The God of Calamity, Climax, straightened up and stared at the Overlord with a sour look on his face.
“Who the heck?”
“I… am the man that your son mind-controlled!” The Overlord shouted angrily.
Climax blinked at him for a moment in silence and then asked, “Who?” As the other person was shocked, he shrugged his shoulders and said, “Well, it’s kind of hard to pinpoint whom my son controlled since there are way too many to list.”
The Overlord stared at him in disbelief and shouted, “I’m the Overlord, ruler of the planet, Gorgus!”
This made Climax raise an eyebrow in amusement and ask, “Ah! I remember now! You’re that Demigod that went by the ridiculous title of the Overlord? This is a rather funny way for us to meet for the first time, isn’t it?”
“It may be funny to you, but it’s not funny to me!”
With that retort, the Overlord surged with power and rushed forward to smash his fist straight into his enemy’s face, however, Climax merely dodged and hit him across the side. The Overlord’s eyes widened in shock, and he gritted his teeth from the pain, but he quickly kicked off the ground and landed several meters away. The moment he landed, he began firing energy blast after energy blast in his direction, causing explosions to occur on impact.
“Your son tricked me, fooled me, promising me that I could be a useful warrior if I worked for me, but he placed me under his control and used me to his own ends, making me do things I cannot believe I was made to do against my will!” The Overlord shouted as he continued to fire blast after blast at him.
“Argh! Enough complaining, cry-baby!” Climax snapped, and he waved his hand to cause the wave of incoming energy blasts to get destroyed in mid-flight. Then he looked at his enemy as if he was a pest and asked, “Seriously, I don’t care what the hell happened between you and my son. Go take it out on him, not me!”
“But he is your son!”
“He is my son,” Climax confirmed in a firm voice, “but what he does is his thing, and what I do is my thing. Don’t lump us together, stupid.”
The Overlord was shocked by what he heard and demanded, “You’re a God, aren’t you?! How can you condone any of his actions that he had done to me and the people that believed and followed me! Do you have any idea how many atrocities we have committed because of him?!”
Climax sighed and replied wearily, “Frankly speaking, I don’t care about your circumstances.” As the Overlord looked at him in shock, Climax went on to say, “Of course, I don’t condone the trickery and foolish behaviour my son had shown by taking possession of you, however, I would also like to point out that it’s also your damn fault for falling for his trickery in the first place.”
At his words, the Overlord stared at him in a shocked disbelief before he said, “I can’t believe I’m hearing this from a God! It’s unfair!”
To that, Climax burst into a hilarious laughter and slowly recovered while asking him, “Unfair? Ha.” Then he suddenly became serious and asked, “Do you know what fair and unfair is, what good and bad is, what right and wrong is, what justice and injustice is?”
“If I didn’t know them, I wouldn’t be standing here facing you!” The Overlord replied in a firm voice with a serious look on his face.
Climax nodded and began striding back and forth slowly as he said, “Yes. I suppose you do, but it’s based on your own perceptiveness, right?”
“What?”
“Everything is based on our own perceptiveness, isn’t it? Good, bad, right, wrong, and all those things,” said Climax as he walking back and forth while the Overlord watched with a suspicious look on his face. “So, you tell me, boy, is it wrong to take revenge on someone when they’ve robbed something very important from you? Is it the wrong thing to do to take revenge by destroying everything that person owned and ever loved because of the cruelty he had dealt me with?”
He stopped pacing around and turned to face his enemy and finally asked, “You tell me, boy. Is it wrong to take revenge for such reasons?”
“It’s… It’s not wrong,” admitted the Overlord grudgingly, although he looked troubled by what he had to agree to, “but you should know that revenge wouldn’t achieve anything. It’s all… a waste in the end.”
“I would agree,” said Climax much to the Overlord’s surprise, “but what if taking revenge has results that helps you bring back what you’ve lost?”
“What?!” The Overlord asked in alarm. “What do you mean?”
“Taking revenge bring about a result that gives you control, control to make a new start, a new beginning, a brand-new chapter in your life, control to bring back what you lost! When you have such a choice at the end of the revenge, what do you say then, boy?”
The Overlord hung his mouth open in shock as he stared at his enemy in a dumbstruck manner. He did not know what to think of it as he firmly believed that no good comes out of taking out and fulfilling one’s revenge. However, here was a God claiming that something good could come out of it.
Suddenly, a realisation dawned on him, and he slowly widened his eyes as he muttered, “Wait…! D-Don’t tell me… t-that’s the… the thing about The Creator?!”
This surprised Climax, who looked amused as he asked, “Wow. So, you know the secret only known to the Gods. How?”
“Your son.”
For a moment, the Overlord thought he saw a sudden flare of anger in the other man’s face, but he thought he imagined it because he saw the God of Calamity appear normal and smiling. However, he could sense that the man’s mood had changed completely and was becoming dangerous.
“I see. I’ll have a word with him afterwards,” muttered Climax in a quiet voice. Then he looked towards his enemy and said, “Well then, I suppose I have to get rid of you for possessing knowledge you shouldn’t have.”
Before the Overlord could react, he extended his hand out and aimed it at him before clicking his fingers. In an instant, a black sphere quickly spread around the Overlord and almost surrounded him when Engruat, the God of Energy, appeared out of nowhere and activated his godly powers. This resulted in the instant cancellation of the spell that Climax had invoked to utterly destroy the Overlord.
“It’s not nice to attack an unrelated party, Climax,” said Engruat coldly.
Climax returned the cold stare and replied, “You’ll die if you keep getting in my way, Engraut.”
As Engraut chuckled, all three men suddenly felt a tremendous surge of power coming from somewhere nearby. They turned to face in that direction and saw the fused warrior, who was the fusion of the Nine Heroes of Legends, surging with incredible power while radiating golden-red aura that surrounded him.

“I wonder why that alien is suddenly defending us?” Vikram asked inside the fused warrior’s mind when they saw the Overlord unexpectedly come to their rescue.
“Maybe he had a change of heart?” Fred asked hopefully.
“You’re too soft to think that way, Fred,” said Gram coldly. “That God is also his enemy probably and just chose to prioritise fighting him over us.”
“Now isn’t the time to be thinking about that!” Natsu said sharply in a serious manner. “Meteors are falling all around the world! Lucky! Hurry up with whatever you’re doing!”
“Patience. He’s almost ready,” said Asura calmly.
“What is he doing?” William asked him curiously. “I don’t think any of us, other than you, has any clue what he’s doing.”
“Yeah, I know because it’s a technique I invented,” replied Asura with a smile.
“What?” William asked, looking surprised by his words.
“To that note, what is your relationship with Lucky?” Maxwell asked him suspiciously.
Asura turned and looked at him with a small smile and said, “You could say… I was the first ‘him’ to exist.”
“Huh?” Maxwell asked, looking confused. “That doesn’t make any sense.”
“It doesn’t need to,” said Asura with a light chuckle.
He turned to look at Natsu, who was eying him with a strange look as if he was thinking over his words. He noticed Ward, who stood beside Natsu, looking at him with interest and understood that the ever so curious mind of the Walmeky Hero was pondering over his words.
At that moment, they suddenly felt a tremor run through where they stood under the spotlight and heard the fairy say, “Alright! He’s almost ready!”
“Wow! This is an insane amount of power!” William remarked in amazement.
“It’s massive indeed!” Maxwell agreed while nodding his head.
“But what technique is it?” Fred asked curiously.
Asura turned to face the front and smiled in his usual crazy manner and said, “Multi Cast: Elemental Coated Armour!”
As he spoke, on the outside, Lakshman in control over the fused body, activated his powers and caused an explosion of energy from within him. It surrounded him like his aura, but continued to expand to greater size. Then the energy suddenly split into pieces like a thread, flying high through the air at an alarming speed until almost the entire sky was covered by them as they soared towards each and every meteor falling from the sky.
Everyone, around the world, looked up to see the high-speed flying threads of energy that soared overhead and made contact with the meteors falling down on their planet. Upon making contact, the energies would immediately spread around the meteor until the entire thing was encased like a cocoon by the energy. Then a mighty flash of light that brightened the sky far more than the sun, causing everyone to close their eyes and when it dimmed, they look up to see that the meteors had completely disappeared along with the magic circle that summoned them.
“Wow!”
“Did you see that?!”
“Yeah! I did!”
“They’re gone!”
“They’re not there anymore!”
“We’re saved!”
“Someone saved us!”
“But who?!”
“It must be the Nine Heroes of Legends!”
“The heroes!”
“It has to be them! Who else possesses this kind of power?!”
“Yeah! The heroes!”
“The heroes are awesome!”
“They’re great!”
Soon, the people all around began chanting the name of the Nine Heroes of Legends over and over repeatedly. While they did that, the threads of energy retracted quickly back to where the fusion warrior stood and the energy dissipated as he held his hand out to make the collected shrunk meteor rocks in his hand hover above his palm.
“Phew. That was tiring,” he muttered wearily.
“Wow! That was awesome!” Vikram commented excitedly.
“Yes! That was remarkable!”
“Heh. I can do that too,” Gram scoffed, but he sounded a little impressed.
The fusion warrior smiled and said, “Thanks, guys, but it wasn’t for show. Now, let’s get back at that bastard.”
“Right on!” Vikram, William, and Maxwell said together with fierce voices.
With that, the fusion warrior surged with power and kicked off the ground to fly straight towards the God of Calamity. Both the Overlord and Engraut were surprised as he flew past them at an alarming speed and unleashed his fist upon his enemy’s face. At the last moment, however, Climax brought up his right arm and blocked the attack as he realised his enemy could destroy the barrier and strike him when he dropped his guard because of feeling safe.
“So much force, but it’s all useless!” Climax shouted, and he waved his arm back to push his enemy away.
As he got pushed back, the fused warrior took aim with his fingers and flicked one of the small rocks at his enemy. The rock turned into a speed bullet and smashed into Climax’s face with tremendous force, causing his head to fly back and him to reel back from the strong impact.
“Argh!” Climax cried, rubbing the corner of his forehead where the rock had hit and turned to glare at his enemy.
Just then, another speeding bullet, in the form of another rock, shot forward and smashed into his head again. He spun around while reeling back from the strong impact while rubbing his head where it hurt. Once again, another rock came zooming in and smashed into his back, causing him to lurch and groan from the heavy impact.
Using his fingers in a firing position, the fused warrior launched rock after rock with incredible force at his enemy relentlessly. He was not willing to give his enemy the chance to escape from this barrage of rocks, which contained the mass of the meteors they once were, to cause as much damage to his enemy as possible.
Once he ran out of rocks to launch, he began utilising Force Control to raise the fired rocks into the air, which contain the energy he supplied them with so that he could control them remotely. From there, he caused them to smash heavily into the God of Calamity to cause him quite a bit of damage. Soon, Climax was bruised by this endless barrage of rocks smashing into him.
“That’s enough!” Climax shouted as he finally had enough of this attack.
He clapped his hands together in front of him and caused a dome like destructive energy to form and spread all around him. The rocks quickly crumbled and broke into pieces, which he began controlling with his godly powers by waving his hand and sending them flying straight towards his foe.
Seeing the incoming attack, the fused warrior held his left hand out and conjured a powerful barrier. It acted as a strong wall against the charged attack, destroying all that smashed into it and leaving nothing to bring harm to the hero. Once this died down, Climax charged forward and smashed through his barrier to punch him in the face, but as the fused warrior reeled back, the hero spun his body around and smashed his leg across his enemy’s face.
Like this, the two strongest entities present in the Alzard World resumed their battle against one another, with even more ferocity than before. Watching them from nearby was Engraut and the Overlord, who remained stunned and silent by this serious battle while Erza watched this battle unfold from afar. She held her hands together and watched with apprehension on her face, hoping for the hero to win this fight.
Meanwhile, in the headquarters of the League of Heroes, the command was pleading with the king by pleading him, “Sir! I strictly advice you against this plan! This is extremely dangerous!”
“Dangerous times calls for drastic measures, Cyde!” The king replied in a cold voice.
The two, who were flanked by several Royal Guards, entered into the control room. People were seated on chairs and speaking rapidly into their microphones while giving instructions and receiving new information on the go. On the screen, the two men could see a vastly destroyed part of the capital and saw that a fierce battle was going on between two individuals.
“What’s going on?” The commander demanded while the king strolled and sat down in his chair.
“Sir,” began one of the men as they spun on their chair and began briefing him on the details.
“What?! You’ve lost the life signatures of all nine heroes and a new one appeared alongside the unidentified enemy?”
“That’s right, sir,” said the speaker anxiously. “Also, it appears that new individual had used his powers just now to make the meteors vanish completely from our radar.”
“How can that be?” Cyde asked in wonder, turning to look at the screen displaying the battle between the two warriors.
“The heroes must’ve fused together to become that new individual,” said the king offhandedly.
“Pardon me, sir?” Cyde asked, turning to look at him in surprise. “Do you mean fusion?”
The king nodded and replied, “Yes. There were texts describing of something similar happening long ago when the first Nine Heroes of Legends appeared and combined their powers together to fight a great evil threat that threatened the safety of our world. It seems like we are in a similar situation as that time now.”
Cyde stared at him in amazement before he turned to his staff and demanded, “How is the battle so far? Who is winning?!”
“We’re unable to calculate the final outcome, sir,” said one of them worriedly, “but the battle has been even so far.”
“I see. Then we still have a chance,” said Cyde confidently. Then he turned to the king and said, “There’s no need to resort to that drastic measure, sir!”
He was startled when he saw the king looking worried and heard him muttering, “I don’t like this.”
“Sir?” He asked curiously.
“I don’t like this, commander,” replied the king, glancing at the screen to see the battle. “Even with the combined powers of all nine warriors fusing together is making them fight evenly against this foe, then we’re in trouble.”
Cyde became worried by the drastic thinking of the king and asked, “Sir, you’re overthinking this.”
The king, on the other hand, shook his head in denial and said, “No. This is more than enough reason to activate the plan.” He turned to look at Cyde with a serious face and this made the commander feel very afraid when he heard the words coming from the king, “We have to launch the bomb.”
