After dropping on one of the dark alleys on the northern part of the city, Gaius ran back to his tent. It seemed that he got lucky since Kennil still wasn't back in his tent… him and the other generals must be thinking a lot about their next steps. They couldn't let the enemies take back the flow of the battle and now they had an even better chance to do so without their siege weapons.
In any case, after eating some hard rations, Gaius went to sleep feeling satisfied with his job and once again woke up before sunrise, even though he didn't know what they were planning for the day. Kennil woke up around the same time and then received some reports from a messenger.
"... I heard about the commotion that happened beyond the wall yesterday, but it looks like we don't know what happened completely," Kennil said when Gaius showed himself. "Until we confirm what happened, we won't move since we can't risk falling for any traps."
Gaius only nodded. It would be weird if they could capitalize on his actions so soon. In any case, Gaius imagined that the enemies would try to repair the siege weapons and hide them from the people on the wall since they would like to fight knowing that the enemies didn't have access to them. While he caused a lot of damage, he knew that they could be repaired if they had enough time… like a week or two. Was that plausible in the middle of a war? Of course not.
Two hours after sunrise, everyone in the city confirmed that the siege weapons in the north side of the walls had disappeared. Some people thought that the enemies were baiting them, some people thought that some unknown allies got rid of them… and a lot of people knew about Relia's forces doing things behind the curtains since the start of the war, even though no one saw them in action until now.
Gaius met Kennil after receiving the order to do so and then checked the other sides of the walls. Not a single soldier had left the walls that day, nor did the enemies move… they should have realized their losses by now and they had enough time to come up with other plans. At least that was what Kennil was thinking.
“They should realize this chance in a day or two… considering the number of engineers on the other sides, they should repair some of the siege weapons if they focus only on a few of them,” Gaius thought. “They won’t have the same ability to damage this side, though.”
That should give the people inside the walls the chance to realize that something that happened with the siege weapons… Gaius sure was hoping for that. There was also the chance that the people there won’t realize that out of fear. They might think too much after losing so many times in the war.
“What do you think that happened here?” Kennil suddenly asked while they were checking the northern wall.
“The enemies retreated their siege weapons for some reason?” Gaius shrugged and that made Kennil frown since that wasn’t a way to answer his question, just like answering a question with another question. “I heard that there is an unknown force that has been acting on the sidelines, maybe they did something.”
“I also heard of that… a suspicious force that attacks the enemies now and then to keep the attackers on their toes,” Kennil rubbed his chin thoughtfully. “Still, they didn’t do anything grand until now… if they had attacked the siege weapons, they sure took their time to do so.”

Gaius did his part and managed to plant the seed… hopefully, Kennil will do the same with the other generals… even though they probably knew of that possibility already. Regardless, nothing happened during that day. The soldiers welcomed that break, while the guys in the top of the chain of command wondered if they should take that good chance to attack the enemies… the more they take their time, the more the chances of the enemies recovering from whatever happened.
After having a meeting with the generals again, Kennil moved around and talked with the captains that he had brought with him. Other soldiers and recruits didn’t have the chance to hear the conversation, but Gaius did, even though Kennil also told him to keep a distance… all thanks to his Perception.
"Don't reveal this to anyone yet, just give the orders for everyone to be battle ready at dawn," Kennil said. "We are going to attack all sides with all of our forces. The other generals realized that the enemies lost their siege weapons for one reason or the other and we are going to make use of this chance."
It looked like the guys in the top of the chain of command didn't want spies to notice that. That was why he was only talking with the Captains and no one else… Still, anyone with half a brain could imagine the contents of the message. At least a part of it.
"Hmm, an all out conflict, huh… I guess I will have the chance to cause a lot of mayhem tomorrow," Gaius thought.
It would be better to rest early, but they had to walk around for a while since Gaius had to follow Kennil and he had to talk with all the captains.
It was almost midnight when they finished that job, and they soon went to bed. While Gaius was trying to fall asleep, he heard some noise around. When he went to check it, he saw a cloaked woman being dismissed by the soldiers around.
"A lady of the night, a queen that is heiress of the kingdom of das streets…" Gaius thought.
Gaius chuckled a bit, it seemed that his jokes were getting better… anyway, he decided to go to bed since he noticed that the woman was quite curvy and the thot slicer was reacting to it despite his age. It looked like he was getting into puberty already.
Although Gaius wasn't even ten yet, it looked like his body had developed enough to feel attraction toward the opposite sex and he actually could do something about it now. He recalled reading in the past that doing some difficult exercises helps the body produce testosterone faster and more often. Maybe all his hard training helped him with that.
Regardless, it was too late for that and Gaius had to save his energy. Besides, it wasn't like the woman was desperate enough for money to go for a ten years old boy.
"Hello, big boy, how are you?" The cloaked woman asked.
FBI! Open up! If she lived on Earth, her house would probably be invaded and she would hear those words… in any case, Gaius frowned while looking at her. She indeed had a sexy voice and great figure, but she also had quite the face as well… shoulder length red hair, green eyes, a doll-like face that probably wasn't even in her twenties… if she weren't a lady of the night, she probably would be top tier wife material. Gaius almost felt pity for her to be forced to live that kind of life… she must be in dire need for money. If the war starts to drag out, probably more women will be forced to do the same.
After looking around, Gaius saw some soldiers looking at him. They didn't look particularly worried… Gaius was though. He didn't know if sexual diseases were common in that world and he didn't want to risk his second first time with a lady of the night.
"Sorry, but you will have to look for someone else," Gaius said.
"It is okay, I can be your mommy for tonight," the woman said while showing a sweet smile. "One silver coin will be enough for that. You can have everything, a tight hug while sleeping, and some headpats as well."
That would be enough… if Gaius were an anime girl. Nevertheless, he wasn't into incest, so that kind of play didn't sit well with him. Moreover, if he were to sleep closely with such a woman, he probably would push her down. He should be strong enough for that. Even if he were to pay for it, he would feel a bit bad and worried about the diseases.
"I am tight on cash, so I will have to pass," Gaius said. "I am also saving myself for marriage."
