Chapter 26: An activity

Troublesome, I guess I haven't questioned my current life since I was born.  This is not really a problem, but every time I question my life I never get answers. Questions, more questions, complex questions that can't be solved currently.  I don't know how I should go about this.  I guess I should just attempt to figure out if I should "fix" myself or not.  That should be my first priority.

My second priority is to draw out the Chaos God.  Hopefully he can answer some more of my questions, since he selfishly threw me here.  I wonder what I could do to draw him out.  Hmmm.  Me being his "champion" will most likely mean that he has an eye on me so… What would draw out a chaotic person?  Do I really have to start a war?

Maybe I could summon him.  I know absolutely nothing about summoning though, familiar contracts aren't a forceful way of doing things so I'm blind and have no want to learn it.  Summoning is out.  Next idea is getting another god to help me.  I'm sure that they might want to address the chaos god, but let's put that on hold until I'm sure that the god doesn't want to kill me.  Actually that thought gave me shivers.  If the chaos god is like mom described him, I am in trouble with the other gods.

After sorting out my thoughts I decided to ask, "Ellie, should I change myself?"

She seemed shocked, but then sunk into deep thought.  After she finished thinking she announced, "Mistress, I know I told you to remember this scene, but my honest opinion is that the only thing you should change is your unbridled curiosity.  The only thing I want you to hopefully learn is to gather information before you decide to move on with your curiosity.  Your mom is a good source to help, your teacher... is somewhat good, and your friends have learned common sense enough to help also."

"So I should try to hold myself back?"

"Yes, hopefully you will learn restraint."

She then muttered to herself, "Your surroundings don't help do they..."

I didn't quite catch it, so I decided to ask mom how I should fix my personality, or if I should.  When I found her, she was meeting with a white bear beastman.  I decided to wait outside, but before I could start eavesdropping someone appeared behind me and put his or her hand on my shoulder.

I was startled and turned around quickly only to run into a hug.  It took me a moment to catch my bearings, but I realized that my father was hugging me. After a while he let me go, but how long has it been since he hugged me.  It was probably right before I went to school last year, so this is the first time I have seen him in a while.

I unconsciously smiled and said, "Hi dad, long time no see."

"What were you doing Ally?"

"Nothing"

"Should I ask your mom and Ellie, my cute daughter?"

I took a second and decided to ask him, "Dad, should I change myself?"

He looked at me seriously before saying, "You should be yourself Ally, change as you see fit, but allow yourself to be yourself.  Though I would ask that you try to avoid ending up in disastrous situations."

He sighed after he said the last part.  I was going to ask what mom was doing, but put his finger over my lips put his ear close to the door.  He then picked me up and threw open the door.  The occupants were startled, but what I found funny was that dad yelled, "Teddy" in an warm tone.

Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

My mom just looked at my dad like she lost her prey.

The white beastman said, "William, would you not call me that, and I am in the middle of negotiations."

"You could say that I am part of the negotiations too.  Also my wife is the one you are dealing with."

My dad proceeded to kiss mom and Teddy was stunned.

"Teddy, my wife is probably just trying to make you work for your goals.  Shelly, do you really have to make him this uptight?"

My mom countered with, "You know William, I just wanted to know the personality of your old friend.  It was interesting to see him scramble, especially when I kicked the emperor out of the room."

My dad sighed and I was confused about what had all happened, so I just decided to watch.  They seemed to all calm down and I asked mom, "Should I change myself?"

She looked at me and smiled, "Sweetie, you be who you want, I will always love you.  Just remember that too much curiosity causes situations."

My did chipped in with, "Then again, your mother may be like that also."

My mother just stared daggers at my dad before loosening her gaze.  I decided to go back to the garden and sort out my thoughts.  I really want to curb my curiosity, but I'm not sure if I can.  I will just have to hope that this isn't too ingrained into my personality.

Another session of over questioning ends with more questions than answers.  Does it ever actually end in more answers?

I spent the next couple of days just lounging around, waiting for my teacher to come.  I continued reading the book, but it seems that what I did wasn't mentioned. I wonder what type of teaching style he will have.

When he got here he came to my room and I was still getting dressed, but before he could come inside Ellie punched him in the face sending him far away.  Ellie then said, "Mistress, watch out for him." (Teacher is an oblivious person not creeper)

I was confused, but I nodded my head anyways and finished getting dressed.  When I went out teacher was spreading out the needed materials for his lesson.

"Ally, the first lesson is simple, but often overlooked part of magical tools.  Different materials have different properties, and therefore are suited for different enchantments.  If I put a simple water ball enchantment on this lava rod, you will deteriorate the lava rod and have a short living enchantment.  If I put a lightning enchantment on a water-attributed shell, it will increase the enchantment.  A water enchantment on a water attributed shell will make it normal."

"So a basic elemental strength and weakness."

"Yep, but it gets complicated with light, dark, void, space, and other magics.  You will need to memorize the materials natural attributed element/s."

"I have a question, what if I can see the elements?"

He looked at me again, giving me a once over and then said, "You will be able to succeed more often then a normal magical tool maker... knowing the magics of the material is a great benefit."

He then brought out a material that I had never seen before, but it looked really cool with magic eyes.  He asked, "What are the attributes of this King's rock?"

I looked and answered what I could see, "Space, light, fire, lightning, and air?"

"That is right, this was found in a cave that has all those attributes."

He threw the rock at me and I grabbed it and automatically felt an abnormality.  There was a plane inside this rock.  I was stunned.

The look on my face must have given me away because he looked amused and said, "Yes this rock holds a plane, it is the reason it is a King's Rock.  It is a world unto itself, and it sometimes transfers monsters and plants into them."

I started to wonder if I could create a King's rock.  Before that idea got off the ground he stated, "King's rocks are considered a pinnacle enchanting material. They are mostly made into a gate to enter that world, but their uses are almost unlimited.  I would say that until you are a master in all of the elements that it uses, you shouldn't even bother thinking about using it."

I realized that my curiosity caught up with me again and started to feel down again, but I was glad that the people around me know me and help me.  After the lesson he went home and it seemed he was making something, so he wasn't coming back for a week.

I decided to form a familiar contract with Misty using Tina's help while he was gone, so hopefully I can start understanding her more.  Well, hopefully everything goes well.
