I woke up to see Ellie, mom and dad surrounding me as I was lying on my fluffy bed.  It is so soft I wish I could stay here forever.  Wait why are my parents here... Oh yea, everything that happened before this caused to sleep like a log.  Oh, they are just staring at me, waiting for me to get my bearings.  I want to just hide and not talk about what happened.  It hurts that my curiosity is acting up.

So I worked up the courage and said, "Hi Mom, Hi Dad, Hi Ellie."

Mom worriedly asked, "Are you alright, sweetie?"

Ellie and dad shook their heads yes as if agreeing with mom.

"My body's fine, but I am confused.  Why were there people who attacked and ki---ki---killed the guard?"  I stuttered at the end because it flashed through my mind again.  I'm still not sure why mom killing them didn't affect me much; it was many more than the abductors killed.  Most likely it was because it was such a gory scene, or maybe because that was the first person I ever saw killed in person... I guess other than myself.

"Well, sweetie, we will have to talk to you about that.  You are one of a kind Ally, unique, and known as a chaos child to the world."

"What's a chaos child?"

She explained slowly, "Chaos children are people of one of the races who has no ties to this world.  Think of it like this, everyone born in this world usually has threads of fate that show you bound to this world.  Most interpret it as you would have something predetermined that can change, but if you take the most likely path, you will end up at the predetermined path.  There are many instances of someone changing fate, but there are few who have no fate.  These people would be the chaos children."

She then took a deep breath and decided that it would important that I know everything and then continued, "These children have nothing assigned to do and this leads to them being look at very critically.  If a chaos child makes a move, they can cause the fate of the entire world to be at risk because no one can divine what their actions will cause.  The holy branch of light magic uses divining to tell what may happen.  When there is a chaos child born, divination will cease to work for the time they are alive.  It will only give results based on everyone else, but the chaos child.  Since the chaos child can infinitely change fate of other people, they can cause the world to become unpredictable."

"So I am something like a wildcard?"

"Yes you are sweetie, but you are a threat to many people, as you can cause everything to divert from the most likely path.  This is why those people wanted to kidnap you, they wanted to use you because of that."

"So why do they know I'm a chaos child?"

"This would probably be the fault of your father." *mother glares at him*

He drops his head down in shame as he stumbles to explain, "Well, for your birth... I decided to have a priestess come and use divination on you to see how you would grow up.  She must have had her mind read because she has an oath binding her from speaking, writing, or in any way divulging anything about you being a chaos child.  This only means that someone has found out you are a chaos child and wants to get you by any means necessary."

I guess that explains who the person with the glowing hands at my birth.  She was the priestess that was healing my mother and divining my future.

I asked, "How do you read minds?"

Dad muttered under his breath "That's your question..." and mom slapped him in the back of the head.

"Can I get something to eat, it seems to be dark?"

Ellie answered me quickly, "Mistress, I will be back in a hurry."

"No onions, Ellie."

"Only for today mistress, if you don't eat a variety, you won't be able to get dessert."

"No, please anything but that. I love the chocolate cake."

"Good, I will be right back."

As mom, dad and I were alone they looked around the room and saw my figurines.  They then gave me a pitying gaze.  Why do they do that?  I want to understand, Ellie does it as well.

Before I could ask, Ellie had returned with my meal and mom, dad and Ellie talked in whispers about how I would come to terms with what happened.

We said good night and everybody left back to their rooms to get some rest before the next day, but right after they left I went to my hidden garden to relax.  I knew I would have to head back before the time I am usually woken up at around 9 am, but this gives me plenty of time to clear my head.

After I entered, I lept back to the kidnapping attempt in my mind and gave flowers to the guards family.  I also can't forget to ask if the guards family will be ok, he protected my life.  As I spent a few hours over-analyzing, I can't come up with a good way to define how I felt.  It might be empathy towards the guard's death and apathy for the kidnappers' deaths.  I guess that is how you should think, but it is still bittersweet thinking he had to die for me.

As I ran back to my room before my wake up time, Tina appeared.  She seemed to sense that I was having doubts pile up onto each other and created pictures with her mana.  I guess pictures is inadequate to describe it; it was more of movie about a mime.  Anyways, I played a prank on Tina by using my mana to give her a hat.  Do you have any idea what a fairy with top hat and monocle looks like?  It is hilarious.

Right before Tina could argue with me about it, she disappeared and Ellie entered the room.  She brought Kylie, Rose, Tristan, and Kade with her.  They came to see me, as I wasn't at school yesterday and I liked to run around the school building, so it was odd.

They ran up to me and gave me a big hug before Ellie shooed them away so I can get dressed.  I guess I won't have to be alone today, which is a blessing for someone who is in their mind too much.  I wanted to play in the magic room that creates an ice floor and it isn't near as fun without more people to fall down with me.

Today was a good recovery day, because before I knew it, it was already lunchtime.  We ate boar meat and had some cookies to go with it.  As I'm sure I can't beat Tristan in a race, we decided we could go swimming this afternoon rather than ice skate.  It was fun since we swam until it was time for them to go home though swimming and ice-skating in the same place on the same day is a fun way to use magic.

As they all left with their escorts, I headed back to my room with Ellie.  I guess I should read those books I got from dad, which should help me, unwind before dinner. Before I read the books, Ellie spoke up.

"Mistress, you should probably go to bed."

I stiffened because this means she knew I didn't go back to sleep after she left.

"Why should I go to sleep?", I asked gingerly

"You want to ask the one person who has the task of your safety why you should go to bed, Garden Princess."

"How long have you known Ellie?" I wondered aloud.

"Well, truthfully that little fairy is superb at keeping out of sight, but yes I have known about it since the beginning."

"Why didn't you mention it?"

"Because what point is there to calling you out for having fun with your little fairy friend."

"So do you think Tina will come out when you’re around, she doesn't seem to like other people."

"As they explained about chaos children, fairies choose to get close to them inherently for whatever reason I do not comprehend since there hasn't been a chaos child in around 500 years."

"I guess that will have to wait, I will take you up on your suggestion on sleep.  Night Ellie."

"Night Mistress, sweet dreams."

As she said that, I went to sleep quickly, I accumulated a lot of fatigue.
