Chapter 29 - Mage versus Cannibals

Chapter 29 - Mage versus Cannibals

I was about to reach the market, but I stop as soon as I notice how some people start eating from a human corpse, which has been roasted by enemy flames. I look for some boxes, which have not yet been set on fire, and I look to see what those monsters are doing to that burned corpse. I have seen how they were tearing the skin apart and they were starting to take pieces of the human body, from that body they forgot certain pieces that these bastards stuffed in their backpacks almost full of things, and some of them decided to taste that kind of human flesh by cutting a piece of burnt skin, or taking a cheek from that girl or worse, untying that victim's head and taking from it the brain that every human being possesses.

I felt like throwing up when I noticed such scenes and decided not to, but that didn't stop me from casting spells on those bastards. They deserve to die. I get out of hiding, lift the wand from the belt I had it in and point it at the wicked, utter the spell "Oblivion" and make all those enemies fly a few hundred meters. Away from this village that is on fire because most likely, but even as I was about to leave to see the condition of that corpse, I noticed Fiona coming to the area where once was a place where people sell their supplies for money or buy something nice to cook. Both of us looked at each other like this was the first time we have seen after a few years, but in reality, it was just a few minutes since we have last seen each other. Fiona looks at me and she said.

"Judah! Did you manage to heal anything?"

"Yes. A few people who were barely alive, but the fires are still insupportable!" I said to Fiona while I came closer to her. "We have to do something about this fire."

"You are a wizard, Judah! Don't you have a water spell or something in your spell book?"

"No... I do not have a water spell, but we can try to use the one named Thunderstruck, but it won't be enough for the reason this spell just works if he will detect an elemental weapon."

I took the spell book from my belt, but right when I was about to turn a page, I heard some noises, like warriors when they enter the battle. I look around and notice something serious, a few dozen people dressed in armour, swords old and rusty for a very long time, bows with arrows and even broken rods, which I do not even think can be compared to a wand because a broken rod it's not good for anything, just like beating wild dogs that threaten your yard, ferrets that steal your chickens' heads or even the baby that enters your yard to steal some ripe and juicy cherries.

Those warriors who came to us were certainly not from the army from which Fiona and I came because our army is dressed entirely in chivalric style, polished armour, with red, yellow, and light blue emblems, but also with a back a beautiful drawing with a winged lion. The warriors who came to us were certainly enemies, so I healed the wounds that Fiona presented only by putting my left hand on Fiona's right hand, which is bandaged with some rag that was most likely found somewhere on the street. Fiona thanked me for healing her and she jumps right on those guys with her giant swords which is wielding at her right hand.

I point my wand at some warriors who wield bows and shoot at them. In the end, it seems I found the defence strategy, I take the archers, and Fiona takes the warriors who can attack with swords, knives, spears, or shields. The first spell I cast on one of those enemies was the TNT spell, which not only made him fly a few feet, but the person next to him flew his entire left hand in which he held the bow that was ready to be. he shot an arrow at Fiona. I'm throwing another T.N.T. to three archers, but who blew up only two of them, the third was still standing, so he cast a spell on me, throwing a large stone that hits the third archer's head and puts it directly on the ground. Fiona fights hard with those cannibals. I watched her block every attack using the giant sword she holds in her right hand and how with her left hand, which is a vewolf's hand, she tries to use it to destroy the enemy. Right now I noticed how he managed to use his left hand to cut off the enemy's chest and take the liver instead of the heart, then throw it at one of the warriors, who catches it and runs away with that liver to eat it ... funny, but also wrong on many levels. After dealing with that individual, Fiona, with a single sword blow, cuts the stomach, but also the rusty swords, of four enemies who had thrown themselves at her. Those four enemies fall to the ground, and Fiona looks at the anger and shouts at me.

"Put fire on them!"

"What?! Why?!" I ask Fiona having no clue why I should put on fire some organs.

"Just do it!" says Fiona while she cut the head of one of those warriors who were about to give her a backstab with a dagger.

I take my wand, I point it at some organs scattered on the floor, I say out loud: "Fireball" and a ball of fire come out of the wand, which hits those organs, which burn their flames. I see the flames begin to burn those human organs that were used to help eat food or keep them alive. I notice how the red liquid called blood starts to boil due to the flames forming thousands of small bubbles. I see the pancreas start to melt and smell weird and more disgusting than some eggs hatched on a dead dog during a heatwave on a highway in the middle of the desert. While those organs were on fire, several fighters came to them to try to eat them even if they were on fire and could cause severe burns. But those vandals burn the fire that burns those organs and tries their best to eat even if most of them are already melted. Three of those vandals tried to have a well-burned liver and eat it, but Fiona stuck her giant sword in the stomach of that individual, who fell completely into that fire.

Fiona pulls her sword back from that warrior's body and tells me to fire on some more warrior corpses because they are lured by organs fried like a mouse when she sees a piece of cheese. I carry out the order and launch a "Fireball" several times on several corpses of enemy warriors lying on the ground, I see how some human flesh addicts risk their lives just to taste a roasted human organ. What I have seen now must not be seen by anyone my age, in fact, no one who does not have a brave heart to see such a horror scene.

After a few minutes, Fiona and I end up with the last enemy warriors and we both decide to leave this village because the flames have started to spread, and I can't put out those flames because I don't have a water wand or water spell. We both run around the village after a possible exit from this hell. As we ran, I noticed a lot of innocent bodies lying on the ground, burned, or even slaughtered by those eating human flesh. We find the first exit, but when we were about to take it there, we noticed how a building was about to fall on us, so we step aside and avoid the success of that building, which is still on fire. blocked the exit. Fiona and I continue to look for another one and find it after a few minutes of searching. We take it through that exit and run a few meters until we reach a river not far from this village.

Arriving in the river, we notice a sign of hope that we did not expect, some soldiers of ours who took care of the people from that village burned by flames or even comrades who were wounded or burned alive and have another chance at life. When we got there, we came across someone we never wanted to meet, we came across Henderson, who sits in vain and looks at some people asking for heaven to be saved, but also Gregonson, who helps some old people. to stand up and heal them as best he can even if he is not a wizard.

"Ah... Look who is here." says Henderson getting up and goes to Fiona relaxed. "It looks like you did something out here."

"Excuse me?" ask Fiona feeling quite triggered.

"You spread the fire, which is not good because we had to exhort anyone in that village, and you, all you did was spread the fire. I saw how you set fire to those enemies, which is a good gesture, but cruel. Even for an unwashed woman like you."

Fiona was about to take her giant sword out, but someone came here, and give Henderson a good slab at his head. The General came and he yelled at Henderson.

"What rich garbage you are! YOU ARE IN WAR! NOT AT A NOBLE PARTY! You better do something here or I'll send you to wash the common toilet in the base for the whole war!"

"Alright, sir..." says Henderson feeling bored because the General came and he ruins his fun.

I noticed how the General was boiling with rage when he saw Henderson who did not care about the order he received and left the area. somewhere where you can relax in peace.

"Filthy Nobles! Those scumbags are not made for war... Just to be trash!" says the General to himself, and after that, he looks at both of us and he asked us. "You two saw some enemies there?"

"Yes." I respond to General. "But we take care of them."

"They were about fifty or sixty cannibals, but we killed them all there. And we even found some wounded and we put them at a carriage." says Fiona to the General which looks like a proud teacher at his smart student when he wins an important contest.

"The carriage came a few hours ago, and you two did a good job. Now in which part are you, because you are not my part."

"We are in Part C, but we were sent to this area to guard the forest."

"I understand. Your help was one I really needed, now you two can leave, but not empty-handed. Go to the supply tent and get a whole crate of animal meat, you deserve it. This is an order!"

"Sir, yes, sir!" we both said while we salute the General of this part and we go to take the crate we've earned it."
