You know the strangest things I learned during this summer are all quite weird; one was the fact that magical tools involve very complex workings and sometimes can cost a fortune.  Simple magical tools are cheep though, like ones similar to lighters.  I haven't been allowed to create them by my mom or my teacher until I learn almost everything before.  It makes me want to try, but also guilty if I do it.

The biggest change has been that after my familiar contract with Misty was finished, I found out something really fun.  She seems to understand the language, at least partially, but she mentally is more like a little girl.  I wonder if that is because I have sheltered her since most wild animals will grow up far more ferocious. It was really interesting though; when Tina and I made the contract the telepathy magic formula that I gained from being stupidly lucky was automatically made into a skill.

"Tina, so when we make the contract between Misty and myself, will she understand it?"

"Considering that it is made in multiple languages including inherent "monster" languages, then yes.  If she wouldn't understand it, do you think I would let you make the contract?"

"Yes... Do you know how many times you lie to me?  I feel like every time I do something influenced by you it is either going to end badly or be a prank... aka ending badly... for me."

She feigned shock and countered, "Since when have I ever lied to you?"

I thought about it and in my memories it seemed that she actually never actually lied to me.  She just didn't say the truth, realizing this point made me feel deceived, but she was right.

"Tina, would it be possible for you to not try and manipulate me?"

She answered like an innocent and naive child, "When have I manipulated you?"

I just gave up seeing that she didn't want to talk about it.  Hopefully she will come clean at some point.  As we finished making the contract I got Misty and brought her over.  She is usually in her cub form, so I carried her with me.

"Tina, let's start the contract.  If she doesn't want it, I won't force it."

"Ok, so just bring her into the center of the contract, it will allow her to see the terms of the contract."

I did as told and after about 10 minutes of Misty looking intently at the contract.  Well, by looking it is more that it appears before her eyes.  The contract is in a comprehensible language to the individual from how Tina explained the concept.  So I waited patiently since I have already done one before and she needed to understand it.

After she finished reading she put her paw on my forehead and a second later I got a notification.

Level 1 Beginner Void Magic learned

Telepathy Level 1 has been learned

That surprised me, but it didn't surprise me for long because Misty said in my mind, "Yes."

He voice was sweet and resembled a young girl, at least in my mind.  I ended up getting sidetracked for a while to do some research on magical beasts, I need to know maturity periods.  Anyways, since she accepted the contract and seemed to input void magic into my forehead I completed the contract by placing my magic power into the runes.

I wouldn't know for a while, until I leveled up telepathy, that Misty was told in the contract what to do if she chose yes.  Anyways, I gained a sister today.  Well, a cub sister and I didn't really gain her today.  Now I'm just confusing myself, I learned today that I would treat her like my little sister.  That is a welcomed surprise, and I wondered if Misty is naturally attuned to the void element and that is why she can change sizes.

Truthfully, I always smile as I look at Misty now.  I wonder if it is amusement or just that I view her as a source of happiness, like I do both Ellie and mom. Going through the events of the past summer are a decent distraction from this carriage ride.  It doesn't help that everything is usually awkward during the carriage ride, so petting Misty is the best way to pass time.  Since we keep our dorms throughout school, I am going back to my original dorms.  Last year I learned that I do not excel at physical activity.  So for now I will focus more on the magical side of things.

When I got out of the carriage Rose and Kylie ran up and gave me a hug, the suddenness shocked me.  I quickly gathered myself and hugged back, I saw Kade standing back a few steps so after they let go waved and said hi to him.  I think that he is having a competition going on with Tina now, so when they exchanged a glare before scoffing at each other I wasn't that confused.  

"Kylie, did Tristan not come in yet?"

She sulked and said, "No, he is always the last to come to school"

"Well, he has become better as of lately though.  I really want to mess with him though, he gets irritated far too easily."

She looked at me as if I was a rare animal, "Ally, you have no sense of atmosphere.  I really don't understand how you are even able to keep elegance even during pranks."

"Wait, I have elegance?"

Rose looked at Ellie and then back at me, "Yes Ally, you have elegance.  Do you think that the daughter of a duke would be allowed not to have elegance?"

I looked at Ellie and she looked away, so that is something that I didn't know.  Since when did I gain any type of elegance, I most certainly didn't gain a sense of self care.  As I was thinking hard about when, Rose added in, "Ally... I'm going to guess a lot of what you do wasn't trained, was it... Well if that is the case, you most likely gained it from being around people who have elegance."

That cleared up things, so it seems that I modeled behavior.  Actually this may be why people look at me so often, if I subconsciously acted like Ellie or my mom I am bound to stand out.  Their atmosphere is really isolating to say the least; then again my original atmosphere wasn't the most inviting either.  I wonder what the other students think about me.

Ellie pulled me from my thoughts, "Mistress, Rose, and Kylie should all head to your dorm to check in.  It will be sundown soon and you can all unpack to be ready for supper, I am cooking~"

That made me happy also, and Ellie's cooking has gotten better recently.  I'm not entirely sure why she wants to learn to cook though, but I won't complain if she makes the food so delicious.  So I pulled Rose and Kylie with me to check in.

After we all got checked in and unpacked I wanted to ask Rose and Kylie what classes they were taking this year.  Kylie was taking swordsmanship and Rose was taking archery.  All their other classes went with their elements, mathematics, and history.  It seems that the more complex things will start occurring later on.

Actually recently I have been wondering how normal people live in this empire, so I wonder how old I will have to be until mother and Ellie allow me to visit the commoners sector.  It seems that since this empire is abundant, there is less poverty.  It doesn't mean that there isn't any though so I just want to get a feeling for how a normal person lives since my sense of value has deteriorated greatly.

Anyways, since I knew what physical classes Rose and Kylie were taking I wanted to ask teacher if he could make some specialized equipment.  For Rose I want him to create arrows that will teleport back to the quiver after being used since I think that would be useful for practice.  I also wanted to see if he could make a weight-altering sword for Kylie and also Tristan.  I kind of need to ask what Kade is going to try doing.

My first goal of this semester is to create an underwater lair in the school pond.  I want to outdo my mom in some comparison; she is way too over the top.  Well, now that supper is over, time to cuddle Misty and go to sleep.
