Gaius turned around and saw the wounded body of the woman bleeding a lot. The knife was on her right side and was probably what granted her that ability. Amidst his confusion, Gaius grabbed the knife and then ran away into the darkness since the soldiers were approaching. He jumped on the back of the hawk when the creature got close enough.
The soldiers quickly went to check on their commander, but it was too late. A lot of them began to shout and cry. It looked like she was very popular. Still, what didn't matter was the fact that she could have at least tried to attack Gaius, but she didn't. It was hard to imagine someone who didn't value the lives of her soldiers being that popular.

In any case, Gaius watched the enemies for a while as they argued about what they should do. Some of them wanted to avenge their commander, while others thought they couldn't pull that off without her.
It was a great chance to attack and kill some of them, but doing that now would be the same as adding fuel to the fire. Gaius couldn't do that unless they decided to attack the village no matter what. That was his main goal, after all: to protect the lives of the villagers and his parents.
In the end, the enemy soldiers began to pack their things, grab the bodies of their friends, and retreat. Gaius sighed in relief. It looked like his soldiers had done a lot while he wasn't looking. The enemies had to be watched for a while, but his soldiers could do that for him. It was time to go back home.
Although he barely saw them at night, Gaius passed over the camp of the village and confirmed that they weren't planning to move anytime soon. For all that they knew, the enemies were probably planning something sketchy.

Gaius got a bit stronger, but he wasn't in the mood to celebrate that. The final enemy felt like she had underestimated him or pitied him, and that was annoying to think about.
Regardless, Gaius returned to his home, and his parents hadn't returned, so he decided to solve the question that was nagging at him.

"Wow, she is really incredible. She didn't seem that strong since she was the type that focused on attacks from behind, but she had more potential than even Herac— a lot more, in fact," Gaius thought while frowning.
In any case, Gaius felt a bit bad about it, but he looked for some old clothes from his mother that she wasn't using anymore and then prepared to summon Relia. Someone like her would be even more useful than Herac when it came to gathering information, so he was going to make full use of her. Or maybe not. Gaius wasn't sure if he could treat her like a complete minion, someone who had the chance to attack him and didn't. He needed some answers first.

After heading to the area with tall grass on the side of the village, Gaius summoned Relia and then put the clothes over her before she could open her eyes.
Relia looked to be as old as Gaius' mother. So, it looked like she was in the middle of her twenties, but they didn't look similar at all despite the shoulder length of their hair. Relia was a green-eyed woman with brown hair and was quite tall for a woman. Since speed was the name of her game, she was quite slender as well. She was quite pretty and looked mature, but Gaius could tell she would be even more eye-catching while smiling. He could see how she was so popular. He quickly left the area, but she began to move before that could happen.
"Don't turn around," Gaius ordered. "Your life is in my hands now, and I will make you regret trying to attack that village."
"You are inside my head?" Relia asked while frowning. "I didn't think that such a kid could become even smaller. Wait, didn't I die?"
Gaius was left speechless after hearing such nonsense. It seemed that he was almost checkmated by someone quite dumb. That made him realize that he couldn't get carried away, even though he had the knowledge of someone from modern Earth.
"You died, and now you are going to work for me," Gaius declared. "You can't lie. If you do, you will break your own fingers. If you try to disobey me, you will do the same. If you do anything with the intention of causing problems for me, you will break your hand."
"Do you like to see people breaking their own fingers?" Relia asked while putting on her clothes. "I didn't think that kids nowadays were into that kind of thing."
"... You had the chance to attack me. Even if you weren't able to kill me, you had the chance to," Gaius said after crossing his arms. "Why didn't you attack?"
"I don't like fighting kids or wounding them," Relia replied while scratching the back of her head. "That is all."
Gaius was starting to get pissed for being called a kid time and time again, but he knew better than to get pissed about it. In any case, Gaius could ask for more details, but he didn't want to hear any sobbing stories coming from his enemies.
"All right, your first task is to head north, look for a stick, and then fight alongside the desert wolf there," Gaius said once he returned home and jumped into his bed. "You will hunt slimes until morning. Wait for further orders until then."
"Wait, how did you revive me?" Relia asked. "Can you revive anyone?"
"Don't ask questions and just follow my commands," Gaius said, and then he sighed in relief when he didn't hear anything else until morning.
"Hey, how does your power work?" Relia asked as soon as Gaius woke up.
It seemed that the commands overlooked each other, and they worked until morning. Regardless, Gaius confirmed that she had reached level five, and that wasn't half bad.
"Look for something to eat and then rest in a place where no one can find you. Wait for further orders as well," Gaius said, and then he recalled his mistake. "Don't try to talk to me until I talk to you."
Gaius went to have some breakfast since he hadn't eaten anything yesterday, even though his mother had prepared a bunch for him. He would look suspicious if none of the food was eaten. While eating, he asked his soldiers about the movements of the enemies and confirmed that they had truly left the area. At the same time, he concluded that the villagers were packing to return, but some were building watchtowers and more barricades.
"Feels good, man, to be able to stop a battle of this scale by myself," Gaius thought while smiling.
Around lunch, Gaius' parents returned, and they looked really confused. He couldn't blame them; they had left prepared to die, after all.
"You held the fort well. Good job, Gaius," Zairus said while messing with his son's hair.
"You didn't make a mess out of the house after a single day. Good job, Gaius," Kaira said and then did the same.
It wasn't like he was expecting fanfare or anything like that, but that sure was a disappointing way to greet him back. Regardless, Gaius was more than satisfied knowing that his parents were safe and sound.
In any case, Gaius trained with his sword while his parents slept during the whole afternoon. When night came, he decided to give Relia her new orders, but he soon regretted that.
"Your next orders will be—" Gaius said, using his mind.
"How does your power work? I need to know," Relia said, sounding resolute. "I won't move until you explain it to me."
"That sounds like a challenge," Gaius said while smirking. "Let's test your willpower then. Your mission is to hunt slimes until you can't lift your arms."
