“Just kidding,” he sighed, his expression lightening. “There are leftovers in the fridge. If I’m not around, you’ll have to heat them up yourself, Ms. Clarke.”

“Alright,” she replied, settling into the chair at the dining table. Her gaze drifted to Kellan. Despite the passion of the night before, she found herself enjoying this quiet, comfortable moment even more.

Then, the phone rang. Kellan glanced at the screen.

“It’s Ferdinand,” he said.

“Go ahead,” Allison nodded nonchalantly, turning back to her food.

Kellan answered, pressing the speaker button. “What’s up?”

“I sorted out some project materials. Are you free tonight? Maybe we could go over it,” Ferdinand suggested.

“Can’t tonight. I’ve got a date with her.”

“A date? With her?”

Kellan promptly ended the call, leaving Ferdinand’s questions unanswered.

Allison raised an eyebrow but returned to her phone when a notification pinged.

“This is for last night,” she remarked. “We were partners, after all.”

Kellan chuckled warmly, a bit amused. “Ms. Clarke, you’re quite generous. So you think I did alright then?”

Allison had a strikingly alluring appearance. She had captivating almond-shaped eyes that were bright and clear. When she smiled, there was always a subtle, almost irresistible flirtation in her gaze.

She leaned her chin on her hand, studying him. “Not bad,” she said, a teasing lilt in her voice. “But there’s room for improvement.”

Kellan reached for her hand, pressing a gentle kiss to her knuckles.

“I’ve told you — I’m all yours.”

He met her gaze, his voice soft. “So my money’s yours, too. And if you ever need anything, just ask. Especially since we’re officially a couple now.”

Allison smiled. “Alright.”

It was always nice to see a guy treat a girl and spend some cash on her.

Kellan’s expression shifted slightly, as if something else had crossed his mind. “Melany ended up in trouble at the casino last night. She owed quite a bit. Colton tried to help her and got detained in the process.” He searched Allison’s face for a reaction, but she simply shrugged, her expression calm as ever.
