51- Chasing Tempest

51- Chasing Tempest

Soren and Skadi groaned as they struggled to get to their feet. They were no longer in pain, it was actually quite the contrary, they felt amazing. They did not possess the energy to immediately spring up and bolt through the smugglers tunnel entrance. Once the two rose to their feet they chased after Tempest, but they had to proceed with caution as they had no idea what to expect from her transformation. The smugglers tunnel was twenty feet wide and about equal in height l, whoever had dug the tunnel out either had to have used quite a number if people or a few people with earth magic. Upon reaching the first check point in the smugglers tunnel they came to an outpost like structure. A wooden wall was erected within the confines of the tunnels shape with a wooden door located at its center. Unfortunately for the smugglers, Tempest had already been through the area, there were three bodies torn apart. Their blood painted the walls of the tunnel and the floor was littered with body parts, the wooden door was left hanging on a single hinge as it was ripped open. "Well, I suppose we are on the right path, shall we pick up the pace," asked Soren as their brisk walk turned into a light jog. Light flickered on the tunnels walls as lit sconces became more prevalent which did nothing but to better reveal the gore left in Tempest's wake. After rounding a corner a whimpering noise could be heard coming from a wooden cage of sorts. "The guard dogs or wolves they had probably shit themselves and refused their master's command just from the scent alone a werewolf is one of the apex predators of the world," Skadi theorized.

As they continued, they passed by countless barrels. Skadi opened one, "Its liquor, this much would off set a town's or city's economy." They also passed by quite a few weapons of various makes, quality, and types but nothing as good as what they were currently using. They found piece of jewelry that they had to pick up since quite a bit of magic was emanating from it. Soren picked up the circular, golden piece of jewelry and played with it in his hands for a moment [Inspect]

'Nice! I'll give it to Tempest since she's the only one out of us three that doesn't have regeneration,' thought Soren.

Tempest's POV

Tempest tore her way through the smugglers tunnel guards that hindered her path became the paint that decorated the flat surfaces around her. During her frenzy every kill washed her with a euphoric feeling becoming drunk with power. As the bodies hit the floor and the life left their eyes the percentage was slowly filling up.

Tempest tore through a wooden door leading to the next part of the smuggler's tunnel and another group of people tried to bar her path. Tempest ripped into them as easily as a knife cut tofu. Killing nearly thirty people should have left some wounds on Tempest but whenever she had dealt damage to someone the wounds inflicted on her would heal, the more damage done the more healing she had received. The pain turned to a strangely pleasurable feeling as her wounds would sometimes instantly heal and sometimes heal after two or three enemies. As the percentage for the assimilation increased so did her stats, and her size. By the time she reached a shaft that led upward to the next section of the smuggler's tunnel she was near sixty percent assimilation, she leapt into the shaft and her claws had easily pierced the stone walls as she began to scale them disappearing into the darkness.

"We've got a good haul downstairs, and another one coming in. A big one, after this last shipment we need to lay low for a while boys it'll be a big pay off," said a giant of a man named Bernard. This man was the leader of the smugglers and he was built like a brick wall. He stood nearly seven feet tall and weighed close to four hundred pounds. Upon first glance you would assume him to be a fat slouch, but this couldn't be further from the truth. His arms from his shoulder to his forearms were corded with muscle and his legs were strong enough to leave his foot imprint into solid rock if he so chose, underneath the beer gut was a layer of muscle strong enough that one would be hard pressed to deal damage to him. The men around him cheered. It had been a while since they were able to enjoy their spoils, and after waiting a long time for their heat to die down they were ready to start caravanning around for profits, woman, and wine. Bernard was now directing his team of people to quickly and orderly unpack the newly arrived smuggled goods. As he was pointing towards a particular heavy item that had a few of his men were attending to an explosion of wood and metal came hurling from behind him. "Blazing hell!, " he shouted, "What happened?" Tempest had moved far too quickly no one was able to see the black and silver werewolf launch herself through the shaft doors. She found herself in a short of castle and had landed on one of the ramparts overlooking the fortress. She could see the confusion down below as her blood lust was starting to peak, her mouth salivating, she prepped herself to launch downwards at the nearest smuggler. "There's the intruder!" One of the body guards of Bernard shouted, but it was far too late the rampart had shattered from the force of her legs kicking off as she propelled herself like a rocket. It was complete chaos; screams echoed through the fortress, blood pooled the ground, parts of the wall collapsed.

The percentage was going up steadily, both for the number of people going down, and the strength of the person. The body guards of Bernard were worth five percent a piece but there was no one able to stand up to Tempest in her blood rage state. There were only two people left, Bernard and his right hand man Sal. Tempest went to impale Bernard with all five of her large clawed hands before being able to make contact, however, Sal jumped in the way and Bernard shouted out as the five claws could be seen protruding out of Sal's back. Sal dropped to the floor still, his eyes open and lifeless.

Tempest felt she was overflowing with power, she had never felt so good before. She attributed most of the good feeling to being ranked up to Countess, an alpha at Earl or Countess is leagues above an alpha at Baron or Baroness. During an alphas time they may never rank up either it depends on their ability. For instance her father was an alpha of several packs but he was only a Marquess, and she was now only one rank below him. Still even if she had jumped straight to Marchioness there would be a huge difference between her father and herself. Now that she felt much more in control of herself she got a better look, she had grown several feet in height her body now packed with muscle, her claws sharper, her fur a darker shade of black while her silver shown ever brighter as well. The man that was ordering people around was dwarfed by her new size and he stood before her white as a ghost, his legs visibly trying to move but refusing his brain's commands. She had utterly decimated his fortress, but now that she had her sanity back she was content to not add to her body count so she did something she had never thought about doing till just now. [Infectious Bite] her mouth opened wide as she crunched down onto the man's shoulder who let out a blood curdling scream, he dropped to the ground and began to spasm and twitch. Blood streaked across his chest as he dug his nails through his skin as if he was in an attempt to rid his body of his own skin. After a couple minutes an eight foot tall lycanthrope was standing before her. "Transform to your human form," Tempest ordered through a rough growl. Bernard knowing instinctually what to do shrunk down until he was in his human form again, his clothes torn in various places. "Fetch me some clothes," Tempest ordered him around again. Although scared Bernard was not used to be the one to bend to others will but his body betrayed his intentions as he went to fetch cloths for the alpha. Once he had returned and Tempest had transformed back she began getting dressed and explained the pack rules to him, the interesting part to him was that he was able to challenge her monthly to a duel for both her ranking and to be alpha instead of him being a beta, but he had no illusions of being able to do that currently. She told him that the full moon was a week away and to prepare because his first full moon would be a rough one, but to take pride that he was turned to a full lycan and didn't have to work up from being only a werewolf. He bowed and began to set off to prepare as per his orders, "Now," she said to herself, "what shall I name my pack?"
