"Even if survives here, he is bound to get hurt… the enemies won't let things repeat themselves like this again, so we have to cause as much damage as possible," Gaius thought and then sighed. "It can't be helped… I guess."
When Gaius fired his last arrow, he threw away his quiver and then summoned a magic arrow while he was already pulling the string of the bow… only now he realized that his firing speed could improve a lot more as well by using magic arrows… Nevertheless, such thoughts were useless now. When the next group of enemies began to surround Kennil, Gaius fired the first magic arrow… he had aimed at the neck of the next target again, but he flinched a little when the impact pierced the enemy's neck and also beheaded him.
"Crap… this will give me the type of fame that I don't want," Gaius thought.
There was no going back now, though. Gaius killed another enemy… this time, he went for the hole in the helmet of the enemy that granted him some vision, but the projectile pierced the enemy's head and also melted some of the helmet. His high magic power certainly would make him become infamous in that war.
"... I guess my magic is too high if compared to their magic resistance," Gaius thought.
Kennil saw both of those attacks, but he still finished the enemies on the other side before looking at Gaius in bewilderment… Gaius wanted to look away and then play dumb, but he didn't have time for that… More enemies were approaching and he also could see another large group of enemies coming from their camps… they already prepared their true force that would get rid of the cavalry. At least that was their plan, they didn't know what Gaius could do yet, or who he was for that matter.
With his current Wisdom, Gaius could summon twenty of those arrows per second, but instead of doing so indiscriminately, he decided to do so only when Kennil was getting surrounded… that was another thing that he thought that it would help him in the future… not let the enemies know about his true strength and abilities were one of the basics of the war.
Still, despite that… it didn't take long for a lot of the enemies infantrymen to lay their eyes on him. There was a mix of confusion, rage, and fear in their eyes. It was confusing to see a kid of that age being such an important factor in the battlefield, after all.
When Gaius felt the eyes of many enemies on him, he felt the hair on his back standing as well… that was real bloodlust feels like close. Dozens of enemies wanted him dead because Gaius was a threat to them and because he killed their friends as well.
“Emotional Damage!” Gaius thought. “Don’t blame me for this… you guys started this war and your actions brought us here.”
Despite their bloodlust, they didn’t have the courage to approach Gaius… his accuracy with the bow was deadly and so was his speed. In the first place, approaching a rider and his horse like that was that dangerous without magic and all that.
Some of the infantrymen still tried to charge at Gaius with their shields raised, unfortunately for them, Gaius was confident that his magic arrows would melt those shields with two arrows. Still, before he could target the enemies, Kennil put himself between the enemies and Gaius.
“Reform our lines and clench your teeth!” Kennil shouted. “More enemies are coming, but our allies are already here! Kill them all!”
Gaius looked over his shoulder and saw the infantry on their side approaching and forming their lines on the sides… not even five minutes had passed since the start of the battle, so he could tell that they were well-trained to respond that fast.

“I need to check the range of these magic arrows in case the other archers come to this battlefield,” Gaius thought. “The other sides must have left to attack the enemies as well, but we can never know how things will work out…”
After his shout, Kennil’s closest allies stepped in with all their might and formed a line to help him. In the meantime, Gaius looked ahead and saw a bunch of heavily armored soldiers riding equally armored horses… now Gaius could see why the enemies only were using infantrymen until now… they had a secret force ready to deploy and they decided to use it before the infantry were wiped out.
“Halberd!” Kennil shouted.
Once again, Gaius confirmed that he wasn’t fit to be part of the army… he heard a shout that made him feel like he had become someone else’s servant. It would be weird though if Kennil had asked nicely while he was covered in blood and sweat.
After picking the halberd, Gaius saw the spear being tossed at him, so he did the same with the halberd. The weapon was quite heavy, but he didn’t have a hard time making it reach Kennil.
“I guess the halberd will be a better option agaisnt those shields,” Gaius thought.

“Wow… an army of level one hundred soldiers, they are at the level of Kennil,” Gaius frowned.
Those guys were specialized in working in groups since a turtle probably could outspeed them and they weren't that skilled either… Still, they were a force to be recognized. A single mistake and each one of them would be able to kill Gaius in a single strike... he didn't even have armor or could heal himself, after all.
The enemy infantrymen began to move to the sides to give room to that heavy cavalry, and while the first line had only one hundred of those, Gaius could see two others more behind them… he couldn't even see a single spot that he could aim to attack aside from their eyes that they only used to confirm where the enemies were now and then.
"We aren't falling back! We are going to kill them right here and right now!" Kennil raised his voice again.
The soldiers behind began to shout in excitement and response… that kind of adrenaline probably would help them while fighting, but Gaius would rather keep his cool to avoid mistakes. So, he didn't feel anything again.
The enemy's heavy cavalry increased their speed and the soldiers around Kennil clenched their teeth and braced themselves… When the two lines collided, it felt like a meteor had landed on the area since a bunch of soldiers flew around a couple of meters behind.
Kennil swung down his halberd and then one of the enemies blocked the attack with his massive and thick iron shield, but the enemy and his horse were pulled away for a couple of meters… only a few of the people on his side managed to do the same, most of them were blown away.
Despite that, Gaius used that chance to attack… their guards opened up when they were pushed away, and Gaius fired three quick arrows at the faces of three enemies. For each kill, Gaius got five percent of experience… and he frowned since only the Treants gave him that much and they were in theory, stronger than those guys.
The Human Heirem was added to the summoning list.

"Oh, hey… hello again," Gaius thought when he checked the parameters of the first guy he killed.
It looked like thanks to the training, the enemies obtained the skill Brute Strength… which explained the extra fifty points in strength… that kind of skill certainly will come in handy for Gaius. Still, he had other things to worry about.
The bloodlust of the heavy cavalry couldn't be compared to the infantrymen… it felt like Gaius was being stared by giants. They didn't expect that they would lose allies so soon, but they didn't let that faze them, instead, they decided to get rid of the one who killed them.
"I am getting popular with the wrong group of people…" Gaius thought. "Well, no point in worrying about it... I just need to prepare for the future and avoid the battles that the other morons will make it happen."
