The void. A place where no human sanity would be able to survive. Void Agents could do so because they were able to maintain their thoughts within this wretched place. The very fabric that made up reality was already in a state of a mess. Air thickened by the gasses produced by some of the horrors. The fleshy ground was alive, terraforming to form shapes reminiscent to that of buildings in the human world. Horrors moved according to their mother's words.
All humans must perish. For mother. For mother. For mother. Devour humans. Bring tribute. Devour Humans. Bring Tribute. Their thoughts echoed as they hunted any poor souls that were left behind here. An agony of screams that would be silenced by the feasting horrors. Pulsating walls made up of human flesh and fresh corpses. Horrors moved about as they began to search for their next meal. The young horrors began to feast on the flesh wall. Suckling on the nourishment of blood oozing out of it. The ones with teeth would gnaw away at the flesh, licking the bones clean.
A maelstrom of colors would glance down upon the ground. Dancing in harmony as the constellations above would shine brighter than the sun itself. Beyond the horizons of the horrors, the named horrors lie in wait. One particular horror, the one who was enamored by a singular human. The Mother of Horrors would sit on her throne made up of human corpses. 15 horrors knelt before her, keeping their eyes on the ground. Unable to meet their mother's gaze. Humanoid in shape but clad in a variety of clothes and armors. Some had weapons. Some did not.
"Children... Children... I believe that the plan to unleash our matured ones would be enough. Yet, it seems that we have failed. Why?" The gentleness of her words hid the violence within her as her children were trembling right before her. A skeletal cat on her lap, stroking its head as a mewl broke the silence.
"Forgive me, mother! I had believed that it was enough! I had not expected him to be strong!" One of the children spoke up. Standing on their feet with a blade to the neck. Readying to pay the price for failure.
"My daughter. Do not harm yourself. That human was interesting. I never thought that a survivor would exist from when I tore the Marvelina Senate. I paid him a visit."
"Then mother, were you able to convert him!?" Mother shook her head, which disappointed the children.
"I was thinking of having him as my husband." Those words alerted the children to the possibility.
"Mother, I do not mean to be rude but... Having that man as your husband? Is it possible?" The wisest of her children spoke, deliberation was spent on that child's mind before he spoke. Whereas the others were still staggered from the shock of the possibility of a father.
"I had believed it so, but he is unfazed by horrors. He does not fear us. He only hates us. If I can convert him, he would be perfect. His blood tasted ravishing. Yet.. For once I only wish to have him all to myself. It was as if his blood was like nectar itself. An elixir with a taste that I cannot forget... Enough of that. How goes the plan?"
"It is proceeding smoothly, mother. We can begin our attack at any moment. The juveniles and matured ones are ready. Where shall we begin? Marvelina?"
"No. That would be too obvious. Start this out slowly, make sure to move the cracks in such a way that they cannot be tracked. We shall save Marvelina for last. They have gotten stronger right now. And my children. Be safe." With those words her children faded away, as their Mother would be seated on her throne. Bidding her time to play. All she could think off was Raven. The sight of him in that room was all she wanted to see. She wanted to hear him scream. She wanted to hear him beg for mercy. She wanted to hear so many things that would come out of that sweet, lovely voice of his.
For now, that will be a different matter.
What was Raven doing? Currently hanging out in a pub with the other Valors. Drinking alcohol and enjoying some good burgers and sliders. The pub's patrons kept glancing at them, a familiarity to Raven. Sipping on their beers, telling jokes and stories.
"Seems like quite a few ladies been eyeing us for a bit, gents." Regal remarked as he sipped on his wine.
"What? You want to try your luck? Come on, Regal. You only woo fancy ladies in fancy restaurants."
"And who was the one who spread that rumor, I wonder?" A glare at Warcrest who just grinned back. Vesper and Fenris were betting on who would win if a brawl occurred.
"Don't go on a brawl. Take it to the snooker table."
"Yeah, you're right." Raven paid the meal as they went to the snooker table with cigarettes in their mouths.
"After you, Scorpio." Raven passed them the cues as Fenris set it up for them. Raven took the first shot, breaking the formation of red balls. Scoring two of them in the corners. Vesper took the second shot. A clean miss where he just groaned in disappointment as the others took their shots. Regal fared the best among the four.
"Gah, if we played with the commander. We'd be the ones losing way faster than anyone else!" Warcrest spoke in protest as the others just watched Raven take another point. Cigarettes parked on their lips. Their game however, was interrupted by Raven's phone. Checking the ID 'Tracy Willers'
"What is it, Willers?"
"Mister President, check the TV!" Fenris turned to the bartender, asking them to change the TV screen. Which showed a neighboring country, Bleossau which was under attack by a swarm of horrors. It was bad, they barely could handle the situation. Buildings were being smashed.
"We're moving out or what?"
"If we leave, can the Void Agents handle the rest? That's my concern."
"Mister President... You can't be serious!?"
"Bleossau is an allied country, we can't just leave them in their situation. Regal, Warcrest, check on the agents. Vesper, you have command from this point onwards. Fenris, join me on this. Willers, I'm leaving command to Vesper. Tell everyone to listen to his commands. We need to make sure our country is secure!" Raven and Fenris bolted out the pub door. Getting on their bikes to ride to the nearest VS Suit hangar.
"President!?"
"Is it ready?"
"We've only did basic maintenance on it... But.."
"Then what about my three piece?"
"Your suit? That's prepared but..." The mechanics saw Raven put on the three piece suit with the katana and knife slotted in their places. Knife on the back of his hip while the katana to his left hip.
"I'll make due with this. Fenris, how's your unit?" Fenris had stepped into his VS suit, the system activated as he grabbed the Three Wolves Void Mark 1.
"Good to go, Scorpio!"
"Then take us there. Full speed." Raven said as he grabbed Fenris's hand who pulled Raven in for a bridal carry. Boosting into the air to get to Bleossau.
"You sure you're fine with this?"
"It's not like you got a place I can hold. Your suit's not designed for that. How long till we reach there?"
"Half an hour. I'm going as fast as I can." Raven then received a pop up.

"Thousand Eyes. Crimson Rain Petal's Aura Stage, Crimson Rain Petal's Crimson Petals. Save Abyss Gaze's Gloves, Raven's Eye, Mutilate Mastery, Ardous Gleam and Thrilling Performance." Raven whispered as he felt his body surge with power.

Due to this world lacking in aura and mana energy.
Void energy will now be substituted to create aura.
This technique will be called Rift Surge.
Rift Surge however, needs to be accumulated. It will be displayed on your HUD when using the VS Suit and by your watch when wearing the three piece suit.
Which means you'll need to kill horrors or be within a crack to use it.
The rift is the substitute for aura and mana.
"Got some new powers?"
"Yeah. Aura doesn't exist in this world but if we're in the void crack or kill horrors, we can get it charged up and spend it at once. It's called Rift Surge. How close are we?"
"Seconds away." Raven could see the patches of black smoke, the horrors this time consisted of giants and the varying smaller ones. Screams of the civilians, watching a helicopter be eaten whole by a horror. That was enough to spur Raven's hatred for them.
"Throw me at the giant."
"Got it!" Holding onto Fenris's hands tightly as Fenris spiraled in the air, flying upwards as he sent Raven downwards. A dive bombing attack with Thousand Eyes. It's design had shifted to suit this world. No longer webbing but the blade itself now had a radiating blue edge. The eyes became shutters that opened up to reveal a blue energy lurking within as Raven spun downwards. splitting the gigantic horror's head to belly. Parting it in half when he heard a beep from his watch.
'Void Energy Charge at 100%' Seeing the humans who were inside, some of them were being partially digested. Their wounds were bad but Raven turned to the Bleossau military and police.
"They are alive! Rescue your people!"
"But who are you!?"
"Scorpio of Valor." Raven said as he dashed ahead, seeing the dozens of horrors that were getting close to the panicked civilians. Skidding on his feet as the shutters from Thousand Eyes began to glow, Unleashing lasers that struck down the horrors as blue petals appeared from the sides. Blowing in from the movements of his blade. Slashing the horrors but it wasn't effective to kill them. Mainly cripple their moving body parts. Raven had to do the rest of it himself. Limiting their movements was the first step as the knife became the finisher. Mutilating the parts as he heard another beep. Feeling the void energies surging through his suit, radiating an azure glow as Raven went forward to engage the horrors.
Bolting ahead, waiting for the optimal time to draw. Weaving to the thick of it, none of them paid attention to him.
"FOR MOTHER!" Drawing the blade as Thousand Eyes took the entirety of the charge. Erasing the horrors as the blood splashed on Raven's face and clothes. Another beep as the charge had refilled itself. Fenris crushed a horror with a hard landing, drawing out One Wolf, Two Wolf. Slashing his path to victory as the void energies formed the rift over his body. Leaping into the air as he unleashed sword waves that chased after the horrors. Homing in like a pack of wolves going after their prey. Limbs flew into the air, followed by bisecting them into smaller pieces.
"I should've went with the gloves... Fuck. I'll play with what I got then." Raven said as he readied his katana and knife. Slashing through the horrors.
"Scorpio! Up there!" Raven glanced to the sky, seeing two children who were staring at him. Their skin was similar to the Mother of Horrors, but their child like appearance was another annoyance for Raven.
"Look, brother! It's him! The one mother wants for a husband!"
"But sister, mother said to not fight him!" Raven's charge gave him the chance but he was going to kill the others first. Horrors within his line of sight, drawing the blade to eliminate them as the beep from his watch cued him on his void energy. Ignoring the siblings bickering as he went to go after the others with his knife. Putting them down fast as civilians were heavily at risk.
"Wow! He killed so many of them so fast!"
"Sister, we should be careful. We should run!" The siblings continued to bicker where Fenris headed out to handle the rest of the ones nearby. Casting his gaze upon the siblings who continued their bickering, if they were under direct words from their mother. It means that they were going to be following it to the letter. It's a bet that Raven would hope, even if it was a risky one.
"What? Not going to attack us, Mister Human?" The sister spoke up with arrogance that matched her fancy gown.
"No. If you're not going to attack me, I'm not going to attack you. I'll kill the horrors though." The two of them vanished, then reappearing from behind.
"But what if we take you to mother?!" Petals emerged from Raven's side, forcing them to let go. Leaping a good 20 blocks away, grazed by the petals as a cigarette was seen in the midst of the sudden gale of petals. Surrounding Raven. They could see the azure gaze and the ember.
"That's just a warning." The sharpness of his voice froze the two siblings as Raven walked past them. In that brief moment, they fell on their knees. Unable to turn their heads to watch what Raven had done. Everything was in their earshot. Screams and whispers from the horrors reached their ears. Footsteps thundered to their ears as Raven put a pair of teddy bears into their hands.
"Tell your mother that she raised her children well." Raven said as he ruffled their hair, their eyes spoke confusion as their mouths gaped open. Words could not escape their throats, like a blade had been lodged to keep their words sealed.
"Give her a message for me. I'll be making my way into the void soon. Within two months from now. See you then." The pair of siblings grew wings from their backs, fluttering it upwards as the sky ruptured. Cracking as the glass pieces began to fall. Heavy pounding as the openings unveiled the appendages, multiple eyes and mouths being seen. Whispering their omens of madness. Fenris stormed to Raven's side with his Three Wolves. The cracks raining down upon them as the sea of people made their move away. The Bleossau's Void Agencies were evacuating people. An agent escorting a family of five, panic in the eyes. Tears falling from his face, desperation and that sensation of hopelessness kicking in. When a large shard of the crack falling in their path, Raven parried it away with his sheath. The ones behind him were unscathed but not him.
"Scorpio!" Raven's left hand was shaking. He must've fractured something.
"This is too much for us, we should pull back! We've done enough!"
"We pull back and that thing rampages around? The ones behind us die. Did you forget Fenris? That I spent my battles alone?" Fenris let out a sigh, sheathing his blades as he smacked his own face.
"Sorry. Seems like I felt the fear kick in. Nearly gave into it."
"Then pull back, Fenris. There's more of them in other sectors. Vesper?"
"Warcrest and Regal grabbed the best agents we got and are close. They're 3 minutes away."
"Then make sure they stay out of my way." Raven said as the crack gave in, seeing a gigantic humanoid being falling to the ground. Towering the buildings with appendages and tendrils flailing about in search of prey. An amalgam of faces stitched poorly by an amateur seamstress. The singular screech. Made up of voices of varying ages and genders brought the fear within the hearts of all those who witnessed it. Raven leaped over to its face, katana in hand as he struck a blow that tore off one of the stitched faces. Beneath had more eyes and mouths lying in wait. The tongues began to flail about. One coiling onto Raven's arm, a tighter hold that damaged his left arm even further.
Swinging the blade to damage it as Raven unleashed the rift that surged from his body to lacerate the horror, a single tongue flailed at Raven. Flying into a building with his back, breaking through walls of concrete and meshes. His bones? Definitely fractured and some broken. His nerves? Numb. His vision? Blurred beyond belief. He must've taken a lot of damage to do this much. Coughing out blood. Lungs drowning in his own blood. Yet, a grin to his face. Seeing a bunch of duct tape to the side as Raven moved whatever that his left hand could muster. Wrapping ludicrous amount of tape and bandages to his right hand.
I just need it for the knife. His body was screaming as the pangs of pain would hit his body like a truck running a man over. Step by step, his mind fell back into madness. Raven can only die if he truly has reached the point of no return. The point where even his will is broken. Glaring back at the titan sized horror that began to laugh at his feeble appearance. Fragile and weak. Defiance of the highest order, Raven did not hesitate to leap at the horror.
Barely weaving through as Raven used the fullness of the rift. Letting it surge from his hands.Bleeding into his skin as the petals began to follow his very thoughts. His very desires. To kill the damned horror before him. Lacerating the faces off to reveal the eyes and mouths lying in wait. Coiling over his limbs, as rows of teeth began to gnaw into his flesh. Only for Raven's madness to win over the pain. His skin torn off, as Raven kept going as his watch's beep was the only thing he could hear.
Petals lacerated the tongues and rows of teeth that were taking away bits of his strength. No matter the foe, the War God never backs down. And he wasn't going to do that now. Even if he was weakened and body broken. Adrenaline fueling his veins. Rage fueling his hand. The wrath exerted through his knife. The bulge of his veins filled with void energy. The rift was getting unstable, surging all over his body as Raven felt his skin tore apart, exposing his muscles to the hateful air.
Slashing through the eyes and mouth, creating an opening as he crawled inside, constantly swimming the horror's blood as Raven made his way downwards. Going straight for the heart. Swimming within the horror's blood, ingesting some of it as he felt his body's instinct to gouge it out of him. Reaching the heart as Raven could see that it was the size of a car, beating fast as Raven clawed his way through. Nothing was going to stop him this time around. He was going to just make it work.
By hook, by crook. Whatever it takes. This is the price he'll need to wager to reap the harvest. The horror's organs began to strike at him, turning Raven into a punching bag and a feast but the knife still struck the target. Gritting his teeth as he numbed the senses of pain. The knife lost its edge as Raven felt the heavy drag with the stabs. Both hands intertwined over the grip as he just kept pushing it downwards. The cut was no longer smooth, pushing and pulling to hack through as his back was pierced with a few blade-like appendages.
The chunks of his might, the chipped strength that lingered as Raven forced himself with the rift's surging energy to cut through the heart. Nothing was going to stop him as Raven got through, down to one knee. Hearing the horror's scream as it fell which sent Raven flying inside the innards. Tumbling like clothes in a dryer. The sound of blade meeting flesh kept him conscious. The last thing he saw was Fenris standing in front of him.
"Scorpio's badly hurt!" Fenris carried Raven out, where all he could hear was the voices. Feeling the many eyes watching him.
"How bad is it, Regal?"
"Bad. He needs medical attention. Fractured bones, but his ribs are digging into his heart. His lungs are refusing oxygen." Putting an oxygen mask on Raven's face as they placed him on a stretcher. That was the last thing he could hear. Breathing through the mask. Glimpses of the faces of Bleossau's residents, the sight of the Void Agents offering him a salute. He could muster a smile for them. That much he could do before his consciousness faded.
