Chapter 90 - Boar Hunting - Part 2

A few moments later, all of us have entered the forest close to the village. While I was running on a road made by carriages or villagers who were usually used to go into the forest hunting animals or use it as a road to arrive at the next village. Also, they are using this road to go to a sawmill where some folks are buying the logs or transporting them to get some gold coins.

While I was walking on the path, with a dagger equipped on my left side, I observed that some other competitors are in the forest, walking carefully and doing everything they have to do just to catch one pig or boar. But I have a different idea to catch one of those and use the tip Diana told me to do yesterday to catch one. But to find that thing, I have to dig in or search for one boar who is digging for truffles.

Yes, truffles. These pigs really do love truffles and Diana is often using them to search for those ingredients which are valuable in cooking, but selling on a market it is worth twenty gold coins since pigs are eating them before a hunter or a cultivator could have the chance to get them before it will be inside the pig.

And, thanks to her, I also got three truffles who might be going to help me find two of those pigs. But I have to really work carefully cause I do not want to draw attention to other competitors or to scare the pigs and never come to those truffles and fall into my trap. And to do this, I run into a hiding spot from everyone else, dig a small grave for truffles in the back of a bush, plant a truffle there, and wait in a tree for the pig or boar to come, and when they will do, I will jump on them, and stab their back or cut the neck. It is brutal, but that is the only way I could catch a pig because a young and weak boy couldn't be able to carry an alive pig, not even a small one.

I stay in the tree and wait for the prey to come. While I wait, I heard two young people, probably at the age of Fiona, not far from here, who were screaming at each other because of pigs. One of them was saying: "Why the hell do you want to come here? It would've been better if we would go to a Tavern and made some fun with a girl or two there.". But the man has told his friend that he wants to take a pig and deliver it to Fiona because he thinks that she will fall in love with him if he will do that and give one of the biggest pig. The other man laughed, and I was also laughing because I saw the man, how it looks and his behaviour, and trust me, he doesn't have a chance to go at Fiona. Not because of me, but because he is probably much weaker than me an imbecile, and I know he is an imbecile cause he spits on his friend's face after he laughed at him and he threatens him that it will slice his finger if he laughs again. The friend doesn't speak anymore, and these two start walking into the forest, looking for pigs and boars.

They come close to the tree I was hiding, but thankfully, they did not look up, only on the ground, or around them. But, one of them was looking up, saw me, and he left with a thumbs up at me, which was probably because he wished "Good luck" to me. How nice of him, until I realized he did that to alert his friend, who was looking like a crazy man at me.

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

"Hey, there boy! What are you doing there?"

"I am looking for pigs, sir." I told him while I am in that tree.

"Have you seen one coming here?"

"No, sir."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes."

He looks at his friend for a second, whispered something at him that I couldn't understand since I am situated at a far distance from those, and he looks back at me, with a weird smile on his face.

"...What is your name ?"

"Judah Judas." I told them.

"Hey, Judah... Could you come down real quick?"

"Um, sure."

I decide to climb down the tree, but when I was close to coming at them, they instantly grabbed me, and start looting my pockets. They have found the truffles and looked at me with some nasty reactions like they wanted to hurt me, but instead, they were taking those truffles and the crazy man kicked my balls with his left leg. I fall to the ground, crying and holding my nuts. But the man comes closer to me and whispers in my ear.

"Scatter or else I will cut your ear and use it as a meal."

Then, they left, but before that, the man was spitting on my hair and left me there. What a mad man, and I hope that Fiona knows his name.

But while I was on the ground for a few more minutes, I see a small pig who was coming closer to me, and this was my moment. Thankfully, those bastards haven't taken my dagger, just those truffles. But at what mind they might have, they thought this is my meal, and not a way to catch the pigs. I quickly get up, while this small pig was digging and stabbed his head, which has made him growl and scream, enough to scare other pigs from this place and run into different directions. And I stabbed him one more time, before he died, also on the head, until he stopped.

After those hits, I take the pig on my back and run with him on my back to the village. Some people in the forest saw me running to the village, but they were just congratulating me for catching this pig. They were clapping and told me "Congratulations!". "Go and make the girl around, boy!". But there were also, those two who sawed me carrying that pig, and they were looking angry at me.

So, they did the unthinkable... Right when I was close to arriving at the villagers who were looking at me, surprised while I carried that pig, I suddenly fall to the ground and felt... something... heavy that penetrated my back. Thankfully, I landed on my face, and not on the back, and the pig was rolling to those villagers. Before I was about to pass out, I saw Fiona who was running with Diana at me, and Big Gus, who was also going along with them, to try and see what happened to me.

But, before I was about to pass out, I did the only thing I could do when Fiona got closer to me. I told her the thing about the pig.

"I, Ju-Judah Judas... Give you... this pig... A-Are you... Accepting?"

"Y-Yes!" she said to me while with a smile and worried that I got hurt into this competition where nobody was hurt. "But shut up, and rest because we have to send you somewhere to help you."

"Y-Y-Yes, ma'am." I said before I passed out.
