The huge dragon fired a massive wave of destruction from straight out of its mouth at Lakshman. It rocketed towards him at an incredible speed as it carried with it an immense amount of power with the clear intention of destroying its victim.
Lakshman kicked off the ground and flew into the air to avoid the attack, which rocketed forward and smashed heavily at the spot he was standing at. In an instant, there was a violent explosion that resulted from it and sent wild winds everywhere as well as shockwaves, buffeting Lakshman as he hovered in the air.
He glanced down at the spot the explosion occurred at before turning to face the dragon, only to widen his eyes in alarm as a large tail came swinging at him. He swerved and avoided it at the last second and turned to see the dragon charge another attack in its mouth before opening it wide and launching it straight up at him.
“Wow!” He exclaimed in amazement as he dodged yet another massive wave of destruction from the dragon.
Dodging the attack, he quickly gathered energy in the both of his hands and flew towards him. As he neared him, he began to unleash a barrage of energy blasts and continued to fire while flying around the dragon. Each blast caused an explosion on the place that it hit its target, causing the dragon to roar from the pain it felt from their impact.
As he continued to bombard the dragon with rapid energy blasts, the dragon suddenly let out a huge roar and folded its wings to its body as if resting. Then its body began to glow as a massive amount of energy began to gather around its body. As it unfolded its wings again, Lakshman realised what he was doing as it looked familiar.
“Oh no! Dragon Explosion!” He shouted, turning to the others above and shouting, “Defend yourselves!”
“Huh?!”
“What?!”
Those were the expressions of the spectators at his warning cry, but there was no time as the dragon suddenly expanded its wings out sharply and let out a fearsome roar. In an instant, a massive dome like energy formed around the dragon and quickly expanded to all sides, destroying and turning rubble to dust in the process.
Lakshman quickly brought his hands forward and activated Elemental Coated Armor to shield himself as best as he possibly could. A moment later, both the Phoenix Blade and the Demon Slayer flew forward to hover in front him like a wall of swords while speaking to him in his mind.
“Leave it to us, Lucky!”
“We’ll protect you!”
After uttering their words to their husband, his two wives activated their sword magic and cast a double layered barrier around themselves and around the Phoenix Titan. No sooner had they succeeded in setting up the barrier did the quickly expanding dome shaped energy reach them. Both swords shook from the pressure of the attack while Lakshman gritted his teeth by the powerful attack before being enveloped by the destructive light.
“Oh no!”
“Lucky!”
His wives exclaimed with worry, which was the first time they showed any concern since the battle between the two ancient rivals began. However, there was not much time as each and every one of them began to cast the Emperor Barrier Spell, Reinforce, around themselves even with the barrier around the arena in place. Just like it did to the Phoenix Titan and his swords, the dome shaped energy soared up to them and seemed to struggle for a moment against the barrier around the arena, but it easily smashed through and completely enveloped them.
The dome shaped energy continued to expand to all sides until the whole battlefield was enveloped in its light. A few seconds later, particles of light began to expel from it before the dome shaped energy vanished and left nothing of it behind. The only thing it left behind was the serious destruction it had done to the battlefield.
Much of the arena’s side structure was destroyed or crumbling while only a portion of the spectators seating area remained. This was the area where those that came to watch the battle were at and as the smoke slowly cleared, there was movement from the rubble before Dominic came out first.
“Gah!” He said, massaging his arm before glancing around at the destruction.
A moment later, he was joined by the rest of them as they pushed the rocks away to stand up while massaging or touching themselves in places that hurt. Then they saw the destruction that the attack had done to the arena and could not believe it.
“What the hell was that?!” Nara exclaimed, looking shocked. “It nearly destroyed everything!”
“Dragon Explosion,” answered Amaranda telepathically, who walked over to the edge of the spectator balcony. “It’s an Emperor Ranked Energy Attack that is gathered around the caster by channelling both the Internal Energy and External Energy and releasing it into an expanding destruction field. It’s capable of destroying countries and even continents.”
“Sheesh!” Nara and Zen exclaimed, looking alarmed.
“Yeah. I heard about that spell, although I heard only the Dragon Titan was capable of using it and even that information isn’t really accurate since the people that told me about it were the ones who sold the Dragon Liquid in the capital,” said Wolfenstine, looking troubled.
“But…! Lucky could’ve just used Maga Distrab to destroy it though?” Nara asked accusingly. “Why didn’t he do it?”
“I don’t think he could’ve done it,” said Marilia in support of the boy she fondly cared about.
“Huh? Why not?” Nara demanded and waved a hand at the destruction. “Even the barrier around the arena couldn’t keep it from reaching us!”
“Settle down, Nara,” said Wolfenstine curtly much to the surprise of the War Titan. “You don’t know this, but it’s an attack that’s very hard to defend against as countering it is nigh impossible from the sheer power it possesses and cancelling it won’t work because of the wild power it will unleash, which would result in an explosion.”
“So… you’re saying that letting the attack run its course is the best option?!” Nara asked in disbelief.
“Because it’s an unpredictable spell that’s rarely been used for anyone to know anything about it,” explained Wolfenstine, to which Nara snorted.
“That’s no excuse!”
“Hey! At least, Lucky warned us about the attack!” Cantia snapped in support of her husband.
“Yes! If he hadn’t, we wouldn’t have been able to prepare to defend ourselves like this!” Sonia said sharply.
“We would’ve been in deep trouble if we had to cast our spells at the last second when the barrier broke!” Sumara added with a serious look on her face.

“Besides, I don’t see you using a barrier to defend yourself when you relied on us to defend you!” Ondine said, looking most annoyed.
“Ah,” said Nara, coming to his senses by her words and looked very troubled. “I… I’m sorry,” he finally apologised feebly.
“Apology accepted, but don’t lose your cool and start accusing without facts!” Ondine told him strongly, to which Nara nodded in silence while looking down in shame.
“Wow. Vadinas are so cool,” expressed Indira, looking at them in awe, which made Lakshman’s wives smile in embarrassment.
At that moment, they heard Emilia ask, “Where is Lucky?”
They turned and saw her looking over the edge of the spectator balcony to try and find where their husband must be in the arena.
“I can’t see him either,” added Valerian, who was also trying to look for his leader.
Following their lead, the others quickly reached the balcony edge and looked over to try and find the Phoenix Titan.
“I can see Lagron in his dragon form looking fine and all,” said Zen coldly.
“Lagron…!” Amaranda said softly telepathically with concern, and they glanced at her with sympathy before turning back to look down.
A few seconds later, they saw something move and the dragon heard it too as it turned towards the noise. A moment later, the rubble was pushed up and aside as Lakshman climbed out of the debris while holding both of his swords.
“Lucky!”
“He’s alright!”
Lakshman spun one arm around experimentally before doing the same to his other arm to stretch the muscles. Then he faced the dragon while holding his swords as he saw the dragon growling at him while glaring intensely.
“I can confirm this… you’re not Lagron! You’re just a wild dragon going on a rampage!”
As if sensing the insult, the dragon roared fiercely at him, but Lucky spit blood and glared back at it. Then he gripped his swords and told them to return to watching with the spectators.
“Are you sure?”
“Will you be okay?”
His two wives asked with concern as they could see numerous injuries that he had sustained from getting buried under a lot of rubble even though he was unharmed by the attack. However, he appeared unfazed by them as he stood his ground and looked to resume his battle with his ancient rival.
“I’ll be fine. Go back and stay with them. Another attack like that won’t be good for them since the spectator area is nearly destroyed,” he said, looking up and seeing what had happened above. “So, go. They need you more than I right now.”
“B-But…!” Silvera began apprehensively.
Sensing her worry, he smiled and placed her blade on his temple while saying, “Sil, trust me. I’ll be fine.”
Those words may appear simple, but they carry a lot of weight to someone like Silvera, who was always worried for the safety of her husband. As such, she conceded in her desire to stay and protect and together with the Phoenix Blade, they soared high into the air to join the others, returning to their human forms in the process.
They were instantly surrounded by his friends, who kept asking them how he was. To that, they simply smiled and repeated his own words to them. This made them smile and nod in acceptance.
“He’ll be fine. He’s Lucky after all,” said Emilia confidently with a sweet smile before turning back to watch the arena.
“Now then,” Lakshman said once his two wives left and turned to face the dragon. Then he suddenly became very angry and shouted, “You idiot!”
In an instant, he began to surge with incredible power as he began to output more power than before in his rage.
“Do you have any idea what you’ve done?!” He shouted at the dragon form of his rival. “You nearly killed our friends and family!”
The dragon, not understanding, roared at him loudly as if it did not care one bit about what he said. This made Lakshman even more angry as he decided on what to do next.
“I see. You don’t care, but I do!”
He continued to surge with more power for a few more seconds before he kicked off the ground and flew towards the dragon at high speed. The dragon reacted by gathering energy in its mouth before firing it directly in the flight path of its target. When the attack was imminent, Lucky swerved around and continued to fly towards the dragon staying close to the incoming wave.
Once he reached the dragon, it let out a roar, but the Phoenix Titan ignored it as he flew towards the dragon’s side and shouted, “What you did is unforgivable, so…!”
While shouting, he began to channel a tremendous amount of Energy Force into his fist as he pulled it back. Then charged straight at the dragon while bellowing, “hurry up and come to your senses!”
Just as he finished bellowing those words, he unleashed his fist and landed it on the side of the dragon’s face. There was a moment where time seemed to stand still before an immense force of power was unleashed from the impact. A powerful shock wave occurred as the dragon was pushed away to the side from the heavy impact and continued to soar away before smashing into the sidewall of the battlefield.
“Yes!” Cheered everyone from above.
“Beat some sense in that idiot dragon!” Nara exclaimed happily.
Lakshman remained hovering in mid-air as the dragon moved away from the place it crashed at and glared up at him. Then it expanded its wings and they began to glow as it began to unleash a heavy barrage of energy lasers that reached the Phoenix Titan in an instant after being launched. However, Lakshman quickly evaded each of them before surging with power and flying towards the dragon.
For some reason, the dragon seemed to be frightened by his approach and flapped its wings before attempting to leave the arena by flying out of there.
“Trying to leave, are you?!” Lakshman exclaimed as he saw the dragon try to take its leave before rocketing after it.
The dragon looked down and after seeing him chasing close behind, it panicked and began to use its wings to unleash a barrage of attacks down at him. However, it missed every single shot it fired as the Phoenix Titan was quick to evade every attack as he quickly caught up to the wild dragon that was trying to escape.
As it glanced down to see what was happening, Lakshman soared up to its face and shouted in a fierce voice.
“There is no escape for you!”
Then he delivered a powerful uppercut to the dragon’s jaw, a stunning blow to the huge creature. From there on, the Phoenix Titan began to unleash a rapid barrage of fists and kicks at the dragon, both to its body and its face. It appeared that the blows that he was unleashing were fuelled more by the anger that he felt towards his rival than anything else. Finally, he soared above the dragon’s head, gathered energy into his arm and unleashed the attack at him while shouting the magic technique out loud.
“Thunder Down!”
In an instant, violent lightning burst from above and soared down to hit the dragon on its head. There was a violent explosion on impact against the dragon’s head as it roared from the pain as the lightning attack zapped at its body with great intensity. As it subsided, the huge creature lost its power to fly and plummeted towards the arena floor and crashed with a heavy impact that shook the ground.
Lakshman remained hovering on the spot that he launched the attack at before flying down to land nearby to where the dragon crashed. There he stood, looking fiercely at the dragon form of his ancient rival while thinking what to do next.
“What am I supposed to do with him when he’s a primitive animal right now?!” He demanded in annoyance.
“Calm down, Lucky,” said Asura inside his mind as his voice seemed to find it funny that his current-self was so angry when he was usually the calm one between the two. “We’ve got to figure out how to get him back to his senses, not throw our temper around.”
“Easy for you to say!” Lakshman snapped, who was angrier than he liked to be. “That bastard nearly killed our family and friends! I’m going to give it to him hard once he regains his senses!” As Asura chuckled, he breathed a deep sigh to calm down and thought, “Would it work if I forced him to wake up by entering his mind?”
“That could work,” said Asura in agreement. “It has worked before when you entered into other people’s mind to free them from their problems such as that monster whose baby you first saved, then Felix, and then Emilia, and so on. Try doing it now. It should work.”
Nodding in acceptance to the idea, Lakshman soared into the air and flew over to land on top of the dragon. The huge creature was growling from the heavy beating it just took from him. In that state, it did not fight back and allowed Lakshman to place a hand on its head and chant the spell name out loud while activating it.
“Transcend Talk.”
In an instant, there was a bright light that enveloped them that made it so that everyone was unable to see what was happening.
