Fenrir's pack.

The journey to Fenrir's territory was long and tense. Elyra rode with Aurora and Cassian, her wide silver eyes drinking in the unfamiliar landscapes. Despite her natural curiosity, she clung to Aurora's arm, her unease growing as they approached the massive gates of The gates opened to reveal a sprawling encampment, wolves bustling about in organized harmony. Banners bearing Fenrir's crest fluttered in the wind, their deep blue hue a stark contrast to the earthy tones of the pack.

"Welcome," a booming voice called out, and Fenrir stepped forward, his presence as commanding as Aurora remembered. His golden eyes swept over them, lingering on her.

"Aurora," he said, his tone warm yet heavy with unspoken history. "It's been too long."

"Not long enough," Cassian muttered under his breath, earning a sharp look from Fenrir.

"This must be Elyra," Fenrir continued, his gaze softening as he looked at the child. Elyra shifted behind Aurora, her small hand gripping tightly.

"She's not here to be paraded," Cassian said, stepping protectively in front of his daughter.

Fenrir raised his hands in mock surrender. "Of course not. Let's discuss things over dinner."

The reception was lavish, the hall decorated with banners and ornate carvings. Elyra's eyes darted around nervously as the wolves of Fenrir's pack stared with open curiosity.

Then Dain appeared. A boy of the same age as Elyra, he had tousled dark hair and striking amber eyes that gleamed with mischief. He sauntered up to Elyra, a confident smirk on his face.

"So, you're the one everyone's fussing over," he said, leaning closer. "Don't look so special to me."

Elyra stiffened, glaring at him. "And you look like you're full of yourself."

Cassian snorted, barely suppressing his amusement, while Aurora hid a smile behind her hand. Fenrir's laughter boomed, but Dain's smirk only widened.noveldrama

"Feisty," he said. "This might be interesting after all."

Elyra narrowed her eyes, her bond flaring briefly as a faint shimmer surrounded her. "Stay away from me."

Dain raised his hands mockingly. "Fine, fine. No need to get all shiny about it."

As the evening wore on, the tension between Fenrir and Cassian grew palpable. Fenrir's charm did little to hide the lingering familiarity he displayed toward Aurora, which only deepened Cassian's scowl. When the dinner ended, Aurora pulled Cassian aside. "We'll get through this. But we need to tread carefully."

Cassian's gaze softened as he looked at her. "I trust you. I just don't trust him."
