Gaius felt a bit bad for saying that… someday the woman probably thought seriously about that while he was joking again. Regardless, it had been a while since he talked with a woman who wasn’t his mother, Relia and Angela, and that was why he was acting like usual. Two of them were motherly figures and Angela was a weird one even though she was a cosmic class beauty.
“Please, can you do a favor for this nice lady?” The woman insisted.
Gaius wondered if that was how some girls felt for the first time when they were approached by some guys for the first time when they were not interested in them. Putting all that aside, Gaius truly needed to sleep since the battle on the next day would last for a while and he would need to be at the tip top on his physical strength.
When Gaius showed a tired and impatient expression, the woman suddenly went silent and her smile froze. Gaius could tell that she had heard of him and despite having the body of a ten-year-old boy, he was dangerous to deal with. Maybe it was better to step out of the tent to avoid problems.
All of a sudden, when Gaius was about to raise his voice to tell her to get out, he heard her stomach growling… it felt like a bomb since things were pretty quiet around, and only the sound of some campfires burning. After a long sigh, Gaius took a silver coin from his pocket and gave it to her.
“Now, leave me alone,” Gaius said and then sighed. “Don’t bother me again.”
The life of a soldier was hard, the life of a recruit was even harder when it came to money. People like Gaius couldn’t go giving coins around out of pity. Still, money wasn't really an issue for him since had a very obedient army working for him. They also feared him beyond death, so it was easy to understand how come he could make money so easily. It wasn't much for now, but it was easy.
“Er… I can’t accept this,” The redhead said.
“... It doesn’t matter, throw away the coin if you want to, just leave me alone,” Gaius said and then pushed the woman slowly out of his tent and closed the entrance.
Gaius didn’t want to judge someone else’s decisions, but why would she have something like pride now after starting to sell her body? Regardless, he was thinking too much about it… he had to sleep and rest as much as possible.
Fortunately, the woman didn’t bother Gaius any longer. He did his part outside of the battlefield to help the city return to normal, so he managed to fall asleep.
Although only for four hours, Gaius woke up feeling pretty good and full of energy once he got up. It was time to cause so much mayhem that the enemies would regret making him cross hundreds of kilometers to join that… even though they never imagined that a simple recruit would be such a menace.
"We will attack the northern side this time," Kennil declared once Gaius showed up. "Our horses are the most rested ones, and we will use them to chase the enemies and confirm what happened to their siege weapons. Things will get dangerous when the poisonous archers show up, so I will be counting on you to decrease their numbers before they cause too many problems."
Now that was a problem… Gaius didn't confirm that yet, so he didn't know if he would have the range to attack those guys. But after thinking for a while, he realized that the wind would be against the enemies so their range would decrease.

"Not like my arrows will be able to make good use of the wind…" Gaius thought. "Regardless, if I wipe the archers out, my promotion will all be assured…"
Gaius made up his mind while the cavalry was heading to the northern side. He could see the infantrymen following them from behind, but they would only work to protect the walls and their retreat once that started since they couldn't keep up with the horses.
On that side of the wall, the people that came from Ekirenton state could be seen and while they didn't suffer that many losses until now, it felt like they didn't have many people to begin with. Maybe it was because the streets on that side were larger than the others since they were close to the gates, but he didn't have the same feeling at the southern gate.
"Our goal is to reach the final line of the enemies and destroy their siege weapons or confirm their destruction," Kennil declared. " All of the cavalry will follow me. The infantry will stay behind and protect the walls since we will keep the gates open to bait the enemies. This battle will determine the fate of this war, so you do your very best to survive and fight for the honor of our land!"
As if they were programmed to answer like that whenever Kennil finished his sentences with exclamations, the soldiers around roared with all their might. They would need that much fighting spirit to survive that day, so perhaps couldn't be helped.
The gates opened and all the soldiers that weren't the archers guarding the walls began to leave the city. The sun was still rising when the cavalry began to cross the gate… Kennil didn't wait for anyone to assume a formation… he just led everyone to the bloodshed.
Gaius had seen during the day before that there were some dense groves on the north of the wall, that was why no one could see where the siege weapons went. In front of those groves and around two kilometers away from the walls, Gaius and the cavalry saw the enemies camping… since they were so far away, it took them a full minute for them to realize that an attack was happening at dawn… still, it looked like they had some countermeasures for that…
Once they were one kilometer away, Gaius suddenly heard some horses screaming in shock and fear and when he looked to the side, he saw them falling into holes… Kennil clicked his tongue and everyone heard that. To think that the enemies managed to make those at night and hide them so well…
"Their engineers are something else… I really want them working for me," Gaius thought. “For trying to screw with me, they will have to join my internship that never ends.”
“Keep your eyes open and inform others if you notice any holes!” Kennil shouted.
No one had time to cheer in excitement again. Still, they clenched their teeth while hoping that they wouldn’t fall for any holes… Gaius didn’t have to worry about that since Kennil was leading the charge in front of him, but it would be dangerous if Kennil were to fall in any hole.
Still, much to Gaius’ surprise, Kennil changed directions a few times and then stabbed the ground with his spear revealing some holes… he either had some good eyes or instincts. In the end, Gaius approached him and opened his eyes widely. Thanks to his perception, he also saw some parts of the ground ahead that looked weird and then he summoned and fired some magic arrows at it, revealing the holes.
Although Gaius couldn’t see all the traps in the area, the cavalry was following them close from behind while forming a single line in the shape of a spear, thanks to it, they managed to avoid losing any more men and horses. Ten seconds later, they reached the enemies camp and saw them dashing toward the groves… it was clear that more traps were waiting for them, but Kennil still was willing to take his chances and dashed ahead.
Gaius kept three magic arrows in his right hand while looking around. It didn’t take long for him to see some bushes moving. Gaius didn’t hesitate in firing and attacking whatever was there. As expected, enemies were there, but he couldn't help but furrow his eyebrows at the names that he saw.
The human Carl was added to your summoning list.
The human Isaac was added to your summoning list.
The human Felix was added to your summoning list.
“... All of a sudden, their names are English …” Gaius furrowed his eyebrows.
