The construct moved with terrifying purpose, each step shaking the ground as it unleashed devastating attacks. A single swing of its arm sent a pack of wolves flying, their yelps of pain cutting through the cacophony of battle. Aurora stood her ground, her hands glowing brighter as she channeled the Pact's energy. A dome of light burst forth, shielding the packs from a deadly strike. The effort left her staggering, her breath ragged. "Hold the line!" Erya bellowed, rallying the wolves as they regrouped. His moon wolves formed a protective barrier around Aurora, their luminous forms standing firm against the tide of shadow beasts. Cassian pulled Aurora aside, his voice urgent. "You can't keep this up. The Pact's energy is draining you. If you collapse"

"Then everything is lost," she interrupted, her resolve unshaken. "We don't have time to be cautious."

Anica, darting between fallen wolves and shadow beasts, reached Aurora's side with a grim expression. "The construct is tied to the Heart, but its energy is unstable. If we can disrupt its core, it might collapse under its own weight." "How?" Cassian demanded, slicing through a shadow beast as he spoke.

"The core is protected inside the fortress," Anica explained. "We'll need to infiltrate it and sever the connection directly."

Cassian's jaw tightened. "I'll lead the team."

Aurora's eyes widened. "No. It's too dangerous. I should go—"

"No," he said firmly, his voice leaving no room for argument. "You're the only one who can hold the line. We need you here."noveldrama

Despite her protests, Aurora nodded, the weight of the decision heavy on her shoulders. She watched as Cassian and a small group of wolves, including Anica, broke away from the main force and disappeared into the shadows, heading toward the fortress.

Turning back to the battlefield, Aurora clenched her fists, summoning another surge of light to repel the advancing shadow beasts. The construct loomed closer, its corrupted energy intensifying as it roared and swiped at the wolves. Aurora braced herself, determined to hold the line until Cassian could complete his mission.
