To start off,

“Hey, Diana, do you know what Facebook is?”

“Face…Book? Is it an app that records faces or something?”

Nestra decided to ask a completely random question.

Going back a bit, after everyone got along better with each other(and Nestra’s silent lamenting for being left out), the big trio and their trusty golem(in golem core mode) finally stood up and walked towards where the teleport circle was.

They did enter this place to gain power and experience, so now that they’re done, it was time to leave. But, there’s been something nagging at Nestra’s mind, so she decided to ask so.

‘So…It’s true after all.’

As an existence created from Diana’s ego, she retained all her memories and some of her personalities. That also meant that every single game reference she said, Diana would also know.

But, if Diana didn’t even know Facebook, something must be wrong, right?

“……”

“Nestra? What’s wrong?”

Ever since Diana was brought into this world, and found that she was now a female, her personality has been getting warped from time to time. Like calling things cute, being interesting in things she wouldn’t normally, or other weird stuff Diana pulled off.

Does that slowly progressing change affect her mind and memories as well?

“Yoohoo~? Nestra?”

No, that didn’t seem right. Even as her personality became more and more girly, her memories seem to be kept intact.

Then, maybe dying caused something inside her to change? After all, you don’t just come back from death saying ‘I’m fine~!’ without any worries. Something must have been lost as she passed through the Sanzu river.

Hmm…But that also seems kinda unlikely too…

“Nestra~? You okay? Need some orange juice?”

Then,

‘…Slimey, is it…’

Yeah, that’s the only plausible explanation to all this.

After Diana came back to life, while she wasn’t sure if Crystal or Rei even noticed this, but Slimey was nowhere to be seen.

It was also quite odd to notice that Diana was sweating ‘Slime’ when they were having that intense talk from earlier.

Put two and two together, then she could somewhat guess that Slimey must have done something to Diana to bring her back to life. Either that being allowing himself to become her new literal heart, becoming her life force, or maybe-

“Diana, put out your finger for a moment.”

“Eh? Umm, okay, but what are you-”

With unmatched speed, Nestra pulled her knife out of her sheath and cut a wound into her hand!

“KYAAAaaaaa…Eh? It doesn’t hurt…? Oya, it’s even healing?!”

‘Guessed it.’

“Ahaha~, I guess my [Slimic Sublimation]’s gotten even stronger!”

‘That’s obviously not the case, you idiot!’ She retorted silently in her heart.

The fact that Diana sweats slime now, that Diana couldn’t feel pain anymore and her injuries healing, and the fact that she’s forgotten one of the biggest social medias in recent years, she was now convinced.

Slimey and Diana, had merged and become one!

“Anyways! What was that for!?”

“Haha…Sorry, just testing something out.”

Her knowledge was quite limited, but what Slimey must have done might be distantly related to how Nestra herself got created.

There does exist the technique to merge two existences together, to create a new existence. This was usually done by merging two different souls into one by force. Slimey must have done something close to that.

As to how he managed to do that, she wasn’t quite so sure, but it’s probably related as to the fact that Diana was a slime queen, and Slimey was her loyal servant.

Anyways, defining a [Soul] was actually quite simple. In this world, unlike back on Earth, a [Soul] wasn’t a mystical existence that everyone had lying inside them. Instead, a [Soul] was the manifestation of that person’s mana, this being [MP].

To illustrate, think of a [Soul] as an iPhone.

When you’re using an iPhone, the iPhone itself doesn’t change much physically, but the battery is slowly being used up as you use it to, I don’t know, play candy crush?

The same goes for a [Soul]. When you are using Magic, your MP is used up, but it’ll charge back up in time. The amount of MP you’re carrying doesn’t change, no matter how many Thorn Bind Hostages you cast on Dogmeat for ‘science’.

This meant, when Slimey decided to merge together with Diana, he forcefully fed himself into Diana’s soul. And since Diana was pretty dead at the time, her soul was very weak, so, because Slimey’s [Soul] was stronger, it forcefully expelled some of Diana’s soul and filled the gap.

Of course, she wasn’t sure if that was completely correct, but it seems to be the most likely.

A [Soul], just like one would think, aside from being MP, was the embodiment of the person having it. Their personalities, memories, likes, dislikes, everything they had inside was stored inside their [Soul].

So, when Slimey forced his way into Diana’s heart(literally), some(a lot) of Diana’s memories and original personality must have been lost(hopefully not). As how much of Diana had changed, she didn’t know, but one thing still stands,

It’s…scary really, to have your memories lost.

But, Diana was seemingly oblivious to that, and Rei and Crystal don’t seem to mind it that much, so perhaps all will go fine and dandy, yeah?

Well, that, and Diana’s a pure slime now, so any pure physical attack will just pass through her, so, yeah!

“Well, sorry for cutting you. Make sure you don’t get eaten by a zombie once you’re out, alright?”

“Yeah~! Will do!”

“Alright then, see you.”

“Bye bye!”

With that, the three stepped into the teleportation circle, and disappeared into thin air, leaving Nestra behind.

She somewhat regretted that she couldn’t come with her, but she’s a property of this dungeon, and as such, she was bounded here, no matter what she wanted. Diana suggested trying to sever that connection, but she’ll die, so she immediately said no.

“Well…time to clean the place up, I suppose.”

*Guuuaaaa*

*Crackle, crackle*

“Is it just me…Or were these peeps waiting for us here?”

“…Food?”

Once they appeared on the surface, they noticed the large crowd of undead waiting around them. And of course, the first thing Rei thought about was how she wanted to eat them. Well, she’s also kinda hungry, so some zombie meat will be nice~

“Hey, Crystal, let’s crush these guys, alright?”

“Why don’t you do it? You’re strong enough to do it, right? I-I mean, it’s not like I w-won’t do-“

“Oh, ok then. [Corrosive Slime Wave]”

Without waiting for her to finish, she created a wave of corrosive slime around them, and engulfed all and every undead waiting to crunch them up.

“Let me finish!”

“Ehehe~”

As a result, all the skelly bones and walking rotting corpses were swallowed up by the green slimy substance, and quickly began corroding away as her slime did the work!

“…Leave, some.”

“Okay~”

As commanded, she left some zombies out for dinner. With no waiting, Rei jumped in and devoured the ‘crying?’ zombie. Diana didn’t wait either, and also began eating another zombie nearby.

Hmm? Something about this didn’t seem right…?

‘Ah! We haven’t made it into jerky yet! No wonder it tastes weird!’

Anyways, her stomach’s satisfied now, and the moon was getting pretty high up into the sky, so it’s probably better to call it quits now. They just slept, but some more sleep wouldn’t hurt!

So, with Rei as their personal GPS, they returned to the cozy cave Rei had conquered and had a nice sleep.

The next day came by quickly, along with the nice taste of the zombie jerky Rei had left inside the cave.

Also, since she was now naked and all, she created some Dogoos to her command and sent them out to bring back some clothing. She also told them explicitly to bring ones that would seemingly fit her female body.

In the end, after many failed attempts by her loyal slimes, she clothed herself with a nice pair of brown leather jeans, white T-shirt, a pair of shoes(no socks though), and a grey cloak to wear around her, ‘cause it looks cool.

Also, this was completely random, but look!

Yep! After some more playing around with bubbles, her [Bubble Magic] finally got to level 10! Which means, evolution time!

Thankfully, there wasn’t any need to sacrifice two more skills, so she quickly clicked [Yes]!

Allows you to form bubbles. You can control various aspects; Size, speed, and shape.

Air Density and Elasticity are now also variable aspects.

Woah…Woah~! That’s amazing! The once ‘kind of useless, not really’ party skill has evolved into a cool one! Well, she wasn’t too sure yet, but ‘Air Density’ and ‘Elasticity’ can now be controlled?! That sounds amazing!

Immediately, she tested the new skill out.

First, she pumped the elasticity of the bubble up to max, and created the bubble.

The result? Not much actually. It’s just an increase on the ‘Shape’ aspect of the magic, allowing her to more easily mold the bubble into different interesting shapes.

Next, she cracked the the ‘Air Density’ inside the bubble up to Mt. Everest, and the results were much more interesting this time!

Before she even realised, the bubble couldn’t hold on, and popped, causing the insane amount of air inside to burst out like an air bomb. Since it’s also considered magic, and she was hit in point-blank range, it hurt, a lot.

But! That meant,

That she could probably make an attack with this!

So, with her excitement building, she decided to try and experiment, to see and find out how much air she could densely pack into the bubble before it bursts open.

And after many trials and error, here’s her result!

“[Stray Cat: Composite Bullet]!”

*Bam!*

Summoning the special bubble she made, she aimed it at the wall, and fired! At full speed, the bubble flew slightly slower in comparison to her [Slime Railgun], but it’s destructive power was definitely bigger than her go-to [Slime Cannon]!

However, there was one flaw to this spell. Despite having more power and speed in comparison to [Slime Cannon], there was no knockback, meaning that if he needed to push back something, like a golem for example, this spell wouldn’t be great.

That, and the spell name was…way too long.

The name itself was a reference to a stand from the JoJo series, but no matter how many times she tried, she just couldn’t remember from which JoJo series it belonged to! Well, no matter, it won’t impact much.

“…Diana, here.”

“Ah! Thank you~!”

‘Is it just me…Or is Diana acting girlier than usual?’ Was the vacant thought that popped into Crystal’s mind as she popped the last piece of the zombie jerky into her mouth.

Anyways, after some rest and planning, they would be heading out of this forest, which meant that the ‘Reaper’ as Rei calls it will get in their way. They’ve definitely improved thanks to the recent incident, but will it be enough?

Inside a castle, far far away, standing on the lands corrupted by magic and death, a woman could be seen, sitting on her throne as she drank the wine in her hand.

Coming in, a man entered and kneeled before her, two small horns showing on his forehead.

“Ho~, so it’s that time of the millennia again, is it?”

“I believe so, milady.”

The woman smiled when she heard the report. After all, it’s not everyday when an enormous surge of mana would burst out from the ground, causing the earth to crack and tremble under its might.

A power that could shake the earth itself, one that could be felt from continents away, could only mean one thing.

“I wonder what it’ll look like this time around~”

She smiled widely, knowing that after the long wait, some fun will finally show itself.

“Are we just going to let this go!?”

“Calm down already. Getting angry over it won’t do anything.”

Inside a secluded wooden shack, standing under the harsh snowstorm outside, an argument between two people could be heard.

The first one was from a man. His body was bulging with muscles, and his body exuded an aura that kept many that saw it in fear.

Sitting across from him, was a young boy, looking not more than 12 years old. However, his aura was even more mature and powerful than the one standing before him. His actual age was unknown, but he was no normal boy.

The golden eyes he possessed, staring deep into his soul as he eyed the man sitting before him.

“Besides, this one was particularly strong, wasn’t it? We even felt it here.”

“I-I know! That’s why I said-!”

“But, if we charge in recklessly, you know what they’ll do to us, right?”

“I know damnit…But…!”

-I can’t just ignore it! Was what he wanted to shout back, but the shining golden pair of eyes staring back at him shut him up for good.

“And besides, I don’t sense that much danger from this one, so we’ll be fine.”

“I…I see…”

“So, we’ll just wait, alright?”

*Ruuuuuuu*

“He~, so that’s the ‘Reaper’…”

*You…You’re…not…afraid…?*

“Heh, we’ve trained our lives out for this. [Ruin Call: Ixion]!”

“…Ready.”

As you could probably guess, Diana and co had just reached the edge of the withered forest, and before them, stood a large cloaked figure with a large steel scythe in his hands. This was, no doubt, the ‘Reaper’!

“Get ready everyone! We’ll be taking him down!”

“Agreed.”

“…Un.”

Fists ready, golem built, explosive bubbles conjured, and her staff in hand, they all took their stances, and faced off against the ‘Reaper’!
