ARC 17: Chapter 490 - Dine Out

ARC 17: Chapter 490 - Dine Out

The next morning, Lakshman woke up feeling sore all over due to the heavy strain put on his body by holding that small portal open for a while. He was unsure of how much pain Asura had been enduring to keep the portal open, but he found out the hard way when they switched and the entire pain washed over him like a tsunami without any kind of restraint. As such, he now understood that using magic to reach out towards something that is far away, especially to another world, requires much more than he could muster for that moment.

“At least, you managed to do whatever help it is you could in your Astral Form without disappearing,” said Asura inside his head while Lakshman did what he could to stretch and release the strain on his muscles.

“Yeah, but… this is another hell on its own,” commented Lakshman in exasperation, moaning softly at the pain.

In addition to the pain, he had completely slept through his daily routine of waking up early in the morning to the alarm and exercising. He felt like not training that day due to the immense pain as he knew it was temporary and will eventually lessen. So, he did any sensible thing and slept blissfully so that his body could relax completely.

With him being awake, he managed to motivate his body into getting off the bed and head over to the bathroom. Once he brushed his teeth and had a shower, he changed into his casual clothes that the Royal Guards had provided them all considering they do not own any clothes of their own in this world.

“Hey, Lucky!” Vikram greeted him energetically the moment he opened the door and went out of his room.

“Hey there, Lucky,” said Natsu with a smile on his face.

“Ah. Good morning, Vikram, and you too Natsu,” said Lakshman, locking his door with a voice command and turned to smile at them. “How was your sleep?”

“It was good,” replied Vikram as they began walking to join the others, “but you didn’t wake up early today.”

Lakshman chuckled and said, “Yeah. Ha-ha. Sorry about that, but I was pretty tired from yesterday’s training and slept through.”

“Really? But… you have so much power… how can one training session put you out of your routine?” Vikram asked, looking surprised.

“Well, I haven’t really been training since I came to this world, so I might be a little out of shape.”

As Natsu laughed at his words, Vikram stared at him in disbelief and asked, “Out of shape? You?” He looked Lakshman up and down before saying, “Seriously! Look at you! You’re strong, but slim at the same time! No one could suspect you hold the power to destroy the entire world!”

“Destroy the world? Ha. That’s a little stretch, Natsu,” replied Lakshman with a smile.

Vikram shook his head in disagreement and said, “No way! Anyone who felt your power on that day would agree with me. Right, Natsu?”

“I believe so,” agreed Natsu with a shrug of his shoulder. He turned towards Lakshman and asked, “If you’re missing training, why not wake up early in the morning like usual? I mean, it’s amazing enough that you slept through the early alarm but… don’t you think the best thing to do to get back into shape is by resuming the routine?”

“Yeah, ow, you’re right,” replied Lakshman, wincing slightly at the pain caused by his shoulders, slowly massaging them to try and ease the pain in there despite his hands feeling very heavy to move.

They continued walking until they joined up with the rest of their group, who had been waiting near the entrance for the royal siblings to arrive. Several seconds later, Bolten, Santa, and Erza arrived with Raze coming right behind them. Lakshman looked past Erza and looked at Raze while feeling sadness for her before remembering the words that Alestor imparted on him on what to do.

“Why don’t you focus on spending some quality time with her and cheer her up?” Was what Alestor had said last night.

“Easier said than done, Alestor,” thought Lakshman wryly. “I don’t even know my way around this world, let alone take her out on walks towards the stores in the city.”

“I’m sure you’ll find a way,” said Asura in encouragement. “You are Lucky after all!”

“Very funny, Asura,” repleid Asura, who laughed with hilarity.

“Sorry for the delay,” apologised Bolten with a smile, “but we were getting these ready for you.”

He gestured with his fingers, and a Royal Guard walked forward from behind with a tray in his hand. On it were nine identical looking cards with the only difference being the names imprinted on top of them.

“These are your Identification Cards, or Id Cards for short,” said Bolten as the nine of them picked the ones with their name on it. “Like promised, we’ve deposited all of your money into your cards. You can spend them on anything of you desire.”

“Oh…!” Vikram was the first to respond, looking excited as he turned his card around with great interest. “You mean, I can buy as many chocolates, biscuits, chips, and ice-creams as much as I like?”

“Oh…! Those do taste nice,” Fred said, looking as if she was thinking back to when she ate something like that.

“Yeah, but chocolates are the best though,” commented Maxwell, folding his arms and nodding in agreement.

“Chocolates? Ice-cream? What are those?” William asked, looking puzzled.

“They’re food and contain a lot of fat obviously,” replied Natsu, continuing to look towards Vikram in exasperation.

“They do taste good, but you’ll get fat if you eat those, Vikram,” commented Natsu from the side, looking at him in awe.

From the side, Gram snorted and said, “What’s so great about eating those?”

“Whhhaaaaaatttt?!?!?!” Vikram exclaimed, staring at the Tempest Hero in disbelief. “Those are the greatest food that humans had ever created! The sweet, sour, chilli, and cool sensation one feels when eating whichever he desires! You’d feel like you’re in heaven!”

“Says you,” replied Gram flatly, looking unimpressed.

“What?!” Vikram said, looking annoyed.

“Calm down, guys. Please?” Martin asked politely while looking nervous.

“Stop arguing,” said Ward telepathically to them in a flat voice.

“He’s the one that’s not appreciating the food!”

“What are you two talking about? I can’t follow this conversation anymore!” William exclaimed, looking annoyed.

Vikram looked at William with a raised eyebrow before turning to the first prince and asking him, “Bolten, is it possible to go out for lunch today if possible?”

Bolten chuckled while it was Santa who agreed by saying, “Of course, Vikram! It’s also been a while since I ate one of those as well. Let’s go out for lunch, brother,” he suggested to his brother in a hopeful voice.

His brother chuckled once more before saying, “Alright. Let’s go. Besides, it would be a good chance for the heroes to show their faces on the streets to give people some hope that we’re always around to help.”

“You’re awesome, Bolten!” Vikram said happily, looking mightily excited as he punched his fist into the air.

While they were smiling at each other, Natsu looked around at them and asked, “Isn’t anyone listening to me when I say they’re fat and not good for health?”

“Yeah, but who cares? Even doctors tell people not to eat them, but do people stop just because they said so?” Vikram asked, to which Natsu nodded in agreement as he made a valid point. “Besides, I want to really taste what flavours of food that I’ll find in stores in this world. I’m excited!”

Thus, they arranged for a time during lunch to go out and have their meals at a restaurant that the first prince had always visited with his family. Throughout the first half of the morning, they attended their usual classroom and were also joined by Mike Druken, who was the alien masquerading as one of the humans of their world. The only one who knew this truth in that room was Lakshman, but he was unable to reveal it due to sensing that the enemy was prepared to retaliate against him if that were to happen.

Lakshman was taken by surprise by how quickly the alien managed to form friends in the class and was even on good terms in speaking to everyone. He had imagined how difficulty it would be for an alien from a different culture to behave like the humans on this world, but it appeared to be not difficult for this alien to adjust to.

In between taking down notes about how the world was reformed, Lakshman threw suspicious glances towards Mike. The masquerading alien appeared to be taking down notes from the way he looked towards the instructor writing down on the board and then back down at his paper to write. Suddenly, as if sensing a pair of eyes focusing on him, he turned towards Lakshman precisely and showed a shrewd smile at him.

“Leave him be,” advised Asura inside of Lakshman’s mind, sensing his current-self becoming annoyed by his behaviour.

“I know, but… it’s annoying me to sit here and do nothing with the enemy being right there!” Lakshman replied furiously.

“Remember what Alestor said to you last night?” Asura asked, making Lakshman think back to Alestor’s words about dealing with the alien. “He said he would figure out what to do about him and told you to be patience in the long run. Instead, I think it’s more progressive if we work towards your relationship building with Erza.”

“You mean Raze,” thought Lakshman, correcting his past-self. “I know it’s Erza, but let’s treat her name as Raze so we don’t get confused.”

“Good idea,” agreed Asura immediately, “but what will you do? I’ve never had experience taking girls out or spending a lot of luxurious time around them in the past.”

“Yes, because you’re too busy dominating the world with your brutal persona,” replied Lakshman, chuckling to himself and making Asura sigh in resignation. "Anyway, from what I could tell when I took my wives to shopping a few times, they really like buying clothes and accessories.”

“Yes, but keep in mind that all women are not equal and some have different tastes to others,” advised Asura, which surprised Lakshman.

“You’re telling me?” His current-self asked, making Asura sigh again wearily.

“I’m just not trying to sound like a complete idiot that never took care of his wives,” replied Asura dryly.

“It doesn’t matter anymore. Your faults are my faults, and I’ll do what I can to correct them, starting with this. Afterwards, once I return home, I’ll go collect more money from one of the Labyrinths and buy whatever my family wants!”

“Sounds like a great family planning you’re doing, but don’t forget to save up on your assets for the next generation. We can’t forget that because it’s not right to use up all the money for our fun and leave them with nothing.”

“I agree,” thought Lakshman, nodding his head in agreement. “I’ll have to do some financial planning when I get back.”

“Yes, but that’s still far ahead. For now, let’s focus on how to cheer up Erza—”

“Raze!” Lakshman interjected in his mind.

“Whatever!” Asura said, ignoring the interjection and continuing to say, “cheer her up and make her forget about the sad part of her life.”

To this, Lakshman agreed wholeheartedly with a smile on his face before focusing his attention the lesson being taught to them. Finally, during lunchtime, the Nine Heroes of Legends walked towards the entrance of the academy where Bolten had said they should meet up. It took the three siblings a few minutes before they arrived there with Raze tailing behind them. Lakshman was happy to see that she was coming, but his happiness was instantly stifled when he saw Mike arriving behind them.

“I invited him,” announced Santa, indicating Mike, who nodded his head at them in greeting with a smile on his face.

“I’m sorry that we couldn’t speak during the class,” he said, shaking hands with each of them. “How are you all?”

As each of them responded in a friendly voice to him, Lakshman did not say anything. When Mike walked over and shook hands with him, he narrowed his eyes and whispered so that only Lakshman could hear him.

“Stop spying on me.”

Lakshman narrowed his own eyes in return and replied, “Then, stop hiding behind your mask like a coward.”

Mike leaned back and laughed heartily before saying, “It’s good to see you too, Lakshman!”

His eyes gleamed at him before he walked back to stand next to Santa, appearing to be a close friend of his. Lakshman watched him with a calm expression on his face while inwardly he felt satisfaction with the jap he had delivered to the alien.

“He took it well,” commented Asura, to which Lakshman nodded in agreement. “I guess he’s doing his best to not react and even ignore the shame of what he is doing for the greater good of his mission? Um… I suppose that’s something to praise about?”

“It’s funny hearing that from you,” replied Lakshman inside his mind, making Asura chuckle with laughter.

“Alright. Let’s head over to a family restaurant that we used to visit when we were still kids,” said Bolten brightly, leading the way towards the exit.

“Yeah! It’s been ages since we visited that place!” Santa exclaimed cheerfully, and he began to speak about how he used to visit the restaurant as a kid to Mike, who seemed to be very interested.

Once they got into the car and shut the door, the driver started the engine and it hovered off the ground by a few meters. Then, instead of flying up to join the throng of traffic in the sky, he drove the vehicle straight forward from that position. Apparently, the restaurant was close by because they travelled for merely few minutes before stopping in front of a large building.

The car lowered itself until it touched down before the engine went silent. A moment later, the car door opened before they all slowly filed out of the car and stood along the street while facing the restaurant with mixed expressions on their faces. Lakshman, Martin, Maxwell, William, Natsu, Vikram, and Fred were looking interested, Bolten, Santa, and Erza appear to be reminiscing their childhood while Gram, and Ward appeared to be the least interested in the place.

“This place is big!” Vikram noted, looking towards the left and seeing it stretch ahead.

“Yes, and well decorated,” added Natsu, noticing the elegance of the structure of the building as well as the furniture and chairs established inside the restaurant through the windows.

“Alright! Let’s go in!” Santa said brightly, leading the way and being the first to enter the restaurant.

When the door was pushed open, there was a light tinkle sound before a young girl, who appeared to be in her teens, appeared before them. She was wearing an output similar to a maid uniform that Lakshman remembers the maids in the castle wore on a daily basis. Here, it appeared that this was the uniform because he noticed there were a few more girls standing near what appeared to be the billing counter. Noticing that three of the guests were the royal siblings, the girls in maid outfits began to whisper and check their clothes and swish their hair experimentally, obviously flustered to look good in front of them.

“A maid,” commented William about the girl in a quiet voice.

“A waitress, dummy!” Vikram replied furiously.

“What’s the difference? They wear the same kind of clothes.”

“Maids are servants, but waitresses… are a treat,” said Vikram, looking dreamily at the girl.

William fully turned towards Vikram and said, “You’re weird.”

“Greeting, sirs and ladies. Welcome to Treatfull Resturant!” The girl greeted them with a refreshing smile on her face.

“Hi!” Santa said, smiling widely at her. “There are, um,” and hesitated as he did not realise he forgot how many of them there was.

“Fourteen people,” said Bolten supportively.

“Yes! There’s fourteen of us here,” said Santa, putting his smile back as he turned back to the girl.

She nodded politely and turned in a direction while indicating with her extended hand, “This way, please.”

As she did, a few of the waitresses moved from the counter and clicked several times on their Magic Enhanced Devices before casting their magic on the tables by saying the Levitation spell name out loud. In an instant, the tables began to float into air and move around as directed by the waitresses using their hands. For a few seconds, there was the sound of chairs lifting into the air and then being set down while a few tables were joined together to allow them to sit together.

Once they were done, they bowed while withdrawing from them to stand nearby. Smiling proudly, Santa lead the way towards the seating and sat down while Bolten, and Erza sat on his left. Mike sat on his right while the rest of the group slowly took their seating. Lakshman quickly moved forward and gestured for Raze to take her seat there while he too the seat next to her.

“Come sit here, Raze,” he called, patting the chair he had pulled back for her.

Raze was a little surprised though it could not be seen through the mask covering her face. Still, at his urging, she moved forward and took that seat while he sat down next to her, smiling triumphantly. Watching them, Santa wore a sour look on his face as he did not like what Lakshman did for Raze.

“Don’t go out of your way to help someone like her, Lakshman. It’s a waste of your time,” said Santa, looking coldly towards Raze.

Feeling her was being scolded for helping her, she started to rise by saying, “I think I’ll go sit elsewhere.”

“It’s fine!” Lakshman said, grabbing her by her hand and forcing her to sit back down. He grinned at her and said, “It’s fine!” Then he turned to Santa and said with a grin on his face, “This is my choice.”

Those words were enough to tell Santa that the Solaris Hero did not wish him to interfere between them. The second price became annoyed and was about to say something when the waitress came forward as a form of distraction while carrying a pair of menu booklets. She began handing them to each of them, and those with the booklet opened to scour the pages of the list of foods listed on with the inclusion of their cost.

As she finished handing over the menu booklets, the girl stepped back and asked Santa, “How may we serve you, sir?”

“Just a minute,” replied Santa, indicating the booklet he was reading with great interest.

“Um… I don’t know what to pick,” admitted William slowly, setting down his booklet and turning to them. “What about you guys?”

“I don’t know either,” muttered Natsu, looking confused as he looked at the booklet.

It appeared that most of them were confused to choose from the menu as none of them knew what the food they were given by their names. Even Vikram appeared to be feeling a little dull upon realising that he recognised none of the items listed in the booklet and eventually had to put the booklet down as well.

Bolten looked around at them in surprise and asked, “You want us to order for you?”

“That would be a good idea considering none of us known anything about these dishes,” replied Natsu gladly.

“No worries,” said Bolten with a smile. He turned to Santa on his left and asked, “Santa, what about you?”

Santa lowered the booklet and said, “Well, I’m also not sure what to eat actually.”

This made Bolten smile and say, “Alright. I guess I’ll make the order then.” He turned to look towards the girl, smiled and said, “Bring in every item that is popular with what everyone eats regularly here.”

“Bring popular dishes?” She asked to make sure she understood his order correctly. When he nodded, she smiled brightly and said, “As you wish, sir,” and bowed to him before taking her leave.

She quickly moved from their table towards the door that lead into the heart of their kitchen. While they waited, two other waitresses came forward and began setting down the plates, knives, and forks for their use when they finally get their meals. Upon request from Santa, they set a waste plate for them to place the unwanted parts they do not want to eat.

Several minutes later, she came out while using their magic to levitate a tray with many plates full of food placed on them. As she came forward, two more waitresses came behind her while also carrying a similar tray that had many plates carrying food on them. The three waitresses moved towards the carefully and gently began to lower the trays before the other waitress came forward to place the plates full of food on the table.

Once all were placed, the waitresses retreated to wait for further instructions while the first waitress and the second waitress began to place glasses on their table before filling them with water. Everyone was looking at the array of dishes placed on the table with amazement. Even Gram looked to be amused by the assortment of dishes that were waiting for them to have a taste of.

Santa rubbed his hands together excitedly and said, “Alright. Let’s dig in!”

With that, he pulled a dish close to him and began to place it on his plate with great skill before doing the same for Mike, whom he seems to care enough to do so. As Bolten and Erza did the same by pilling the nearest dish and taking a bit out of it to eat, everyone else glanced around before also doing the same.

After putting the food on his place, Lakshman was about to eat when he saw Raze glancing around at the dishes. For a moment, Lakshman thought it was to do with her mask being in the way of her eating the food properly and felt sympathy for her.

“Isn’t it a bit difficult to eat with your mask on?” He asked her curiously.

She shook her head and replied, “Not really. I can dislocate the lower part of my mask to allow me to eat.”

To demonstrate, she placed one hand on her lower part of the mask and pressed it in. With a small click, it loosened and she picked it up and placed it beside her on the table. She turned to smile and smiled, making him immediately remember the smile that Erza always showed him, a smile that was cute and beautiful to look at.

Going with the spur of the moment, he began asking her which dish she wanted to eat much to her surprise.

“Do you want this? No? How about this one? It looks good. Or the one I’m eating? It should taste good.”

She shook her head and hand at the same time to the multiple suggestions he made, glancing around at the dishes to choose the right one she wanted to try. A second later, she found a dish she wanted to try and pointed towards it while asking him for help with it.

“That one please.”

His eyes followed in the direction she pointed and spotted the dish she wanted. After checking that was the right dish she wanted, he activated his Levitation magic spell and brought it over before placing some of it into her plate. Once she held her hand up to stop him, he made the dish float away and land back in its spot before moving his attention onto another dish that she requested once again.

Like that, she received three different kinds of food on her plate and caused her to feel very happy. He could feel that she was happy about it by the atmosphere around her filled with joy and felt happy that she was happy.

“Um… Sorry for troubling you like this,” she said to him in a soft voice, making him smile in return.

“I’m glad to be of help,” he said happily before eating his own food.

“Good going,” commented Asura inside his mind. “I think you’re getting somewhere.”

Lakshman shrugged and thought, “I’m just doing what I can with what I have.”

“Yes, and it looks to be working,” said Asura, causing Lakshman to raise an eyebrow and glance sideways towards Raze.

She had been eating her food slowly while also occasional glancing sideways at him with a look that was hidden behind her mask. It appears as though she has taken an interest in him, but quickly looked away the moment he looked at her. A little surprised by the behaviour he did not expect from her, he smiled and resumed eating while everyone else made some kind of comment about their food.

“This is really, really good!” William exclaimed happily, marvelling the food he was eating.

“D-Dud food back in the… the middle ages ever taste good?” Vikram asked, speaking in between munching and swallowing his food.

“Of course, it did!” William said, looking indignantly at him. “There were a few times, but the one that I remember off the top of my head is during the time where we were sent on a siege to the north to recapture a border castle that was seized by enemies across the land.”

“And how does that make food tastier?” Vikram asked with a raised eyebrow.

William scowled at him while asking, “What? What does that mean?”

Vikram sighed and said, “Never mind. Just enjoy the food instead of boring me with ancient history.”

“You’re the one who asked me in the first place dammit!” William replied heatedly.

Beside him, Fred was eating his food in an elegant fashion before swallowing and saying with a smile, “It’s okay, William. I understand how you feel. Victory meals tend to be a lot tastier after a returning home victoriously.”

“Yeah! See? Fred understands my logic!” William said happily to Vikram, who rolled his eyes and continued eating. “Thank you, Fred. I’m glad you understand me,” William said, turning to face Fred.

Fred shrugged his shoulders and smiled at him before resuming to eat his food. As William watched him eat, he noticed something strange about he way Fred ate his food which was more like a girl’s than a boy’s way of eating style.

“Um… You’re, ha, eating like a girl, Fred,” he pointed out to him while laughing in mid-sentence.

Fred became instantly shocked by him pointing that out and almost dropped his spoon. Quickly grabbing it, he blew into it for some reason before eating it and setting it down gently on the table. Natsu noticed this and looked annoyed as he turned to scold William for his rudeness.

“It’s rude to comment about someone’s eating style, William!” He said sharply.

While William looked surprised and a little troubled when he realised what he did, Fred quickly said, “I-It’s okay, Natsu. I guess I was really eating like a girl, and all this time I never knew what my eating style was like. Maybe this is fate telling me to make a change before I draw too much attention to myself.”

“If you say so,” said Natsu politely, shooting William a hard look before resuming his eating.

As Fred sighed, William thanked him by saying, “Sorry if I spoke rudely, but I just wanted to point out since it looked strange.”

“Is it… really that strange?” Fred asked slowly, looking him in the eye.

For some reason, William felt a little flustered by the way she asked that question and from seeing her staring into him. He turned back to his food before saying, “Well… I think such an eating style suits a girl more than a boy. Pity you’re a boy since if you were a girl, it might’ve suited you.”

Fred stared at him in silence for a few seconds before he turned to him and asked, “What? Did I say something ruder again?”

The Bulwark Hero shook his head and said with a smile, “No. No. You didn’t say anything bad. In fact, what you said made me feel relieved,” before turning his attention back to eating his food.

William raised an eyebrow in bemusement before shrugging his shoulders indifferently and returning to eat his food. In the meantime, Vikram was eating his food with gusto before glancing sideways at Ward, who was eating silently with a deadpan expression on his face.

“Dude…! You look like you want to die!” He pointed out while trying to hold in his laughter.

“The food is good. It’s just hard to show my emotions, I guess,” replied Ward telepathically.

“You think?!” Vikram exclaimed, bursting into a laughter.

“Stop making so much noise, fool! I’m trying to eat here!” Gram said, looking rather annoyed.

Vikram calmed down from his laughter and said, “What’s your problem, man? What’s my laughter got to do with you eating in peace?”

Gram set his spoon down and looked at him straight in the eyes and said in a firm voice, “Didn’t your parents ever tell you it’s rude to make noise when you’re sitting in a large group of people trying to eat food peacefully?”

These words stung Vikram greatly because his parents died at a young age and continues to miss them even now. Due to growing up in an orphanage, he missed out the growth that would have come with his parents around and, as such, does not know where to draw the line. In addition to that, he was a teenager growing slowly with lower maturity levels than an adult, so he felt Vikram’s words were very rude and uncalled for.

“You’re being rude now, Gram,” said Natsu from across the table.

“I’m speaking the fact, or are you saying you’re enjoying him being a loud mouth?” Gram asked, narrowing his eyes sharply.

As Natsu sighed, Maxwell said in a serious voice, “No one has the right to judge others, Gram. We’re all made differently, and so we have different eating styles. Does that mean we won’t be together or work together?”

Against such an argument, Gram opened his mouth to speak when he realised the military person from the other world was right. As such, he snorted and resumed eating while ignoring all their stares. Maxwell continued looking at him a moment longer before resuming eating and Natsu did the same. Martin, who sat between Gram and Maxwell, was silently praying thanks to the gods for quickly ending any conflict that might occur.

Vikram, however, was looking sad at being suddenly reminded about the difficulty in his growth without his parents. Beside him, Ward looked at him for a moment in silence before beginning to pat him on the back gingerly, causing the Sonic Hero to turn and look at him in surprise. The Walmeky Hero indicated the food in front of Vikram and pushed him a little as if he wanted Vikram to resume eating. Vikram smiled and thanked him before resuming his food.

Lakshman, who had witnessed this going on, mentally sighed tiredly because he was reminded of the rivalry between himself and Lagron. Day by day, Gram was behaving exactly like a mirror image of Lagron, making Lakshman fear he might become an exact copy like him. He made a mental note to discipline the prince from another world in a way his parents would not approve.

“You’re taking him seriously,” commented Asura inside his mind.

“He’s taking it way out of line. I’m simply going to put him in his place,” replied Lakshman calmly in his mind.

It took them more than half-an-hour before every one of them finished eating their meals. Bolten, Santa, William, and Maxwell were patting their stomachs playfully as a gesture of eating to the brim. While the rest were feeling fully, Vikram was eager for more as he turned to the waitress and ordered for an ice-cream with a hopeful look on his face. They all stared at him in surprise as the waitress brought back a cup full of white filling that was called the ice-cream.

“Oh…! Finally, something I really love eating!” He said happily, feeling very relieved to see one of the things he loved eating to exist

“Teenagers. Got to hand it to them for being able to eat more than the grownups,” commented Maxwell with a sigh.

“Indeed,” agreed Martin with a smile, looking enviously at Vikram eating his ice-cream with relish.

As they all were watching him eat, one of the street windows got smashed when something flew right through it. As it fell on the floor of the restaurant, everyone of them glanced at it in surprise. The first to recognise it was Bolten, who shouted at them in an alarmed voice.

“A Flash Bang!”

As he shouted, the small object vibrated before exploding by creating a flash of light, causing everything to go white in an instant as a loud sound filled the restaurant and disoriented everyone. The explosion had caused the plates to fall down and smash into pieces while the food in the dishes got spilled onto their clothes.

Struggling against the noise affecting them, a few of them tried getting to their feet only to stumble and kneel down while holding their heads with their hands from the pain. While they were shocked by the surprise attack, two men entered the room wearing masks of animal faces in order to hide their identities while wearing a set of mufflers over their ears to not get affected by the sound like them.

“Hello, members of royalty,” said one of them in a calm cordial voice. “The Raven’s Guild wants a word with you.”
