Miranda stood in plain view of Paul as he quickly cleaned up the kitchen before heading into the bedroom.
The master bedroom had a projector with outstanding performance. She had previously used it to watch the Global Academic Exchange Conference with him.
But last time, she had to sit on the carpet to maintain a sense of propriety. Now, though, she could comfortably lie on the bed, propped up by cushions, and watch a movie with him.
The night deepened, and the moonlight was bright. By the time the movie ended, it was almost 11:00 pm. Miranda pulled off the thin blanket draped over her. “I’ll go horne now.”
Before she could finish, Paul grabbed her wrist. His rough fingers gently brushed over the soft pulse on her wrist, and the touch sent a shiver down her spine.
You…
His grip was light enough for her to break free easily, but she didn’t. She simply looked up at him.
Their eyes met, and he felt his mouth dry while his Adam’s apple bobbed uncontrollably. “Mimi…”
His voice, low and tender, faded between their lips.
The soft bed, the warm lighting with a slight yellow hue that created an intimate atmosphere, and the soothing movie credits music set the perfect mood. Slowly, the two of them became gradually entangled in each other’s arms. Everything was just perfect.
Paul’s kiss moved from Miranda’s lips to her neck, sucking and inhaling. The sound was soft but intimate. He leaned over her with his arms propped up to keep a small gap between them as he held onto the last threads of his self–control.
“Mimi, can I?”
When their eyes locked, his dark ones brimming with desire. Miranda wanted to respond, but then her phone suddenly rang
Both of them froze.
She quickly grabbed her phone and glanced at the screen. It’s my dad.”
Paul snapped out of his trance as he chuckled softly and rolled off her. He lay flat on the bed with heavy breaths. noveldrama
“Hi, Dad.” Miranda quickly answered after regaining composure.
“Mimi, what are you doing?” Lionel asked.
She quickly glanced at the man beside her. “Just lying down”
Lionel said, “You got nothing else going on? Your mom will study at Luridge College next month, and since I’m on summer break, I’ll go with her. We’ll stay at your place. Is that okay?”
Miranda looked at Paul. “It’s fine. I’ll clean up the guest room.”
“Heh… Your grandparents wanted us to stay at the Garrison estate, but I thought about it–since it is so far from the college and with your mom’s tight schedule, it’ll be a waste of time traveling back and forth. So, we’ll just stay with you. It’s closer and more convenient.”
“Okay,” she replied.
“Alright then. Oh, and besides the braised beef, I’ve also prepared two small jars of fermented sauerkraut. I’m not sure if Paul will like it,” Lionel wondered.
Her father mentioning, Paul made them both tense up.
“He should… like it, right?” Miranda answered, then mouthed to Paul, “Do you eat fermented sauerkraut?”
He nodded lightly. His expression was calm, but his body betrayed him. He was already worked up. His gaze fell on her free hand, and his eyes darkened
Miranda was still listening as Lionel said, “I’ll bring an extra jar for Paul to try. If he likes it, I’ll bring more next
time.”
Suddenly, her palm was pressed to a familiar spot, and her body stiffened.
Paul feigned innocence and loosened his belt buckle. Miranda quickly made up an excuse to end the call abruptly.
On the other end, Lionel was confused by the sudden hang–up and muttered, “Wasn’t she already lying down? Why does she need a bath?”
