Chapter - 60 : Zachery and Jerry - III
---
At the end of the day, the performance of the students from the poor area in the matches was quite disappointing. Apart from Zachery, who emerged victorious, the other students faced defeat in their respective battles. However, considering their limited resources and lower-level Pokémon, it was commendable that they had managed to train three Pokémon to this extent.
Jerry patiently waited for his turn throughout the day, but unfortunately, he did not get the opportunity to showcase his skills in the Pokémon battle. It was a bit disappointing for him, as he was eager to participate and demonstrate the strength of his Pokémon.
The next day ,
Arthur and Zachery sat together to see Jerry together . Several matches commenced and finally turn of Jerry came . His opponent was also from the poor area .
Jerry and David faced each other in the battle, anticipation filling the air. David sent out his level 18 Butterfree, while Jerry sent out a level 19 Pawmo. Arthur couldn't hide his astonishment as he saw Jerry's Pokémon, and Zachery couldn't help but tease Arthur, hinting that there was more to come. The referee signaled the start of the battle, and both trainers prepared themselves for an exciting showdown.
The match began with Pawmo initiating the attack using Quick Attack, landing a hit on Butterfree. In retaliation, Butterfree used Wing Attack, striking Pawmo. The sight of Pawmo getting injured made Jerry nervous, but he remained determined. Pawmo swiftly recovered and countered with Nuzzle, paralyzing Butterfree, and followed up with Thundershock and Quick Attack, ultimately defeating Butterfree.
David then sent out his level 21 Raticate, engaging in a fierce battle with Pawmo. Although Pawmo put up a good fight with consecutive Arm Thrust moves, Raticate emerged as the victor, albeit sustaining some injuries from Pawmo's attacks.
Undeterred, Jerry switched to his level 23 Golbat, which proved to be a formidable opponent for the already injured Raticate. Golbat swiftly defeated Raticate with its powerful Wing Attack. David, feeling ashamed, reluctantly sent out his level 15 Mankey, realizing the vast difference in level and type advantage.
Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.
With its superior level and type advantage, Golbat easily secured the victory using Wing Attack, overpowering Mankey. Jerry emerged triumphant.
After the matches concluded for the day, Arthur, Zachery, and Jerry left the stadium together and made their way back home. They walked side by side, discussing the thrilling battles they had witnessed and sharing their excitement for the upcoming matches.
As they walked side by side, Arthur couldn't contain his astonishment and admiration. "You both truly surprised me with your exceptional performance," he said with a smile. Looking at Zachery, he remarked, "I still remember when you first told me about your second pokemon being Vulpix, and now it has evolved into such a strong Pokémon. Well done!" Turning to Jerry, he continued, "And Jerry, your Pawmi has grown so much. From that little egg to a formidable Pawmo at level 19, it's incredible. I can't wait to see what Pokémon you'll reveal next. The anticipation is killing me!"
Jerry playfully teased Arthur, a mischievous grin on his face. "Oh, Arthur, you'll just have to wait until I encounter a worthy opponent who can make me reveal my third Pokémon. I won't give away my surprise that easily!" he exclaimed, adding an air of mystery to his words. The friends laughed together.
Arthur turned his attention to Zachery and asked with curiosity, "Zachery, I'm curious to know where you encountered your Pinsir. It's not a Pokémon you see every day."
Zachery shared the story of how, after Arthur embarked on his journey, he and Jerry decided to explore the grasslands cautiously. During one of their training sessions, they stumbled upon an injured and unconscious Pinsir. Showing compassion, Zachery used potions to heal Pinsir's wounds. To his surprise, when he asked Pinsir if it would like to join him, the Pokémon agreed. Zachery continued by mentioning that Jerry also encountered his third Pokémon in the same area. Jerry's case was quite different, though, as his Pokémon was fast asleep. Taking a chance, Jerry decided to throw a Pokéball, and it miraculously captured the sleeping Pokémon.
As Arthur heard the story, he glanced at Jerry with astonishment, marveling at his friend's incredible luck right from the beginning of their journey. Jerry, feeling a bit bashful, sheepishly rubbed his nose in response to Arthur's gaze.
