The past 4 days, Raven and Fenris went out on a duo excursion against the lich army and the wyverns. Narrowing the combat area with the various Specialized Valkyrie Teams. Maximus, Whiteout, 7th Gate, 3rd Door and plenty more. Battle hardened Valkyries that were a mix of the First to the latest 7th generation Valkyries. The combat area had been narrowed down with fighter jets getting prepped for a heavy war.
Raven glanced at his tickets. The past 4 days tickets had given him 4 10 Pulls. It was worrisome, for if Raven remembered the rules of Gacha. It may be difficult to pull on Valor. He was hopeful to pull Valor even one or two of them would be good. Taking a deep breath as the door with the slot machine opened up. He held the handle, taking a deep breath. Feeling his hands tremble because he would hope to see that there'd be a way to minimize casualties. The reports had Raven reading the Valkyries taking a beating despite their victories. Most of them were going through rehabilitation and repairs. Which concerned Raven a lot.

Warcrest stepping out in his indigo glory, armed to the teeth with the gatling guns, missiles and artillery. A skull face plate with pronounced fangs. Bulky armor with multiple layers that let him resound as the Storm of Valor. Regal stepped out in his full white uniform with his faceplate only showing his eyes. Lacking any other feature, his assault rifle 'Gallant' was ready in his hands.
"Scorpio, Fenris. Seems like the four survivors of Valor are reunited. Warcrest... Can't say it is good to see you."
"Not excited about teaming up with you after the whole underground stunt." Warcrest turned to Raven, seeing his human appearance. Messing up Raven's hair, then pinching his cheek.
"Twerp. You went through a lot."
"Scorpio... Was this why you kept on fighting? Even when the three of us left it all behind?" Regal inquired with his deep voice. A contrast to Warcrest's raspy voice.
"I couldn't do anything for Rosenfelt. A population of 7 million turned to just cadavers. It was only after I went through the trial that Vinter gave me. The world got reset. I get another do over."
"You plan to bring the commander back at some point?"
"I want to, but this takes priority." Raven said as he put on his Scorpio mask, seeing the other three Valors give a nod. The door of his room opened up, where Laria stood before them.
"The Grand Chancellor calls for you all."
"Thank you, Laria. We'll head there now." Raven said as he led the Valors to the room. Seeing the members of the other squads being present. Injured, weakened and they seemed to be feeling the strain of combat on them. Maximus was in the worst shape, Elara's arm was missing. Mako had her legs destroyed and Vale was only a torso.
"Hunter Ashenworth... Who are they?"
"My allies. The members of Valor that were with me until we went our separate ways. Fenris, the Sword of Valor. Warcrest, the Storm of Valor and Regal, the Nobel of Valor." Raven introduced as Fenris gave a nod, Warcrest put an electronic cigar to his jaw while Regal gave a bow.
"I regret to inform you that while you were resting. The wyvern army and the lich armies have attacked us. Most of the squads may not be able to join the operation. We have to resort to defending the civilian areas... I.. I apologize."
"It's a tough decision. But prioritize your people. Valkyries are still human on the inside after all." Warcrest spoke as they see the smoke being emitted from his electronic cigar. Seeing it glow blue as the smoke was vented out via the nose area.
"Wait... How do you..." Hildr was lost for words.
"We're one and the same. Every Valiant is human. Your decision, Grand Chancellor. Is for the safety of those after you and one you have to weigh. But, put your trust in us. We are the equals to your squad. Each of us birthed legends in our time but we left because... Humans turned its back on each other. We became savages."
"And I run the savages. So don't go pissin' on them too much, Regal."
"I lack a better word to describe the insanity that is over there, Warcrest. I will not apologize if that's what you hope. But do not cut me off." Warcrest just shrugged his shoulders.
"Leave this to the four of us. I only require ammunition. Warcrest will need access to whatever explosive material you have. Corrosive, electric, aura focused and elemental focused explosive material would benefit him. Fenris will simply require a few throwing knives, tomahawks and other equipment. Scorpio?"
"I'm fine with my own gear."
If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
"Why... Why would you risk so much? You just got here..." Mako spoke up as her eyes were flooded with tears. Regal walked on over to the young one, patting her head. Pulling out a handkerchief to wipe her tears.
"We don't need a reason." Warcrest said as he puffed out the smoke.
"You're weak. You're pathetic and you're being beaten by damned skeletons and a bunch of fucking reptiles. Just leave it to the four of us. What's their number like again?"
"Roughly near a million skeletons, 50 liches, about half a million wyverns. Sounds like Tuesday morning to me." Fenris reported as he lit an electronic cigar for himself too.
"Tch. Only that and you're struggling. I hacked through your combat data logs and read everything. Yes, including the need to know crap you hid. You haven't faced enough shit to steel your resolve. That's why you're weak and pathetic. We faced dragons the size of a fucking mountain coming in by the droves. We had to hold a single damned entrance for 2 months as humans were being evacuated underground. Facing more than what you did. We lost our limbs but we kept on fighting. I bit through a fucking dragon's neck with my damned teeth just to get them to fuck off. We ripped out the limbs of our dead Valors that were by our side and shoved them right into our bodies. You don't have that fucking resolve!" Warcrest shouted which silenced all of them.
"But. The Grand Chancellor has that resolve. It takes a shit ton of thinking to throw that twerp into the lava pit and like the fucking jackass he is. He'll do it to protect this place. Why? Because it's important to you and you requested him to come here as support. I'm not even mad, in fact. I'm impressed. The Grand Chancellor is one of the first Valkyries. I've read her reports and holy shit did she prove herself in those fights with her squad. But, fighting on the battlefields alone can be tiring and it can hurt the mind in more ways than one. Choosing to retire to keep the people you protected safe, isn't a bad thing. But you gotta teach your squads that resolve. Hey, Scorpio."
"Yeah?"
"When do you want to start?"
"Now." He put on his Scorpio mask. Warcrest, Fenris and Regal followed Raven outside. The sight of the civilians who were waiting for food, the Valkyries who had their strengths waning by the second. A child bumped into Warcrest, with Regal catching the child's back with his hand.
"Be careful, little one." the child ran back to her mother's side. The sight of it, it was familiar to the four Valors. Familiar in a way that had a bitter taste in their mouths. They felt their blood boil, clenching their hands as they kept on moving. The bell rang three times, signaling the army's arrival within their range. The Valkyries that could fight grabbed their weapons and headed to their defensive positions by the wall. Setting up their cannons and turrets. The Valors?
They just headed out the front gate. Rods ejected from Raven's shoulder, activating the recon drones that began to fly about. Scanning the area as Raven relayed the information to the other three Valors. Looking through the scope of Raven's Eye, seeing the masked S-Rank Hunter who was present. Seeing a few more Hunters in the mix, wearing masks and holding swords.
"What about those humans?"
"I'm about to test something." Raven took aim at the masked figure, firing a shot. Seeing three Hunters stand in front of it. Taking the hit which ripped their clothes. Poorly armored but their eyes? It was like they were dead in the first place. Worms churning in their bodies, seeing the eyes fall out. The masked Hunter raised their hand, gesturing forward as the armies began their move.
"Guess we're doing it!" Warcrest unleashed his missiles that launched upward, spreading wide open as the payload was being dropped. Following it up with blasts from his back mounted artillery cannons. Scarring the ground as he skidded on his tank threads. Fenris ran ahead as he drew the Three Wolves, slaying the oncoming skeletons. Springing off their corpses to the wyverns in the sky. Warcrest dashed forward, unleashing the storm of lead with his gatling guns. Skeletons tried to hold onto him, a desperate attempt to slow Warcrest down. Regal on the other hand was firing his rifle, emptying magazines quickly as he shot the heads off the skeletons. Disorienting them while Warcrest would just crash through their bodies.
Raven kept on firing Raven's Eye at the Hunter with the mask, seeing the zombie Hunters be blown off to bits while the masked Hunter stood there without a care in the world. Regal fired a bunker buster grenade, the Lich's raised a barrier. Stopping it dead in its tracks.
"Hm... I suppose they must be more powerful than we thought." Regal spoke as he swapped the underbarrel bunker buster grenade for a revolving grenade launcher. Despite the three shots, the barrier withstood the attack. Raven fired the Raven's Eye again, watching the bullets pierce through the first layer but stopped at the final layer. Right before the Hunter's eye.
"This'll be annoying." Raven dropped the spent magazine as he shoved another one in. Warcrest closed the distance, dashing forward. A shoulder charge. Yet, he was bounced off into the air as a result.
"Oh that is bullshit." Warcrest grumbled as he recovered mid-air, crashing into a wyvern, then forcing his body weight on the wyvern. Seeing it squirm as they crashed into the ground. Fenris went after it, slicing through the barriers but the last barrier stopped the blade. A skeleton swung an axe into his back, grabbing his sheath as he bashed the skeleton's head off. Then getting the distance away.
"Scorpio?" Fenris went after the wyverns and nearby skeletons instead. The rule had always been to back off and kill off the rabble then go for the commander if it's not running.
"It's a multi layered barrier." Raven said as he fired a few more shots with the rifle. Ducking to dodge a wyvern's breath, drawing out a revolver to fire a shot that blew off its head.
"Yeah, no shit twerp! Brilliant deduction!" Warcrest spoke as he headbutted a wyvern's head, forcing it to shift backwards as the gatling guns acted as the finisher.
"Multiple layers. Does it weaken our attack with each layer?"
"That's the idea." Raven said as he heard the rifle click. A skeleton swung its bone axe at him, loading the new magazine then smacking the skeleton's head with the rifle. Hearing the bolt release go off, Raven continued firing into the others.
"Warcrest! Fenris!"
"I got it, I got it! Stop working me like a damn slave driver, Regal!" The destruction of the wyverns and skeleton army was done within mere seconds as Warcrest and Fenris's attacks thinned the herd, with Raven and Regal heading into the thick smoke. Using it as cover as the pair got close to the liches, blasting away fast shots before heading to the masked Hunter.Driving Raven's Eye and the bunker buster grenade at point blank range. Firing into it, seeing the Hunter fly out from the smoke. Floating in the air creating shields made of bones from the cadavers of the skeletons and wyverns.
"This will not do... The Gorefast Empire will have the Valkyries. There is nothing you can do to sto-" Raven fired a shot, whereby her skeletal shields shattered. Followed by Fenris slashing at her. A narrow escape from the blade but it left her unguarded. As a headbutt from Warcrest that sent her flying even further.
"Those damned mach-" By the time she recovered, all she could see was the barrel of Regal's Gallant.
"Wait! You c-" Regal pulled the trigger, only to see another figure stopping the bullet. A strike that sent Regal flying backwards, landing on his feet as he skidded 40 steps away. A winged being, with horns by the head. It was a chimera, along with other Hunters that were floating. One of them was fully armored with a black cloak.
"Executioner. Execute that one." The Executioner made its move to Raven who just stood there. The Executioner was sent flying from a kick by Warcrest. Dashing forward to go after Raven, avoiding Fenris and Warcrest as he got close. Only for Raven to take off the mask, then swapping to Abyss Gaze to push the Executioner's fist back with just a flick.
"Executioner Arbiter!"
"The Empire will ensure that you and your family will die. You have interrupted something precious to us. You will pay for this." The Executioner warned, only for the Executioner to see his allies fall to the ground. Then seeing their limbs collected in Raven's hands. Holding them all like fans, then throwing it back at the Executioner. The Executioner glared at Raven only for Raven's azure eyes to gaze back at him. The skill 'Gaze Into Abyss' failed as a result of the fanatical devotion by the Executioner.
"Rosenfelt deserves peace. The Valkyries deserve peace."
"They are merely tools." That was the typical argument for those who view the Valkyries as tools.
"Just leave before I change my mind. This is my only warning." The Executioner and the winged being grabbed their fellows. Leaving in silence. While Raven kept glaring at them the entire time.
"Sure it's a good idea to le that one leave? You were lucky twerp."
"I have to. That's my brother. He's been mind controlled and only way I can get this sorted? Is if I get another Persona back. Let's head back." Raven said as he made a phone call to Aquila.
"Hey, how's it going?"
"I found Falco. The Gorrister Empire might try something. So make sure you tell Ulfang and Inzaka that they have the greenlight to do whatever it takes to keep your family safe."
"Damn... So.. What are you going to do?"
"My system's different from yours. I don't have levels. I can only increase my stats via dungeon clearing. Oh right. I summoned some allies but it'll take a while. If they try anything you let me know. I need to use something on them when they do."
"Got it. You take care too." Raven hung up as he glanced at the shards he received.

A Most Evil Being. Raven had to keep his thoughts in check but Grand Exorcist was a weird one. In actuality it's an S-Tier but it's F-Tier because of how temperamental the skills are. But with this the dungeon break threats to Rosenfelt are over. Now all that Raven needed to do was go into dungeons with the others by his side. Grand Exorcists needed to make contracts with spirits and horrors.
Raven turned to Warcrest, Fenris and Regal who were waiting for what he will do next.
"Let's report this back to the Chancellor. Seems like things are getting worse by the minute." Raven said as they just looked around at their handiwork.
"Not bad for a bunch of old bastards, eh?"
"We are Valors after all. This outcome was assured."
"Kid brother pulled his weight more this time around. So anyway... We should take it easy for the next few days. These joints need to be repaired." Fenris spoke as the others began to laugh. It was a custom for them to talk about how easy it was after all missions. A ritual that they upheld, even today.
