The final battle part 4; The Universal Revolution's Spirit Bomb!

The final battle part 4; The Universal Revolution's Spirit Bomb!

Cold stumbled back due to the raw tenacity and power his eldest son now wielded. "What is this!?" He gasped, his face bruised and bloody. "What is this form? I didn't know our species was capable of such evolution.." He marveled in shock.

Cooler clicked his teeth and spat sideways. "Believe me it took decades of hard work and research to achieve. On our homeworld, I found a cave that showed signs that our family once held the ability to transform in a manner similar to the saiyans. You wouldn't know anything about our world or history.. you hated everything that made us, us." The eldest Arcrosian prince lectured.

Cold had a contemplative look on his face for several seconds before his features hardened. "I am so very proud of you, my son! I never expected you to come this far. To reward you for your efforts, I will give you one last chance to make amends.." He offered, reaching out one long, muscular arm.

In response Cooler flashed the man a malicious grin causing his father to frown in concern. "I do not wish to see you dead, father.. I merely wish to see you stopped. If the two cannot be mutually exclusive.. so be it." The transformed Cooler said with a shrug.

"Oh dear.." King Cold said softly, just before his son brought both his hands foward and detonated a miniature-supernova at point blank range. "Gaaah!" Cold roared, his bruised and smoking body was thrown from a cloud of ash.

His son was hot in tow, an amethyst aura propelling him through the air. A testament to his own skill and power, the Arcrosian patriarch managed to stop himself and gather his wits rather quickly, cutting his arm through the air and forcing Cooler to halt his charge.

Cold snarled before his face softened. "Cooler.. why. Just tell me, why you would do this?" The large man pleaded.

Cooler scoffed in palpable disgust. "I've already told you why. The fact that you still don't know means you're the one who is a lost cause, father. Even now you don't want what's best for me. You just want to control my power like you do everything else." He accused.

Cold's face was unreadable for several seconds. Finally he shrugged, throwing up his hands and closing his eyes. "Very well.." He began before looking at his son once more.

His eyed narrowed. "I still have my precious Frieza. He would have surpassed you again within a few more years anyway, all on his natural talent. Still.. what a waste." He said dismissively.

The Arcrosian king squated slightly and he prepared to power up. "Haaaa!"

Cooler's crimson eyes widened in concern. "I won't let you!" He yelled, charging at his father like a speeding bullet. He closed the distance between them in an instant, breaking the sound barrier several times over.

Cooler pulled back his right fist and landed a mighty haymaker to his father's jaw that created a shockwave and sent the eldest Arcrosian tumbling through the air. Not stopping there, Cooler bent his knees and launched himself towards his father once more.

Like a bolt of purple lightning, he struck the Arcrosian king. Pivoting mid-air he struck his father again, and then again and again. Faster and faster the man's attacks came, creating a sphere of purple kinetic motion and energy that contained a blur of afterimages and shockwaves.

Each impact put a dent in Cold's biological armor, or created a bruise, or even drew blood.

"Gah!" The king screamed.

Even with the mounting damage, his body continued transforming. The man's form became ambiguous as he was bounced around and beaten hundreds of times in the span of a minute by his eldest son. Cooler reared back his fist and gathered as much energy as he could, attempting to finish the fight here and now. "This ends it!" He yelled, driving his fist forward at near lightspeed.

Suddenly Cold's wrist snapped out and he caught his son's punch, squeezing the hand tightly. Cooler's eyes widened as he stared at the terrifying true form of his father.

His scarred body was sleek and muscular, bred for combat. His height was even greater than the transformed state of his son's.

"Oh shit.." The Arcrosian prince muttered, just before his father delivered a harsh uppercut that broke his face covering and sent him tumbling end over end through the air.

Cooler managed to right himself several dozen yards from his original position, only to find his father appear before him in the blink of an eye. Cooler roared and threw one hand foward launching a supernova in an instant.

Unfortunately for him, his father simply laughed, pushing his way through the boiling hot energy sphere and grabbing his son's face with one massive hand.

The large hand covered everything from Cooler's eyes to his bottom lip. With bone crushing force, his father began to squeeze.

The younger warrior struggled, trying to scream but the sound was muffled and barely audible. "This is the price of your ungratefulness! Now d- gahhhh!" The Arcrosian king withdrew his arm and yelled in pain as two crimson beams pierced his hand. The wound was instantly cauterized from the intense heat of the unexpected blasts.

Of course, any other time Cold could have easily dodged them. Unfortunately, in his folly he had inadvertently covered his son's eyes and left himself vulnerable to one of Cooler's most potent assassination techniques.

Cold stared in shock at the holes in his smoking hand before clenching it tightly and wincing in pain. He snarled at his son. "Playtime is over boy." He said harshly.

The air directly above and around Cold began to shimmer and crackle as the temperature rose several hundred degrees in an instant. Three supernova blasts rapidly formed above Cold's head and expanded until each of them was the size of one of Cooler's own.

Cold levitated higher into the air, raising one arm and staring down at his son. A deep crimson energy pulsed and arced between the spheres. They grew brighter and more intense, clearly possessing more potential kinetic energy than anything Cooler could ever hope to match.

Even if there was only one of them, he wouldn't be able to stop it.

"Any last words, my son..!?"

With Piccolo, Bulma and Co a few minutes prior.

"Alright." Piccolo's main body began. "Preparations should be complete by now and dende is safe back at the ship. I'll contact Kami and.. Gah!" Suddenly he stopped mid sentence and screamed in pain. He clutched his head and fell to his knees.

"Piccolo!?.." Bulma shouted in worry.

"I- It's my clone. He was just killed by Frieza.." He gasped, as he dealt with the backlash of losing a piece of his soul once more.

From several yards behind them the still armless Gintu stood to his feet. "Now's my chance! Ahahaha!" He yelled before flying off in a blazing trail of purple energy. Bulma spun around in shock before her face contorted into fury. "Ginyu you bastard! Cowarrrrd!" She yelled. She raised an arm to try and blast the man out of the sky but Raditz's stern voice cut her off.

"Don't! He's not worth it.." The wounded saiyan insisted, wincing as he raised himself into a sitting position with his Ki. He grit his teeth and tried not to think about how crippled and useless he was while the battle raged on around them. ".. if you miss, the planet will suffer and it's already at the brink."

Bulma's face contorted into disdain but she knew the man was right. She sighed as she lowered her hand and let the ki she had gathered dissipate. She couldnt help feeling helpless and frustrated. She didn't know where the other humans were but the fighting on their end seemed to have died down so she assumed they were licking their wounds.

She looked over at Gohan who refused to leave his father's side. She wondered what was going on in his head..

Meanwhile the boy in question stared down at his father's lifeless body. In this moment it all just felt so surreal for the child. He was only seven years old. No child should have to see this. He felt numb and lost. He didn't know who he was or what he wanted now, but this wasn't it.

The saiyan hybrid was battling a war between numbness and guilt. The truth is, he could have prevented all of this.

Gohan had seen the blast coming on account of his innate powers. If he had just acted sooner.. if he had just been there.. but he froze. To him this was all his fault…

With Frieza and Vegeta

Frieza coated his right hand in a crackling purple energy. His already hidiously swollen body expanded ever so slightly more as he pushed his powers to their limit, despite his exhaustion. "Ahhhh!" He yelled, throwing a mighty haymaker.

The lightening fast punch caught the legendary super saiyan, King Vegeta square in the jaw.

Vegeta's head snapped sideways and a triumphant smirk appeared across Frieza's face. However, he took a step back mid-air, his smug look giving way to one of shock and instinctual fear as Vegeta turned back and grinned at the Arcrosian. A small dribble of blood ran down his lip but he seemed otherwise unaffected by the blow.

"You hit like a little bitch Frieza." Vegeta taunted, spitting out a wad of blood and casually wiping his face with his gloved fist. "What a pathetic showing form the so-called strongest in the universe." The saiyan scoffed. Vegeta crossed his arms and floated closer to the tyrant.

Frieza levitated backward and cut his arm through the air in panic. "Stay back you blasted monkey! I demand you stay away from me!" He roared.

Vegeta stopped and frowned. "What are you so afraid of, Frieza?" He asked callously. "You knew when you slaughtered my people this could only ever end one way..." The man accused. His Aura was intimidating and heavy. The quiet rage in his eyes chilled Frieza to the bone. "...With you lying dead at my feet."

Frieza's face was contorted in panic and dread. With his back against the proverbial wall, his fight or flight instincts took over. Like a child trying to overpower a full grown adult, the Arcrosian screamed and shot towards Vegeta with the same pink, bullet-like tackle that he used to finish off Piccolo's clone.

Vegeta's eyes widened in surprise, not expecting his wounded and tired opponent to suddenly lash out so violently.

The saiyan raised his gloved hands and caught Frieza's ivory fists as the tyrant slammed into his enemy with enough force to crack a planet in half.

"Oof!" They grunted in unison, as the impact rattled their bones and teeth.

They flew backwards at supersonic speeds with Frieza seemingly having the upper hand for the time being.

In the span of seconds the rampaging warriors flew for miles, each screaming their defiance at the other. It seemed as if they might fly across the world like this forever, until Vegeta flared his aura and finally began to slow their trajectory.

They struggled through the air for several dozen more feet before coming to a complete stop.

Smoke rolled off of Vegeta's chest as he tightened his grip and looked into the furious eyes of his nemesis. "My turn, fucker. Haaaa!" The saiyan roared, as he pivoted mid-air and threw the evil emperor like a frisbee at impossible speeds.

Frieza's yells were drowned out by the wind as Vegeta raised his left arm. His face was contorted into a strange mixture of a frown and contemplation.

'I don't have enough energy left for a final flash.. but this should be enough to finish it.' He thought confidently. He narrowed his eyes and gathered a massive amount of energy in his palm. "Farewell, Frieza! This is King Vegeta's… Big bang attack!" He yelled. As he did so a vibrant blue ball of potent energy rapidly materialized before him.

As the attack swelled to the peak of it's potential Vegeta pulled back his arm and prepared to launch his finishing blow.

However the man froze, hesitating as something behind his target caught his eye. He saw that the monster Cold had gathered three inconceivably powerful blasts that looked like miniature suns. Which was actually appropriate given their name.

'What ridiculous strength!' Vegeta spat internally. It occurred to him that the king of the Arcrosian race was about to eradicate his eldest son in cold blood.

For whatever reasons that Vegeta still didn't understand, Cooler was currently one of their strongest allies and though he loathed to admit it.. They needed his help. He was the lesser of two evils for now.

"Even with this new power.. I cant beat him on my own.. I've lost too much energy." He concluded. He knew he was wasting precious seconds as time seemed to slow in his mind's eye. At that moment he made a snap decision. He turned slightly and launched his blast. It soared through the air at the speed of light,

Just as Cold lowered his arm and unleashed his own overwhelming attack, Vegeta's blast arrived. The transformed Cooler raised his arms in defense but Vegeta's aim was true, intercepting the rival king's trio of supernovas after they had only flown a quarter of their intended distance.

There was a spectacular burst of light and the planet shook with fury. A thunderous explosion followed suit and for a moment the world was thrown into chaos as energy and smoke permeated the air.

After several tense moments the rumbling and shockwaves died down. After a few more minutes the smoke started to clear. By some odd chance, all three of the Arcrosians were close enough to the epicenter of the explosion to take damage.

This in turn caused all three of them to fly through the air in separate trails of smoke.

Once his ears had stopped ringing, Vegeta winced before whistling. "How's that for a send off, Kakarot? Did you enjoy the fireworks up there, you bastard clown?" He chuckled bitterly.

Sure Nappa's death had hurt. In fact it had been the final catalyst for his transformation. But the saiyan general was old and he died as he wanted to; a warrior's death.

Being the youngest of all the surviving saiyans, it just didn't seem fair that Kakarot would also die. Not when so many more battles were left unfought.

Vegeta was jolted from his musings when an intense burst of wind and pressure gushed through the air. The whole planet shook and rumbled, reiterating just how close to going nuclear Namek was. Vegeta frowned in concern as he watched the monster King Cold leisurely close the distance in the air between them.

"You'll pay for treating me with such careless disrespect, boy." Cold promised angrily.

Vegeta gulped and prepared to fight the most uphill battle he had ever been in, in his entire life when suddenly a damaged Cooler appeared beside the saiyan.

They shared a begrudging look of understanding and turned to face their mighty opponent once more. They still weren't confident in their chances but with the two of them working together at least it wouldn't be a totally one sided ass kicking.. Hopefully.

With the runaway Ginyu…

Ginyu's body was seized by pure instinct as he felt the resulting explosion caused by the collision of Vegeta and Cold's attacks. "Inconceivable.." He muttered.

As the planet shook around him he scoffed. "This world won't last much longer. I have to hurry!" He bent his knees and prepared to blast off once more when he noticed something peculiar in the sky. Looking up slightly his eyes widened. "What in the holy fuck is that!?" He blurted out loud.

His confusion was understandable. Several hundred meters in the air and seemingly suspended above the Namekian he had just slipped away from, was a bright blue orb of light that was at least the size of a house. The green man was surrounded by the Z-warriors, who appeared to have just finished feeding all of their energy to the massive ball of Ki…

With Piccolo's remaining clone and the Z-warriors

" Darn it.. this isn't going to be enough energy." The Namekian clone growled.

"I'm sorry.. Piccolo. We gave it everything we've got." Krillin huffed in-between breaths. Each of the gathered warriors was downtrodden and ashamed of their own limitations. The being in question shook his head and frowned.

"No, don't apologize. It isn't any of your faults. The planet is all but dead and we've all been fighting for days on end now." He reasoned. "That being said, soon my main body will have composed himself enough to contact kami. After that, the final wish will be made and you will all be taken back to the Earth. I've arranged so that I'll stay behind and help Vegeta but we need to somehow gather more Energy within the next 5 minutes…" He finished solemnly.

The puffing and exhausted warriors all shared a look of desperation. They really needed a miracle right now..

"Piccolo! Can you hear me Piccolo!' A voice suddenly called out in the Namekian's mind. He gasped, visibly shaken by the abrupt and unexpected mental message. The other's looked at the man in confusion, but the reason for his behavior was made clear when he answered the voice in his head out loud.

"Yes, I can hear you, King Kai. And so can half of Otherworld. Would you mind turning it down a notch?" He retorted in annoyance.

He heard the blue diety chuckle, causing him to roll his eyes before continuing. "Besides I'm just a clone, I assume you were meaning to contact the main body." The tall man grunted, his arms beginning to strain from being held up for so long. However, to his surprise he received what amounted to a mental shake of the head in response.

The clone raised his eyebrows as he listened closely to what the god had to say, or rather to think, in this case. 'Nuh uh. You're definitely the one I want. I don't make mistakes.' He chuckled obnoxiously.

"Good God.." Piccolo groaned.

'Listen..' the North Kai continued. 'You're not the only ones fighting this battle. Frieza and his family have wreaked havoc on this universe almost as long as I've been a Kai. For the record, that's a really long time, you know?'

"Get to the point already, we don't have much time." The clone demanded hastily.

'Yeah, yeah party pooper don't get your panties in a bunch!' The god bit back. 'So anyways as I was saying, the righteous anger of countless thousands of ruined lives burns through the hearts of the people of the cosmos. Not just here in our quadrant of the universe, but across all four galaxies. It took a long time and no small amount of effort on my part ill have you know.." He bragged.

'But with the help of my fellow Kais I was finally able to pull it off. Look up and say hello, to the combined might of the universal revolution!' King Kai finished with an excited laugh.

Piccolo's eyes widened and his head snapped up. It took him a moment as he cleared his mind and focused his senses but eventually he felt it..

"H- how!?" He gasped. It was then that the others felt it too and they all sucked in a collective breath. Countless miles above the surface of the planet, just outside of Namek's atmosphere, were thousands upon thousands of galactic cruise ships from multitudes of various different species scattered across the universe.

"What in the hell is all this?" Piccolo wondered out loud.

'Like I said.. countless lives have been affected by the terror known as the Arcrosian empire. Most of these people are just like the saiyans, having either lost their homeworlds or in some unfortunate cases, the majority of their entire species. They're all here to lend a hand and put a stop to these monsters! We just had to wait for you guys to clear out Frieza's army because none of our ships are built for counter attacks, ahahaha!' The blue man snorted.

Piccolo frowned in annoyance but it quickly gave way to smirk and then a full blown grin as he began to feel the energy of millions of energy signatures pouring into the energy in the sky above them.

"I have to admit I'm impressed." He complimented sincerely. His eyes sparkled and his face split into a laugh. "With this amount of power we can definitely win!" He decided as the spirit bomb swelled to absolutely gigantic proportions.

When it finally stopped expanding, in terms of diameter, the ball of energy was every bit as large as a city. A semi-transparent field of pressure extended several hundred yards beyond that.

"But what about the planet!?" Tien yelled in concern. Piccolo frowned as he realized in annoyance that the question posed a legitimate concern. One he didn't have an answer to. Thankfully it seemed like King Kai did.

"No need to worry! Even though the energy comes from a multitude of different sources, their intentions are all pure. To defeat evil. And besides, all the energy you gather is converted into positive energy by your pure heart. It won't harm the planet or anyone who's intentions are good.' He explained confidently.

Piccolo snorted. "Pfft. Yeah right. My heart's far from pure.. I'm a monster." He said acceptingly.

To his surprise the gathered Z-warriors practically trampled him as they swarmed around him screaming about how wrong he was.

"What, why would you say that!?"

"What have you ever done to make you a monster? Heck I stole food from an old lady in the desert once!"

"You're a hero Piccolo!"

These and various other shouts of encouragement were hurled at the green man, who seemed noticeably overwhelmed. His eyes were wide with stunned disbelief.

'See Piccolo? Your friends pretty much nailed it. But if their comradery and faith in you isn't enough to make you believe, then maybe this little piece of information will..." He teased. "I never told you this, but only those who are pure of heart can wield the spirit bomb.' The carefree Kai finished matter-of-factly.

A single tear rolled down Piccolo's cheek as he puffed up his chest. "Right! Let's do it then! This is the end! The Spirit Bomb of the Universal Revolution!" He roared, throwing his open hands forward and down at the ground below.

As he did so the gargantuan ball of energy slowly began to move. As it gained speed, the unfathomable resistance from the planet's gravity and atmosphere caused the blast to stretch and warp like a rubber egg being squeezed.

The clouds were ripped aside as the unstoppable blast tore its way through the air, homing in on it's target. There was a split second where everything seemed abnormally silent. As if the whole world held its breath in anticipation of what came next.

The entire world was bathed in a beautiful blue light as the energy approached the surface. A strange sense of serenity and tranquility filled the air. The moment seemed to stretch on for eternity.

And then time rebounded forward like a rubber band and everything felt like it was being submerged in a sea of energy and light. It wasn't a particularly crushing or painful feeling, but it was certainly overwhelming as the Z-warriors' senses were over-engorged by the intense energy that washed across the surface of the planet.

Piccolo could faintly feel through his connection with his homeworld that not only did the spirit bomb not harm the planet and it's few remaining life forms, but it healed them slightly…

With the Arcrosians and Vegeta

In each of his large hands Cold held Vegeta and Cooler by their throats in a death grip that was capable of obliterating entire planets. The duo kicked and struggled feebly against the towering monstrosity, but all their efforts were for naught.

"This is the price for your defiance. Now die.." Just as Cold was about to break their necks and be done with it all, the world was bathed in a blinding, blue light. "What!?" He roared, looking up at what could only be described as a blue sun descending on the Arcrosian patriarch.

Vegeta and Cooler took advantage of his momentary lapse in concentration, flaring their Auras and ripping themselves away from his grasp. In unison they spun around and kicked the monster in the chest, creating some distance between them. Once the two had finished coughing and catching their breaths, they raised an open palm.

"Supernova!"

"Big Bang attack!"

As Cold recovered mid-air his instincts caused goosebumps to form across his skin. He looked up with wide eyes to see the two blasts approaching at impossibly fast speeds. He raised his hands as the two attacks slammed into the man. He roared in fury and frustration. "You insignificant worms!"

Vegeta and Cooler grunted, each hunched foward and pouring all their energy and effort into maintaining their advantage. To their utter shock and horror Cold began to slowly push their incredibly powerful combo attack backwards. However they didn't necessarily need to overpower him.. just stall him long enough for the ball of energy in the sky to fulfill its purpose.

The duo was just as shocked as Cold to see the astounding amount of energy appear in the upper layers of Namek's atmosphere. But they instantly came to the logical conclusion that the resistance had somehow pulled off a miracle, and this attack was meant to finish off Cold and his tyrant son, Frieza.

"Don't you fucking fold, saiyan!" Cooler taunted in frustration. Vegeta scoffed in response, growling in anger. "Don't tell me what to do, lizard!"

It was at this point in time that the devil himself, Freiza, flew up beside his occupied brother and Vegeta. He flashed them an intense look of disdain as he surveyed the situation, and then his attention was caught by the massive orb in the sky. He stared, mesmerized by the sheer intensity of the divine energy.

"Oh great!" Vegeta barked. "Just what we needed!" He yelled sarcastically.

Cooler narrowed his eyes, having similar thoughts. If either one of them stopped pushing now. Cold would finish the two of them and have a chance to get away. However, the spirit bomb would impact the battlefield in less than a minute and when that happened they were probably all dead anyways.

To them it was a "we may be going to hell but we're taking you with us." Situation.

"Friezaaaa.. help meeee!" Cold screamed, only now was he beginning to realize how truly perilous his situation had become. The two pests before him were proving extremely resilient. The ancient king could feel an increasingly suffocating pressure from the impossibly powerful energy descending on him.

Even he could not survive such a devastating blast.

Frieza raised both hands and knitted his brow in anger. A death ball far larger than any he had ever created formed in the space before his outstretched palms. He took aim at his brother and Vegeta who looked back at him with harrowing terror in their eyes. And then Frieza turned slightly and fired his attack at his struggling father.

The combined might of all three of their attacks overtook Cold before he could even react. For one brief moment, the three warriors saw the face of the strongest and most ruthless creature in the universe morph into a look of betrayal and emotional pain. And then there was anger followed by acceptance as the patriarch was carried away into the air.

Frieza reasoned that the only way he could survive this was by using his father to detonate the blast before it fully reached the ground. It was better to stab his father in the back now before the fool jad a chance to conspire against him with his brother, who had somehow bridged the gap between their powers over the years. Speaking of which…

"Ahahaha!" The evil tyrant, Frieza, laughed. His body shrank back down, no longer able to maintain his maximum power with the little remaining Ki he possessed.

He turned, raising his hands and shouting. The evil emperor encased his exhausted brother in a golden bubble of energy before turning and flying away as fast as his own worn out body would allow. "Have fun dying with our perfidious father, you treasonous scoundrel!"

Everything had happened so fast that Vegeta and Cooler were too shocked to properly react. They shared a look. For a moment, the saiyan felt pity for his ally, despite their uneasy and forced relationship. Cooler's eyes were pleading and desperate. "V-.. Vegeta! Please don't leave me here to die alone!" He cried out. And then the spirit bomb exploded.
