The year of preparation passed quickly by for the Z-warriors with each of them reaching incredible new heights with their individual techniques and power.
But would it be enough to impress the prince of all saiyans? And moreover, enough to take down the ungodly tyrant Frieza? Stay tuned, to find out!
In a rocky desert many miles away from the nearest civilization.
Kakarot and Co stood at the ready on a large plateau. This was the spot where Raditz believed more or less that the saiyans would touch down when they landed. He had his scouter on and it's beacon was active so there was really no reason for the mighty warrior to not think they would arrive at this specific location.. eventually.
They had been standing in this spot for well over an hour and the group as a whole was beginning to sweat. Bulma, the brash fiery woman that she was (and inarguably the least trained) was the first to lose her cool, no pun intended.
She stomped her foot in frustration, cracking the dessert rock beneath her and the other warriors. Clearly she had gotten much stronger even if she was lagging behind the others. "God damn it, Raditz. Where are your little friends? I thought they'd be here by now?" She huffed, crossing her arms. Raditz sweatdropped and frowned. Apparently, the saiyan didn't answer the woman's question in a swift enough manner because the woman started in on him again.
"Hey, I asked you a question you dick!" She yelled aggressively. Raditz at this point lost control of his temper, turning beat red and rounding on the woman. "I heard you the first time, woman! I don't know God damn it stop yelling at me!" He barked out. Bulma smirked as if she fully expected this response from the man.
She crossed her arms in a haughty manner before saying "well honestly brother if you'd just answer me the first time I wouldn't have to yell at your dumbass." She mocked. Raditz for his part growled and turned away with an exaggerated huff of indignation. Kakarot watched the exchange between the two with a tired shake of his head. 'These two…'
Suddenly the group was alerted to the sky by Piccolo's commanding voice echoing out. "Quiet! They're here." The man observed with narrowed eyes.
The Z fighters, all except Raditz and Kakarot, gasped. They had never felt such terrifying power…
"This.. This is nothing like the power level of the saiyans in the hyperbolic time chamber.." Chiaotzu stammered. The others could do nothing but nod numbly in agreement.
In a matter of mere seconds a massive ship which Raditz recognized as being one of Frieza's royal ships breached the Earth's atmosphere. 'How in the bloody hell did they get a ship from Frieza?…' The long haired saiyan thought with shock evident on his face. "... We are so fucking dead..' He sighed internally.
A few minutes later the large ship touched down sending dust and debris in all directions. The silhouette of two incredibly strong warriors made their way down the exit ramp. Based upon their shadowy outlines, one seemed to be a large hulk of a beast, and the other, a short commanding presence that was clearly the bulk of the energy signature(s) they felt.
A gust of wind blew a majority of the dust away, allowing the Z fighters to get a clear view of their begrudging allies. They looked about exactly how one would expect in accordance with their silhouette. The man who looked like a raging hulk, practically was. The man stood a few inches taller than Raditz, rivaling Piccolo in height.
However if one were to compare Piccolo and the man side by side it would be akin to comparing an adult to a child solely due to the saiyan’s ridiculous, unnaturally bulky muscles. While Raditz was the proud owner of a body one might expect to see from a professional Mr. Olympia winner, his physique at least seemed physically obtainable. This other saiyan was an entirely new beast with a body no human being could have ever possessed.
'Based on Raditz's description that large one must be Nappa.. Jesus Christ he's huge...' Kakarot mumbled internally. '... So that other one must be.." As Kakarot turned his gaze toward the shorter, smaller saiyan, they locked eyes. His breath hitched in his throat. Somehow it seemed as if there was an unspoken magnetic attraction that brought their gazes around to meet one another at the same time.

An unexplainable energy passed between them as their saiyan blood began to boil. The tension in the air grew thick and heavy. 'Vegeta.' It somehow seemed that fate had ordained these two beings meet here, and now. A battle between the two was destined to happen. But for now…
Vegeta smirked in a haughty manner as his gaze swept across the group. Most of them flinched away from his scrutinizing eyes but one warrior in particular caught his attention and held his ground. Not only that, but Vegeta's sharp eyes easily detected the subtle widening of the man's pupil. The tensing of his muscles…
'That is Kakarot..? Impossible. I'm sensing the blood of a true warrior from that low class.. clown?..' He said nothing as his general stepped forward.
By now the general of his army had been by the prince's side long enough to know exactly what was going through the much younger saiyan’s head. Hell, Nappa had practically raised Vegeta even long before Frieza massacred their species. Vegeta would want him to show these weak scum their place.
The man with biceps nearly as big around as a car tire stomped forward and snarled aggressively. "Raditz! What in Vegeta's name is this? The prince ordered you to gather Kakarot and as many warriors as you could from this useless rock, and you bring us these pathetic weaklings?!"
He pulled out his scouter and pressed a button on the side, grinning as the numbers finished flashing. "1000!? You've got to be shitting me! You actually got weaker in your year on this backwater garbage ball!" Though the man was spitting and yelling angrily, it almost looked like a front to hide the fact that he secretly just wanted to bully Raditz.
To Goku this was evidenced by the fact that the ridiculously huge saiyan (seriously though, why is Nappa so damn big AT?..) was signaling Kakarot's older brother out specifically. Beyond that the man clearly had a mocking smirk adorning his features which contradicted the angry nature of his words. Clearly he didn't care whether or not Raditz had succeeded. He just wanted an excuse to put the other man down.
Raditz frowned. He told Kakarot exactly how this interaction would go down. And while Raditz was willing to stay his hand on account of wanting to save his baby brother, Vegeta and Nappa held no such reserves. If the Earthlings truly did not meet their standards Vegeta especially would not hesitate to vaporize everyone present and the planet along with them.
In truth, as Raditz glared at Nappa, he dearly wanted to be the one to wipe the smugness off of the delusion moron's face. However.. this was not his home. With a smirk, the eldest son of Bardock turned to his brother and rhetorically asked, "Kakarot? Would you do the honors?"
The man in question took a few steps forward. "Listen up. My name is Kakarot, but my friends here on Earth call me Goku. You can call me either one, I want us all to get along here. We're all fighting for the same cause, to take down this frieza guy, right?..." The saiyan raised his eyebrow and took a pause for dramatic effect.
Nappa's gaze fixated on Kakarot as the man stepped up and addressed him and the mighty prince. The brute's demeanor remained condescending, laughing at the words of the youngest saiyan amongst them. To Nappa, this fool was the weakest of the bunch. The runt.
Vegeta meanwhile crossed his arms, shifting his weight and narrowing his eyes. Why did he sense a but coming?
Sure enough Kakarot's voice, now shifting to a powerful tone that demanded fidelity, cut through the desert wind. "... But make no mistake. If you threaten my home or any single one of my friends. I won't hesitate to kill you. I've seen what saiyans are like. I'm not impressed." He said matter of factly.
Vegeta's arms remained crossed but his eye's widened and his muscles bristled in fury. 'That bastard… Why is it.. the entire time he spoke.. He never took his eyes off of mine!' The prince cried within his mind.
Nappa stomped forward forcefully, cracking the ground with a strapless boot that would have made Bigfoot feel insecure. "You shut your mouth, dog! How dare you address the prince in such a manner, do you understand who the hell this man is? You and your weakling brother should bow beneath his boot.
"Did Raditz ever tell you about what Vegeta would do to him when the weak dog got out of line?" The giant brute paused to release a string of boisterous laughter. "Ahahaa! He is the future king of all saiyans! And-!..."
Kakarot felt Raditz bristle beside him. He may not have understood the situation fully but it was clear to see that his brother had more or less been subject to their abuse and torture most if not all of his life. It was no wonder he showed up to Earth as such a complicated and angry individual when he'd first come looking for his little brother.
Kakarot knew how much Raditz had respected their father. It was obvious any time the older saiyan spoke of the man, which was quite often. He only ever had great things to say and praises of the man's impossible feats. "He nearly even beat Frieza… Our father was that powerful." He had said… Now Goku was inclined to believe it.
All his brother had ever really wanted was to be with his family again. And what had Kakarot done?.. He shunned him for what the man had said in what was clearly a desperate cry for help, instead of opening up to him and trying to see things his way...
"My brother is not WEAK!" Kakarot Shook with righteous fury.
'I swear on my life, Raditz. I will make it up to you...' The saiyans orange gi began to levitate and ripple around his body as his power began to rise. A heavy, ominous pressure filled the air. The planet shook and out of nowhere several arcs of lightning struck the earth with thunderous booms. Wind equivalent to hurricane forces battered everyone present forcing them to shield their eyes.
Several of the Z-warriors stumbled and gasped. Vegeta's jaw hung slightly open in stunned disbelief, arms slowly uncrossing. Beside him the hulking form of Nappa quivered. "V-Vegeta.. Quick! What's the scouter say about his power level?" He demanded. Beside him the saiyan prince tsk'd and glared. "Mind your tone, Nappa!" He growled, but the shorter man compiled with his general's wishes nonetheless. Quite frankly he too was intrigued by the pressure he was feeling from this unexpected source.
Quickly taking his personal, and unique scouter out of his battle armor he fastened it to his left eye and pressed the button. 'Beep beep boop boop beep' 'beeeeep!' Vegeta's face flushed red with anger. "That's impossible!" He roared. His general turned to the young prince in alarm. He had never heard the prince sound so distressed except for when dealing with Frieza..
"What's it saying?" The large brute asked. 'Is he in the thousands..? Is it possible this third rate reject is stronger than we thought? There's no way.. But this pressure I'm feeling.." His musings were interrupted, all color draining from his face when he heard the saiyan prince's response. .
"His power level…. It's 11,000!" He bellowed, ripping his scouter off his face and crushing it in his left hand.
