Where's My Unique Skill?! [Discontinued]
[52] Levelling Up, All Over Again!

[52] Levelling Up, All Over Again!

All she recalled was seeing a bright black light erupt from the centre of the village, engulfing everything as it…it…

Huh?

What village was it again?

Her mind felt…blurry. She did her best to recall what happened, but no matter what she did, she would simply see emptiness, a black empty void.

No, not yet.

She tried to remember once more. She thought long and hard, about how she first saw herself being saved from the bandits by Diana and…

Who’s Diana?

She felt like she was someone important, and…and…a…nd…

What was she thinking about again?

Could she even think?

What’s her name again?

The girl couldn’t remember anything, or perhaps she didn’t have any to lose in the first place. She simply opened her eyes to see herself kept inside a small bedroom, with several other girls, their eyes looking just as lifeless as hers.

It was a simple room, with a desk, several small beds, and a light bulb to light the area. The other girls watched her as she awoke from her sleep, looking at her curiously.

None of them were wearing clothes. Somehow, she felt like she should be feeling something because of that, but all she felt was nothing.

They all had varying hair colours, hairstyles, body figures, skin tones, and many other minute differences. But they all had one aspect.

Their eyes were empty grey, a mere empty shell.

Why did that matter anyways?

Then, the door opened, and in came a beautiful woman. Her hair was a luscious black, her eyes were red, and her body had all the curves in the right places. Her lack of clothing only served to emphasize her natural beauty, giving her a sense of awe, even for the shortest of moments.

“Lost 0189, follow me.”

She spoke, her voice echoing with magic. The girl felt obliged-, no, her body simply stood up from the bed and followed her out of the room, the door closing behind them as they left the other girls behind.

Stepping out, she was greeted into an underground area, with countless lewd photos and brochures. The walls were a clean metallic black, and neon lighting lit the inside quite well.

It was…she didn’t have any thoughts on it actually.

More like she didn’t have many thoughts at all.

But that aside, standing across from them were a pair, a male and a female. The man had a smug look on his face, his hand rubbing his chin as he evaluated with his wise eyes the worth of her beauty and how good she might be in s*x.

The girl however, had an ecstatic look on her face, and her lips were curled up into a wide smile. Like the woman, she was also naked.

Her eyes were a clear blue however, unlike the man’s red eyes or the girls(and hers) blank grey.

Then, she called.

“Anna~!”

Diana had expected a full happy reaction from her, but all she had in return was silence, and a strange look from the woman as she was waiting for her decision to ‘buy’ her or not.

She couldn’t help but feel saddened about it. She simply held a pained smile on her face as she looked upon what was once Anna, a friend she had saved from a band of bandits.

It was to be expected however. Any human, or anyone with a soul actually, who were dragged in by the other vengeful souls and were put into the gates would be stripped of their minds and spirits, leaving them an empty husk to wander in this deadly world.

They are known as ‘The Lost’ and can be found everywhere, especially after that recent fiasco from Oldruin that caused all of this.

Of course, since the world was so hostile outside of these cities, they would be easily killed if no one were to come and bring them in.

Here in this world, where no one really gives a damn or two about anything, the lost are treated as ‘slaves’, but in a kinder and more acceptable way, like maids of sorts. Of course, anyone could just ask them to do whatever, but not for physical labour and stuff. They can teleport.

Denizens could ‘buy’ these lost ones for a ‘price’. What these ‘prices’ could be…well, it depends from person to person really.

Now…

“Are you going to take her? Seriously, this is wasting my time.”

She softly nodded at her words, and the woman smiled, her bright red eyes glinting with excitement. With no words said, she simply made a pair of scissors using her fingers and crossed them over one another.

That was the price Diana needed to pay to get Anna back. And…well, seeing what she meant, she blushed. S-Seriously, what was with everyone here? She wondered as she followed the woman to another room, leaving Fyorei behind to stare awkwardly at the lost soul.

………………

“Ah~, I have to say, she’s pretty good with her hands.”

“Ho~?”

While Diana was resting her soul back in the other room, the woman and Fyorei was having a nice ‘casual’ chat as the silent and emotionless ‘Anna’ stared on.

With this, the first payment has been confirmed, and next came the trial run, where Diana had a total of 2 weeks to ‘test’ out her bought goods before the woman charges her the full price.

But, going back a bit.

After Diana had gotten her status plate, she and Fyorei moved on towards a building that stored and kept new ‘lost ones’ and sold them out to the public. When she stepped inside, the feeling only became louder, and her body felt compelled to move towards the basement.

After an exchange between her and the woman and a promise to ‘play’ a bit, the three headed into the basement, and that came to be the point of highest interest.

She waited with anticipation and tension building to a crescendo, before she finally got to see Anna, or, at least the body of Anna, stepping out of the door with empty eyes.

This was what happened to all the humans. All of them.

She was sad. That’s a given. But through her many experiences in the void, she’s seen the world as her friends did, and truly, the worth of a single life here was tiny. Death happened everywhere, and there was no law or government to try and protect everyone.

If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.

It’s kill or be killed.

That was why she could accept it, seeing her friend now lifelessly standing before her. She dearly wanted to try and bring her old self back, but without her soul, she knew something like that was impossible.

On that note however…She wondered how the world was handling up there…

Alright! Back on track!

After Diana managed to recover herself, she exchanged a quick conversation with the woman before she left, now with Anna to protect her as well. Fyorei’s staying behind for a bit, since he’s planning to have some fun with some eager girls he met back on the streets.

The pervert…

Anyways! Now that she’s out of the city, she went out to fight some monsters,

But…

“C-Clooosee!!”

*Wush!* A swift kick went over her as she bent down and jumped away. As soon as she landed however, the mannequin she was now fighting immediately closed the gap and kicked her in the abdomen, instantly sending her flying back!

Or so it thought.

The body that was sent flying immediately broke apart into a small puddle of slime, and the real Diana assimilated a distance away, her slimy form glistening with slimy sweat.

You see, if she compared their strengths, this one oddly agile and flexible wooden mannequin had the power and speed of one of the transformed ‘sisters’ back in that one section of Tartarus!

She was level one damn it!

Anna, since she was a new ‘lost one’, she was a level one as well, albeit with stronger physical strength due to her being a ‘lost one’. She literally just got her like, 5 minutes ago, she’s not letting her die just yet!

Her mind flared on as she wracked her brain for tactics to use, as her eyes watched the mannequin tear off its left arm and swing it at her. The magical wooden piece flew at her at the speed of aya’s danmaku, even burning a bit from the air friction.

She easily morphed to evade the incoming danmaku shot, before she tore off a bit of herself and fired it, maximising speed over attack. The high-velocity slime bullet made impact, but hardly a scratch was made on its enchanted wooden body.

Time to go all JoJo!

The mannequin jumped in and sent a flurry of attacks, using its one arm and two legs as it spared time to wait for the arm to boomerang back to it.

Seeing the incoming flaming arm however, Diana had a neat idea to try out. She jumped back a few metres and shot a small [Slime Cannon] at the incoming arm, sending it just slightly out of path and causing it to crash into the mannequin’s hip.

*Boom!*

A resounding explosion as the two pieces of wood collided. Diana shrieked as she shielded herself with her arms, while Anna simply watched, with no regards as pieces of debris hit her all over.

Out from the dust cloud, the mannequin came, its hip burnt and broken, but still mostly intact. Its arm was reattached as well.

But Diana was not afraid. Using her quick wits, she ducked under an arm swing and stuck some slime onto the mannequin’s legs.

Jumping back, she turned her left arm into a long slimy whip and swung it, spinning around the mannequin’s burnt hip as the tip of the whip flung back and merged together with her.

Sensing danger, the mannequin broke out of the slime on its feet and lunged at her! But as she dodged to avoid it, she quickly began spinning the attached slimy rope, causing it to grind against the damage on its whip.

Sparks began to fly out as an incredible amount of friction accumulated in one section, quickly catching the wooden hip on fire. The mannequin moved erratically, lunging at her with its two arms ready to tear her slimy self apart.

But this was her victory! As the slimy rope burnt through the hip and broke the mannequin into half, separating the hip from its torso. Fire caught onto the magical wood as the remains of the mannequin turned to ash, and with that,

[Enemy has been slain. 97 Skill Points gained]

[Congratulations! You are now Level 37! Stats have increased]

Her victory was assured!

…You know what. That was actually a pretty standard and regular fight for once! That aside, she jumped by…by…uh…36, levels? Pretty sure. Now it’s time to see just how her stats have improved!

Name: Diana

Class: Slime God Lv 37

Subclass:

HP: 340/340

SP: 320/320

[Strength]: 108

[Control]: 107

[Dexterity]: 112

[Mentality]: 116

[S*ki%# Po&!ts]: 97

{Skills}: [Absolute Slime Transformation Lv 1]

{Slimy Compendium}

Wohoo~! Boy, oh boy ! Now that’s a stat jump!

Now, since she won’t be getting to many places with just her slimy form, it’s time for a skill rush!

[Use Skill Synthesis 4 times? 90 Skills Points will be used]

The scaling for the cost of each skill increases as she uses it more, but she’s still capable of using it 4 times, so that’s already good enough!

She was quite excited though, since she’s deviated so much from her original path, there’s no telling what skills the gacha system will give her. The first two are usually the bubble slime one and the transformation one, but who knows? Maybe she’ll get something different!

[……]

[Skill Synthesis has been completed. {Slimy Bubble Magic}, {[Slime Modelling]},

{[Slime: Enhancement!]}, and {[Slime: Holy Flame!]} has been unlocked]

Oookay~, so…the first two’s the same then. That’s something she knew well at least, but enhancement and holy flame, dayum! Now those are two elements she’s never even heard of! That’s amazing!

{[Slime: Enhancement!]}

Lv 1/10

-Synthesized skill. Progression and evolution unknown-

Your slime now holds powers of Enhancement, allowing you to boost your little buddies with the power of friendship and love!...Well, literally, as the enhancement boosts all stats, and is tied to your [Control] stat and your relationship with the target.

{[Slime: Holy Flame!]}

Lv 1/10

-Synthesized skill. Progression and evolution unknown-

Your slime now holds the powers of the holy flame. Upon activation, your slime will gain the effect of inducing a searing heat from the heavens. Similar to [Slime: Heat!], it induces the effect of heat into your enemy, but the flames of heavens have gifted this ability with an increased heat effect and an increase effectivity against the undead and the unholy.

Oooooookay. Now, THAT’s the deal! Enhancement and holy flames!? She’s become a hybrid between Mercy and Laphicet! She practically a powerhouse now.

Well, against the other denizens of the void? Not so much. She’s still get her ass handed to her several hundred times at this stage. But this was a good improvement to have! Especially with wooden mannequins running amok.

But, enough of that for now. Fazing her status plate back into the void(yeah, that’s a thing), she sighed and turned her gaze over to Anna, her lifeless eyes staring back into hers.

She wondered if she felt bored, just sitting there watching her fight it out against that mannequin. She probably wasn’t, since she didn’t even have a soul and all, but she imagined she felt quite bored inside that husk of hers.

Maybe the next fight she’ll leave to her. Hmm…

Actually, that might be a good chance to test out her {[Slime: Enhancement!]} skill, just to see how much of an improvement it’ll give to Anna on the get go.

With a soft smile, she ordered Anna to follow her as they went off into the purple grassy wilderness, searching out for more monsters to fight and hunt down.

………………

The variety of monsters in this world was…surprisingly small. It’s still pretty big, mind you, there’s a lot of species that could kill her and all, but for an ENTIRE world, this amount was quite small.

Or, at least, that’s what the wiki on her status plate said anyways. Really though, she’s beginning to wonder if this status plate was secretly a phone or something, because damn is this thing high-tech for a slab of thin stone!

Anyways, as expected, the two girls met quite a sum of monsters as they went out on this training killing session. As promised, she let Anna take some of the fun, letting her battle on with her only support being Diana’s additional enhancing slime stickily stuck to her exposed back.

And…man, has this route shocked her!

To give you a heads up, Anna’s lifeless body is physically stronger than normal for…some reason. Maybe the process of getting her soul ripped out and falling into this void world enhanced her somehow.

At her best, she could shatter a rock with a single punch of her fist. And remember that she was still LEVEL 1 on that.

Now at level…something, she couldn’t really check with her lack of status, but it as definitely much higher than level 1 now, she could beat those magically enchanted mannequins down with a good fist fight.

And with her enhancing slime added onto her, she could smash a 3-storey sized iron golem with a good punch or two. It’s terrific!

But while Anna was off to have a good battle with a giant tree trunk that’s alive for no particular reason, one that’s taking over a mountain, Anna with having a silent time alone, sitting on the grassy hills as she looked up towards the black cloudy sky.

How was everyone up there?

One question and one only. She went through all this just so she could reunite with them without breaking her humanity. And, well, she’s alive now, but how was she supposed to get back? Go through that gate thingy again?

And if she goes back, won’t the gods just notice and rewind her existence back to that white area?

Wouldn’t it all be for nothing then?

She needed to have something, something that could shield her from the reign of the gods. A skill, a shield, a sword, whatever, just, something that had enough power to oppose the rule of the gods.

But how would she even find something like that?

She couldn’t find any answer to that, as she absentmindedly watched Anna get flung down into the ground, crashing and stopping in the dirt right in front of her before she jumped out and rushed back to fight.

She quickly shot a [Slime Cannon] loaded with her enhancement effect onto Anna’s back, increasing her overall prowess as she knocked away a gigantic 20 foot root out of the sky.

What could she do?

Was it even possible?

What should she do first?

She couldn’t find any answers to those three, even as she watched the clouds tear open and another gate appear, flushing in countless souls and ‘lost ones’, along with-

Is that a cell phone?

And then, an idea struck her mind.
