Chapter 101

Chapter

The camp was shrouded in uneasy silence after Selene's revelation, the air thick with tension. Aurora stood in the center of the gathering, her silver hair catching the firelight as she processed the magnitude of the threat. Selene's words echoed in her mind: Your child is the key to his reign. He won't stop until he has them.

The Lycan King came forward, his towering form more imposing than anything Aurora had ever seen. Shadow beasts flanked him, their forms oozing with malice. He stood motionless, surveying the camp with a cruel smile.

"Luna," he drawled, his voice deep and resonant. "You can't protect them all."

Cassian was the first to act, leaping forward with a guttural growl as he rallied the pack. "Defensive formation!" he barked, his golden eyes aflame.

The wolves sprang into action, forming a tight line of defense, but the Lycan King raised a hand, and his shadow beasts charged with terrifying speed. Aurora's heart thundered in her chest as Cassian fought at the forefront, his strikes precise but desperate. Selene appeared beside Aurora, her calm demeanor unnerving. "You need to act now," she said sharply. "If you wait, they'll tear through your defenses."

Aurora hesitated, the unborn child stirring within her. But she knew there was no choice. Closing her eyes, she reached for the Celestial Pact, feeling its energy rush through her veins. Her silver hair shimmered, and when her eyes opened, they glowed with an otherworldly light.

With a wave of her hand, beams of silvery light shot toward the shadow beasts, cutting through them like fire through paper. The Lycan King's smile faltered as he stepped back, shielding himself from the radiant energy.noveldrama

Aurora stumbled, the effort leaving her breathless. Cassian was at her side in an instant, his hands steadying her as she swayed. "You're pushing yourself too hard," he said, his voice tinged with both worry and anger.

The Lycan King retreated slowly, his glowing eyes never leaving Aurora. "Next time, Luna," he called, his tone mocking. "You'll choose between your pack and your child."

As the pack regrouped, Cassian carried Aurora back to the central tent. She leaned against him, her head heavy on his shoulder.

"You can't keep doing this," he murmured, his voice breaking slightly. "I can't lose you."

Her lips trembled as she whispered, "You won't." But the doubt in her voice lingered, even as Cassian held her tighter.
