Cannons were firing at the ships. Missiles gave chase. Anti-air blasting with all their might. The ship wasn't even shaking it was just taking the hits without much care. Captain Morgan glanced at the front of the ship, where Raven was standing at the front with his Raven's Eye. Pulling the bolt as he took aim from above. Infusing aura and mana in one go. Not using a Persona just wanted to see how he would fare with his current state. Sighting an artillery crew, squeezing the trigger as he fired a shot. Recoil sent him falling on his ass.
"How was the shot, Morgan?"
"That crew's decimated, Chancellor." That was good but the recoil? Damn, Raven could feel his shoulder cracking as a result of that. He should do more dungeons. His stats? Well the system just told him that it's recalibrating because of the new developments and it was 'Upgrading'. Hell whatever that means.
"Alright, send them out." With those words, Assault Brakers leaped from behind. The tank and quad legs took positions by the deck, armed with artillery cannons to bombard the enemies in the distance. The bipeds, the hover legs and the high speed Breakers went to engage the enemy forces below. Fighter planes and bombers launched from the sides. Then glancing at the tanks and armored vehicles that breezed through the hellish gunfire. A Hunter stopped an APC from moving forward.
"You won't be able to get past me!" The Hunter spoke, confident in the strength. Only to see the driver ready a plasma pistol that was charging fast.
"What do you th-" A tap of a button which forced the windshield to slide downwards, a shot that blew off the Hunter's head. Then flooring the accelerator to run over the body. Tapping the button as the driver turned to the people in the backseat. Jack and his squad of Durandals who were standing by. Guns locked and loaded while some wielded longswords as per the namesake.
"You can open it."
"Come back, alive sir!" Smacking the button by the right dashboard, opening the sides as the Jack led his Durandal team outside. Leaping into the air as serpent blades gave chase after the regular soldiers.
"Fear the First Blade!" The War cry of Durandal as they headed forward, unleashing the might of their machine cannons. Helicopters were bringing forth allies with chopper gunners providing suppressing fire.
"This is far as we'll go, Foxes!"
"Good enough for us. Let's go!" The Foxes jumped out from the hatch, immediately getting ready to work. Moving fast as they did not have time to confirm the kills. Soldiers of Latelica were gunning at them but the Foxes threw smoke grenades to throw off their aim. Knives in hand as they got close to slit some throats. The smoke subsided as they see artillery raining from above.
"Coats on!" Readying their coats as the shockwave from the bombardment kicked up the dirt and dust. They felt their bones rattle from the sheer shockwave, they managed to stay out of the general area of the detonation but that shockwave was strong. It was pushing them back a few steps but the coat protected them from the shrapnel
"We can't be freezing up like amateurs! Forward!" The Foxes pranced through the battlefield, taking soldiers with surprise. Aisha and Rodin were collecting heads with their kopis, machine cannons fired away at them. Only for the Book Keepers to remain standing, the Shade Enforcer's Tattoo becoming an additional stack of defense. Soldiers were horrified as they felt the danger. The ones who were attacking them had the Hunters on the edge. A Hunter who raised barriers to stop the advance had met his end with a harpoon to the head. A soldier was trying to radio their HQ, only for Stevenson to blow the head off. Moving ahead as Crimson King leaped into the battlefield, swinging his blade relentlessly.
A pair of sickles that harvested the soldiers before him, then combining it into a scythe. Going over to reap his next set of kills. It was just madness as Hunters of Latelica were trying to hold them back. Only for javelins to strike into their body and another Hunter being torn apart in half. Wiseman and Specter were readying their weapons. Wiseman's javelins took the Hunters by surprise as Specter readied his heavy pistol, firing a shot that left a gaping hole inside of a tank. Wiseman firing off his crossbow through the hole, causing explosions within.
They brought out their familiars, dragons, skeletons, vampires and beasts. A large army came about as Raven just stood at the top with Dolores, Aquila, Stervy and Falco by his side.
"That's a large army... What do you want to do?"
"You know what's scary?" The other five had their eyebrows raised, trying to decipher what Raven had meant.
"Drowning." Raven whistled as they see a great tide rise from the oceans behind them. Raven's allies knew what that meant as they see boards flew into their reach, all of them getting on one or sharing it with another ally. The Assault Breakers flew at the allied tank and APCs, bringing them up to the ship. The Vanguard Operator allies put on their rebreather masks, so did Bruin and Besters. Raven's Fangs got up to join the others. Helicopters and planes returned back to the side.
"Trinity, Utopia, Little Wing, Fair Wind. Raise the shutters, switch off all engines. Keep everything in reserve power."
"Aye Chancellor!" The tide kept on rising, it was reaching the sky. The four ships rocked as they landed on the waves.
"Should we head inside?"
"No need. Let's watch a good show. Drown them Deep Down." The tide crashed onto the ground, violently pushing the entire city before them. The civilians who were caught in the rage found themselves inside of bubbles. So did most of the soldiers and Hunters. They could see a blue haired man seated on a throne with a spear by his shoulder. Goblin sharks, gigantic octopuses, giant squids, oarfish, the dwellers of the deep had come out to play. Giant lobsters, giant crabs. Everything was by the blue haired man's words. The sheer force of the tide ground the familiars to dust, as Hunters felt the helplessness. It was insanity, how could they face an enemy of this much power?
A child glanced at Deep Down, who just walked over with a smile. Then seeing a few smaller fish swarming over to his side. Dolphins, whales and the like. The sharks gave chase, going after any surviving familiar. A vampire felt helpless as sharks tore them to pieces, orcas that attacked a dragon. Tearing the wings off and then feasting upon its carcass. Several buildings were being uprooted, the debris and pieces becoming a staircase for Deep Down to make his move.
Deep Down took a step forward as he was brought up to the top, where he glanced at Raven who was just smoking a cigarette. A bored expression but he didn't seem too bothered by what Deep Down did.
"Didn't want to kill them?" Deep Down's suit faded off, revealing a scarred body wearing a pair of shorts with a surfboard in his hand.
"I apologize if I went against your word,Most Evil Being."
"It's fine. I wasn't planning to kill these people anyway. Besides, being inside the ocean where the bubbles could pop at anytime? That's hell in its own right. Drowning an entire country sounds fun doesn't it?" Deep Down merely grinned as he surfed on his board. A hoverboard made its way to Raven's side. Putting his feet on it.
"Come on. Let's go have some fun. I mean we're here, might as well just cause some chaos while we're at it. Good winds. Hover boards are like surfing but in the air." Raven put the board as he flew upwards. Riding the wave as he readied his Raven's Eye, scoping out the targets from a distance. Spotting another army that was making its way to their position. Planting the stock of the rifle into his shoulder, eye on the scope. Focusing aura on his fingertip, a tap on the hoverboard to force it into a stable position.
"How's it looking Raven?"
"Looking good. Say, siblings. Let's go wild for a bit. You want to take care of that group?"
"Sure. Still getting used to the hoverboards though."
"Ah, you can just leap over to them. Hoverboards are only useful to keep yourselves afloat in the meantime. So you don't use up too much of mana all at once. Then again Deep Down can swallow them all whole and have the fish eat it for us. Then we eat the fish. Circle of life kinda thing."
"Is that what you meant by eating people?" Falco asked as Raven glanced over to them. Seeing Falco stretching his limbs, Stervy applying a spray of some sort of debuffs for his use.Dolores readying her mace and shield as Aquila prepared his sabers.
"No, I actually ate people. Though I did use the slang of Long Pig a lot. Part of being an eldritch and all. Humans taste crap unless you grill them. Or unless you satiate your appetite with their fears. Not recommended if you're human though. Your body will instinctively reject it." Silence on the radio as the four of them leaped past Raven.
"Why would you... Assume that we'd try that?"
"Oh not you three, but Stervy..." Raven heard blood splattering on the radio as he just relaxed on the hoverboard. Watching the army being torn apart by his siblings actions. A yawn crept up as Raven used his heel to have the hoverboard expand itself, letting Raven just lie down. Basking in the sun as his siblings made quick work of that army.
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
"Think the Sovereigns are on our tails?"
"They know we're here. Got any hypothesis, Raven?" Raven got back on his feet as an Exoskeleton soldier on a hoverboard passed him an MRE. Which Raven took his seat on his board, prepping his meal. A quick look at what his siblings were doing. Falco sent a tank flying into the air, Stervy piercing through it with his blade. Aquila unleashing aura waves that left nothing in his path. Dolores unleashing her barrier, turning it into a gigantic ball. A good kick, forcing the barrier to roll over the entire area. Crushing the tanks and armored vehicles.
Helicopters? Well that's a shame because Falco and Stervy handled it. Stervy was experimenting with his Fissure skill, seeing if he could leave damage on the bodies of the helicopters.
"I don't know how Sovereigns work. Particularly not these three since... I didn't face them. Most likely they were killed by the more invasive Sovereigns. Remember I hunted Sovereigns back then, so I know how most of them work. From what I understand, Latelica's Sovereigns will only move when the trouble is great. Or when their land is threatened. But if they're silent, they always have a reason." Raven said as he waited for his MRE to boil. It was a special stew that would allow one to recover their fatigue quickly. It was good seeing them fight against the army.
They didn't smile, they just kept a stern face. Rather sorrowful because they were killing other humans. Raven on the other hand, enjoyed slaying others. But only when there's a reason for it. The three Sovereigns of Latelica...
The giant of war, Mundus who was known as a valiant warrior wielding a pair of axes.
The serpent that reigns the heavens, the one who was said to be as long as 4 kilometers and size that would resemble that of a building. Huican and the third Sovereign, the First King of Latelica, Belmont the Sword Master.
"Hey, I'll be right back. I'm going to head off somewhere."
"Where you headed off to?"
"To go find the three Sovereigns." Raven said as he downed his stew, placing it back into the MRE meal bag where an Exoskeleton soldier held on to it.
"Sorry bout asking you to clean up after me. Tell the others they've got free reign on their next missions and plans. Deep Down, if they ask you to flood the next set of areas, do as you please."
"By your command, my friend." Raven flew away on the hoverboard, the Latelican soldiers and anti-air went after him but he just shot their missiles out of the air. He wasn't bothered by them right now, what concerned him more was the three Sovereigns. They should pop out by now since they know he's going to lay waste in the country. So what is holding them back?
Vinter : The Sovereigns are tied down. With you being there, means I can see what's going on. It's at the capital. Use your Eye of madness.
"Great, that's annoying." Raven said as he flew straight to the capital, where his eyes glowed azure. Leaving trails of blue following him, glancing at the view. Where he could feel the Sovereign's presence, within a man made pond. Diving straight into it. Ignoring the buildings and the like. Going in where he found something making noise in the ground. Diving deeper and deeper into it, all that he could think. Using wind mana to circulate oxygen into his body.
Swimming deep as he found a gigantic whirlpool that began to raise its arm and pull him in. Wait... Why does a whirlpool have an a- Before he could do anything, Raven's leg was caught.
WELL. FUCK. The whirlpool pulled him into another sort of chaos. Finding the Huican's body wrapped around Mundus and Belmont. This? This was nothing short of a demigod that made the mess. Huican's gigantic eye opened up. The heavy breathing and pained groans reached his ears.
"War... God?" Huican spoke weakly.
"Easy, there great serpent. For you three to be here... It must be a demigod's doing. I'll free you in a bit."
"Not so fast... Meddler." A voice crawled to his spine as Raven raised his blade to block the attack. A humanoid being that had no nose, only a pair of eyes and a grin.
"Ertia. Should've known this was your scheme. Bet you must've used some good bait to get the three of them locked up like this."
"He has the child! The last true royal descendant of Latelica!" Huican spoke before Ertia ripped the serpent's eye out with his hand.
"Now now... You shouldn't be telling the meddler about th-" A punch to the face that sent Ertia out of the area, letting water flood inward. Slashing the chains that bound the serpent free.
"Get the child, Huican. I plan to turn this place into nothing short of a memory soon. Bring it to the four newly made Sovereigns. My siblings. Tell them that Raven sent you."
"But that is..."
"I got this. Just go." Huican did not say much as the serpent pierced through the sky where Raven took a blow from Ertia. The sheer shock of it sent Raven flying out of the pond. Piercing through a few dozen buildings. Finding himself standing in a meeting room of some company. Getting back on his feet, patting the dust away as he lit a cigarette. Ertia appeared in front of him, piercing straight into Raven's gut.
"How does it feel? To be pierced by my hand?" Glancing at Raven's face, expecting despair. Only to see a bored expression. Raven's hair grew long, as his eyes turned azure. A flick that sent straight through the buildings, stretching his limbs as he turned to the company that was having a presentation.
"Sorry for ruining your presentation. Hunter business. Anyway, I'm going to destroy this place. So you best get going." Raven leaped out as he drew the Starbringer. Shoving the barrel straight at Ertia's face.
"Do you think that a gun can kill me?" Infusing it with aura as Raven stomped on Ertia's chest, forcing the demigod to open its mouth. Driving the barrel into it, pulling the trigger as the sheer shockwave caused a massive earthquake. Buildings began collapsing all around him. Middle finger pulling the lever, ejecting the spent shell as he reloaded another one. Seeing Ertia fly up to the sky, gathering spheres of mana all around the body, From a marble it turned into the size of gigantic spheres the size of a huge boulder.
Launching it to where Raven was. A shockwave of an explosion, only dust and rubble.
"That should be enough."
"Or is it?" Ertia turned to take another shot to the head, bursting the entire body away. Regenerating instantly but the pain was evident. A lance to strike through the chest, then bringing out the sabers of Zeal to pierce into the shoulders. Seeing Ertia squirm a little from the pain as Raven brought out a sledgehammer, one good swing that sent Ertia into the sky. Spitting the butt of his damaged cigarette, Raven yawned as he gave chase after Ertia.
"Gah! How dare you! How d-" Raven readied a bat, imbuing it with mana and aura that had one purpose. A swing that sent Ertia to another galaxy as a whole. Most likely he crashed into a few planets but he was going to worry about that later. Whistling to what he just did.
"Home run. I guess?" Raven thought as he gave chase, Ertia had pierced through a few planets but that wasn't going to be enough. Raven got close as he unleashed Thousand Eyes, lacerating the demigod right down to mere particles. Desperate in trying to reform the body and escaping but caught within Raven's trap. A gigantic net that wrapped the demigod in mana and aura.
"No! My plan! How could this be?! You were supposed to be weak! That your powers are limited!?"
"Yeah. It's supposed to be, but I don't feel much recoil. In fact there's no recoil at all. Technically I've been through enough pain to not give a shit. So good luck, trying to make me give a fuck. Now let's spend some time to get to know each other. We're far away so I can fight you without giving a damn."
"You arrogant h-" Raven shoved his boot right through Ertia's jaw, as he flattened the demigod beneath his boot. Seeing the white liquid splattering on it.
"Ew. Your blood smells. Ever heard of a shower?!" The demigod reformed once more, unleashing planet sized elemental spheres once more. Raven just let out a sigh.
"Come on. That's not original anymore. Don't you have any other attacks?!"
"Silence! You! You damned human!"
"Go on, take your time. I can wait." Raven said as he watched the spheres grow bigger. It was most likely going to be the size of Earth's Sun but he was mostly curious to see how much bigger can it get. Ertia took the time to create it, his eyes glued on Raven who pulled up a thermos to drink some tea. Then reading a book. Then watching a TV show on his tablet.
"Super Magical Girl!" The audio was loud but in the vacuum of space, Raven could hear it. What he expected was the typical cute magical girls but what he got? Super buffed up magical dudes in school uniforms. His brain was trying to process that but it was hilarious though. It blew his expectations and when Ertia launched the elements, Raven just got back on his feet, drawing out a jikdo as he slashed them in half. Ertia's jaw fell as the last thing he saw was a blade slashing the head off.
Ertia's body regenerated but Raven was already tearing him apart again.
"My plan... How could it foil to a mere... Human?"
"That's because he's the War God, you idiot." Raven turned to Vinter who made his appearance. The entire area turned into Vinter's chapel, where everything had been prepared. Meals to be served as Raven glanced at the other Gods in attendance.
"Handle him. Anyway, which one of you blessed Latelica?" None of them raised their hands.
"Great, so I'm going to turn it to dust. Anyway, Vinter. Thanks for settling this for me." Vinter was cutting his steak, seeing it at medium rare with the nice thick black pepper sauce poured over it.
"Of course. Have fun." The gods raised their glass at Raven who just vanished, returning back to find Huican, Mundus and Belmont by the ship. Huican floating casually by the side of Fair Winds while Mundus walked. Belmont held a child in his hands, where Raven found Arcian and Sichilde spending time talking to the Swordmaster.
"Raven..."
"The child's the last member of the Royal Family before it was taken over by the current fools. I may wish to raise him as a son."
"If he's under you, Your Majesty. He'll be a fine King. You plan to teach him the Reach Swordsmanship?"
"Perhaps. Depending on how the boy grows. He's... He's nothing more than a child. 5 years old from what I've been told. Sichilde's technique would also be useful. I cannot order you this time but..."
"Don't worry. This place will be left with nothing." Raven said as he lit his cigar, walking out to take a ride on Huican's snout.
"War God. Why are you on my head?"
"To enjoy the breeze. I might turn Latelica into nothing but a ghost town after this... But hearing about that child, it's got me thinking that the people are victims in my onslaught."
"I can bring them to safety with my powers... I ask that you punish the usurpers of the throne... Violently." The serpent spoke as Raven turned to the pair of giant eyes.
"I mean you can just trap them into a special hell of your own creation. Throw them there and have your rage quelled. You're angrier than me."
"You are merciful, War God."
"Think of it as a loan, Huican. For now, you, Mundus and Belmont should remain hidden. I've got a certain dungeon that's been linked to me. Stay there for a while. Spend time with some people who aren't horrible. Gather your strength in that world because the mana is stronger in that world. Easier to gather your lost strength. When we reach the capital, form by the child's side and announce your decree."
"A sound plan..." Raven leaped back on the ship, snapping his fingers to create portals for the three to leave. His siblings walked over to his side by the launching deck.
"We heard about it... So what's the plan now?"
"We'll let the three of them bestow judgement on them. In the meant time. Let's get some kills in. Oh and that demigod? He's about to be beaten to near death by the Supreme God. So leave it at that."
