CH. 48

???: Do you have a plan?

???: Do you think I would be here otherwise? I would have ran.

???: ...So?

???: Can you contact Rat?

???: Yeah. Should I also warn the others?

???: No. We only need Rat. He is still running that exploring school right?

???: He is.

???: Then here is what will happen. We will be sending his students as a welcoming committee and sweep what's left.

???: It will never work! They are students for a reason!

???: Which is where you enter by giving them the best of your technology.

???: Even if I did, it would never be enough.

???: Don't forget what we left there. Those students will be disposable. It is a game of endurance~

???: ...And what about you?

???: I will give ten divens to each of those who cross over.

???: Do you even have enough?

???: I do. I've been travelling quite a lot since then~

???: Alright. Supposing that we do this, how do we know that we have enough time.

???: Don't worry. They won't be able to go through the last seal any time soon~

As he said so, a golden key appeared in the hand of the white-robed man.

...

Shen returned quickly to the Mansion where he found the rest of the team. He decided not to waste any more time.

Shen: We're going.

Atem: You found it?

Shen: Yeah. It's in the dungeon.

Atem: The dungeon? That would be quite a dumb move. Are you sure?

Shen: It makes sense. Since it is the only place in the world that Lera can't sense.

Lera: He's right. They couldn't have hidden it anywhere else...Now I feel stupid for not thinking of this.

Tempest: Then let's go.

As they were all getting up, Adeline felt herself left out and asked:

Adeline: Hm, where are we going?

At that moment, the four turned around towards her. They had completely forgotten she was even here.

Shen: Have you finished the work, Atem?

Atem: ...Yes. It was just some Life Magic, nothing divine.

'Shen: I know...Since there were never any Gods'

Shen had only kept her so that Atem could grow and discover that divine magic was not a thing. Now that the goal was fulfilled, there were no longer any reasons to let her stay.As if she felt it, she got up and walked close to them:

Adeline: Alright! Let's go!

Atem and Shen looked at each other, ready to act, when Tempest spoke first.

Tempest: Great! The more the merrier! It had been a while since we went there! You will be greatly surprised Adeline!

Tempest seemed to want her to follow them... While to Shen and Atem, it was not worth it, it was not an inconvenient either. She was weak and useless but they weren't planning to destroy or conquer a world. That being said, it gave an idea to Atem. Since they were going to bring her, he could bring someone else...

Atem: Well said. I will go fetch Cynthia too then.

Shen: What? Wait-

Before Shen could even stop him, Atem had disappeared in a cloud of dark smoke. A shadow teleport spell.

Tempest: To think he would put a mark on her...He's crushing quite hard.

Shen: *sigh*

Lera approached Shen and grasped his left arm in her own. They did not waste any longer and began walking towards the dungeon entrance. Before they even get to the Mansion's door, Atem reappeared with a rather confused Cynthia. Since he had a mark on her, he obviously had one on the other.

Shen: Good to go?

Atem: Ready perfect~

Cynthia: What's going on?

Atem: We're taking you on an adventure~!

Cynthia: Eh?

Adeline approached the confused Cynthia and pat her on the back before walking ahead. This made her remember her own situation. She had been following this trio around without being aware of anything and only got surprises after surprises for her efforts. From now on, she probably won't be alone.

As they walked, Tempest was the next one to realise something. Shen had Lera and Atem had Cynthia...Was Adeline his? As he turned to look at her thoughtfully, she glared at him fiercely. Something inside him told him that she knew his thoughts. And she was against it. He decided to not pursue the thoughts...

...

They arrived into a giant plaza heavily guarded by many knights of decent power considering the world standards. Atem was the one to act. He used a simple territoy spell of the mind attribute: Unnoticed. It made it so that anyone in a certain area of effect would be unable to notice them. A spell that turned them invisible to the sight of others.

As they walked confidently, Cynthia asked Atem:

Cynthia: What kind of Magic is that? I've never seen such a thing!

Atem: Invisibility~ I will teach you later~

Cynthia: Please do!

She had stars in her eyes. To her, witnessing such a potent Magic from such close range was world-changing. This was what she pursued, a stronger Magic. How lucky she felt that the strongest magician she met was also handsome and interested in her!

Anyways, they were soon upon the entrance. On top of a grey platform with millions of weird runes and symbols painted in blue and white over each other. The dungeon entrance was in fact a teleport area.

Shen: Everyone ready?

Adeline: Shouldn't we have prepared some more? I-it's the dungeon after all!

Tempest: What are you on about? Dungeons are just training grounds...

Adeline: What?

Before more could be said, Shen bent down and activated the mechanism. They disappeared in a flurry of blue lights.

As the lights errupted from the plaza, all the guards were startled. The dungeon was opened by itself?! It never happened before! They had to warn their surperiors and fast. A calamity might be upon them! If a dungeon break were to occur, they might be doomed.

...

Adeline awoke in a long and dark corridor made of stones. She was alone. She couldn't see anything. And she was hearing strange wild noises from all around... She was scared.
