I am so happy and looking forward to going to school.  I observed it in passing one day and it is gigantic.  The schooling system has an elementary school, a middle school, and a high school that all contain their own buildings.  I asked mom, "How many people would be in elementary school?"

She responded, "Only the upper class get to go to elementary school.  Most children will learn the basics from their parents in lower class homes where the children help with work."

I guess that means I will have a small class, but I look forward to seeing Kylie, Kade and Tristan.  I haven't seen them in a while and I think it is because our parents are dealing with some issue.  Maybe it deals with all the people in black that are appearing and disappearing around the city.  

I let Ellie dress me up today, she dressed me up in a black frilly dress that had red and blue accents of sparkles with a black headband that sported a blue ribbon.  Truthfully, I think most of my style revolves around red, blue and black.  

I also realized that restarting in a different body allows you to adapt better when you start as a baby.  Nothing is worse than reverting from 21 years old to a newborn.

Now I am heading on my way to the school, I am reminded by the silence my faults at socializing with new people.  I don't want to start the conversation.  I hope that there will be some magical items that can create new atmospheres and change the laws of physics.  Mom won't let me have any because she thinks I will hurt myself by abusing them or that I am not mature enough to handle them.

As I was admiring the view of my surroundings, we arrived at school.  When I looked toward my building where my schooling would take place once a week, I saw a couple of people go into the school.  I guess I didn't describe how the school looks like, it is a large building that forces the spectator to bend their neck to inspect it all.  I wonder why they would have such a large building for elementary school.  Its elegance stood out and an impression similar to a castle which begs the question "Why put in so much work?"  I would later find out it is because the magical nature of many classes uses a lot of area to avoid hurting other students.

At the front door there was someone standing there waiting, he seemed to be a guide for escorting newcomers to the classroom.  He was an interesting elderly man as he gave off the vibe he could do whatever he felt like.  I guess I will ask him some questions.

"Mister, why were you standing out front of the building?"

He gave me a once over and said, "I was waiting to see the little one who your father was always talking about."

Suspiciously I asked, "Then who are you?"

He answered "You will find out in due time little one, and we have arrived at your class.  Have fun discovering the world, Ally."

He walked away from me and disappeared in plain view.  I wonder if that is invisibility magic or if it is illusion magic.

I muttered to myself "Well that is disrespectful."

Ellie just didn't pay attention to the conversation and pushed me into the classroom.  I think she decided that I was asking her too many questions wanted a break while I was at school.  Anyways, as awkward as it is stumbling into a classroom it was way harder to endure the stares of my classmates.  I always wonder why everywhere I go that everybody stares at me.

I guess I will walk to a seat in the back of the room I want to hide.  The teacher had us introduce ourselves starting with the front of the room to the back.  There were only 20 of us in the class though and only Kylie is in this class with me.  As they snaked through the class, it was Rose, Lilly, Kylie, Edward, Max and continued on until it moved onto me.

"Hi," I stammered "I am Alexan... dra Embers."

I dropped my head in shame.  That went worse than I hoped.  Well, at least the teacher moved on to what we will learn, which for a while will learn to read.  I do not understand why it was the first topic, but it will help me immensely later.  So I am all for it, I think this language is just a switch of English with different letters for the same words, but it also seems to include romantic languages as substitutes for some words.  I guess this will really take time.  It will be strange considering English is how I translate words now.  Also, this feels like a second language rather than a first language.

As everybody tried to understand the letters, you could hear a chorus of letter sounds.  Since I spoke the language, I could put sounds to letters at a decent pace, but I need to figure out grammar along with the forms and spellings of words.

Anyways, as everybody finished with introductions and plans for the future we got time to get to know everybody.  I simply got up and hid behind Kylie because she was the only one I knew of everybody in the class and most of the other children already had acquaintances.  The only one that came up to greet me was Rose, and all the others looked at me with wary eyes.

Rose said, "Hi Alexandra, I'm Rose. I want to get along."

I may think I am being a weakling, but I haven't met many people in this world and my personality is timid.  It may be because of being excluded in my past life, but as instinct would make me, I wanted to live somewhat regularly in my youth this life. So everything is working against me in my mind.

Anyways, I said back to her "Yea that would be fun Rose, would you want to come to my house with Kylie sometime."

With my words both Kylie and Rose perked up, and we decided to get together sometime.

I hope that Rose is as laid back a Kylie, but only time will tell.  Kylie is always fun to be with because she doesn't care much for being popular and that is nice.

During our free time Rose, Kylie, and I roamed around the building.  I called to them and said "Come on, guys."

They were tired from running after me and Kylie said "Calm down Ally, we have so much time."

I replied "I don't get to do things like this often."  That is a lie, I disappear around my mansion a few times and the light scoldings follow.

Anyways, I had found a magic room was for target practice.  There were dummies enchanted to move and fly.  I wanted to try it, so I picked up the wooden sword from the floor and attempted to hit those dummies.  Only then did I realize that I unconsciously layered the sword with ambient mana. I hurried out of the room and lead Rose and Kylie away so they wouldn't view the split in half dummy.

In the shadows of the training room stood the headmaster who wrestled with his thoughts.  He let out a sigh and muttered to himself, "Well, let's see how you grow up little one".

As we entered the classroom again, the teacher told us we didn't have the next class for the week and to come back next week.  It also seems that along with school we will get tutors to help with individual needs.  This is interesting though because it shows that the school part is just for interacting with people instead of actual schooling.

As I headed home, Ellie asked me "Was school interesting Mistress?"

I answered "Yes it was, neither Kade nor Tristan are in my class, but Kylie and Rose are."

"Who is Rose?"

"She is my friend that I made today, I hope her and Kylie can come to my house."

"We will have to see about that Mistress."

As we got back to the mansion, Ellie, and I went to get something for supper.  It is always such good food so I can't complain much because it is much better than my diet in the other world.

As I wasted away time, I asked Ellie to get me some books that would help me with reading.  She came back with the books and then quietly left the room engrossed in learning how this language works.  It probably isn't like the runes that the fairies use.

As I think about the mana of the sword, I wonder how powerful magic will be when the restrictions lift in two years.  I hope that I can use healing magic since that was my focus in my previous world with biomedical engineering, but fire and water and nature are also interesting.  My mind wanders to if I can create my own types of plants when this happens.

I laughed myself to sleep as the possibilities flicker in my mind.
