Dominic was surrounded by a glowing light for a few seconds and it dimmed before vanishing, revealing him to have appeared in a secluded alleyway inside the Mardana Kingdom’s capital. No sooner had he verified about the place he was at that a sudden burst of lightning roared down from the sky somewhere in the distance.
He looked up at the sky with amazement as bursts of lightning were being fired in all directions while small zaps were moving around at an incredible speed. It looked like some kind of display was going on, but he sensed That this was more than that and that the one launching such degree of lightnings was Valerian, the Storm Titan. He sensed that he was battling against a powerful foe that seemed to be equally as strong as him but felt off about it.
“Looks like your ally is fighting a fierce battle against this unknown foe,” said the voice of his Destiny Sword, Semazetadin, “however the enemy seems to be increasing in strength as the battle seems to prolong.”
“Yeah!” Dominic agreed, also coming to the same conclusion as he witnessed the fierce battle from the ground. Then he began to sense the location of his friend while muttering, “Where’s Nara?”
It only took him a few seconds to sense the whereabouts of the War Titan and was startled to find that his friend’s energy levels were quite low. He also appeared to be surrounded by several people clustered around him, which made Dominic fear the worst and quickly kick off the ground to fly towards him as fast as he could.
He soon arrived to a scene where there were several people looking from a fair distance away at the War Titan, who was lying on the ground facing up. There were a few people that were near him, who looked to be armoured knights and one of them he realised was the King of Mardana Kingdom, Athurus. None of them noticed him flying due to the heated battle raging in the sky and were startled when he landed firmly just a few feet away from his collapsed friend.
“Nara!” He called, quickly hurrying over and kneeling before him. “Are you alright?”
Nara weakly opened his eyes and looked up at his friend before smiling and saying, “Oh? Dom? You’re finally here.”
He was not in any good shape, as there were numerous cuts and bruises all over his body as well. It made the Sword Titan feel sad to see his friend in such a beaten state and looked towards Athurus with a serious expression.
Athurus saw his expression and panicked, which made him quickly state, “Hold on! I had nothing to do with these injuries!”
“I know that!” Dominic snapped at him, which made the king flinch. “What I want is an explanation to what happened that transpired to him getting this badly beaten?!”
Athurus blinked in surprise at his firm expression before beginning to say, “That’s no way to talk to a king—!”
He did not manage to finish his sentence when Dominic suddenly whipped out his sword and jabbed it into his mouth threateningly before saying, “Want to see what kind of king you’d be if this goes any further into your mouth?!”
The king blinked twice with fear in his eyes and quickly shook slightly to not cause the sword to cut his sides. His guards also seemed to be restraining themselves from defending their king when he was so close to losing his throat.
“Now, don’t waste time and answer my question!” Dominic fired at him and pulled his sword back before sheathing it.
The Mardana Kingdom’s King breathed coughed a few times and looked at him with fear before doing as he was told by recounting everything that had happened from the moment Zen Phylon departed from there to get backup.
The War Titan had transformed into his large hulking form that was very beastly and wild in appearance and summoned a pair of gauntlets to wear on his hands. Then he launched into battle against the monster girl, which heated up very quickly to the point that they no longer fought on the ground and took the battle to the skies instead.
They attached each other rapidly multiples times at unbelievable speeds before Nara got the upper hand by blocking her and delivering a stunning blow to her gut. While she was reeling from the attack, he moved in and landed blow after blow on her face and body before piercing his hands into her chest and splitting her in half.
Her body parts fell to the ground and it looked like the battle was over, but like before, the monster girl’s remains began to go back together and reformed into her. Then she roared and charged at him and delivered such a blow that she was sent straight flying across the sky, but he recovered and came back to resume the fierce battling against the monster girl.
Several times, he attempted to destroy her by firing a massive wave of destruction directly in her face and another time engulfed her entire body, seemingly vaporising her from existence. However, she seemed to always come back together much stronger than before and began to give the War Titan a challenging battle like he had never experienced before.
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
Athurus recounted how Nara, in all of his frustration, shouted at the monster, “Dammit! What are you?! Some kind of undead?!”
“An undead…?” Dominic asked, looking puzzled and looked down at his weakened friend. “Perhaps, but even an undead can’t return to life so many times and require a Necromancer to bring them back. From what you explained, this monster doesn’t seem to be relying on any kind of resurfacing magic by any magician nearby?”
“I thought about that too, but my magicians haven’t been able to detect any such magicians within the boundaries of the capital,” replied Athurus, indicating to the side where a few people with staffs stood looking very tired.
Dominic glanced at them and then back at the king before asking, “Okay, but how did Valerian get into this?”
“That… was an amazing display of power,” remarked Athurus, suddenly looking amazed.
He counted how the War Titan was soon overpowered and beaten to a pulp before sent flying down to the ground with a heavy impact. As the ground shook and a crater formed where he crashed, the monster girl roared and flew down with a bloodthirsty intent on taking his life, which was when the Storm Titan rose to the challenge.
“He suddenly muttering something and instantly, all this lightning suddenly began to get sent all over the place and when it cleared, there he stood; shining like the incarnation of the God of Thunder as he was surrounded by random bursts of lightning as well as glowing in a white light,” explained Athurus in detail while looking awed.
“I see,” said Dominic shortly, and he looked up at the sky where the battle between the monster girl and Valerian raged on. “What did he do afterwards?”
Athurus did not reply as he was still in awe, but someone next to him spoke in his stead by saying, “He fired this massive sphere of lightning at that monster, which caused it to scream like anything and get torn to shreds. But it came back as you can see and continues to pose a problem as the young man bravely fought it.”
He explained in detail how the warrior was dashing back and forth around the monster while attacking only a couple of times as it tried to keep up with his speed, but he was simply too fast for it. As such, the monster could not land a single blow on the young man while he was able to land several attacks on the monster, including a few such as a massive thunder from the sky, a lightning sphere that exploded violently on contact and squashing the monster in a water prison after successfully imprisoning it.
“I see,” said Dominic again, this time a small smile forming on his face with pride at the strength the young warrior was able to display.
“It seems like he was stalling for time until you arrive,” said the voice of his sword, sounding impressed. “That’s quite impressive for a young man that juke woke up several days ago from who knows how long he had been asleep for.”
“Indeed,” said Dominic in agreement, but he became serious as he said, “and now that I’m here; this battle is mine.”
He unsheathed his sword and held it high in the air before shouting, “Val!”
At his shout, the Storm Titan backed away from their enemy and turned to look down at him.
“Dodge!” The Storm Titan shouted at him warningly before shouting, “Raining Blades!”
With his shout, he activated the power of his sword by channelling his Energy Force into it. In an instant, a magic circle appeared in the sky before many swords began flying out of it and soared towards both the monster girl and Valerian.
Since he was warned beforehand, Valerian instantly got out of the way in a flash of white like a lightning. The monster, on the other hand, hovered there and roared at the incoming swords without bothering to move out of the way. As such, it got pierced by multiple swords all over its body which others caused cuts on other parts, causing her to roar in pain.
Seizing the opportunity, Dominic activated another spell of his sword and said, “Exploding Blade.”
In an instant, all of the swords that surrounded her and pierced into her began to glow before exploding with great force. This caused violent winds to blow everywhere as shock waves were sent in all directions and buffeting everyone in the process.
For a few seconds, the cloud of smoke covered sky before it slowly disappeared to reveal a floating monster girl with her body partially blown off. It glared down at him with great anger as her blown body parts began to fly back and put themselves back together until she appeared good as new.
“It’s like she is immortal or something,” said Valerian coldly, breathing a sigh as he remained in his lightning form and stared at her.
“That can’t be!” Athurus exclaimed, looking at them in horror. “How can immortality be a thing?!”
“It’s not something to rule out,” said Valerian, and he turned to look coldly at him, “and you still haven’t told me how you know who I am and understand what I’m saying.”
“You’re still on about that?!” Athurus exclaimed, looking shocked.
“Regardless,” Dominic cut across them, “this thing is dangerous whether it is truly immortal or not. The Mardana Kingdom will be levelled if we don’t stop its rampage.”
“No…!” Athurus said, looking horrified by the Sword Titan’s summary of the damage it could cause his kingdom. “Not like the Rodfox Kingdom…! No…!” He muttered feebly before looking at the monster and further saying, “Stupid thing. Why are you out of control? This wasn’t supposed to happen!”
“Huh?” Dominic asked, feeling like he just heard something very serious and became instantly suspicious of the king.
But his mind was diverted when the monster let out a blood curdling roar and began to surge with an incredible amount of power. It was powering up and this caused the ground to shake while wild winds were sent in all directions. As everyone got buffeted by it, Valerian and Dominic turned to face it with serious looks on their faces.
“We’ll need to find a way to stop this thing because it really becomes way stronger than us,” remarked Dominic in a serious voice.
“Yes, but how?” Valerian asked curiously.
“I don’t know,” replied Dominic, to which the Storm Titan let out a weary sigh, “but that can wait. First, I’ve got to ssee what this thing is capable of.”
“Wait. You don’t mean?”
As Dominic nodded and said, “Step back and defend from here on, Val. This monster is now mine to contend with.”
With that, he began to power up by surging with immense power while radiating golden aura that surrounded him. Valerian watched as the Sword Titan stepped forward and readied to do battle with what seemed like a monster that might be unkillable.
