“W-Will I be okay, s-senpai?”
“…I’ll protect you. Believe me, ‘kay?”
While reluctant, Anna couldn’t help but believe in those beautiful blue eyes. They were clouded and all over the place, but through all that, she could still tell that Diana cared for her.
Finally, mustering all her courage and using up all of her NP gauge, she slowly stepped into the block of slime, and let herself be dragged in, feeling Diana’s magic caressing her to sleep. With one final glance to a determined Diana, Anna closed her eyes.
………………
“Guah!! T-That hurts~…”
Trial number…something was a failure.
She’s been through this so many times, that she’s forgotten what attempt it was now. Not that it mattered though, since she had an endless eternity to spend here before she finally reunites with her fellow friends and comrades.
She slouched down and placed her hands on the floor, breathing roughly as she felt the pain from her failure course through her body violently.
Giving a glance at the empty whiteness she found herself in, she couldn’t help but feel saddened by the lonely emptiness this whole place had.
The gods gave her one mission: To shed her humanity and embrace godhood, which meant throwing away her emotions and sympathy. But that brought another question. Would she still be Diana by then?
And if so, wouldn’t doing so be pointless then?
Some eternity before, she finally found her answer and said, “You know, that’s stupid! Basic lessons 101 is to never throw away my humanity to gain power!”, which garnered her a nice lightning bolt to the ass from a very annoyed god watching from above.
And-, oh, just to clarify, after thousands of trials, she decided that it’d be more fun to make Anna call her as ‘Senpai’. S-She wasn’t implying anything here! Pinky swears!
But, getting someone to call her Senpai wasn’t going to fix anything. W-While it does feel nice to be called that(especially from someone so innocent like Anna), that was just the trials, just a simulation. It wasn’t real.
Well, actually, it wasn’t exactly a simulation, because what the gods are actually doing was…uh…if she heard it right, ‘creating multiple copies of the same universe to allow her to experience the future, but not directly cause it in the real universe’.
Yeah, it’s kinda confusing.
Being honest though? This was getting tiring. She’s seen the world die, Anna encased, her other friends drowning in the void, and getting her ass flicked and burnt by the annoyed gods for…well, forever. Anyone was bound to get tired!
Thankfully, she hasn’t developed any masochistic feelings from getting hit by lightning, so that’s a good thing…W-Well, maybe a little. By this point, getting hit on the ass by a lighting strike felt more like getting spanked than anything.
It was not something she was proud of.
But! Back to the main topic, trying to go back to her friends without shedding her humanity.
It’s…well, impossible. Not by godly means anyways. This was a perpetual loop of universes that the gods have created for her. A repeating playground formed by copy pasting stuff.
However, on the occasions that she did divert from immediately saving Anna, to going to try and meet Crystal and friends, she would always witness this…grand appearance of hell.
Out from the ground, like some sort of Bifrost knockoff, a tower of black light would emerge from the ground and rise towards the cloudy skies. And then, a surge, no, a flood of vengeful spirits would leak out to drag every human in the world back into hell.
By some point, she decided, ‘Hey, let’s go and explore down there!’ With a cute childish voice, before getting herself another lightning bolt to the ass.
It was clear that the gods were warning her NOT to go there, but here’s the important question.
Why?
She’s been there several times already, but all there is was just a prison cell, with her slowly getting tortured to death.
After all, this was just another of the copied universes, right? Why would the gods decide to warn her away from that place? Couldn’t they just, like, uh, wipe that thing off the database or something?
But they didn’t, or maybe…just maybe, they couldn’t.
Now that’s an exciting thought!
Going in, fighting against the wills of the gods, and going to the place where all the deceased souls of humanity has gathered up to one day surge out like a bombastic volcano explosion. Just the thought of that was getting her blood pumping!
*Bam!*
“Atatata!! W-What was that for!?”
Another lightning bolt when flying from, well, under her, and hit her straight on the ass, causing her to jump and jerk a bit, before landing back down. D-Did the gods manage to break through the fourth wall and-
…Huh? Wait, then why…ah…
I just heard a call from my higher ups. Nope! The fourth wall’s clean and clear! No damage has been spotted nor will be spotted! Or, that’s what they’ve said at least.
It seems the gods were just annoyed at Diana’s stupidly big grin.
Kinda lame, don’t ‘cha think?
Anyways~, her body’s pretty much ready to go once more. So, with one deep breath, she lied down flat on the whiteness below her, closed her eyes, and began the process once again.
……………………
“Hmm…Is the Slime Queen still asleep?”
This was weird. The goblin elder couldn’t help but think so as he stood in front of Diana’s hut.
Usually, she would be the first to rise from her beauty sleep, and that was why he liked her so very much. Her open nature and her willingness to start a conversation was a nice change to the normally silent mornings he had waking up early.
But more than that, something felt…different than usual. The air that surrounded this seemingly peaceful rainy morning was not normal. Something was-
*WOOOOOSHH!!!*
…Alright, that settles it. Something was definitely wrong here! Just then, when his mind was beginning to slip, Diana suddenly burst out of her hut and sped off into the forest. If he wasn’t stabbing his wooden stick into the ground, he could’ve fallen over just then!
This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.
He would’ve gone after her, but…His back’s been giving out recently, and his old age certainly hasn’t helped. If anything, it’s a shock that a goblin his age was still up and about, even using magic and all.
“Better leave it to ‘em youngsters, they say, but not for me! I’ll do it myself!” He shouted, accidentally waking up several nearby goblins and getting him some weird looks from his people.
Enough of the elder’s personal life, Diana’s in a rush here!
Judging from the odd stirring in the air, it seems like the gates of hell hasn’t opened just yet, but the signs were already here. At this time, Crystal should be…uh…walking back all depressed and stuff, right?
And then, bam! The gate appears, vengeful souls spills out everywhere, and all hell breaks loose. Extinction of humans happens, Diana goes to protect either Ilgua or Anna, and then fails the trial and gets shot with a dosage of pain.
But this time! This time, she’ll drop in, find herself in a slightly better situation, and then finally-
“Guhah!?”
Just as she was getting hyped, she trips on a stray tree root, face-plants herself into a poisonous plant, and attracts the attention of two monster monkeys waiting above her. The monkeys exchanged sad glances at the girl, before they jumped down to strike-
A puddle of slime.
*…Gugu?*
The monkeys shared a confused glance at each other, before they proceeded to jump into the puddle of slime and turn it into their own personal slime bath.
Oh, and also, just so it’s easier for her, she already stripped herself naked back in the hut.
Keeping pace, she quickly made it out of the forest, her eyes shining with determination as she saw the black tower of light ascend into the clouds, causing the muddy clouds above to circle around the piercing tower of ominous light.
The gates of hell have opened.
“No time to waste then!”
Knowing that she’d be receiving another stream of lightning strikes to her ass if she fails this, her determination was strengthened even further as she made a run towards the tower of black light. Her lips curled into a wide grin as she ran closer and closer.
She soon managed to catch a glimpse of Crystal and her group, looking utterly terrified by that sudden appearance of the gate. She shot a quick [Slime Cannon] at them to say hello as she continued running.
Then, souls, hundreds and thousands of souls began spilling out of the light, an overflowing cauldron of souls spilling its contents. The second stage has begun. And in a minute or so, the third stage will begin.
And by that point, trying to enter the gate herself would be too hard.
The gods, finally seeing that she’d have a high chance of succeeding this time around, sent down a volley-, no, a legion of lightning bolts down onto Diana. One hit from that thing will kill her, there’s no escaping that fact!
Then, a stroke of intelligence shined in that brain of hers, and she immediately went to work. In the span of a few seconds, she turned into her slime form, compressed a small part of her slimy self into a tiny ball, added in her own consciousness into the ball, and fired it out!
*Wooosh!* It went, as Diana, in teeny tiny [Slime Cannon] form, went flying through the air at intense speeds, dodging the previous strikes of lightning, and sending her flying straight into the tower of black light.
The gods hissed as they sent more lightning strikes down upon the Earth, but they could do nothing now.
The plan was, a success!
……………………
…But, y-you know?
This was definitely NOT what she was expecting to see when she first jumped in here.
As of this current moment, she was chained up to the back of a wall, with only a single floating flame lighting the room from above. The stones were purple in colour, and the air was thick and felt more like jello than actual air.
As for how she got here, well……
“Ohoho~, another beautiful specimen!”
“Muu…?”
After she disappeared into the blinding black light, she found herself being carried, or that’s what it felt like at least. Her vision was still blurry then, but she could see herself being moved, watching sets of purple stone bricks pass her by.
Then, a metallic clunk was heard, and after several more metallic clunks, she found herself in this position, arms and legs spread wide, and chained up back against the wall.
“Now now~, my cute little toy, be a good girl and stay here okay~? I’ll prepare my toys first~”
“…T-Toys…?”
And now, we’re back here!
She didn’t manage to see who carried her here and chained her up, but by the voice, it seems like her kidnapper was a woman.
…Oh, and also, those…’toys’. She had a bad feeling about this.
But! She had a secret weapon!
It’s time, to change into her slime form! Bam!
“…Uh, bam!”
Silence.
A single drop of sweat formed on her cheeks, then countless more followed. She tried turning herself into slime, and it didn’t work! Not even a single part of her body changed into a slime!
She tried over and over, but no matter what she did, her body didn’t respond. The obvious answer would be these chains binding her back. Before she could try and break away however-
*Bam!*
“I’m back~”
Slamming the door open with a perhaps too happy face, the woman who carried her in earlier came smashing back into the room, this time with a paper bag of…stuff in her hands.
Now that her head’s clear from all the dizziness caused by the black light, if she could describe her in one word, it’d be ‘gorgeous’. Cause, seriously, she looked beautiful!
Long purple hair, striking red eyes, a slender build, an aura that asserted dominance, and a rack that easily outshined Crystal by miles. If she wasn’t wearing that too happy lewd face, than she would’ve called her the most beautiful woman in the multiverse.
She had a REALLY bad feeling about this.
Slowly, she took out a certain phallic shaped object, and-
*Much lewd noises and moans later*
“Hah~…Hah~…Ngh~!!...Hah~…”
“My my~, you’re so cute~”
H-Honestly, this woman was…well, despite what she believed, she was very good with her hands, let’s just say that.
Seeing that Diana was very exhausted from the ‘torture’ session, the woman giggled and withdrew herself, packing the slimy object she pulled out earlier back into her paper bag. She closed the door behind her and left with a very happy face.
But, since that woman wanted to get a little feisty, she decided to let go of her restraints to get a better vintage point to assault her from. As you might have guessed, this was the perfect chance for Diana to escape!
…Well, she was still a bit tired and numb from the experience, so she decided to rest a bit.
After some of her initial fatigue lessened, she forced herself to turn into her slime form and squeezed herself out using the little gaps under the door. She was a bit too tired to change herself back, so she decided to stick with her slime form and begin her escape.
Thankfully, it was a one-way hallway, so all she needed to do was walk forward. Then again, there was the chance of her accidentally bumping into that woman again and getting herself captured yet again.
But, to hell with it. She felt so incredibly hot right now that her mind wasn’t working as well as it should be. Not that it usually works normally anyways.
For once however, no! It didn’t instantly lead her to getting assaulted again! Instead, all there is was a simple magically enchanted iron door, specifically created to block most physical attacks. Sadly, Diana’s a slime, so all she had to do was squeeze herself out from the little gap on the bottom, and she’s out!
And…man, while she knew this was a place somewhat like hell, she didn’t expect it to look this…awesome.
All around her stretched a plain of purple grass, decorated with several acacia-like trees with black wood and purple leaves. The sun was…well, there’s no sun, but the lighting was still bright enough to allow her to see.
When she turned around, the iron door she just squeezed out of, was no longer there-, well, placing her hand where the door was, she felt the metallic feeling against her skin, so the door’s there, just hidden. It’s probably some magic again.
Thankfully, this place was neither hot or cold, so even in her naked exposed state, she didn’t feel all that uncomfortable, with the exception of maybe the ache in between her legs.
…She didn’t need to explain further, okay?
But, to reflect a bit,
Yep! She did it! While she did end up in a cell(again), she managed to free herself this time. Being kept inside a cell might be a universal constant, but her not escaping sure wasn’t!
Now, where to go?
With some excitement, she looked around at the purple grasslands, trying to spot any points of interest. Some time later, she got herself to slither up one of the few trees in the area and looked around from a higher vintage point.
And far far faaaar~ away in the distance, she could just barely see it, the little tip of what seems to be some sort of…skyscraper? It’s built completely out of stone bricks for sure, but the shape it had reminded her of the few skyscrapers she could recall from her life back on…on…
On where exactly?
…It…seems like, some of her memories were missing now. That’s…somewhat concerning, but now that she’s thought about it over countless eons, was losing memory of her old home planet really all that devastating?
The close friendships she’s built were all on this new world she found herself in, so why should her past be dragged into this as well? That’s what Diana genuinely felt like.
What’s gone is gone, but what’s to come was much a blur. Like the quantum uncertainty principle, the truth of the future remains clouded in questions and mysteries, until she finally sets her eyes upon it and sees what it truly is.
Besi-, oh, and for those shocked that Diana understood what the Quantum Uncertainty Principle is, she learnt it from a scholar that reincarnated into this world and then died. Why she took notice though is a question even I can’t answer.
That all aside however, it was now high time for her to start walking!
Slithering her slimy self down from the tree, she finally remembered to change herself back into her human form and begin walking. Being a slime was nice and all, but the slimy feeling of…everything really just didn’t feel ‘right’.
Little did she know that this trip will ultimately end up causing all humans to die-, no, she knew this was going to happen. She simply realised the futility of doing so and moved forward, ready for the consequences.
Determination burning in her serene blue eyes, she began walking towards the object of interest.
