“Hhmmmmm…”
“Diana…A-Are you done now?”
Leaning her back against the cave walls, Diana grumbled softly as she read over the three skill descriptions once more. If only she had 1 more point, she could just get all three!!

[Energy Burn]
Costs 10 Skill Points to unlock
Lv 1/10
Allows you to rapidly burn through your SP. In return, your stats are boosted by 25%. Your skills cost less MP to use while this burn is active.
[Slime Mend]
Costs 10 Skill Points to unlock
Lv 1/10
Gives the slime you create healing properties. This skill can be toggled on and off. Creating slime while this skill is active consumes 200% more mana.
Seriously, which one should she get?! They all sound so good! [Slime Army] pretty much would turn her into a summoner, [Energy Burn] was a nice situational skill to have, and [Slime Mend] could act as a heal. Why was this so hard?!
“Diana…?”
No, wait. If she had [Slime Army], she could just send them out later in battle and then use her magic as backup, but! If she gets caught creating the slimes, then she’s dead. [Energy Burn] was insanely situational, and she’ll most likely use it when she really needs to survive. [Slime Mend] would act as a great support skill, but does that also extend to enemies? What if her enemy takes hold of the slime and heals? She’d be helping the other team!
Hah…She can’t choose now. You know what? Let’s just pick [Slime Mend] for now, that seems to be the most useful one. Yeah, click!
[Attain [Slime Mend]? Y/N?]
Yes please!
[[Slime Mend] has been acquired]
Huh. No skill points, eh? Well, I guess it does make sense. It would be kind of cheating if she spends her skill points to get some of them in return. But well, what can she do?
“I’m done.”
“Finally! Let’s go.”
Picking her spear up, she turned towards the next tunnel, and went in. Diana soon followed behind, the light of the previous cave slowly dimming down. The yellow flower bloomed on her hair once more, lighting the surrounding dark tunnels.
Their steps echoed against the cave walls, the dark shadows creeping from below. A small surge of magic rumbled within the stone. A slight vibration could be felt coming from within the earth itself. The dryad easily noticed. Diana? Not so much.
They continued through the dark tunnel, the walls around them slowly growing apart as the tunnel grew wider. Small glowing blue crystals grew out from the rocks, a dim blue glow lit within the rocky halls.
Ooh! A mushroom! Could she gather that and sell it to a merchant or something?! That would be great! Oh, wait. She didn’t have her backpack with her. Damnit! She didn’t have any inventory slots available!
And then, a slight crackle could be heard.
“Stop.”
“Eh?”
The dryad took out her spear and held it before her, the tip radiating with natural energy. Her eyes narrowed down as she sensed an incoming force. Diana, still confused, simply readied her knife, the silver edge gleaming blue.
And then, it came out!
“Shhiii!!!”
“Shiiaaa!!”
“H-Hii?! Spiders?!”
Out from the shadows, came a large group of black spiders, their eight red eyes glowing within the dim blue hue. Their poisonous fangs dripped of purple poison, dripping onto the stone grounds.
“Be ready.”
The spiders continued to come. When was this going to stop?! There’s so many of them! What? 50? 100? How many are there?! This is insanity! How were they going to beat this large army of spiders?! She didn’t have any AOE attacks!!
“Shhhii!!!”
The spiders screeched and lunged forward, their fangs open and ready to stab. Their poison ready to kill, that is, until a swing from the right came and knocked the first wave out. Eh?! An explosion sounded from the right, a wave of debris flew out! What the?! She IS a dryad, right?! You know, a spirit and nature and stuff?! What’s with this insane strength!?
“W-Woah.”
She quickly shielded herself from the incoming debris, a trail of dust left behind as the dryad fixed her posture, tapping her spear against the cold stone floor. The spiders stepped back, realising that their prey might not be as easy to kill as they thought.
The dryad clapped her hands together and chanted, an aura of natural energy swirling around her. The spiders quickly charged ahead. A perfect chance for an attack!
“[Slime Cannon]!!”
Holding her staff, she formed a slime ball and shot it out. The slime collided with a small group of spiders, sending them back towards the ground. Hah! Clear hit! Wait, they didn’t die?! And more are coming?!
“[Overgrowth]!”
Large roots grew from the ground, and swallowed the incoming spiders, crushing them apart under the intense force. One by one, the spiders died out as-…Wait, did she just kill them all in one shot? Seriously?
W-Was she just that underpowered?
A minute of silence passed by, and no more spiders came crawling out. Any remaining they spotted would either be crushed by the dryad, or get shot down by Diana’s [Slime Cannon]. Since it was her first test run, she wasn’t very proficient at using it. As a result, she needed about 2 shots to finally destroy just one spider.
“Hah…hah…”
“Are you alright?”
Diana took a deep breath, and let go. The exhaustion from her loss of MP was not pleasant, in the slightest. Her muscles felt like they were going to fall apart from her bones, and her lungs felt like they were being squeezed for all it was worth.
The dryad quickly took out a blue berry, from who knows where, and fed it to her. Diana relaxed as she felt the berry take effect, healing her MP back to at least half of her capacity. Her cheeks loosened as she felt herself slipping away.
Ooohh…Why was she feeling so sleepy so…suddenly…?
“Are you okay?”
“Hmm…? Un…”
She replied back, still struggling against her drowsiness. Standing back up, she yawned and picked her weapons up. 5 more seconds passed, before she dropped her weapons back down. The dryad quickly caught her before she crashed onto the floor.

She didn’t even have any time to read those messages, as she fell asleep in the dryad’s arms.
……………
Some time after, she finally opened her eyes. Her hair flowed behind her as she moved across the rocky floor, her arms wrapping around the dryad, carrying her without much of an effort at all. Her soft steps echoed against the walls around them, a soft blue hue lit the darkness.

Turning her eyes to the front, she watched as they moved further into the cave. Oh, there’s a spide-, okay, it’s dead now. Moving on, she kept walking on, passing by the crushed corpse of the dead spider.
Oh hey, it’s a black bat! Wonder what it’s special attack is-, okay, a vine snapped at it and killed it in one shot. The bat dropped onto the cold floor, its wings snapped off. Sighing softly, the dryad moved past.
Was she just really powerful? Or was Diana just too weak?
Probably the latter.
Although she was pretty much breathing onto her neck now, the dryad didn’t seem to have noticed her waking yet. Or she has, but decided not to call out to her and let her enjoy the ride on her back. If it was the latter, thanks! Her back feels comfortable to lean against…
Hmm? What’s this warmth she’s feeling in her chest? Was she getting sick or something?
“Diana?”
“O-Oh. Did you know?”
She giggled softly and nodded. Rather reluctantly, she stepped down from her back and took back the weapons she had been carrying for her. Wait, did she fight all those monsters while carrying her AND her weapons? Gee, just how strong is she?
Anyways, with Diana back on her feet, the pair continued their journey through the cave. She was still very much tired, and wasting more of her MP would be bad, so she stayed behind and watched as the dryad tore apart another incoming bat. Somehow her spirit seemed to dwindle as she watched a helpless cave rat get squashed under her spear…
Time went by, as more and more denizens of the cave fell prey to the force of nature that walks before them. And that expression actually makes sense, because the dryad is a…well, a dryad! Just tell me how unfunny I am!
Finally, after about 2 hours of watching the enemies get one-sidedly slaughtered by her, she finally arrived at the end of the cave. A large stone door stood before them. Purple runes stretched across the stone surface, pulsating with seemingly infinite magic.
Wait, wasn’t this door too big? How were they going to pas-, oh, you just push it…What?! The door was about 10 times her height! How did the dryad just push that?! With one hand too?! She isn’t some paladin in disguise, is she?
“Come.”
“Uh, yeah.”
Walking past the opened doors, they stepped into the room on the other side. Before them, existed a simple room, a single pedestal of stone standing alone in the centre of it all. A circle of runic letters surrounded it, glowing a soft purple shine. The smell of magic leaked into the air, not that she knew what magic smelled like.
“What’s that?”
“That?”
A surge of magic sparked from the pedestal, flying out into the runic circle around it. The earth began to rumble, as the runes began to rotate around the pedestal. The purple glow brightened, the air vibrating violently. The rocks began to shake, magic swirling within the air.
…Was this another boss room?
“That’s the next boss.”
Yup. Got that correct. Well then, wonder what the boss will be this time? A large serpent? A dragon? A large blue minotaur from a certain anime?
Oh, maybe not.
Out from the glowing circle, rose a large towering figure. His height far surpassed theirs, standing just above 5 metres or so. His large arms twitched as magic moved within. Two demonic horns grew out of his head, his dark brown hair flapping wildly as he fully formed, a large blade formed in his hands, the sword looked oddly similar to a certain hero on his final fantasy.
Did you steal that from Cloud, you bastard?!
“Diana. Be ready.”
“H-Huh? Oh, yeah.”
Taking hold of her staff, she readied herself, her eyes fully locked onto the demon before them. His face remained expressionless as he swung his sword in the air, an air of strength floated within his presence.
Umm, wasn’t she super underpowered? How the f*ck was she supposed to beat this?!
“[Floral Spear]!”
Stepping back, she aimed her vine spear, and threw it! The spear cut through the air, and overflowed with natural energy. A surge of green magic exploded from the spear as it made contact. The demon quickly used his large blade to block the attack, but still got pushed back back. His deep purple eyes stared straight into their souls.
“Diana! Be careful.”
“Y-Yes ma’am!”
Clapping her hands together, the dryad ran straight at the demon. A wave of large roots followed behind her, crawling across the stone floor. Remaining expressionless, he stabbed his sword into the stone, and chanted. The air vibrated violently under his words. The dryad suddenly fell onto her knees, an unseen force weighing on her shoulders.
But such thing would not stop her! Chanting once more, the dryad formed a barrier around her, and charged! Spear in hand, she sent several stabs onto the demon, he in return parrying with his large sword. Their blades clashed under the influx of magic.
Diana simply watched from behind, her eyes looked dead. Her mind was aimlessly wandering around in limbo, wandering when this battle would end. Obviously, she was a sh*t character, and she was way too weak to join. One swing from his fi-, no, one flick from his finger should be enough to kill her soo…nope.
Eh? But isn’t the dryad getting beaten? Her layers after layers of barriers were getting torn down! Her face seems to be covered in sweat, and she was starting to slip up her and then. Ah! She even got kicked back!
Damnit! There was bound to be something she could do!! Come on, even the crappiest characters have some role in the battle, right?! All she needs to do was to find it!!
“[F-Floral Shield]”
A barrier formed around her downed self, blocking the incoming sword strike. The barrier instantly fell apart, as she charged once more with her spear. Stabbing it into his chest, she stepped back and set the spear off, a burst of magic exploded within his body.
“Hah…hah…”
But, the demon stepped out from the dust, his body still standing strong as he brandished his large blade. Raising it above his head, he loaded a burst of mana into his arm and-
*Splash!*
A load of slime landed on his face…What could this nonsense be? Wiping the slime off, he looked at Diana, who was pretty much shaking from top to bottom, her mana still present in the air. Her eyes swam around as she noticed his piercing glare.
The only thoughts the went through her head were ‘Sh*t,sh*t ,sh*t,sh*t,sh*t,sh*t,sh*t,sh*t,sh*t’ Yup, that pretty much sums it up.
“[Ensnare]!”
A large root grew from the stone and coiled around his body, pressing against him in an attempt to crush his bones. Sadly, they were simply a nuisance, as he easily tore them and shook them away.
“Guha?!”
A kick was sent to her chest, as she was blown away. An explosion sounded as she landed into the wall next to her, the walls trembling from the force. She almost shrieked as she heard the explosion next to her.
Sh*t! He’s walking this way!! Oh! This must be the moment when she powers up! You know? Like when the protagonist gets trapped in a tough situation, plot armour comes in and gives them some new power or something! Come on now! Where’s her unique skill?!
“A-Ah…”
Sh*t…He’s standing right before her!! His eyes looked down on her, cold and emotionless. She blinked, and she found the large sword right before he neck, gleaming silver in death. She could almost feel the cold scythe of Sir Death wrapping around her!!
W-Was she going to die? Like this?! Well, she does get a cool way to die, so if she does get a story, a game, or an anime, there should be enough source material to use! Haha! Trying to think positive thoughts in this situation is making it worse!!
*Swing!!*
“Kya?!”
And then he swung!! Luckily, she managed to step back in time, but the staff she was holding took the attack, and got cut in half! Nooo!! Mr. Staff!! Don’t die on her!!
“…Eh?”
Umm…Why was magic leaking out from the staff? And…Why does it look super ominous? It’s like, all black and everything. There wasn’t a demon hiding inside this staff or something crazy…right?
Uhh…Is it sizzling? What was going to-
*BBOOOOOOMM!!!!*
“Gua?!”
A large *Boom!* overtook her as she was sent crashing into the wall. The demon too crashed into the opposite wall, his large blade knocked away from his hands.
“O-Ouch…”
Holy crap…Did she just survive that?! A kick from that demon knocked the dryad unconscious, but that explosion, which did send the demon flying by the way, didn’t kill her yet?! Haha! Thanks, Mr. Staff!
Wait, she wasn’t that hurt?! What the?! Didn’t she just crash into the wall and stuff?! Where’s her large bruise?! Or her awesome scar?! She’s completely unharmed! Was the explosion bugged or something?
Rising from the rubble, the demon stepped out, his face still emotionless despite what had just happened. Seriously, what is this guy made of? Adamantium?
Oh crap, he’s walking towards her again! She didn’t even have her staff anymore! And her silver knife would probably be useless now!! She needed a weapon!
“Oh? That’s…”
Oh hey! That’s the demon’s large blade! Can she even pick that up? Her arms weren’t that strong, not that she had strong arms before she turned into a girl. Ah, think later! The demon’s getting closer!
Running over to the sword, she wrapped her hands around the large blade’s handle, and liifftt!! Nope, it’s not working. Liiffftt!!! Damnit! She’s too weak!
Cursing softly, she formed some slime around the handle, and tried to carry it that way. It did move slightly, but fell down right after. Damnit, even that doesn’t work?! Again she tried, this time cloaking the blade in her slime and then lifting it. And it worked! She was lifting a blade about 2 or 3 times her height! Ah, but her MP was being drained like mad…
“Eh? What’s this?”
Hey, why was the blade shining? Ooh, it’s turned black! Wait, why is it moving downwards? Wait, even her slime is turning black?! What the?! E-Eh?! Her hands are black too?! She tried to let go, but her body wouldn’t move!!
The black element continued to creep further up her body, until finally, her whole body was fully cloaked in black. Her pupils shrunk as she lost consciousness.
Well, sh*t.
………………
“Ngh…?”
Opening her eyes, a dark void surrounded her. Everywhere she looked, all that came back was the void. Eh? Where’s the cave? The dryad? The demon? Her silver knife’s gone too! What the?! Is this limbo or something? Did she die?
“Huh?”
Floating away from her, she could see the demon’s sword, floating there, just, smaller. The blade seems to be about her height now, and black runic lines ran across the blade’s surface. An ominous feeling seemed to pulsate from within.
Eh? It’s getting closer to her? Oh! Is this the part where she gets corrupted and gets turned evil or something?! That would be awesome! Come on! Come closer and turn her evil! Give her cool powers okay?
Eh? What’s this disappointment she could feel from the blade? Eh?! What do you mean you don’t want to corrupt her?! She’s a perfect target! Hey! Why are you floating away?! Look at her damnit!!
Oi. It’s getting farther away. Not wanting to lose the chance of becoming an evil overlord, she ran as fast as she could towards the escaping blade, who seems to be utterly terrified of this terrifying individual. Like hell it could corrupt her! She would corrupt it first!
“Heeeyy!! Don’t run away!!”
Nope, not stopping. The blade continued to float away as fast as it could, hoping this insane girl would just stop chasing it already. Alas, her NEET heart couldn’t be stopped, as she continued to chase the blade.
An hour, or what felt like an hour, passed by, and the blade was getting tired. This girl was still chasing it! When was she going to stop?! Did she have infinite energy or something?! Stop already!
Even the blade was beginning to feel tired as she kept chasing it through the endless void. This girl was insane. Realising that she wasn’t going to be defeated any time soon, the blade stopped running away, and turned to face her.
With a bright smile, she ran towards it and held it in her hands.
“Come on! Turn me on already~!”
…That could be taken in another way, but I digress. Not wanting to deal with her anymore, the blade shined a deep purple as the void around them began to crumble away.
“H-Hey?! Don’t just leave!”
Not listening! Escaping her clutches, the blade floated high into the air, and disappeared into the air. The void faded away, and the she was back in the room she had been before this. But she really wanted to be turned evil! What’s the deal with that blade?!
Oh well, let’s take a read on these messages first!
