Happy Anniversary

The Frieza force spaceships were absolutely gargantuan in size. Lord Frieza himself boasted ownership over one of the most extravagant cruisers in all the cosmos. The spoiled emperor's ship came equipped with any number of top notch luxuries from various planets, many of which, even the wealthiest kings could not possibly ascertain the true value of.

But by and large most of the carrier ships under the command of the evil tyrant were designed with simplicity and efficiency in mind. They were built for one purpose; to allow transport for the empire's army to conquer planets across the universe en masse. To that end, the ship that the Z-warriors and their unlikely alliance of saiyans currently traveled in was easily capable of comfortably housing a thousand soldiers.

Their food reserves would last the entire year and there were dozens of areas designated for recreational activities such as a pool, a low gravity bowling alley, a bar and many other commodities. For all intents and purposes this would be the home of the 12 warriors for the foreseeable future.

While the seven human Earthlings and its resident Namekian explored their new abode, Kakarot and his brother were having something of a negotiable debate with the prince of all saiyans and his right-hand man.

"No Vegeta. I don't care if you are the prince or whatever. If you want me and Raditz, our friends stay." Kakarot said with narrowed eyes.

"Your friends…" Raditz mumbled behind him.

Vegeta scowled and crossed his arms. "You're serious?! You're dead set and determined to travel with these weak imbeciles? And don't even get me started on your tail. You're practically useless without it but beyond that… Where is your saiyan pride Kakarot!?" The shorter saiyan asked incredulously.

In response Kakarot merely closed his eyes and nodded, crossing his arms in a mirror image of the much stronger saiyan. He knew if it came to blows, the younger saiyan was certainly losing out. Nevertheless he would not abandon those closest to his heart. "That's right. Contrary to whatever delusional thoughts you may hold, it's not in spite of them, but because of my friends and the courage they give me, that I'm strong."

Vegeta stomped his foot and swiveled on his heel. "Tsk, whatever you moron, just stay out of my way and you better keep getting stronger! Come on, Nappa!" He demanded angrily with a wave of his left arm. The large general grumbled angrily and glared at Kakarot and his brother. He looked like he wanted to stay and argue but he didn't dare risk further vexing the psychopathic saiyan prince.

The shorter man's posture was slouched and hostile, Nappa keeping a timid distance. Idly Kakarot was reminded of a wolverine or a honey badger. Small but ferocious, they were incredibly deadly apex predators in their own kingdoms, and so was Vegeta… Kakarot shuddered. 'What an incredible siayan.. So that's what the prince's power feels like? Heheheeee this is gonna be awesome!' He yelled excitedly within his mind.

Beside him his brother shook his head, stepping forward and staring off towards where the other two saiyans had retreated. "Haaah…" He sighed. "Listen. Try not to piss the prince off too much, ok little brother? Prince Vegeta knows he needs all the help he can get to take down Frieza but.. He'd sacrifice the universe and himself right along with it if it meant defending himself from any perceived threat to his pride.." The older saiyan cautioned warily.

Kakarot chuckled and nodded. "Yeah I can tell.. He's the real deal huh? And you said your… Our dad was even stronger than him?" He asked with curiosity written across his face. Raditz frowned and seemed to hesitate. "I.. I don't know. Vegeta is strong.. They both are. Stronger than I could ever hope to be.." He said with disdain and apprehension.

Raditz's eyes widened and he looked down toward his brother, who had placed a reassuring hand on the man's shoulder guard. His brother radiated certainty and confidence as he said, "Hey, listen. I think you can be just as strong as any of us. It doesn't matter how many times you fail as long as you never give up. Plus, look how far you've come in just a year! Father would be proud."

Raditz stared Into his brother's eyes, completely at a loss for words. In the end he simply settled for saying, "Thank you, Kakarot." If he said much else he was afraid he might cry and that wasn't very saiyan like.. Then again. Maybe it should have been. Though he never questioned him or his people before he couldn't help but wonder lately if the saiyans had somehow been wrong in their ways. Maybe might, did not always make right and there was more to life than being the strongest…

With a nod of mutual agreement the two brothers made off to round up the rest of the Z fighters and come up with a game plan regarding their training regime for the next 12 months.

Roughly an hour later

(About enough time for a quick snack break for the Z-warriors and the Author)

The ten Z-warriors from Earth, which now unofficially-officially included Raditz and Piccolo, met one another in one of the ship's six training chambers. The group was extremely fortunate as that effectively met they could break up into teams of two and each get their private chambers in which to focus and work. Of course they chose the furthest chamber from the prince and his attendee as they could.

Each chamber was essentially a spitting image of Bulma's gravity room on Earth, although inarguably her work was much more professional. These chambers didn't actually affect the gravity at all for one thing, they were simply built to withstand planet vaporizing plasma blasts. Beyond that they simply weren't as uniform or symmetrical. She smirked, closing her eyes and praising herself internally for her genius.

"Alright everybody..." Kakarot began, "...Hopefully at this point everybody is familiar with their strengths and weaknesses and we're all confident on how best to improve moving forward but remember, if you ever feel stuck don't be afraid to ask for help from any of us, not just me. We're all a team now and sometimes a fresh perspective is just what you need to push into that next level." He said with optimistic confidence.

"Now later on we'll break up into teams of two again, but for now I want to get a feel for how far we've all come as a group, ok?" He requested. The Z-warriors collectively nodded, well everyone except for Bulma who stopped forward..

"Hold it right there dear husband.." Bulma demanded. Kakarot blinked at his blue haired wife several times in surprise. "You're forgetting something." She continued teasingly, hand on her hips as if she knew something he didn't.

"Umm.. yeah?" He inquired dumbly, scratching the back of his head in deep thought. The woman nodded with a smirk. "Well of course. While you and the others were training in the time chamber crested by yours truly.." she paused to add dramatic effect and spread her hand over her chest in self adoration. ".. Your lovely wife was working on yet another ground-breaking invention. Of course I have to give credit where credit is due, I couldn't have done it without Gero and dad's experience and help. Well I could.. but it would have taken a few years." She rambled on tapping her chin.

"Bulmaaaa.." Kakarot whined, bouncing back and forth on his feet. The rest of the Z gang chuckled and or shook their heads at the interaction between the abnormal, married couple.

The woman in question rolled her eyes before smiling at her husband's antics. "Yeah, yeah sorry. Without further adieu I present to everyone present… The gravity watches!" She yelled with an enthusiastic wave of her arm.

As she did so she threw a capsule onto the ground which exploded in a large plume of pink smoke.

*BOOM~!*

Once said smoke had cleared, a large metallic briefcase was left in it's wake. Bending down with a subtle sway of her hips Bulma unlatched the lock of the case and opened it. "Ta-da! Happy anniversary, my love." She said as she began pulling out black wrist devices that were clearly far too complex to simply be watches.

She handed one to each of the wide eyed warriors explaining, "I knew, based on what Raditz could tell us, that there would be at least 12 of us, maybe even 14 or 15 if we end up tracking down the rest of the saiyans. A woman can never be too prepared, you know? Therefore I made twenty of these bad boys. Oh yeah, and I had Gero test their durability with his army's most powerful lasers, I know for a fact they can take a beating, so feel free to go all out, ok?" She finished with a wink to her husband.

"Oh wow, Bulma, that's so amazing! Im so sorry I forgot about our anniversary again!.. I've just been so busy.. But honestly, you're really just the most incredible and smartest person in the whole world!" Her spiky haired husband cheered, praising his wife's genius, talent and beauty. All the while their son Gohan jumped up and down between the two with unadulterated joy, feeding off his parents' shared optimism.

His wife waved away his concerns. It would honestly be a bigger surprised if he ever did remember their anniversary. "Oh I know, but you can tell me again." She said with a level of sass befitting a queen.

End of chapter 11.
