ARC 15: Chapter 416 - Pillars vs. Testaments (Middle Part 2)

ARC 15: Chapter 416 - Pillars vs. Testaments (Middle Part 2)

On the Bazaraka Continent, a fierce battle was being waged between the Magic Titan and the Testament of Humiliation, Lustrous. Earlier, she was leading him away from the Demon Continent when he suddenly started attacking her from behind, which caused her some problems to fly to a faraway distant island. As such, they had landed quite a distance away from the war being waged between the demons and the warriors of the continent.

“Take this!” Lustrous yelled with a gleeful look on his face.

He fired a black bullet like energy blasts as well as casting magic circles that would appear around her to shower her with lightning, but she countered it all by surrounding herself with a magic barrier that caused the lightning to bounce away while leaving her unharmed. In retaliation, she waved her staff and launched magic balls that appeared at the end of her staff. Flying high into the air, they immediately fired a jet of destructive wave at him, which he diverted with his bare hands after enhancing them with Magic Force of his own.

“You’re so good, I like it! Why don’t you become mine and we’ll be one?!” he asked with a lusting look on his face.

“Disgusting,” she retaliated telepathically before tapping her staff on the ground, causing magic circles to appear all around him before golems, looking like humans, rose to the surface.

“GROROOO!!” they all yelled and charged at him with the intent to beat him up.

“Ah! I don’t like them,” he said and waved his hand, causing magic circles to appear beneath the golem’s feet before they exploded, turning the stone like creatures into pieces of rubble that fell dully on the ground. “Now, why don’t you deal with mine?”

With a gleeful look on his face, he clapped his hands and placed them on the ground. In an instant, several magic circles appeared in front of him before dark light came out from the magic circles and transformed into large skeletons that wore knight armour and wielded a heavy sword in its hand. Their horrible screams caused anyone hearing it to feel an eerie chill to run down their spine, but Amaranda remained calm as she faced these creatures.

“Meet my Undead Knights! Undead Knights, meet your future mistress! Now, go and bring her back!”

With the order given, the undead knights began moving forward when a large magic circle appeared to surround both the monsters and their caster in its radius. Feeling it was dangerous, the Testament of Humiliation instantly surrounded himself with a powerful barrier spell just as the magic circle grew blindingly bright before turning into a massive explosion that shook the continent greatly, which caused the wind to blow wildly around, shock waves to go everywhere as well as raising a huge amount of smoke into the air.

Several seconds later, the smoke cleared and revealed Amaranda standing at her position with her staff touching the ground, which indicated that she was responsible for that destruction. At the same time, on the other side, Lustrous had survived the explosion with his barrier defending against most of the destruction while his body sported bruises and cuts from where chunks of rocks penetrated through the struggling barrier to inflict him with wounds.

“That’s not nice! Not nice at all to kill off my creatures so quickly!” he shouted, looking hurt while pointing a finger at her. “Your creatures were the horrible lowlife golems, so I destroyed them fairly easily, but mine are undead knights! They deserved an honorable death and not go down in such a humiliating way!”

Amaranda remained silent for a moment before telepathically replying, “I see, but you’re the Testament of Humiliation, right? So, their demise in such a manner befits your title more. Don’t you agree?”

The Magic Titan was never one who would taunt or call anyone anything without a really good reason to do so. In this case, she had a powerful reason to speak ill of her enemy due to him being a freak and his lustfulness over her, which was disgusting to see.

Making a mocking hurt expression on his face, Lustrous placed a hand on his chest where his heart seemingly was and said I a weeping voice, “Oh my goodness! That hurts! That seriously hurts! How could you when I’ve been trying so earnestly to get your love!”

“I already gave my heart to a man that is far greater than you could possibly be,” she said telepathically in a voice filled with pride.

Lustrous flinched, and his face contorted into a rage as he said with a menacing growl, “Oh…! You already have a lover…? Don’t worry, though because I’ll fix your brain once I get my hands on you!”

The moment he said that, dark aura surrounded him and energy like hands extended out from it and soared towards her. She raised her staff and fired magic balls of destruction at it, but the dark energy hand continued to fly towards her despite the destructive power of her attacks. Even so, she did not relent and aimed her staff at it, which created a large magic circle to form with a sunflower rising out of it with its aim at the monster.

“Sunflower!”

The flower gathered an enormous energy from the sunlight streaming from the sky and launched a devastating attack at the hand that drew closer to her. The wave was so powerful that it completely consumed the hands before flying into the sky, which parted the clouds before vanishing from sight.

She turned her attention back to her enemy, who wore a dumbfounded look on his face before telepathically saying, “You will never lay a hand on me because you are nowhere near enough to touch the level of power my lover has.”

For the first time in her life, she was proudly gloating about Lagron being an extremely powerful warrior and a man that her enemy could never be because she was tired. She was doing all of this in order to throw rocks into the blissful balloon like feeling that her enemy had conjured within his heart and became dead set on making her his.

His expression changed at those words, and he made a furious expression on his face when he said, “Dammit! Stop speaking about another man when I’m here for you!” He stomped the ground with such force that the ground suddenly shook, much to her surprise and in the next moment, he glared at her fiercely and said, “Guess it’s time to discipline you, woman, and teach you that you’re mine and mine only!”

Lustrous extended his hand out and clicked his finger only once, but it instantly created such a magic that the entire continent began to shake. Multiple magic circles appeared to surround Amaranda before the ground beneath her gave way out and fell away into a deep hole, causing her to momentarily fall. Quickly reacting, she waved her staff and instantly surrounded a ball of light that surrounded her It kept her afloat and manoeuvring it by using just her mind, she flew away from the hole and landed neatly a few meters away.

At that moment, more magic circles appeared around her before stone walls began to rise out of them to converge around her to form into a prison. She could not see what was happening due to being blind, but years of experience relying completely on the sense and feel of her surroundings made her immediately understand her situation. With a firm hand gripping her staff, she lightly tapped it on the ground.

In an instant, magic circles appeared around her before walls of stone rose out and clashed fiercely against the ones converging around her. As the walls were held back, Amaranda tapped her staff once more on the ground, which immediately caused a powerful force of wind to gather around her and soar in all directions, destroying both walls and buffeting her enemy in the process.

Seeing this infuriated Lustrous greatly, and he retaliated by clapping his hands together to activate a different kind of spell. This immediately made a large magic circle appear that began to glow brightly with each second passing by. Amaranda knitted her eyebrows in confusion because she could not properly sense the purpose of this magic spell, but it later hit her like an iron ball that it was an explosion magic.

Gritting her teeth in frustration, she quickly activated her magic to cast a barrier around her just as the magic circle let off a powerful bang and it was immediately followed by an enormous explosion. The force of it shook the continent greatly and even had the impact force of destroying a few mountains at the horizon around them. As the wild blowing wind and shock waves were sent everywhere, Amaranda flew high into the air with her barrier magic slightly failing to protect her due to not reacting in time.

“This is bad. I couldn’t react in time because I didn’t realise it’s purpose was to explode,” she thought, annoyed at herself for failing to analyse the spell, which further showed where her weakness lied.

At that moment, the Testament of Humiliation appeared before her and with a grinning face, summoned an energy blade and swung it down on her. Shocked at his sudden appearance in the mid-air, she summoned forth another barrier to surround her, but it barely managed to do the job properly because, upon him slamming it down on the barrier, it instantly shattered and instantly sent her flying towards the ground with incredible force.

With an explosion sound, her fall created a crater in which she lay moaning sounds and breathed heavily. She could not immediately move from the shock of falling from such a height without being able to do anything to break her fall. Just then, her enemy landed a few meters away and at the sight of his enemy lying while making pained sounds, his grin broadened.

“Nice to see you taking some rest!” he said before letting out cold mirthless laughter. “Now do you see? I’m stronger than you!”

It was not the truth as both had shown equally skilled magic performances, but the key different lay in their sight. Due to relying completely on sensing and feeling her surroundings, Amaranda was open to attacks that were not easy to read. He had realised this fact when after the numerous times she used magic to fight him back despite her being blind. Now, he stood there in full satisfaction after seeing her lying there with bruises and cuts that bled slowly while she was moaning in pain.

He walked towards her and as he gradually drew closer, he was filled with a sense of ecstasy at the thought of making direct contact with her. That was not going to be easy, even in that situation, because she still had her staff within her outstretched hand, and she gently moved it a little to activate a powerful spell to attack him.

A magic circle appeared above and beneath where he was and in the next moment, yellow lightning burst forth and began surging him with an incredible amount of lightning. He did not scream, but he gritted his teeth desperately as he struggled against the lighting that rattled his body before it vanished and let him fall heavily on the ground.

He panted desperately to regain his breathing rhythm and turned towards her with an evil expression on his face before saying, “Honestly…! You’re… too much…! Attacking… even when you’re down… you’re… remarkable…!”

Realising her attack had failed, she attempted to move her staff again to use an even more powerful spell that before. Unfortunately, the opportunity was snatched from her when he activated a magic spell that caused her staff to go out of her hand and fly into his outstretched hand. He examined it curiously and wore a sinister smile at what he found.

“It’s nicely made…” he muttered darkly.

At that moment, there was a flash of light before the staff got away from his hand and transformed into a man wearing butler uniform. He was glaring menacingly at Lustrous while getting in between him and where Amaranda lay.

“Get away from my master!” the Sacred Spirit shouted in an angry voice.

Lustrous was momentarily taken aback before he made a funny smile and asked, “You’re a Sacred Spirit? That’s great. You’ll be pleased to serve me once I make your master my mistress.”

“Like hell I will let you—!”

As he shouted, he launched himself forward and pulled his clenched hand back before punching his enemy on the side of his face. For a moment, the Sacred Spirit was pleased with himself before Lustrous began to let out a roaring mirthless laughter, which made him widen his eyes in shock.

“This is your strongest punch? Ha. That’s cute,” he said without caring that he was attacked.

The Sacred Spirit stepped back in shock, but he clenched his fists and moved forward once more to attack. This time, Lustrous did not give him the chance as he swung his own clenched fist across the Sacred Spirit’s face. His punch had been amplified by magic he had cast without chanting, which had become a devastating blow to the Sacred Spirit, who spun on the spot several times before falling limply to the ground.

“A Sacred Spirit, not wielded by their master, is a useless existence,” said the Testament of Humiliation before he walked towards his foe, who continued to lay with intense pain running throughout her body.

While she was extremely powerful with magic, her body was still that of a girl that could not become stronger than the maximum strength her body could allow. As such, she was rather weak to physical attacks and the result of such a battle showed itself with her being unable to quickly recover and without her staff around to heal her.

He reached her while she still moaned in pain and, with an evil grin on his face, he asked, “You said I couldn’t lay a finger on you, but how about now? Mmm? No dashing hero will come to your rescue this time, woman!”

Letting out another mirthless laughter, he leaned down to touch her body with his hand when, at that moment, his hand stopped just before it touched her. He was surprised and turned to look at his hand to find that another hand had grabbed his wrist, and he moved his gaze up the arm to look at who had stopped him. He was expecting it to be the Sacred Spirit from before, he was startled when he found the person he least expected.

“What were you planning on touching?” Lagron asked in a growling voice with his face wearing a deadly expression on his face.

Lustrous was startled by the sudden appearance of the Dragon Titan, and he immediately tried to break free but his enemy’s grip was unyielding and it had started to hurt. Lagron, who was flying in the direction of the war between the demons and the warriors of the continent, suddenly sensed that Amaranda was in imminent danger and so he diverted his flight in her direction. Upon arriving, however, he was shocked to find her lying weakly in a crater and became extremely infuriated to find her enemy going after her with a clear intention in mind.

“What. Were. You. Going. To. Touch?” Lagron asked, speaking each word with heavy emphasis as he continued to glare at him.

Grinding his teeth and struggling to break free from his enemy’s grip, Lustrous glared back at him and shouted, “Let go!”

Ignoring his words, Lagron continued to ask with even more emphasis than before.

“What. Were. You. Going. To. DO TO HER?!”

He began to surge with power and let out the last three words in a scream and he hurled his enemy away from where they stood. Lustrous flew through the air for several meters before landing on his feet, which got dragged before coming to a halt. Straightening up, he glared at his enemy when Lagron suddenly vanished and appeared standing in front of him with a murderous look that made Lustrous flinch in sudden fright.

“Dammit!” he shouted, ashamed at his sudden fright and threw a punch to hit his enemy in the face.

He amplified his punch with magic, which caused a shock wave to occur and made wind blow a little faster around them while he stared at his enemy with satisfaction. However, that soon changed when he saw that Lagron, whose face was pushed to the side a little due to the impact from the punch, was continuing to give him that chilling stare.

The Dragon Titan moved in an instant and grabbed his enemy’s hand before moving it away while taking one step forward.

"YOU DARE TO HURT HER?!”

He growled with murderous intent oozing out of him like an aura, which created an intense pressure in the air. At the same time, he pulled his fist back and delivered an extremely powerful punch to his enemy’s face. The impact was so strong that it momentarily made Lustrous’s mind go awry as well as breaking his nose and jaw in the process. He tilted his head back and swayed on the spot as his head felt very dizzy.

“HOW DARE YOU MAKE HER BLEED?!”

With another growl, Lagron pulled his fist back and delivered a gut retching blow, which promptly made Lustrous vomit blood out of his mouth. He continued to sway on the spot and almost lost his balance, but Lagron forcibly kept him on his feet as he was not done with him yet.

“HOW DARE YOU MAKE HER SUFFER?!”

With one final yell, Lagron delivered a powerful uppercut straight to his enemy’s jaw, which promptly broke the remainder of his jaw bone and lifted him into the air. In slow motion, he spit blood out of his mouth along with the broken teeth as he slowly rose into the air, but just as he was about to fly away, Lagron grabbed him by his feet and after momentarily holding him up in the air, he swirled around and slammed him so hard on the ground that the large area, around them, shook violently and large cracks appeared everywhere.

Lagron let go of his enemy, who lay in a deep crater shape that was formed from him crashing heavily down there. Lustrous remained there, semi-conscious as his body struggled to recover from the tremendous blows it had received. Seeing him in that state did not quell the deep burning anger within the Dragon Titan, who continuously looked back at his lover lying in her own crater and back at his enemy, who moaned softly in his crater.

Seeing her in that state made his seething fury explode, making him say repeatedly, “I’m not satisfied with this! I’m not satisfied with this one bit!”

Turning back, he crouched, and grabbing his enemy by the hair, Lagron pulled him up off his crater and held him afloat. At that moment, Lustrous attempted to attack Lagron with his fists, but the Dragon Titan reacted quickly and hurled him away, where he flew several meters before coming to a kneeling position. It took him a moment before he managed to rise to his feet and glare at the Dragon Titan with unfocused eyes.

“You’ll… pay for… this…!” he said, and his voice sounded horribly groggy from his broken jaw and mind seemingly struggling in to organise his thoughts properly.

“Not a chance!” Lagron shouted, his voice filled with murderous intent as he walked speedily towards him.

As he drew nearer, Lustrous managed to register him coming and threw his hand out to hit him, but Lagron grabbed it and held it firmly to a side. Without thinking, Lustrous threw out his other arm to hit him, but Lagron grabbed it with his other hand and held it at bay while giving his enemy a truly merciless stare.

“These were the hands you tried to touch her with, isn’t it? You thought you could lay a finger on her using these?!” the Dragon Titan roared with his glare intensifying. “Such things should be gone forever!”

He suddenly raised one leg and placed it across his enemy’s chest before he began to pull on both of the arms with incredible force. Lustrous began screaming as he felt his tendons tearing and snapping as, with one massive surge of power, Lagron severed both arms away from their places. Blood began gushing out profusely as the Testament of Humiliation let out a horrible gut wrenching, unarticulated scream.

Lagron stood there and glared menacingly at his enemy that screamed and screamed in pain from his limbs missing from their place. He, then looked down at the arms he had severed and decided to destroy them, which he carried out by gathering energy in his hands and firing them at the arms, vaporising them in the process.

“Armless and defenceless! I like it,” said Lagron, glaring menacingly at his enemy, but he was not finished with him he shouted, “but I’m not done with you! I’m not going to kill you, though; I’ll let the monsters take care of it for me!”

He quickly moved forward and grabbed Lustrous by his neck before hurling him towards the open waters of the ocean. The throw was powerful, making him fly at super speed and the pain of his lost arms made him unable to concentrate on using magic as he flew and crashed heavily into the sea.

After a moment’s pause, he rose to the surface and remained afloat with what little magic he could muster, which made him sigh a little in relief while making groaning sounds. Unfortunately, safety was not a luxury that Lustrous could enjoy because, at that moment, monsters began to swarm towards him, his blood becoming the magnet to attract them as it spread across the ocean.

“N-N-No…! S-S-S-Stop…!” he cried as because as he could through his broken jaws in a desperate voice, but the words were unable to be understood as he struggled to breathe, but there was no one there to hear his plea and no one came to his rescue as the monsters drew closer until they attacked him, cutting off his cries within an instant.

Lagron, sensing the life signal of his enemy gone, began to take deep breaths to calm his racing heart. He was still not satisfied, but the thought of the monsters killing an enemy that had hurt his future wife pleased him. So, with his heart calmed down somewhat, he went over and began to heal his wife using Healing Harmony.

“Oh…! So, you actually know healing magic…” said Amaranda telepathically as she gradually felt her energy returning to her and felt her wounds closing.

“Hey! At least, I’m helping you! Be grateful for that,” he said irritably in reply to his lover’s jab, but his expression was soft as he tried his best to tenderly heal her.

After some time, she was finally healed and with his help, she rose to her feet just as her Sacred Spirit, who had regained consciousness moments before, walked over to her. He apologised for not being helpful, but she said it was alright and thanked him for trying his best to defend her. Before he turned back into a staff, he and Lagron exchanged glances and merely nodded at each other with Lagron nodding in appreciation and the Sacred Spirit nodding back in recognition.

“Where’s my enemy? What happened to him?” Amaranda asked telepathically while turning her head around as she realised his signature could not be felt anymore.

“Oh. He’s probably being digested right about now,” replied Lagron without care.

At those words, Amaranda turned to face him and asked telepathically, “What did you do…?”

Lagron shrugged his shoulders while saying, “He hurt you, so I paid him back.”

Amaranda continued to face him and guessing accurately what had transpired during her fallen state, she eventually sighed before telepathically saying, “It’s a cruel way to kill someone.”

“No! He deserved what he got after daring to hurt you and lay his finger on you, the person I love! I, the Dragon Titan! How dare that bastard think he could get away with it?!” Lagron exclaimed, looking angry once more.

While she could not see his face, the Magic Titan could guess how he felt and smiled softly. Inwardly, she was happy to have met him.

“I’m glad you’re with me,” she thought, feeling braver with his presence giving her a sense of security. However, she suddenly exclaimed and said telepathically, “What’s that?!”

“Huh?!” Lagron exclaimed as he also sensed what she had sensed just now.

In response to their exclamations, a huge mass of light erupted from somewhere far away and it lit up the entire sky. It was massive and it was spectacular to look at, but they knew it was not just for show. Lagron widened his eyes in shock as he sensed the amount of power being unleashed from there, which was capable of destroying this entire world.

“What the hell is going on over there?!” he exclaimed with Amaranda making an anxious expression on her face as they focused on the brilliant light soaring into the sky.

Meanwhile, on a deserted island, a battle was being waged between a man and a woman using fire and wind attacks.

“Fireball!” Azar shouted, and he fired a powerful fire ball from out of his hand at his enemy, who was the Testament of Guilt, Neerum.

“Dammit!” she yelled, leaping out of the way and firing light arrows from thin air at him.

They flew very quickly towards him, but at the last second, he stepped to the side and they flew harmlessly past him before striking the ground with incredible force. In an instant, the ground erupted as an explosion occurred at the point of impact, causing the winds to blow wildly around and shock waves that buffeted them away. As soon as the wind settled down and the clouds of smoke cleared to reveal Azar standing firmly with a confident smile on his face.

“I am amazed you released such an attack, however, I expected more,” he said, and he pointed his finger at her before saying, “You said you’re the Testament of Guilt and while I don’t know what you should be guilty about, I am expecting a certain degree of show from an enemy, even if they are women!”

Towards his cocky words, steam seemed to explode from out of Neerum’s ears as she glared at him and shouted, “I’m not guilty about anything, and I’m certainly not guilty about being a woman!”

“Ah?” Azar blinked, surprised by the words he heard his enemy saying. Realising she had misunderstood him, he immediately replied, “Wait a second! You misunderstand me—!”

“I misunderstood nothing!” she yelled, cutting him off like a sharp knife while giving him an intense glare. “Now, feel the fire power of my attacks you damned fire spirit!”

As she finished speaking, she extended her hands towards him and began channelling an enormous amount of energy into something. That something took the form of a large swirling ball of wind that seemed to pulse with the intent of breaking loose. With great effort, she raised it with her hands high above and held it above her head with her eyes fixed with a glare at her target.

“Launch!” she shouted with killing intent.

The ball of wind burst and white arrows, with a trail of particles of light, flew in every direction. They all flew into the air and quickly turned around to fly towards their intended target, which was the Sun Titan. As they fell towards the ground, their speed increases immensely, causing Azar to fire up with excitement with a broad grin on his face.

“Here we go!” he shouted, and as he surged with power, he instantly got covered by burning flames that manifested out of thin air and did not harm to him.

He kicked off the ground to leap several meters back as the flying wind arrows were within meters reach. As soon as they reached his spot, they quickly turned to fly in his direction with not a single arrow touching the ground and exploding, which caused him to become impressed.

As soon they reached him, he began moving at an alarming pace that could not be traced using super sight because he was moving in between the arrows one by one with them going as close as touching his clothes. Despite his clothes taking slight beating due to them fluttering in the wind because of his incredible movement, he continued to dodge them, but he did not retaliate due to him having fun judging from the goofy grin on his face.

Neerum was alarmed by the sight of him dodging her attacks’ onslaught and rushed in herself to deal with him. Dispersing herself into the wind, she moved at an alarming speed and reached where he was like a hazy breeze before taking form. This startled him and before he could do anything, she raised her hand and slapped him across the face.

“Do not underestimate the power of a woman!” she yelled with a truly angry look on her face.

Clutching the side of his face, which stung painfully, he turned back to look at her while blinking in surprise before she moved. Bringing both of her arms forward, she slammed them into his guts and channelled her energy into them. In an instant, an enormous wind blast was unleashed, and Azar got himself blown off his feet with incredible force. Flying through the air for several meters with a painful sensation in his stomach, he managed to pull himself together and land firmly on his feet.

At the same time, the wind arrows flew after him and began bombard him once more with their lethal force. Each impact caused an explosion on his body that destroyed a portion of his clothes, cutting open multiple wounds and caused him an intense pain.

Amongst the pain and the injuries he was dealt, he registered only one fact and that fact was that he had offended his enemy, who clearly believed he was looking down on women. His rash way of speaking had caused a grave misunderstanding and the result was such, but he truly felt he deserved it for his mistake.

“Ah…! Lady…! There’s a clear misunderstanding…!” he tried calling out from all the explosion sounds occurring from him incurring her wrath.

“No! It’s obvious you are a man with no character, and I was a fool thinking you were somewhat a decent Elemental Spirit!” She retorted back with a sincere loathing look on her face. “Die, bastard! You don’t deserve being a spirit that carries the ethics of the Spirits! I’m going to get rid of you and then return to the Spirit Realm to demand answers from the Spirit King!”

“What?!” he exclaimed sharply, his eyes es widening in shock at her words.

With that, she began to call forth a more lethal force of wind that hurled him into the air and threw him into the distance. He crashed heavily on the ground that became a small crater, and he lay there while gasping for breath due to suddenly being taken by surprise.

As he sighed, he caught sight of more wind arrows appear right above where he lay, causing him to instantly raise his guard. Using only his body movement and fire elemental power, he blasted himself away from the spot and rolled on the ground several times before ending up in a kneeling position with his head down.

“Damn…! I am such an idiot…!” He said, reprimanding himself one last time before getting to his feet staring at the incoming wind arrows. Gritting his teeth, he said in a quiet voice, “Okay. You say firepower, but—!”

He clenched his fists and instantly surged with power, which reignited the fire that began to surround him. The ground shook with great intensity and the wind blew wildly around him as he glared at the numerous wind arrows that were charging straight at him. He raised his hand to the right and began to channel an enormous amount of energy into there for something, which took the form of a large fire ball. It swirled violently as he channelled more energy into it to make it stronger.

Within seconds, his attack was ready and with an intense look on his face, he yelled, “This is fire power!”

As he screamed with fury, he brought his hand forward and fired an extremely powerful wave of fire from the palm of his hand. It became massive and scorched the ground to a great deal as it swept forward, consuming the wind arrows in the process and soaring towards the spot the Testament of Guilt was standing at.

“N-No!” she exclaimed, her eyes looking terrified by the massive wave of fire that was quickly approaching her.

Only quick reflexes had saved her as she dived out of the way as the fire soared past her, scorching the ground with great intensity. The wave continued to fly into the distance and even went out of the island to disturb the calm waters of the ocean finally before disappearing.

Neerum watched the attack die and stared in front of her where a hot trail of dug up ground was left in its wake.

“N-No…! It-It can’t be…!” she muttered, unable to believe such a powerful attack was unleashed.

“Hey!” Azar called, flying towards her at super speed with a trail of fire left behind him.

“H-Huh?!” she exclaimed, turning around in her sitting position to face him as he flew down and landed firmly in front of her.

He stared down at her with an intense expression on his face, and she remained sitting on the ground with a fearful expression on her face. She realised he was incredibly stronger than her, much more then she had originally anticipated, so the thought of what he might do to her plagued her thoughts.

There was a glint in his eyes that made her flinch and as he opened his mouth to speak, she became frightened and covered her face with her arms while screaming in fright.

“No! Please don’t!”

“I’m sorry!”

“Eh?”

Contrary to her expectations, she heard words she clearly was not expecting, and she slowly withdrew her hands covering her to look at him in puzzlement. The Sun Titan was making a deep bow towards her in a stance that clearly declared how apologetic he was towards her, and his next dialogue make it perfectly clear.

“I am sorry! I am truly, from the bottom of my heart, sorry! There’s a clear misunderstanding here and it all happened because I got carried away! I don’t look down on woman at all! Not one bit! Doing so would be undermining the principles and ethics of the spirits, which is unthinkable! It’s downright insulting for a spirit to betray their own principles because of personal feelings and such! So, please find it in your heart to understand that I respect women greatly! I may be a lose mouthed person, but I am not someone who goes against the principles of the spirits!”

Neerum stared at him in disbelief and fleetingly thought, “Is he perhaps leading me into a false sense of acceptance and then spring a trap on me?” Then the rationality of the situation hit her, and she thought, “If he was leading me into a trap to kill me, he would’ve killed me a thousand times by now!”

She was still doubtful about his words due to his careless words from before and to confirm his declaration, she asked, “Tell me something.”

“Yes! Please ask away!”

“Why are women important?”

To such a question, he raised his head and straightened himself to give her a surprised look before replying with a smile forming on his face.

“Women are important because they are jewels of life. Without them, there is no life. Without them, there is no future. I mean, strictly speaking, a woman is not how we, spirits, are given birth to but the mortals need them for survival. That’s why, no matter what form a woman takes, she is always at the centre of the universe!”

Neerum blinked at him in surprise because she was surprised by how honest his words were and the look on his face showed his sincerity. A small smile hung at the corners of her face before she finally let out a deep sigh in relief before looking back up at him.

“I’m sorry, child, that I misunderstood you. Please forgive this old lady for jumping to conclusions.”

“Old… lady…?!” he exclaimed, looking disbelievingly at her face, which was young on an immediate glance.

Noticing his glance, she chuckled lightly and explained, “No. I am old because, while I do look young I was originally from the ancient times. Well, that was before being sealed away and then reawakened in this day and age.”

“Oh. That must be stressful,” he commented, but his eyes narrowed and he asked, “You’re a spirit, right? A Wind spirit because you clearly never used magic circles like many of the mortals use today. So, what happened? Why were you sealed away so long ago?”

To that, she looked sadly at the ground and began explaining her story from the time when she was once a wind spirit. In her early life, the life of an Elemental Spirit was strict, harsh and judgement compared to the discipline that the society of the Spirit Realm of today exabits. During that time, she was training to become a Spirit Knight, one of the elite ranks that an Elemental Spirit could become other than a Sacred Spirit or roaming forever as an Elemental Spirit that dwells in the Physical Plane.

“But I kept making mistake after mistake and my life was forever apologising, make more mistakes and apologise more,” she said with a gloomy expression on her face.

No matter how hard she tried, her efforts were overshadowed by the many mistakes she made either by jumbling with tasks, hurting people unintentionally and getting carried away with herself. This led to many of the other Elemental Spirits calling her a “Guilty Child” that was forever making mistakes and apologising for it. Even the Spirit King did not find her deserving of remaining in the Spirit Realm to become a Spirit Knight and as such, she was sent to the Physical Plane to life her life with the other Water Spirits Tribe.

“I despised his decision because I was thrown away from my ambition,” she said while clenching her fists tightly in anger. “I was talented, and I worked extra hard to deserve the reward, but I was thrown away because of my stupidity. I wanted a change, I wanted an opportunity to make things right and that’s when I met him.”

At the last word she uttered, Azar understood that she meant the Calamity Titan of the timing they met. She went on to explain how he was understanding and wanted to help her, but in return he wanted her to fight his enemies. He was a deviant and she knew this fact but she could not throw this chance away when he said he will definitely return her to the Spirit Realm and speak personally to the Spirit King to accept her back in.

“What?!” the Sun Titan exclaimed, not sure if her heard the last part correctly or not. “He said he’ll bring you back to the Spirit Realm?!” To his disbelieving question, she nodded and caused him to become even more puzzled than before.

Azar was puzzled because the person that she was talking about was the Calamity Titan, but he did not know what kind of authority that man has over the Spirit King to bring her back. This made him realise the person she was speaking about and the person he understood them to be are completely different.

“Who are you talking about?” he finally asked to try and dissolve this confusion.

She blinked up at him in surprise before responding as if it was obvious.

“I’m speaking about the God of Calamity.”

Azar blinked twice in surprise and exclaimed, “What?!”

He was thoroughly bewildered, but he did not have time to dwell on it because, at that moment, a brilliant burst of light erupted in the sky in the far distant place. Both of them turned in that direction and were thoroughly bewildered by the sudden light as well as the enormous power unleashed from it.

“My goodness!” Neerum exclaimed, staring at her eyes wide with disbelief.

“W-What power…?! What… What’s going on…?!” Azar exclaimed, unable to take his eyes off from the massive brilliant light soaring into the sky.
