The ancient door groaned as it swung open, revealing a swirling expanse of light and shadow beyond its threshold. The energy emanating from the portal was intoxicating, tugging at Elyra and Dain with a force that seemed to resonate in their very bones. "Do you feel that?" Elyra whispered, her voice filled with awe and trepidation.
Dain nodded, his orange eyes fixed on the undulating currents of energy. "It's like it's... calling us," he said, gripping her hand tightly. "We go together."
As they stepped through, the light and shadow enveloped them, the air thick with memories they hadn't known existed. Visions of a silver-haired woman cradling a baby and a fierce man with golden eyes standing protectively beside her flashed before Elyra's eyes. She gasped, clutching at her chest as warmth and longing washed over her.
Dain's breath hitched as images of a roaring wolf with fiery orange eyes and a powerful, commanding presence filled his mind. He stumbled but regained his footing, gripping Elyra's hand tighter.
When they emerged on the other side, the landscape unfolded before them-familiar yet changed. The air was heavy with magic, the trees taller and more vibrant than any in the mortal realm. Rolling hills stretched into the distance, and towering mountains loomed against a silver sky illuminated by twin moons.
"This is it," Elyra said, her voice trembling. Her golden eyes scanned the horizon. "We're back."
Dain surveyed the terrain, his instincts sharp as he noted the signs of life nearby. Smoke curled lazily from a distant chimney, and the faint hum of voices carried on the wind. "It's the heart of the werewolf world," he said. "The same world. But it's not just anywhere... this is their territory. Fenrir and Aurora's."
Elyra's heart raced, both with excitement and fear. The land felt like it was alive, pulsating with an energy she didn't fully understand but yearned to know.
"This is where it all began," she whispered.
"And where it might all end," Dain added, his tone protective and firm.
