The fused warrior and the God of Calamity continued to do battle at an incredible speed that defied all logic. Each punch one delivered to the other released wild blowing winds that threatened to rip apart the structures on the surface while each stomp of their feet caused the entire planet to shake with increasing violence. Unknowingly, their battle was heating up to a level so great that the entire planet was under threat of being destroyed.
Lakshman, who was in control of the fused warrior, understood this while his enemy did not even care, but he knew now was not the time to be worrying about those things and holding back. If the heroes would not overpower this unimaginably powerful foe, then they and their world will surely be destroyed. As such, the fused warrior was outputting everything he’d got and managed to match the enemy blow for blow.
“I hope you don’t think you’re in some kind of advantage just because you’re able to match my drive,” said Climax, smirking at his enemy when they next separated.
The fused warrior sighed and replied, “I fight for the greater cause of protecting this world and its people, so there is no greater hope than those counting on me to fight for them to beat you!”
Climax chuckled upon hearing those words and asked, “Are you sure about that? I, for one, am not as confident about those people like you. They treat you specially only as long as the need for you remains. After that, they treat you as something else and soon shun you away from their midst. Finally, driven away to a corner with nothing to support you, you start wondering why the hell you bothered to fight for those people.”
After saying that, he burst into a cold laughter before he looked at his enemy with a cold smile on his face.
“Right. You make a valid point,” agreed the fused warrior much to Climax’s surprise. “I’m aware of the negatives, but so what? Who cares? Do I look like I care about that small stuff? For me, the greatest part is knowing that I’ve done my best for them, not about what they think of me. That has always been my drive, and it will always be my drive. So, anything they hope of me, it’ll add onto what I fight with, not something I borrow from them. After all, I am a believer of freedom and a fan of justice.”
As Climax stared at him with a look that stated that he did not expect to hear such a statement from his opponent. A moment later, he made an angry expression on his face as he continued to surge with more and more power.
“You dare to show such arrogance after all that you’ve done in the past!”
“It’s called having self-respect!”
The fused warrior formed his hands into a holding position while aiming them at his enemy. A second later, two weapons appeared out of nowhere with him holding them tightly with each hand as he took aim at the God of Calamity and fired off a round.
The fired bullets sped away at high speed and smashed into the barrier that Climax had activated instantly to block it. However, he did not expect that the bullets would erupt into a mighty explosion that would shatter his barrier and inflict damage onto him.
“What?!” He exclaimed in shock.
Without pause, the fused warrior fired several more rounds in quick succession, and all the bullets soared away towards the God of Calamity. Once again, his enemy immediately cast a barrier around himself with more strength and force that should be able to repel the explosive force from the earlier attack. However, he was taken by surprise once more when the numerous bullets exploded massively, the barrier was shattered, and he was attacked by them.
Like this, the fused warrior continued to fire bullet after bullet repeatedly without a second’s pause. At the same time, he started to walk forward, taking normal steps that he would normally take, as he drew closer and closer to his enemy.
“Such pride! You think I’m worried?!” Climax exclaimed, sweeping his arm aside and transforming it into a wave of destruction before sending it at his enemy.
The fused warrior immediately aimed his gun at the incoming wave of destruction and pulled the trigger. In an instant, the incoming wave was destroyed and it died down in a matter of seconds. Climax was momentarily surprised to see this before he saw the confident look on his enemy’s face.
“It’s called having confidence in one’s strength to be able to fight back against a being like you,” the fused warrior replied with great confidence.
With a great difference in ideologies and beliefs separating them, the mortal and the god stared at each other. And then, as they were about to make another move against one another, they suddenly sensed something strange occurring. It was the sense of a build-up of power from somewhere above them.
“What is that?” Engraut asked, voicing their doubts as they all tilted their heads to look up at the crystal-clear sky.
Inside of the fused warrior’s mind, the other heroes also sensed this strange occurrence of power being built up somewhere high up in the sky.
“Hey? What’s going on up there?” Martin asked worriedly.
“I don’t know, but it’s a massive build-up of power,” replied Gram coldly with a dark look on his face.
“It’s almost like something is gathering a tremendous amount of power high up there,” Natsu expressed with a concerned look on his face.
“Damn! Who the hell is it this time?” Vikram exclaimed angrily.
“How many enemies must we fight in a single day?” William asked irritably.
Fred shook her head from beside him and asked, “I don’t think it’s alive.”
“What?” William asked, looking at her in confusion.
“Yes. She’s right,” said Natsu in agreement, and everyone turned to look at him. “I’m not able to sense anything alive that’s gathering all that power. It’s almost like—!”
“A weapon!” Maxwell finished before Natsu can, his eyes widening in shock as they turned to look at him instead. “It’s a weapon of mass destruction! It has to be it!”
“A weapon?” William asked in confusion.
“Yes,” said Maxwell while turning to look at him. “A gathering of this much power high above means that it’s probably a weapon, a remote satellite firing device that’s currently floating around the planet in outer space.”
“Which means that the energy it’s gathering is probably from the solar radiance given off by the sun or something,” added Ward, nodding in agreement as he understood what it was. “Makes sense.”
“Wait,” said Vikram, holding his hand up and looking disbelievingly at him. “Is it like those mecha cartoon shows, where the enemy side of the humans possess a remote satellite in outer space that can fire laser beams down onto the planet surface to destroy an area on a large scale? Is that it?”
“I don’t know what cartoon show you’re referring to, but yes. That’s exactly it,” said Maxwell in agreement.
Vikram looked at him in shock before he groaned and lamented, “Damn. I never thought the cartoon show I watched back in 2008 would become a reality today!”
There was a moment of silence before they heard a telepathically voice of the first prince, Bolten, echo around them.
“Hero or heroes. Whoever you are,” began Bolten’s voice, which caused Vikram to let out a chuckle.
“Sorry,” apologised Vikram while the others listened to what the prince had to say.
“This is urgent. Right now, my father has taken control of the Legion of Heroes control tower and has ordered the firing of The Bomb!” Bolten’s voice echoed, which was filled with urgency.
“What?” Vikram asked, looking amazed by the title he just heard.
“That’s a strange name to give a weapon,” commented William in agreement.
“Shush,” said Fred as she tried hard to listen to the voice explaining the situation.
“It’s a laser cannon located in outer space as it circles around the planet. The impact of its attack is huge, and by that, I mean the entire capital and the surrounding area would get destroyed. The worst that could happen is that the very planet might become destabilised because of how powerful it is.”
“Wow…!” Vikram muttered, looking shocked. “That’s bad.”
“It’s super bad!” Maxwell said, looking very worried.
“So, I ask that you please find a way to escape from here,” said Bolten that caused everyone to exclaim, “Huh?!” Then Bolten continued on to say, “I do not know if you are capable of handling that power, but I do not want you to bear the responsibility of this destruction caused by my father’s madness. I am currently working hard to evacuate the people, but I am uncertain of the success rate of our survival. So, please, for the sake of our planet and our people, escape with your lives. That is all I ask off you for dragging you away from your home worlds to fight for our selfish reasons.”
With that, they heard a light “pop” sound before they realised that the telepathy connection between them and Bolten was disconnected. They remained silent for a few seconds before Martin turned to the others, looking as if he was troubled by what he just heard.
“I don’t think escaping is a good idea. What do you guys think?” He asked tentatively.
“Hell no!” Vikram replied fiercely. “I rather die than live as a coward that ran during the critical time.”

“I second that,” said William in agreement.
“Me too,” admitted Maxwell with a smile.
“Same here,” said Gram, causing Vikram to look at him in surprise. “What? I’m a warrior too, you know?”
Vikram was bemused by his statement, but he then smiled as the others around them began agreeing to the same. All of them had died in their previous lives and had come to accept this world as their new home. Thus, escaping to live another day while letting people that believed in them just to save themselves did not sit well with them. As such, they had come to a unanimous agreement of standing their ground and keep on fighting the enemy.
“In that case, let’s focus on stopping that beam from hitting us. At least, let’s make sure no damage occurs to this place,” said Natsu as he began laying out a plan for them.
“Right! Let’s do our job to the utmost!” Martin said firmly much to the surprise of everyone. When he noticed that, he shrugged his shoulders and smiled widely as he said, “If we’re going to die, let us die blazing with glory!”
When they heard that, all of them could only smile in agreement and were impressed by how quickly the tough situation had such an impact, on Martin the most compared to the rest of them.
“So, Lucky, let’s make sure that beam doesn’t get fired,” said Maxwell a little loudly so that their comrade could hear him.
Everyone was smiling and waited expectantly for a positive response, but they were shocked when they heard him reply with, “No.”
“Huh?!” Everyone exclaimed simultaneously.
“What do you mean ‘no’ huh?!” Vikram exclaimed in disbelief.
“Let the weapon fire at us. I want it to fire at us.”
There was a moment of pause while everyone digested what he said before Maxwell exclaimed, “Are you mad?! Can’t you sense how much power it’s gathering up there?! It’s enough to destroy us all from going just by that!”
To that, the fairy came to the hero’s rescue by saying, “Calm down, everyone.” When they turned to look at her in surprise, she smiled sweetly and said, “This is all part of Lucky’s plan.”
They appeared to be surprised and a little confused by her statement. When they asked her what the plan was, the fairy merely placed a forefinger on her mouth in a gesture of keeping her silence because of the importance of keeping it a secret.
On the outside, the fused warrior was staring up at the unseen weapon floating in the planet’s orbit as it was ready to fire. At that moment, he heard the God of Calamity begin laughing and turned to see him laugh like a mad man. Then he calmed down and turned towards the hero with a wicked smile on his face.
“So, this was your plan? So primitive, trying to buy time just to fire that thing down on me? Do you take me for a fool? I knew it was there from the beginning, and I wasn’t bothered by it the least. Also, are you forgetting that only Gods can kill Gods? Maybe you might have a chance of killing me since you’re very similar to achieving Godhood with your level of power, but that? That’s just a machine! That thing has no way of scratching me, let alone killing me.”
Once again, he burst into a cold mirthless laughter as he firmly believed that everything up until now was the hero’s attempt to buy time for that. However, the fused warrior remained calm and continued to smile with confidence as if he was assured of his victory.
Climax saw this, and he steadily stopped laughing as he turned to look at him. However, at that exact same moment, there was a sudden burst of energy from up in the sky as an enormous power was suddenly being released. The laser cannon, orbiting around the planet, began supplying its gathered energy into its firing device and fired a massive wave of destruction down onto the surface where the two warriors were at.
As the wave came down, the sky seemed to change its colour and everything appeared as though the world was being engulfed in flames. The pressure in the air thickened and the surroundings felt strange while the ground seemed to give way underneath them all as the wave came down.
Experiencing all this, Climax smirked as he raised his right arm into the air as if he was going to catch the wave. Sure enough, Lucky braced himself while Engraut and the Overlord moved away from there as the intense blowing wind sent them flying away while Erza, who was still encased inside the Elemental Coated Armour, was being pushed away by the same wild wind.
“Ha!” Climax shouted as he began to absorb the power soaring into his hand from the cannon high up in the sky. “This is… nothing!”
The power continued to soar down for several seconds, causing several shock waves to go in all directions. Everyone inside of the fused warrior’s mind were alarmed to see the God of Calamity holding his own with ease against the wave of destruction that they were sure their fused form would not be able to handle.
Finally, after several seconds, the wave slowly died down and disappeared, returning the view of the world back to the way it was before, except for the destructive impact the wave had on the planet’s surface around where they stood.
“Ha! This is some power alright,” commented Climax with a laugh. Then he looked at his enemy and asked, “So, I wonder what you would do if I sent this attack at you, here and now, but with triple the power. Can you say you can remain so confident about your chances of victory?”
To that, the fusion warrior did not immediately give a response as he waited a second or two before replying with a smirk on his face.
“Hard to say since you’re standing there like a dolt and waffling at me instead of putting your threat into action.”
This stunned his enemy while everyone inside of his mind began yelling at him in horror for provoking the God. However, Lakshman, in control of the fused warrior, smiled as he was prepared for what was to come. Sure enough, the God of Calamity flew into a rage at the arrogance he had displayed, which was something the God hated the most.
“So be it! Let it be known that you brought this onto yourself!” Climax shouted, his eyes flashing dangerously.
As such, his enemy aimed his hand at him and released a wave so powerful that it blackened the surroundings and caused all focus to be upon the incoming wave of destruction. At the same time, the fused warrior conjured two separate pieces of something that he quickly swung forward in front of him to join those pieces together to form it into a weapon in the shape of a long gun.
“I’m ready,” replied the fused warrior calmly, and his golden-red crowned shaped eyes flashed with power.
He began to surge as he channelled all the remainder of his power into it with the full intention of not holding back one bit. With the intention of going all out, he gripped the weapon’s handle with both hands and strengthened his strength in his legs to keep him steady as he pulled the triggers and fired a massive wave of destruction of his own.
The two waves soared towards one another and smashed at dead centre, creating an enormous wave of wind and shock waves to spread around in all directions. At the same time, the struggle between the two waves intensified as the God fired the tripled attack from the power he absorbed earlier while the fused warrior was putting all he had into his wave to overpower the other. As such, this resulted in a standoff between the two men with their respective waves butting heads against one another without giving a single centimetre of ground.
“Well, well, well! I did not expect you to still have this much power left in you!” Climax exclaimed, looking both surprised and impressed.
The fused warrior did not respond as he gritted his teeth and tightened his muscles as he was straining with all his might. In fact, the pressure of keeping up this massive output was so strong that he felt as though his body would simply break apart. However, no such thing happened, and he continued to fight with all his might to keep up this struggle of waves containing destructive power.
Far away from where the battle was occurring, everyone watched in fear and horror at the incredible display of power. Even the people of this world, who were unable to sense power levels, had a clear inclining of the fact that an enormous power filled with hatred was being fought back by a power filled with righteous intentions.
Bolten and Alestor, who were nearby and sensed this happening, glanced at each other before looking back in the direction the fighting was taking place at.
“Heroes,” muttered Bolten in a low voice with a concerned look on his face.
Erza, who was similarly observing the fight from a far away place that she came to stop at, had her hands together with a worried look on her face. She was very much still confused about all the stuff that Lakshman and his familiars, Phylex and Draga, had told her about being his wife, but there was one thing she believed in; it was the fact that he was the only one that had shown her true compassion by being supportive and making her feel like a bird that can fly freely.
“Please be okay, Lucky,” she muttered without thinking, which showed the deep concern and worry she had for him and in doing so, she had slowly begun to view him as a man that would suit her as a lover and a loving husband.
The fused warrior’s body began to shake slightly as the heavy burden of keeping up this magnitude of power was quickly destroying his form. However, he gritted his teeth firmly and forced himself to keep his form from breaking as he was the only one able to stop this wave from causing wide spread casualties and destruction on the planet. The pain he was feeling was getting stronger, but so was his determination to not give in. Inside his mind, he heard the encouragement from his comrades as they believed in his ability to fight through it all.
As such, he strengthened himself and muttered, “I… will… not… break…!”
True to his words, he remained unmoving while the two waves continued to lash out at one another before they slowly died down and then eventually disappeared. The fusion warrior’s body shook a little, but he maintained his strong persona to appear as if he was unaffected by the effort of fighting his enemy’s attack. However, his body disagreed as numerous cuts appeared out of nowhere and blood burst out of the split wounds.
“Ah…!” He muttered before he collapsed to his knees as his shaking legs could no longer support him any longer.
While attempting to rise back to his feet, he ended up causing his body to ache even more than before. As such, the intense pain caused him to remain in that kneeling position while trying hard not to let out a cry of pain. Just then, he heard the sound of a pair of hands being clapped together and turned to see his enemy clapping at him in a congratulatory gesture.
“That was a nice battle,” the God of Calamity complimented him while slowly stopping his clapping while smiling at him, “but I guess this is as far as you can go. A pity. Truly, a pity when this was the first time in a very long time that I experienced a battle like this. It is indeed a pity to have to kill a warrior of your calibre.”
The fusion warrior was not looking at him up until that point, where he finally looked and smiled pleasantly at him.
“It was enough to do this.”
With that, he instantly raised his hands up and clapped them in front of him while activating the last remaining power that he had saved up for just this moment. In an instant, an enormous power surged through the ground before a large magic circle appeared beneath them all. Climax was initially surprised by this move and thought he was going to attack him. However, he noticed something strange with the circle, and one proper glance at it made him recognise what it was about.
“No way! This is—!”
“—Divine Summoning!” The fusion warrior finished the sentence with a smile.
Hearing those words sparked something inside of the God of Calamity because he knew this kind of summoning, with so much magic power, was not meant to summon any regular God; this was a summoning of a God that might be able to rival him in power and strength.
He quickly aimed his hand down at the magic circle and said, “Cancel!”
As he said, the fusion warrior called out to him by saying, “It’s too late; the magic’s already been activated and the divine being in question is being summoned now.”
Realising that whoever was being summoned was extremely powerful, he looked towards his enemy and asked, “Who… are you summoning?”
There was a moment of pause before the fusion warrior replied, “The Goddess of War.”
“What?!” Climax exclaimed, looking thoroughly shocked. “Her?!”
As the fusion warrior nodded with a bright smile on his face, the magic circle beneath them gave off a tremendous amount of light that made everything become white. It lasted only momentarily because, a second later, the light died down and brought the view back to normal. The magic circle was gone and, in its place, stood a beautiful elegant lady dressed in an outfit that was out of this world.
“The Goddess of War, Kalkita,” muttered the fusion warrior as he stared at the back of the summoned Goddess, who had her eyes closed. Then he looked towards his enemy, who was looking shocked at her appearance, and smiled before saying, “How does it feel, God of Calamity, to be defeated by a human for the second time?”
There was no response from Climax, as he was too shocked to give a proper response. Just as the Goddess of War slowly opened her eyes, the fusion of the heroes came undone and all of them appeared sitting on the destroyed ground separate from one another. Sitting upright for a moment with the support of his hands against the ground, Lakshman looked up at the back of the elegantly dressed goddess with a compassionate expression on his face. At the same time, Asura came out of his shocked state inside his mind and seemed to look towards the woman with a similar expression of his current-self.
“Mother,” they whispered before Lakshman was overcome with tiredness, and he fell sideways before collapsing on the ground.
