Soren's eyes went wide at his swordsmanship skill, it just reached level five and now the system is telling him it can evolve.
I have to check this out, my swordsmanship can improve by a lot. Now I'll have to carefully consider what to choose.

A rush of knowledge flooded into Soren's mind as a phantom performed techniques and footwork repeatedly over and over, he would now need some time to practice to fully adopt the fighting style.

The Dominating Titan guild sent over the three requested members; a ninja that possessed a trap master ability in case there was a physical trap laid out for them, a drunken brawler that was a bear folk beast man of the polar variety. He wore an armored belly band with no shirt or shoes and pants with built in ankle wraps. The third was a pyromancer able to cover the rest of their parties weaknesses. The three of them traversed through the woods from a different direction than the town. They took their time circumventing the clearing to make sure they came from the west as opposed from the guild hall or the town itself. The ninja class adventurer was an tabby cat beast man, who stood four and a half feet tall named Tinker, a fitting name for one with the trap master ability. He was accompanied by Brok the polar ursine who also carried a giant gourd on his back, and a skinny young man named Samuel who had orange colored robes. Tinker had gone ahead snuck through the whole area wearing a cloak that used leaves and brush from his surroundings making him incredibly difficult to pick out, he inspected the entire area in a 200 meter circumference looking for magical or physical traps but found none. Tinker laid on the ground underneath his camouflaged cloak and waited, meanwhile Samuel sat in a meditative state and slowly became invisible. He really was not invisible, as a pyromancer invisibility is not within the skill set. However, what is fire but heat, and what is heat but energy, and a form of energy is light. Using this logic he was able to bend the rays of light around him making him appear invisible, which is close enough for his recon mission. He was sitting in his meditative state because it increased his mana regen enough to where he could sit there invisible indefinitely waiting to ambush the target. The one who would have the hardest time hiding would easily be Brok, not only because he was stark white but also that he stood nearly nine feet in height. Brok had his own unique solution to his predicament and that was don't hide at all. Instead, once he got a mile outside the designated location, he slowed down his walking to almost baby steps popped his gourd off his back and started drinking. He would sway to and froe, walk crooked and hiccup occasionally. He was far enough away by the meetup time that he would not be in the clearing when things kicked off, but close enough that if his teammates needed help he'd be able to make it there. Current time a quarter hour till midday.

Soren and Skadi were slouched against the trunk of a tree high up in a branch directly above the clearing looking out watching and waiting. They were there since first light. Soren did not trust that James would show up, after all cowardice was the man's true nature. The had watched the man in orange robes disappear once he got close to the clearing.
Hmm seems to be an invisibility spell of some kind.
Towards the supposed meet up time they had heard some rustling down below but had not seen anything. Soren turned to Skadi, "Well, Skadi it seems they mean to ambush me, but we can turn this on them once they reveal themselves come join in on the fun."
Skadi smiled and nodded her understanding. Soren used his claws to repel down from the tree towards the north a few hundred meters from the clearing. Once Soren had made it into the clearing he stood in the center standing tall with his arms crossed, knowing full well that James was not coming. " COME OUT JAMES YOU SNIVELLING COWARD," challenged Soren. There was no response, just a small breeze that ran through the clearing. Soren waited a few minutes and nothing seemed to happen, so he made his way to the edge of the clearing as if he was leaving.

"Aaarrgh, " cried Soren as he looked down and saw a sword sticking through his stomach. He turned around to see a small figure covered in a leaf and brush cloak piercing him with a katana type sword. "I'm sorry you must die now, maybe next time weak people should not bite off more than they can chew," threatened Tinker.
Soren smiled and went to make a grab for the small person that stabbed him, Tinker leapt backwards leaving the sword still impaled. Soren removed the blade and in horror Tinker watched as the wound visibly healed itself.

"I think its now my turn," Soren declared. As he went to walk forward the mage in orange revealed himself and had a giant fireball conjured, which was launched directly at Soren. The whole clearing had been went up in flames Tinker standing there watching for signs of movement when hairs on the back of Tinker's neck went up. {crunch} Skadi fell from the top of the trees landing directly on top of Tinker, Skadi rolled to her feet and Tinker was still dazed barely able to move.

Both Tinker and Samuel looked up to see Soren walking out of the fire, his skin looked charred his hair seemingly melted away, but with no difficulty. The two of them were able to see the skin and hair on Soren's body rejuvenate itself, they were so shocked they stood there and watched as Soren's body pieced itself back together.
'Just what is this monster! I put so much mana into that attack, I tried to burn him so badly that it wouldn't even leave evidence let alone severe burns that are healing on the spot," thought Samuel.
Skadi had now walked up to Tinker and wrapped one of her giant hands around his throat crushing the life out of him. Soren grabbed his sword out of his storage and charged the pyromancer, eager to test his new swordsmanship skills.

A giant flame went off in the clearing it was clearly the sign that they may need more help than anticipated. Brok took off like a rocket making a beeline for the clearing. He watched a woman drop from the tree.
'Oh no! It may be a counter ambush I've got to hurry,' thought Brok
He activated [whirlwind sprint], one of the more basic skills in his arsenal to increase his speed momentarily. He was reaching the clearing and was astonished, the man was coming out of the fire and healing himself while his guildmember Tinker was ensnared by a one handed choke hold. He witnessed the man pull a sword out of no where and charge Samuel. He only had time to save one of his members, but who should he choose? He didn't know if he'd make it in time to save Samuel so he chose to break up the giant woman and Tinker. He lamented Samuels fate as he watched him get pierced through with a sword he could swear he saw a red aura around the sword but was unsure
He made it just in time to save Tinker, [flying kick] was used as he jumped into the air. It was almost as if he warped over there kicked the woman sending her flying into the brush. Tinker dropped onto the ground, and was not moving. Brok bent down inspecting Tinker's condition, his throat had been crushed and there was an absence of light in his eyes. He glanced over his shoulder and saw the man standing over Samuel removing is sword from his comrades chest. Skadi had now come out of the brush, her arm lightly bleeding from the last minute guard she did in desperation. She had walked over to Soren and the two of them watched Brok take his gourd and pour a little of its contents on Tinker and repeat the process with Samuel. After completing his ritual, he downed the remainder of the gourd as his intent became clear.
"He seems like a good match for you, let's see what you got," Soren said as he gave her a "good game" slap on her posterior. She glared at Soren before punching him squarely in the jaw.
"Right, lay off the goods, got it, I was just kidding, sorry," apologized Soren as he was rubbing his jaw. Skadi smiled then squared herself to her foe.
