Chapter - 4 : School
---
Arthur walked downstairs and found his sister Rose sitting at the dining table, munching on her breakfast. Seeing her brother approach, she greeted him with a mouthful of food, "Good morning, brother."
Arthur, in response, playfully pinched her cheeks, to which she rubbed them and shouted, "Mom!"
Lyra, hearing the commotion, scolded Arthur, "Arthur, don't tease your sister. Come here and eat your breakfast."
Arthur, then, complied with his mother's instructions and joined them at the table.
After finishing his breakfast, Arthur waved goodbye to his family and headed off to school. As he made his way through the neighborhood, he noticed the less fortunate conditions of the area. The streets were lined with dirt, and the roads emitted an unpleasant smell. It was evident that the people living there faced significant challenges and lived in poverty. Arthur couldn't help but feel a sense of empathy as he observed the difficult circumstances surrounding him.
Soon, Arthur arrived at Holar High School, which was located in an area that was relatively better than his own neighborhood, although not in the wealthiest part of the city. As he walked towards his classroom, he couldn't help but notice the diverse range of students. Some of them were dressed in worn-out clothes, showing signs of repeated washing. Arthur could see visible stitches on their clothes, indicating efforts to mend them. On the other hand, there were students who were dressed more neatly and could be assumed to come from more affluent families. The stark contrast in appearances within the student body reminded Arthur of the economic disparities that existed within his school community.
Arthur belonged to Class D, which was designated for students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. In this school, sections were primarily divided based on the donations families made to support the institution. Unfortunately, Arthur's class, Class D, had limited resources and faced the consequences of inadequate funding. As a result, they had a shortage of teachers, and the quality of education provided to them was significantly compromised compared to the treatment received by students in other sections. It was disheartening for Arthur and his classmates to witness the disparity in opportunities and support available to them compared to their peers in more privileged sections of the school.

Arthur entered his classroom and made his way to his seat, lost in his thoughts. However, his contemplation was interrupted by a well-groomed student who approached him. It was Zachery Sain, a strikingly good-looking individual who seemed out of place in their class. According to Zachery, he had previously resided in the wealthiest part of the city, but due to unforeseen circumstances, his family had to relocate to their current area.
Despite his handsome appearance, Zachery faced challenges within the classroom dynamics. His popularity among the girls led to envy and ridicule from some of the boys. This could be attributed to their own feelings of resentment towards Zachery's seemingly more favorable circumstances.
"Well, I am," said Arthur, acknowledging his identity. Just then, a short and thin boy approached them, joining the conversation. He expressed his frustration, saying, "What can we do? We are poor, and our families cannot afford to buy high-quality Pokémon. We can only choose from the eggs provided by the government."
This thin boy was Jerry Rule, a friend of both Arthur and Zachery. Arthur had known Jerry since childhood as they lived in the same neighborhood. Zachery joined them later when he transferred to their school.
Jerry's statement was accurate. The government would distribute Pokémon eggs each year for individuals who couldn't afford to purchase Pokémon. However, these eggs typically contained weak Bug-type Pokémon or Pokémon of relatively low strength. The chances of receiving a strong or desirable Pokémon from these government-provided eggs were rare.
"Zachery, did your parents choose a Pokémon for you?" Jerry asked, his tone tinged with jealousy.
"Yes, my uncle actually bought me a Pokémon yesterday," Zachery replied. The excitement in his voice was evident.
Curiosity sparked within Jerry, and Arthur also appeared eager to know. "What Pokémon did your uncle get for you?" Jerry inquired.
Zachery smiled mischievously, enjoying the suspense he was creating. "I won't reveal my Pokémon just yet. Once both of you have chosen your Pokémon egg, then I'll be excited to show you mine."
Jerry and Arthur exchanged intrigued glances, their curiosity piqued by Zachery's teasing. They eagerly anticipated the moment when they would have their own Pokémon
Arthur couldn't help but ask, "When do you think we'll be able to choose our Pokémon egg?"
Zachery shrugged playfully. "Well, I'm not sure, but hopefully soon. Let's keep an eye out for any updates or announcements from the school."
Jerry nodded, a hint of excitement evident in his eyes. "I can't wait to see what Pokémon I'll get!"
