I woke up and felt that my body soaked in sweat, making my pajamas stick to my body.  I thought this wasn't right and as my eyes opened.  Then I saw my parents and Ellie were sleeping with their heads on my bed.  The only one that was awake was Tina, and she seemed to avoid my gaze.  Well, that almost proves she had something to do with this.

As I write in Fairy Runes to Tina, I realize that there was a tint to the mana I was using.  It was like the signature that mom used to get through the barrier rather than the pure mana I used.  Anyways, I will leave it at that, time to question the guilty fairy.  As the runes don't make noise, they won't wake up everybody that is sleeping.

I wrote in runes, "Tina, what happened?”

She responded hesitantly, "You remember when you were putting pure mana into your core to use and I encouraged it.  Um, I wasn't telling you the entire truth behind why I wanted you to do that.  You know how mana capacity changed little by little as you grow from the base mana."

"Yea."

"Well, there is a trick that we fairies have learned.  It involves storing pure mana in our core before our magic capabilities release.  Depending on the amount stored, the core will react to the mana.  This causes your body to pull in more mana.  It then converts the mana into your own magic power to overpower the pure mana in your core therefore converting it into your own magic power."

I asked severely, "So you purposely caused me to have mana poisoning?"

Her runes wavered, and she spoke softly and with what I could only call guilt, "I guess you could put it this way.  I only wanted to give you an advantage in magic."

Her talking startled me and after a moment of hesitation I decided to ask about her ability to speak later.  

I responded aloud after I realized she set up a sound barrier around us, "You wouldn't have stuck around if this was meant to hurt or kill me, so what was your reason Tina?"

The meekly responded, "The fairies have always done this because we use mana manipulation before we can use magic.  I wanted for you to do this for you since I realized you could use mana manipulation.  I never thought you would react so violently to the influx of mana."

"Well, since this wasn't on purpose I will let you off lightly."

I then gave her a smile that made her shiver and then I made the familiar contract with my magic.  She formed her part hesitantly with her magic and once it was complete a message popped up.  I usually ignore them, but this one was interesting.

Successfully formed a familiar contract with a fairy.  Since you have started down the road of magic by forming a familiar contract first, your gift will be the magic formula for telepathy

As I was contemplating it, a formula for the magic appeared in my mind.  I guess it is important to say anything that becomes a skill will stay forever in your mind in this world.  You can forget people's names, you can forget history, you can forget what has happened, but you can't forget the skills you have learned.   It makes learning magic so much easier.  There is also the fact that levels of skills signify proficiency and how much effort it takes to use it. Increasing your magic pool usually increases with intelligence because the more intelligent you are the easier it is to convert into magic.

Anyways, after Tina and I completed the contract, I grasped her out of the air and had my hand around her waist.  After thinking for a moment, she accepted her fate quickly; I decided that her punishment would be to become a dress up doll for a month.

I asked Tina as she was in my hand, "What were the effects of the pure mana in my core?"

"It increases the magic pool greatly afterwards, if you look at your status it should have increased a lot based on your reaction."

As I looked shock overcame me, my magic power had increased to 20,000.  I was mostly shocked because increasing total magic power is hard and mine increased 19,500 right when my magic core was unrestricted.  I would say thanks to the fairy, but I will hold it because she didn't tell me it would happen.

"Ok Tina, I will wake up my family and Ellie and you WILL explain what happened to them."

As I woke up everybody, Misty jumped onto my bed.  I guess she worried as well.  They were restless, feeling confused and also wondering why they were all asleep.  I stared hard at Tina and she came out and said, "That would be my doing, I saw that Ally was waking up and I wanted to talk to her by myself before the crowd."

As Tina said that she didn't have a single ounce of regret for putting unsuspecting people to sleep.  From what my mom muttered, the only way that any of them would sleep would be if there was no malicious intent and they were well past exhausted.  So I guess I worried them a lot.

Anyways, I gently squeezed Tina as Misty licked my face to get her to explain what happened to everybody.  It took more time for her to answer all the questions to my family, but as expected mom was the least happy out of the bunch.  She decided that Tina would have punishment independent of me since she said I was too kindhearted for just using her as a dress up doll.

Right before mom and dad left.

Dad said, "Get well soon Ally, your magic teachers will be both your mom and me."

Mom said, "Tina, I will give you one day with Ally to tell her about familiars and then you will report for your punishment."

Tina visibly shrunk at that statement, which is funny because she isn't very big to begin with.

After they left, Ellie helped me with the outfits I wanted Tina to wear and went to find material to make them.  Tina knew nothing since everything on the list never left our mouths.

After Ellie left, Tina, Misty, and I were the only ones left in the room.  I asked Tina, "What did my mom mean, by explain what familiars are."

Tina spouted off like a loose cannon, "Familiars are a type of give and take relationship.  The familiars will get magic power from their partners and the partners will get help from the familiars.  Familiars come when called from anywhere if there is enough magic power to transport them there.  I can cancel the contract only if the fairy queen decides to sever the contract.  A person can only have two familiars at any one time unless they become a beast tamer.  Most familiars are protectors, helpers, or mounts.  Some can be more than one."

After she stopped long enough to take a breath I asked, "Tina, why did you want to become my familiar, you could be fine by yourself if you wanted to."

"Well, us Fae have always followed behind the chaos children.  They are a protector of sorts to us considering before they appeared we were slaves, taken unwillingly away from our home.  One of the chaos children helped us get a home that protected us with his magic's advances.  He did this and only asked that for every chaos child, a fairy will become their familiar and help them.  He also said it was possible to sever the contract if we Fae considered the chaos child unredeemable.  We have always felt that it was our duty to uphold our promise, and I was the one who will be your familiar."

She then smiled wholeheartedly.  I guess the Fae consider it an honor to follow behind the chaos children.

"So, I guess I should ask how you find chaos children."

"Oh, we can find them because of one relic left behind allows us to see fate ties of everybody on this continent, so if there is a person without one they are a chaos child."

As she finished talking Ellie entered and smiled sweetly while keeping her hands behind her back.  She then grabbed Tina, strip her and put her in a maid outfit.  Tina struggled a lot at the beginning, but stopped after she felt she had no chance to escape.  I created her mana hat and monocle.  This entire sequence was funny.

There was still one question I had on my mind, "Tina, why didn't you speak the common language in these six years I have known you?"

"Oh, that... um... well... I wanted you to learn how to speak in fairy runes, but you couldn't talk when I first got there... so I talked to you through runes and you seemed to understand them after a while.  After a while I thought it was funny you didn't catch on that I was able to talk and talked in runes until you figured it out.  It was my first prank on you."

She then stuck out her tongue and looked like a spoiled child.  

I went to get mom to figure out if I can do magic.
