Greg looked down the ravine and saw nothing but black and whistled, "swiisssl that's deep, well boy get down there and scout it out for us." Soren rebutted, "Um...I can only hunt basic creatures that's why I'm your porter..."
"If you die or get attacked we will have an idea of what's down there and can more easily save you. So get going!!"
As Greg Spartin kicks Soren in the chest forcing him into the ravine. Soren screamed," Aaaaaarg!" Screaming in combination of the horrific fall and the pain from being kicked in the chest, he sped down the ravine fear reaching him as he felt swallowed by the darkness. During his plummet, he started to feel anxious by just how deep into the earth he is entering. He barely had the time to lament as he felt his life was now over, a blob of blood and gore at the bottom of this ravine, but a few seconds later he sees something reflective as he nears the bottom. "Please be deep enough " he prayed. James started to laugh, " Hmm it appears to be deep enough since he's still kickin'." They heard a big splash of water, Evan looked at the others questionably, "The time it took him to reach the bottom he must've fallen a thousand feet at least! Though it appears nothing has attacked him yet"
The three looked at each other and began to prepare for their descent down the ravine paying close attention to any sign of Soren getting attacked. At the bottom of the ravine Soren burst forth from the water gasping for air, after hitting the water from that height his body hurt terribly. "Those assholes, I should go ahead and start exploring before they end up killing me with another stunt of theirs."
Scanning around for an entrance of some kind was proving extremely difficult with the dismal amount of light that was able to make it to the floor of the ravine. Fumbling around with his hands he was able to find a ledge and pull himself up. Squinting his eyesight along with wall he noticed a small hole just the size of a man, luckily he'll have an easier time than the men following his suit. He turned himself sideways and slid into the crevasse. The moment he had entered he had reached behind him and pulled out a small dagger. He was proficient with blades and was hoping that he would be able to do enough damage to whatever was in here that it would deter it from making him its meal. He shimmied through the crevasse quickly paying close attention to his surroundings. 'This tight space makes me feel like I can't breathe.'
His pulse and breaths frantically try to keep up with the impeding doom his mind was inflicting on himself. Feeling like the walls were caving in around him he frequently had to wipe the perspiration from his eyes, every step a drop would fall of the end of his nose, the walls slick as he used his hands to shimmy his way through. He was at a point in the crevasse that he covered too much distance to turn back but could not see the end, he started to hyperventilate as strange noises he did not recognize reverberated around him like a cacophony of death making the hairs on the back of his neck stand up. Reaching the end of his endurance just when he was ready to turn around his feet fell out from under him as he started to descend at great speeds as if on a slide. He slid to a stop in ankle deep water, "Uhh" he questioned.
He started to groan until his eyes spotted a giant ogre, easily a C class monster known for its absurd strength, ill temper, and lucky for Soren, low intelligence. Every monster, adventurer, mercenary, mage and the like is given a rank. A grading scale for how strong, dangerous, influential or combination of several factors for an overall rating, the scale goes from F to SSS. He hastily covered his mouth with his hands as to not wake the sleeping giant. He slid his feet forward as quietly as he could not lifting his feet completely out of the water to prevent splashing. Soren watched the ogre with razor focus, almost daring not to breath, looking for the first sign of it waking. Soren circumnavigating the ogre he noticed a small glimmer of light on a pedestal at the top of the stairs directly behind the ogre, the light so bright he could not look at it directly. The light seemed to call to him, his thoughts strayed from the fear of the ogre to the curiosity of the bright tangible light. His mouth went dry and he licked his lips as he quietly made is way to the shiny artifact. Slowly and carefully he made his way up one stair at a time, he eventually made it high enough to where he didn't have to worry about stepping through water only 20 feet left to go. 15 feet, almost there, 10 feet... Soren paused and listened.

{Aaaahaaaaahhhaa} {SPWHISHHHH}
A loud splash was heard as three people came barreling into the ogres den. "HOLY SHIT WHAT THE FU....," James started to shout but quickly teetered off as he saw the 12 foot ogre laying there snoozing. The 3 of them shivered at what almost came to be, they were strong to each single handedly take on a D class monster, but the gap between monster ranks was enormous. It was definitely beneficial for them to just sneak around it. They moved quickly and quietly until Evan jabbed a bony elbow into Greg's ribs making him cough slightly. Greg immediately grabbed the collar of Evan in a show of strength to illustrate to Evan what the hierarchy of the group was, especially in physical combat. Evan simply pointed, following his line of sight Greg noticed at the top of the altar was Soren reaching out for a shiny glowing object so bright they could not properly see what it was. It didn't matter to Greg what it was he was not going to let some weak no named brat like Soren take it for himself, this was their groups rise to the rich and famous. Soren stretched out his arm, fingers opened wide inches away from the object as a metal spike emerged, pierced straight through Soren's hand and immediately screamed, "AAAAAAAAAAHHHH" as blood oozed slowly out, a few drops dripping onto the pedestal of the shiny object shaped as an eight pointed star.
{RRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAARRRG}
Skin paled in the room as the four slowly turned to look to where the roar came from. All four party members froze in terror Soren could feel cold sweat down his back as if he could physically feel a target being placed on him.
{Hummmmmgggr}
The eight sided star hummed, the 12 foot tall ogre woke up in a furry, its sole purpose is protecting the artifact. It gazed up at Soren its eyes narrowed and went red with rage. Soren swallowed hard the saliva seemed to have evaporated from his mouth, the ogre lunged for Soren closing the distance between them with only a couple giant strides. Swinging its enormous club towards Soren, barely dodging out of the way he fell down the side of the shrine. Tumbling head over heel down the side he plunked into the foot of water that covered the entire dungeon's floor. The ogre beat its chest, the three adventurers could feel the magic coming off the creature. There are few ogres that can cast magic, but creatures of magic have an aura about them, an aura that is not felt on a normal animal like a bear. Its this aura that qualifies things as monsters instead of animals, only those that are sensitive to the aura can know for certain, though some monsters have learned to mask that aura. As waves of the aura pummel the team in dungeon, a small screen that goes unnoticed popped up above the artifact in a language that none of them would have been able to read.
