[55] Problems on Earth

Diana was an odd existence, anyone that gets to know her surely thinks that way. She’s a bubbly, kind, way too humble and honest for her own good, but occasionally, little cracks would appear on her,

And there was sadness, disappointment, and perhaps a bit of regret hidden inside. Or, that’s what Yue saw at least.

She thought that her kind and sweet nature was just a façade, but that was just as real as her hidden feelings. It was as if those two sides of her existed to almost compliment each other.

I’m thinking to deep into this… Yue thought as she finally willed herself to get out of hr futon and get some fresh air at her personal inside garden. The morning had just arrived after all, and the morning sky was a constant favourite of hers to look at.

Except, she wasn’t alone.

She stopped in her tracks, her eyes moving over to Diana, who was silently standing in the centre of the garden, her eyes blankly staring into the morning sky as the birds flew by. She seems lost in thought.

Actually? No! Diana just got sentimental like, two days ago, she’s not going to go and contemplate her life choices again!

No no. Right now, while she as curious to see how her drunkard mother was doing, she was just vacantly staring at the unseen stars, their light overridden by the shine of the rising sun.

And she saw even beyond the stars, the galaxies, and even the observable universe. She went past the pillars of creation, the insanely massive black hole at the centre of it all, and even the quickly expanding boundaries of space itself.

Using her (unofficial)godly status, she saw past the boundaries of reality, and peeked into several different universes.

You see, while there was no doubt that Earth held some crazy shit that could take down gods like its nothing, all the possibilities she came up with were incredibly hard to find, and one of them wasn’t even a weapon or an item, it’s a goddamn giant prison!

So, she used her eyes to peek into other universes, just in case she could find something there as well. And well…well…holy hell, there was a lot of stuff, everywhere.

However, this, in turn, gave her an insight to several similar, yet different story lines to her universe. Some of them even had her journey finished, with her settling down in all sorts of places with several different people.

There were happy ones, sad ones, funny ones, stupid ones, and so on the list goes.

It did make her wonder though, after she comes back to Crystal, where will her story go next? After all, while it hasn’t been that long since she first incarnated as Diana, it sure as hell was packed with many events.

It…actually might be a nice thing to lay down after this. I mean, you know, if she succeeds, she’s have defied, or even killed a god. How much more power creep will occur here?

So, relaxing a bit, and maybe finally accomplishing the promise she made to Rei about making some nice delightful food.

“……”

Heh…Somehow, I’m getting a bit emotional over this. Wonder why.

She couldn’t help but wonder as her adventures flashed by her mind, from start to now. And-

“Oii! Diana! Where are yooouuu! Damn, this house is too big!”

…Well, it seems like her time of contemplation has been cut short once more. Wiping the building tears in her eyes, she smiled and followed the direction of the voice, leaving Yue behind to watch her back disappear into her house.

Now, while she’s off to help Fyorei out with all his troubles, it’s time for her mind to start coming up with ways to combat those pesky gods.

And the recent sleep she had sure gave her several good ideas. All of them dangerous, none of them guaranteed success, but all of them were awesome and cool in their own rights. Pretty sure old Davin would agree as well.

……

………

She later realised he was just coercing her to have s*x with him, even put on a strong sound barrier using his weird magic. To that, she just sighed and let him take the lead.

End the problem in its infancy. Nip the chaos at the bud.

Yeah, sure, these words got thrown around quite a bit in the realm of fairly bored gods who watched the world from above. After all, this world was theirs, and any who broke into it were burglars and criminals.

To think they’d mess up this badly…

Upon Diana’s first arrival, the gods were fine with it. She was just a guy turned girl who was fairly confused about what the f*ck just happened to her. She also got herself beaten in by a slime, so no potential dangers there.

Or so they thought.

Soon, she grew in strength and experience, and she even managed to escape the domain of the god of death, he who ruled over the withered forest.

But then, the apocalypse happened, and Diana was thrown into the void.

There, they managed to track her down and bring her in as a newby god, not knowing that she was still stubborn as hell, even going as far as avoiding them completely and taking several million bolts to the ass just so she could maintain her humanity and love for her friends.

And in the end, she managed to escape into that ever present gate of chaos, and break from all their quasi-clone dimensions. Now they were worried.

This, in turn, earned them the wrath of the one who stood above them all, the one who ruled over the heavens and was the first to push her reign upon this magical world.

It was her, the goddess of war, Victoria.

Unlike the other gods, who were just concepts and spirits materialised into a higher being, she was a true god, born with godly heritage. Fed up with how her past life was, she escaped from her own dimension and lay claim to the unclaimed lands she found herself in.

If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

Right now, up in her personal room in heaven, she was heavily sighing to herself, her shoulders drooped in defeat. Her wonderful long teal hair was messy all over, and the circles under her eyes show that she’s been lacking some rest(mentally).

Diana…that girl was…annoyingly difficult to deal with. Even after an eternity’s worth of lightning bolts to the ass, she was still able to muster enough courage and power to fight against her will.

And it fed her up even more to know that she couldn’t just waltz up to Earth and take her down.

After all, while that world was unclaimed, the planet itself seemed to hold consciousness, and will send anything and everything her way to destroy her.

“*Hah*…how preposterous…” She sighed as she brought herself out of the large bath she was enjoying, the water trailing down her naked body as she left the humidity.

She could only watch as the girl had some passionate s*x with that faithless man. Even if he was just a denizen of the void, a gate world that connected all worlds, his strength and wisdom alone was something worthy of notice.

Now now, she shouldn’t be fretting over something so uncertain just yet. After all, that being was just a newby god. Someone like her wasn’t going to harm her in a millennium!

She does have something to send to her, as a gift of course.

If she wasn’t wrong, her roster of friends had two humans in it, and one of them she already claimed as hers, which then left the male in the void, still lurking with no purpose to guide him.

Just for a bit of fun, and seeing a bit of genuine use in his ability to have foresights, she sent one of her envoys down into the void realm and got him to bring back this male. It did however cost her a valuable asset, as the envoy she sent was quickly corrupted without her blessing over her and she became sickly and weak because of it.

It’d take quite a long time for her to come back to her maximum potential, but as always, she had time.

A lot of time.

----------------------------------------

“So, what do you plan on doing now?”

That was the question Yue had to ask. After all, three terrestrial being just landed on Earth and was staying in her home, with the goal of ‘sealing/killing a god’, no way was she just going to sit idly by and be all cool about it.

“A-Ah, well…I’ll probably do a little digging in the internet first. D-Do you have a computer and internet here?”

Diana asked back, a fierce blush on her cheeks and her hips wiggling awkwardly. Her hands were tucked together, holding over her aching nether regions. She severely underestimated just how beastly Fyorei was in bed.

Fyorei on the other hand was just grinning ear to ear, enjoying in the after-feel from that wonderful time in bed.

And as the two who were left out, Anna and Yue could only look at them in confusion, but it didn’t take long for Yue to put two and two together and blush at the thought. She’s a pure cinnamon roll.

Also, she didn’t have any computers at her home, so she and her two friends were forced to go to an internet café down the road while Yue went for her school. They also got some pocket change for payment.

Being the internet savant she was, Diana easily immersed herself back into the world of worldwide information. Fyorei was silently ‘inspecting’ one of the computers by breaking it apart away from prying eyes. Anna was just, there, watching her, almost eerily so. Actually, she was pretty sure she just saw a frown on her face, but it disappeared as quick as it came.

That aside, she’s still on work with her mission to find a god sealing/killing weapon/item. And you know?

There’s sooo many~…

There were so many to pick from, it wasn’t even funny. Hell, even popular fictional ones set in Japan should actually exist, since enough mana has gathered due to the people’s will and dreams. I mean, it’d be pretty cool to find Enkidu and use him to chain down the gods. Gil would probably shimmer her alive tho…

Actually, wouldn’t meeting Gil be, like, the best thing ever!? She fantasized in her head, her eyes glittering in delight as any Gil fangirl would be. She also didn’t notice that Anna’s frown had returned.

A-Ah! But she was fretting over minor details! N-No getting side-tracked until she manages to return to her friends in the other world! Umu, she shall set her mind straight! So she proclaimed as she unconsciously played with the bangs of her hair.

*………………*

“A-Ah, better get searching.”

Somehow she had a very ominous stare at her back. Her hands swiftly placed back at the keyboard (and the attendant putting down the cup of tea she ordered earlier), she continued her dive into the web.

And while all this was happening, no one even batted an eye to the dangers soon coming.

----------------------------------------

Japan’s branch headquarters.

It’s like the clocktower from the Fate series, or a mini-sized academy city from the To Aru series, or any magic’ association building from any modern fantasy setting. A place where the top mages gather to discuss matters the public cannot hear.

And today was no different.

Inside a room hidden from any prying eyes, a total of 7 people was sitting around a long table, some tense, some casual, one was sleeping, others were eating, all were very famous and were held as the 7 stars of Japan, the 7 strongest mages of this country.

“So, let me get this straight, a rift to the dimension of the gods have just been opened, and its causing all phantasmal beasts to evolve faster than ever recorded? Yeah, sure sherlock. What kind of bullsh*t is that, ha?!”

A fairly young and handsome man shouted as he slammed his fists against the table, his blonde hair waving wildly as bursts of wind shot out, his anger practically oozing out into the atmosphere.

“Now, now. Keep your anger in check, Garou-san. We won’t have enough budget to keep replacing the table every time you get angry. And I assure you, this information is correct, as much as I wish it wasn’t.”

A soft voice elegantly explained, belonging to another fairly handsome young man, with unnatural blue hair and a piercing gaze. His fingers were wrapped around a small spoon, gently swirling the tea it was placed in.

Garou retracted his fists and huffed. He’s gotten a lot of bullsh*t in his life, but this, this was just on another level of sh*ttery. A portal to a god’s realm, sure, sure.

“Tch. Then what, Val? Sit back and watch?” Garou asked softly, a look of dim sadness flashed in his eyes as he stared at the one other member who was taking this seriously. Val held his chin and thought for a moment.

“We lack information, and as such, can’t conceive a plan. That’s what we need to solve first.”

“Yeah, no sh*t.”

The meeting ended without any result, and all 7 mages split to continue whatever they were doing. Val went back to the hotel room he rented and sat down on his bed, his mind still deep in thoughts from the recent events.

A huge surge of mana, a number of unidentified characters sudden appearing, a rift to the realm of the gods, an increase in phantasmal beasts. They were definitely connected in some way, but why?

He had an odd feeling that humans, at least ones from Earth, weren’t meant to be placed in that equation as well, but since all’s happening on Earth, they’re forced into the fray as well.

How troublesome…

----------------------------------------

*HUUUAAA!!!*

A terrific roar sounded through the air, shaking the many trees surrounding its source. There, a large lion-like beast with blue fur and black eyes could be seen. Its sharp claws were bright gold and a cloak of purple fire was surrounding its neck.

“Ha…Ha…Puh…That hurt.”

Standing before it, Yue spat out some blood as she regained her footing, her waist shooting with pain from the recent strike she took. Her usual dignified demeanour was gone, replaced with a feral look of survival.

-Rewinding a bit-

After she let off Diana and her companions at an internet café, she went off to deal with a phantasmal beast she heard about yesterday. They said that it was a lion-type, and had been killing anyone who had even come close to its domain.

All seemed well and all, she was even about to kill it, but then,

Just as she was about to deal the finishing blow, its eyes shined black as a burst of purple flames circled and enveloped the beast, before it reappeared, its appearance changed, its injuries healed, and its power far strengthened.

But! As the prodigy of the Shizenso family, she would not back down!

She controlled the roots underground using her magic and tied the beast down. Using the poison manufactured from countless plants, she was about to inject it into the beast, but it easily tore through the roots and slashed at her waist with its golden claws. Her quick reflex was the only thing that saved her from her death.

Which brings her back to the present moment, with blood seeping into her skirt and her magic ineffective against it. A drop of sweat trailed down her cheeks as she prepared to move, her eyes never leaving it.

Before suddenly,

“Kya!?”

A bubble of green slime splashed onto her back, covering her with the gooey substance. She would’ve shook it off at that moment, but for one, she was being carefully watched by that lion for any openings, and two, she was healing.

“Iya~, Yue, you’re quite beat up, huh? Stand back, ‘kay?”

Suddenly, she heard a familiar voice from behind her. Turning to look, she saw Diana there, happily waving her hand at her as her two friends were walking behind her.

“Y-You…”

“Don’t worry and watch. Big sis is here.”

The cavalry has arrived. And what’s with the big sis?
