Chapter - 8 : The Box
---
After the confrontation with Danny, Arthur made his way back to his home, parting ways with Zachery and Jerry. A heavy cloud of frustration and unhappiness hung over him, fueled by his own feelings of weakness and the reminder of his impoverished circumstances.
As he walked through the familiar streets, his mind was consumed by a sense of discontent. The stark contrast between his own struggles and the privileges enjoyed by others weighed heavily on his shoulders, deepening his dissatisfaction with his current situation.
"I'm home," Arthur said with a forced smile, not wanting to burden his mother with his worries. As soon as he spoke, Rose rushed towards the door and embraced him tightly. "Oh, you're back, son," Lyra greeted, her voice filled with warmth. Arthur was taken aback by her early arrival and questioned, "Mom, you're home early today?"
Lyra replied, her voice filled with genuine excitement, "How could I not be here today? It's the day my son receives his first Pokémon." Lyra worked tirelessly in a factory, manufacturing potions for healing. The working conditions were harsh, and the pay was meager. Arthur's heart ached as he thought about the immense sacrifices his mother made for their family's well-being.
After they entered the room, Arthur released Charcadet from its Poké Ball, saying, "Come out." Charcadet emerged, but its surroundings were unfamiliar, causing it to become cautious and alert. Sensing its unease, Arthur reassured Charcadet, saying, "Charcadet, this is our home. We'll be living here from now on." He proceeded to introduce his mother, Lyra, and his sister, Rose, to Charcadet.
Rose, enchanted by Charcadet's presence, reached out to touch it, but Charcadet instinctively pulled back, maintaining its guarded stance. Lyra, noticing Charcadet's , became concerned and asked anxiously, "Son, did someone trouble you?"
Lyra couldn't help but worry about the potential troubles Charcadet might bring into her son's life . The presence of a rare and powerful Pokémon like Charcadet could attract attention, both positive and negative .

"No, Mom, I'm fine. Not everyone is interested in Charcadet because its evolution requires an expensive item" Arthur responded.Lyra nodded understandingly, acknowledging the challenge Arthur mentioned. After conversing for a while longer, Arthur and Charcadet ascended the stairs to their room.
Charcadet rested comfortably on the bed, while Arthur sat at his desk, browsing the internet in search of the evolution item for Charcadet. However, he became disappointed as he discovered the exorbitant price of the item. Feeling disheartened, he closed his phone and glanced over at Charcadet, who was peacefully asleep. He took out the pokeball and put it inside .
Arthur settled on the bed, deep in thought about how he could best train and care for Charcadet. Lost in his contemplation, he was interrupted by a gentle knock on his door. Curious, he rose from the bed and opened the door, finding his mom standing there with a small box in her hands.
Her mom entered the room, closed the windows, drew the curtains, and switched on the lights, creating a cozy and private atmosphere in the room.
"Son, do you remember when robbers entered our house?" Lyra said, her voice filled with emotion. Arthur nodded, recalling the terrifying incident. "Those were not just robbers, they were your father's partners. Your father was involved in a theft, and he had hidden valuable items. After many years, they tracked down your father and killed him," Lyra explained, tears streaming down her face.
"You might be wondering why they didn't kill us," Lyra continued, her voice filled with pain. Arthur nodded, his heart heavy with the weight of the revelation. "Your father pleaded with them not to harm us, promising to reveal the location of the hidden items," she explained, her sobs becoming louder. Arthur felt overwhelmed, unsure of how to console his grieving mother. He simply held her and let her cry, offering his silent support in that moment of sorrow.
After her tears subsided, Lyra placed the box gently into her son's hands. "Arthur, this is what your father left for me. He entrusted me to give it to you when you received your first Pokémon," she explained, her voice filled with a mix of sadness and anticipation.
Arthur held the box with a mixture of curiosity and reverence, wondering what could be inside.Lyra left him and went to her room . Arthur then closed the room and carefully opened it .
