Rev and Ein wake up to the sound of foot faint foot steps. They immediately got up, and Rev charges up a wind spear and aims it at the door. Ein signals Rev to wait.
“We are way too far from the city for it to be anyone. It's probably just an animal.” Ein tells Rev.
Ein looks outside the stone shelter. He looks side to side, then steps out.
Ein’s whispers “Rev step out…and tell me what those eyes of your see”
Rev steps out and looks around. He watches, closing to see any movement. Then he spots a light brighter than the rest.
“There,” Rev says, pointing into a push.
A rabbit comes out of the bush hopping over to Rev. Ein looks at the rabbit closely. Rev reaches his hand out, laying his hand on the rabbit's head. Rev looks in to the forest, eyes wide open.
“What is-”
Hundreds of rabbits coming flooding out of the forest. Trampling over Rev, Ein quickly grabs Rev and creates a stone wall.
“WHOOSH”
The wall shatters. Ein runs behind the stone shelter.
“That's a Barrow doing here,” Ein says.
“What's a Bar-”
“WHOOSH”
The stone shelter wall as it's hit.
“A Barrow is a creature of of Tartarus, the land of monster. In the dragon elf war, dragons would fly over hundreds of the monster from their land to Eevan.”
Rev looks into the dark forest his eyes widen is fear, but his instincts quickly take over as he dashes aways from the upcoming attack. Ein uses this to create a stone pillar below him, rasing him up for an aerial view. Rev looks up at Rev, then at the beast as it finally reveals its self as it flies up to Ein. The beast's body resembles a snake, but it's covered in long, thick hairs, thick hairs. His head resembles a cow, but its tail strands off like a thick thread with what appears to be a humanoid hand at the end of it. Before Rev can take in more of the beast, Ein punches the stone pillar below him, shattering it into a bunch of stone fragments. He then shoots the stone fragments at the Barrow's large eye in the center of its head.
“IT’S BLINDED, SHOOT,” Ein calls out.
Rev composes himself and charges up a wind spear. Then shoots it at the Barrow, but it quickly swipes its tail, creating a large wind blast. Rev smiles, watching it unfold. His spear pierces the wind blast, shooting into the head of the beast. The wind blast is still coming towards Rev, but he calmly flashes throw the net signs and creates a net in front of him, catching the wind blast, then pulls it into his core.
“Well done Rev,” Ein says as he pats Rev on the head.
Rev eyes are as bright as the sun as he radiates an unexplainable rush. He walks over to the beast.
“The source in the beast is still there, but it's definitely dead,” Rev says.
“Yes, the source will linger in the body. What I wonder is that's a beast like that doing on this side of the mountain. There are known to be pack create of 5-10 in size.” Ein says scanning the forest a head.
“I don’t see anything else,” Rev tells Ein.
“Well, let's head in then.” Ein says.
Rev and Ein have now set off into the forest, now defeating one of what will be many future beasts.
3 days later…
The forest has proven to be much more dangerous than expected. The last three days have been battle after battle. Rev and Ein have started eating the beast, taking advantage of their high source content. Ein has improved his stone shelter having multiple layers to it. Rev is on adrenaline high that he doesn’t want to end anytime soon. Despite all the action, they have managed to stay relatively safe.
“I see something on out right,” Rev tells Ein.
“I could eat,” Ein says.
Rev smiles as he swiftly shoots a wind spear through the trees straight through the Barrows head.
“Bang” Rev says.
Ein looks at Rev, concern in his eye.
“Killing comes too easy to you, child,” Ein says.
Rev smirks. “That beast could have killed an innocent creature. I was doing us and the small creatures a favor,” Rev says.
Ein walks over to the beast, getting on one knee.

“Thank you twin god for the meal. We will not let any of it go to waste.” Ein prays.
“Should we make it into a soup this time” Rev says.
Ein looks over at Rev. “We can try,” Ein says.
Ein sets up his shelter and gets is supplies out of his backpack. Rev climbs a tree to see how far they are from the mountain.
“Almost there” Rev calls out.
“Come down from there you could hurt yourself,” Ein says looking up at Rev.
Rev grins as he jumps off the tree, shooting down to the floor.
WOOSH
Rev wind blast below him before hitting the ground.
“I thought I told you to stop doing that,” Ein says as he stirs the pot of source.
“Calm down Ein. I just wanted to show you how safe I actually was. See so it doesn’t matter if I fall or not,” Rev says while eyeing up the food.
Ein looks at him, appearing unamused. “Sit child”
Ein pours Rev a bowl of soup and hands it to him.
“Careful it ho-” Rev downs the soup before Ein can finish.
Ein sign. “That was great Ein. The meat definitely tastes better in soup then by its self. We should gather more mushroom for future soups.” Rev tells Ein.
Ein can help but chuckle “You're a strange one child, I have high hopes for you.” Ein says.
Rev gives a confused look. “Ok?”
Ein smile as he blows on his soup. They finish their meal and travel forward. Ein follows behind Rev as he leads the way on the Memory of what he saw before. Rev is constantly scanning the forest. As a result, his eyes have gotten even stronger, being able to see the faintest of source in things form farther away than ever before.
“There right in front of us,” Rev calls out.
“is it another Barrow if not lets avoid contact? We have left over soup for dinner tonight. No need to kill an innocent creature.” Ein tells Rev.
Rev is focus in. “No…its bigger,” Rev says as he backs up next to Ein.
Thump…Thump
“What is it Rev?” Ein asks.
“I…don’t know,” Rev says.
Thumb…Thumb
“Its getting closer…its giant,” Rev says.
Ein tries to get a better look.
THUMB….THUMB
Ein spot the creature is eyes widen.
“Rev we need to be very very quite…there is a troll a head,” Ein whispers.
Rev gets a look at the clear look at the troll. “That's a troll?” Rev whispers to Ein.
“Its best I tell you once we are in a safer place. Let's go around it,” Ein tells Rev.
Rev nods his head and follows behind Ein.
THUMB…CRUNCH
Rev can’t help but look over. “What the-” Ein covers Rev mouth.
They watch in silents as they see the troll pull a tree from its roots and take a bite out of it.
Rev pushes Ein hand off his mouth.
“You can see it to right?” Rev asks.
“Yes Rev, but it’s not the time to be curious. We need to get out of here. The mountain base is close by. We can still reach it by sunset.” Ein tells Rev as he drags him away from the troll.
Rev shrugs him off.
“Am coming am coming…” Rev says still peaking behind his shoulder at the troll.
They sneak away as quietly as they can.
“So…is the troll really that strong” Rev asks looking up at Ein.
“Yes…but for the most part, it's a peaceful creature.” Ein says.
Rev signs “Oh…”
“Don’t tell me you're disappointed you didn’t get to fight it. How many times-”
“Yeah yeah we use our power to help those who can’t help themself” Rev tiredly says.
Ein signs glaring down at Rev. “One day I hope you find a reason to fight for something bigger than yourself.”
Rev stops in his tracks. “My reason is as good as any,” Rev glares at Ein.
Ein sees that he’s hit a nerve “Tell me then” Ein stares Rev down.
Rev fists curl to a tight squeeze. “You wouldn’t understand…you can’t understand,” Rev tells Ein.
Rev face soften but his voice is stern “I look forward to proving you wrong” Ein says, extending his hand.
Rev is caught off guard, staring at Ein's hand. “Don’t tell me you scared of a little bet,” Ein thoughts Rev.
Rev glares up at Ein with fire in his eyes. Rev scuffs and shakes Ein’s hand. Rev's grip is ferm but Ein is sturdy as stone. Ein smile and turn letting out a breath of relief “that’s one way to get to through to the kid” He thinks to himself.
Rev's hand is still tingling from the handshake. “hand is like a dusty stone” Rev mutters.
Ein looks over his should “What was that?”
“Nothing old man, you're hearing things,” Rev says.
Ein turn back and smile “Get up here Rev I need those eyes of yours on full alert”
Rev smirk “What would you do without me..” Rev tells Ein as he walks in front of him.
“I’d be spreading the blessing of the twin gods to all who would lesson, of course,” Ein says, chuckling to himself.
Rev rolls his eyes “This world is to a sick place-”
Ein cut Rev off “No Rev do not speak on what you have, only to see so little of. This would be beautiful. Do not apply the evil that in habits some people to all those who you are yet to meet. Trust me Rev, I have traveled the world for longer than your hearts been beating. Promise me you won’t let the evil in habit you.” Ein stares intently at Rev.
“Nothing will in habit me but me…And this world is sick, but don’t worry, I’ll cure it one by one” Rev says look at the sunset over the mountain ahead.
Ein gives an unsettled look as he watches Rev. “Something not right with that kids…he makes a good deed sound like murder,” Ein thinks.
“Well, it seems we made it in time,” Ein says, looking at the mountain base in the distance.
Rev starts running to the base of the mountain, touching the cold surface. He looks not being able to see the top as the mountain disappears into the cloud above.
“Woah” Rev says
“Lets settle down here and save our energy for tomorrow,” Ein tells Rev.
Ein makes his improved stone shelter. Rev walks inside, seeing Ein preparing dinner. Rev stomach rumbles. Ein looks over at him and pours him a bowl.
Rev is quick to grab it and start the prays “Thank you twin god for the meal. We will not waste a drop”
“Well done, Rev,” Ein says.
As they eat the Barrow soup, Ein can’t help but let his mind wonder. “What could be causing these Barrow to be coming over the mountain? Could there be more food over here? No, the jungle is twice as packed with creatures as here. Could…they be running from-”
Rev interrupts his thought. “When will you teach me a new art?” Rev asks, look intently at Ein.
“Oh…well are journey has just begun, it’s better to master the basic first before, but i guess we could try some stone art tomorrow as it would be helpful for climbing the mountain.” Ein tells Rev.
“Really, I’ll be able to make things out of stone like you…maybe i could shoot a stone spear at Barrows that be way more effective than my wind spear,” Rev says enthusiastically.
Ein signs “Straight to violence with you…For your information, stone arts are mostly defensive based.”
The fire in Rev’s eyes fade “Fine, I guess I can still build a house and stuff”
“If anyone can turn a stone wall into a weapon, it's you,” Ein says sarcastically.
Rev looks up at him and can’t help but smile “I was convinced you didn’t know what a joke was”
Rev and Ein eat finish their meal joyfully.
Rev lays down looking at the ceiling “tomorrow we reach the stars” Rev says grinning at Ein.
Ein laughs “don’t let anyone tell you, you can’t”
The night was cold but Rev slept peacefully in the shelter. His mind could only dream of what lied ahead and of the bet that was made that day. Who will be proven right or wrong?
