Shen: I am glad to find someone smart enough not to waste my time, keep this up. Now, the real question is, what do you know?
Counsellor ???: Not that much, to be honest. Still more than all of them. I have been counselling the Kings for quite some time and, modesty aside, have quite the reputation. The Royals that arpented these halls have always kept me in high-esteem which enabled me to learn of some, let's say, very private information.
Shen: Go on.
Counsellor ???: I heard about the door that's a window from his Father. He was unable to pass the story down to his son at the time as he was going to war...Unsure of coming back, he entrusted it to me. To pass it on to his son once he would be crowned.
Shen: It seems like you never did.
Counsellor ???: *sigh* His Majesty here hated his Father. If I were to mention all this to him...Let us say that my status would no longer be my primary concern.
Shen: So, you know a lot. Tell me.
Counsellor ???: I have lived long because I can recognize when my life is in danger. As such, I vow to tell you everything I know and answer any of your questions. May I be stricken down by the Gods otherwise.
Shen: There are no Gods. And you know it if you heard of the door. So, while this might have helped you rise in position and earn trust, I advise you not to mess with me. Death is unknown but less painful than a life where I am an ennemy.
Counsellor ???: ...Fair enough. So. The story I was told is depicted in a book...
Shen: Azerty's.
Counsellor ???: Yes. It turns out that this was the only real history. They made sure to hide and keep the record even as the Seven of light left this world. So that the ones at the top would never forget the sins they bear.
Shen: Massacre.
Counsellor ???: Indeed. Our ancestors have mercilessly killed millions and millions of innocents. Obviously, in the story, it is stated that they had no choice in the matters but we both know they did.
Shen: That's not what matters to me. The door. Where is it?
Counsellor ???: The Seven took it. They had to in order to go back to their own world after all.
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
Shen: But where was it left?
Counsellor ???: ... In a dungeon. At the very deepest level. We don't know which one though. And there are-
Shen: 156 dungeons. I know. Are you sure?
Counsellor ???: Yes. But there is more. They supposedly sealed them.
Shen: Hm? How so?
Counsellor ???: Seven keys of pristine gold needs to be inserted for the seal to drop, ones claimed to be created through the life of each of the Seven of light. They were each given to a man they trusted, for safekeeping.
Shen: Why would they tell the ancestor of this guy?
Counsellor ???: *sigh* Because he used to be one of those seven trusted men. Unfortunately, that key was stolen long ago.
Shen: ...So, they left the tale to the key holders. And the keyholders kept the book of what really happened so that their sons would guard the keys well.
Counsellor ???: No. They kept the book to prepare their sons to face the wrath of the three that were sealed. Because they knew that you would escape one day and it would not be the Seven of Light facing your anger.
Shen: So you do know who I am.
Counsellor ???: There shouldn't be many aware of the door.
Shen: Then, why are you telling me all of this?
Counsellor ???: In hope that you will solely direct your wrath towards the Seven and leave our world quietly. I am old but I have my sons to think about.
Shen: Smart. I have no plans to unleash any wrath anywhere but on them though. Now, however, what I want to know is where those keys are right now?
Counsellor ???: I don't know. No one in the kingdom does. It was stolen before I was even born... Unfortunately, I was not told of who the other past retainers were.
Shen: Alright. I thank you for your honesty.
Counsellor ???: How do you know I did not lie?
Shen: I have my methods. Do you have any last words?
Counsellor ???: Please don't lead our world on one more path of blood.
Shen: ...Granted.
After those words, Shen swiped his hand and the counsellor fell down. At first, Shen thought of killing him as he knew a lot more than he should about him. However, in truth, he did not need to. This man was already old and there really was nothing to fear in this world. Even Lera was so weak right now...
In any case, it would not be a danger to let him live. This man was an old fox who knew better than to lie and he did give interesting clues. To think it would be the dungeon... This sound far too easy. However if there really were seven lost keys to find... Maybe those keys were a bluff. Maybe the whole story was. Those seven fuckers could have simply lie to the poor locals in hope to delay him. To prepare.
It would not be that hard to find the truth.
...
In a suite located in a high-rise building that towered over the clouds hundreds of meters high, two men were sitting face to face. One of them was a dashing young man in a white robe sipping on wine while the other was a bulky GlowRider dressed in furs from who knew what animals. It was very strange to see the contrast considering that a GlowRider was a purely mechanical lifeform and yet this one was wearing furs.
Also, its mechanic eye globes were darting all over the place in panic. A clear difference to the calm exuded by the man in front of him.
???: How long do you think we have?
???: I have no idea.
???: What do you plan to do? What should we do?
???: How should I know~?
???: We're talking about those three! They will do to us worth than death!
???: Only if we are caught~
