Once again, Gaius looked for the tent of the commander of the operation, but he didn't find any tent that stood out from the others. That was weird; a bigger one needed for the meetings between the captains was always necessary.
"Is that a trick to prevent people from targeting their leader?" Gaius furrowed his eyebrows. "According to those guys that I can summon, they didn't hear the name or about the appearance of their commander. There must be a reason for that... something related to their skills, maybe?"
That was annoying, but Gaius quickly recovered from that and began to focus on what he could do to improve the situation. While killing the commander of the enemy's camp was the common way to achieve victory in a war, Gaius could also start slowly and destroy the tools that the enemies had at their disposal, which could be a problem in the long run.
When it comes to war, there was one thing that was deadly for infantry: It was the cavalry. With horses, one side could pass through the enemy's lines like a hot knife through butter. The villagers didn't have battle horses. In fact, they only had a few horses, so they didn't have cavalry at all. With that in mind, Gaius had to get rid of the two hundred horses that the enemy had.
"Fortunately, their stables are close to each other and in the center of their formation so that I can attack them nonstop," Gaius rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "The problem is that I will reveal my position by attacking so many times."
Once he starts, Gaius will have to kill all the horses because in the next attempt, he will attack, and the speed of the hawk will decrease with each passing wound.
"I have a solution for that, and I can do it with my skills, but it will be risky," Gaius thought and then noticed that he was heavy enough now to make the hawk lose stamina faster than he could recover while flying. "No pain, no gain, I guess…"
Gaius had prepared to fight for quite a while. So, he had a few things with him: a cloak to protect him against the cold and some knives in case he was forced to fight for his life. He equipped the cloak in order to make sure that it would hide his appearance, and that was more important than not getting hurt.
Once his preparations were finished, Gaius made the hawk fly as fast as possible and downward in order to gain speed. They flew from north to south since the enemies weren't expecting an attack coming from behind.
The enemies never heard Gaius and the hawk's approach. Only a few of them noticed a shadow flying near the stables, and then, when they turned to check it, they saw the animals on the ground and dead with some serious wounds on their necks.
Even with his magic power, Gaius didn't have enough mana to kill so many horses, so he used his current position while flying to fire spinning magic arrows that would pierce the necks of several horses at the same time.
“Urgh… I really hate this,” Gaius thought while looking at the dead horses.
When the enemies noticed what was going on, half of their horses had already been killed. The enemies who saw the hawk tried to warn the others, but more than fifty of them were killed before they could do anything.
After killing twenty more of them, he saw some guards moving to block his path, but then he made the hawk fly high. Several of the enemies pointed their weapons and prepared to throw them. Some even used bows, but Gaius killed the archers and forced the enemies to block the magic arrows.

"Oh, it looks like the archer was quite high spec. I can use this… probably," Gaius thought. "I need to find a way to level up this guy quickly."
Gaius only killed a single guy, but it seemed that he had been lucky with his target. On the other hand, the other enemies were good enough to block his attacks, even if he held back to focus on quantity.
In any case, while moving away from the area, Gaius kept his eyes on the enemy camp, and the result of his attack left them speechless. He managed to change the outcome of the battle, even if only a bit. Now he had to focus on making sure that it wouldn't happen at all.
"Do any of you have a bow?" Gaius asked his soldiers.
Fortunately, Gaius obtained a positive answer. The scout that one of them had killed had a bow, so his new soldier could use that, but again, he needed to level up a bit.
"That will happen once they start to fight; a few kills will do the trick, thanks to the difference in level," Gaius thought. "The real question is how I can use all my summoned creatures well in this situation?"
The enemies will change their strategy a bit, and they will have to organize their forces for that. Maybe Gaius had gained half a day. Waiting for the night was an option, but the enemies would be waiting for an attack.
In the end, Gaius decided to harass them throughout the day in a manner that they wouldn't be able to relax even for a moment. However, before that, he went to where the other minions were and summoned their new friend right in front of them, butt naked.
"Share some of your clothes with him and wait for future orders," Gaius said.
No one saw Gaius' appearance, but they could tell that he was short and had the voice of a kid. They couldn't believe that was the case, though. It was impossible for them to accept that a kid had killed so many of them and was forcing them to obey his orders.
Despite that, they didn't even think of attacking him.
Although he didn't get that close, Gaius noticed that some people noticed his approach. The direction he was heading in the camp got tense, after all.
"Hahaha, as if you shitheads can do anything against me," Gaius laughed maniacally.
Before thinking of attacking, Gaius took a look around and confirmed that there were no scouts hidden nearby. He had confidence in his eye perception during the day, after all.
After finding the perfect route that his soldiers could use and telling them to approach, Gaius began to fly around the camp. Many archers tried to attack him, and while his arrows could impressively reach one hundred meters in height, he could fly above that.
"I can only kill a few of them from this distance as well… in that case, I should focus on their luggage for now," Gaius thought and then saw some tents that had more guards around.
One didn't have to be a genius to understand what was there. In any case, spinning magic arrows wasn't the best option when it came to destroying things. They were great for killing, but maybe Gaius needed a new trick.
"It is finally time to see if I can pull that off… or is it?" Gaius hesitated. "It isn't time to joke around when the lives of my parents are on the line. Still, I have to try at least and check it."
Gaius used all his mana to create a rotating sphere. For a first try, it wasn't bad. Still, he had a hard time controlling all that mana. The sphere was bigger than him, after all.
Eventually, Gaius made the hawk fly downward, and then the enemies saw his spell. They couldn't help but flinch in surprise. When Gaius fired it, they flinched even more since the impact almost pushed Gaius backward and made him fall. Something with that much kick was bound to be dangerous.
Still, the guards jumped and raised their shields to block the attack. The impact pushed them away, making them fall and break several bones before hitting the tent and destroying a huge amount of their provisions.
The nearby enemies looked at the area of the attack and were left speechless. They hadn't seen anything like that, and there wasn't a thing that they could do to stop Gaius. In fact, they didn't even know who he was or how he was riding a giant hawk.
"Good boy… let's leave their field of vision for a couple of minutes to let me recover enough mana," Gaius said while patting the head of the animal.
The hawk squeaked in agreement and then flew away, but soon it returned when Gaius had enough mana to attack. Gaius did that several times until he couldn't see any place where they could have allocated their provisions.
