"You... What are you talking about?" Nash asked, still taken aback.
Mosley repeated himself, "I asked, when are we leaving?"
"Leaving? But what about everything here..." Nash hesitated.
Mosley noted Nash's hesitation and knew exactly what he was thinking. If the situation was already beyond their control, their best strategy would be to withdraw as soon as possible.
Mosley had no reservations about asking when they would leave. It was not out of fear but because the entire country had become unsafe for them. Without any local support or backing, they were being led by the nose.
Moreover, Mosley had a practical view-even if something catastrophic happened in Gorgeous Country, it would not affect him much. He believed Nash likely thought the same way.
"Master Nash, this isn't Drakonia. All we can do is protect ourselves and leave as soon as possible. Forgive me for being blunt, but even if everyone in Gorgeous Country becomes experimental subjects and mutates, it doesn't concern me. "You may think however you want about me, but this time, I advise we leave while the situation is still manageable."
Mosley stood firmly in front of Nash, looking at him with determination. Nash could see in Mosley's eyes that his words were spoken out of concern for him.
After a moment, Nash said, "I'll talk to Theo when he wakes up."
...
After Nash left, Mosley returned to the Florentine family's villa and climbed to the fifth floor. The family had designated this floor as the group's accommodation.
The Florentine brothers had been very helpful, saving Nash and his group, treating Theo, and providing ongoing support. Mosley felt a bit guilty about leaving under these circumstances, but since he had decided, there was no point in regretting it. He would leave the rest to his master and focus on the plan.
Back in his room, Mosley lay on his
bed, reflecting on the past few days. His mission to protect Evelyn was still ongoing, and though Patrieia had also joined the protection team, Mosley was still worried.
Fortunately, he had not yet encountered the management team, and the Illuminion might be the reason for it.
When he first discovered the old
woman's presence, he hadnoveldrama
concealed her aura. He found that there were still remnants of souls inside her. If the management feam detected these souls, they would be able to track Evelyn down.
To prevent that, Mosley absorbed the souls into himself, thus taking Evelyn's identity in a way.
As Mosley lay there, his thoughts weighed heavy. "Evelyn, the management team, the Illuminion, Theo, the potions... If I'd known, I wouldn't have come here for refuge.
"There's so much pressure. I can hardly breathe..."
"Feeling that stressed, Mossy?" Patricia's voice suddenly echoed.
Mosley shot up, startled.
Patricia's weight on Mosley made it hard for him to breathe. "Hey! Get off me!" he exclaimed as he pushed her off.
Patricia pretended to be weak. "Ouch, ouch, ouch! Mossy, how can you treat me like this?"
"Hey, hey, don't make it sound like that! I didn't do anything!" Mosley hurriedly clarified.
"Really? You're always like this, you heartless man!" Patricia summoned her scythe and charged at Mosley, pushing him into the corner of the wall.
"You crazy woman!" Mosley roared as he was pinned against the wall. Despite his attempts to fight back, he found himself powerless.
He tried to throw a punch but stopped midway. He sighed, realizing that despite his reincarnation, certain emotions still lingered within him.
