On the night, when some of the Fiona relatives have come to her house, everything has started to get quite populated. I didn't know that this family got even grandparents or great-grandparents who are hitting their 100th year, and this thing seems crazy to me cause not many people can achieve that age, even if you are a noble who constantly lives in a house with butlers and maids who are specialized in healing magic techniques.
A few of those relatives of Fiona and Diana saw me in the house, and almost all of them know me, just one old lady, whose name is also Fiona and she is... Fiona's grandma if I have to describe her family tree status. This lady looked quite old, but she is not that old because Diana told me that her age is fifty-seven, and for me at that seemed impressed because I thought hitting that age at this time is impossible to be achieved, but later I discover that this is normal.
She started to talk with me when we got gathered at the table in front of the kitchen, while we were eating a few good dishes prepared by Diana and her mother.
"Are you a member of the Gremory family?"
"I-I think not," I respond to her. "There are other members of my family who have simply fled from this Kingdom into other parts of the world."
"But, you are a Gremory member family and you are the child of Thor, right?"
"Thor? You do know my father?"
"Yes. He was my neighbour before he was… you know."
"I do," I tell her because I started to get used to the feeling that my mother and father were gone and I am the only one who will carry their legacies.
"And. I cannot believe their children escaped safe and sound from that attack," she told me with a smile and holding her crying later. "You know. When I look at you, I could see Thor. Young again and... helpful. He was always jumping to help strangers and the ones who need help."
"Well..." says Diana while she holds my shoulder and looks at her grandma. "Judah is also a great help in the capital. He even got to his first solo mission with a good friend of him."
"Wow." says the grandpa of those two girls I am working for. "What was your age, young boy?"
"I am ten years old."
"I am surprised. Kids at your age. Going on a solo mission. You and that boy are quite strong, right?"
"Yes. I used my magic and he used his fists and his... monk abilities... that was the ones he was calling I think."
The grandpa and the grandma of Fiona and Diana were looking quite suspicious at each other, and then they looked at me with a look that they just saw Fiona who is about to cook something that she told them it will taste good and not going to kill them.
"What... Is the name of that boy?" asked the grandpa to me.
This text was taken from Royal Road. Help the author by reading the original version there.
"Gregonson, sir," I told him, and when I said that name, he looked scared, and made most of us feeling quite nervous. Then, the grandpa has started to cry.
"I. Can't... Believe it." says the grandpa while his wife is patting his shoulder and trying to make him feel better and also stop him to show a scene at a beautiful family gathering.
Leaving that aside, I started to enjoy eating with a few of the relatives of the Lunderberg family. Even though I am not a member of their family, I feel somehow... like I am one of them. The adults were asking me about the war, and I told them the same answer I told the others. Wars and blood... a lot of fighting and I saw so many deaths at my age who made me realize the war is a battle that can be easily lost if you are not careful.
There was even a kid named Gary (who is my age; and heard from Diana that he is going to become a blacksmith apprentice), who asked me if I could show him some magic tricks after the dinner. I said sure, and after dinner, we both go outside the house, and from there, I show him a trick that is inoffensive.
"Vulture," I said with a loud voice and aimed the wand on the sky. Even though the night has come, the guy seemed amazed.
"Wow!" he said while he looks at the Vulture who is flying o the sky. "What is this doing?"
"It searches the area, to see if there are any enemies in this place or any inconvenience."
"That is cool, but I do not think there is something to be worried about. This place is protected by one of my cousins, who is the strongest warrior in this area."
The vulture comes back, but this time, when he landed he scared me a bit because he started talking. This is weird because the vulture has never spoken when he returned. He told me that: "One Tavern is fighting. It is three kilometres from here.". I looked at Gary confused, and he looked at me also confused.
After a while, I decided to try my luck to ask if the guards are on their way, and the bird responded to me. "There are three guards are on their way.". This made me feel better because I was close to calling Fiona or Diana to told them that. But three guards are going to a Tavern to stop a fight, so this will not be a reason to get nervous and act scared.
Then, Gary and I stayed outside for a little bit of time because I wanted to show him some magic tricks such as doing a "Fireball" spell and launch it into the sky. I tried to do a spell called "Long hair" which will make the one who got struck by this spell have a long hair.
I aimed my wand at Gary, who seemed low-key scarred at first. Then, I said the spell name and he instantly got a long hair. He touched his hair and he felt happy.
"So cool. Thank you." he said Gary to me.
"Don't mention it." I responded back.
"Hey! Are you my friend?"
"Huh?... Well..."
Gary looked quite sad there while I was trying to do a joke to him that I was thinking.
"We are friends," I responded to him and this made him happy for whatever reason.
Probably this boy never had friends in his life until now. And it remained me of someone from the Orphanage.

I went back to the house, and there, I saw five people gathering at the table and playing a cards game I saw one day when I was staying in a camp located in the war zone. These people are probably going to play a quiet and nice game of cards, but this what I thought. In reality, they are looking at each other like some kind of hungry animals, with their gold coins on the table with their cards prepared. On that table are Fiona, Diana, Fiona's Father, her grandpa, and the mother of Gary, Aunt Suzy.
"Whoever loses will have to be the maid of the winner for a month," says Diana to everyone else at the table.
"You bet, sister," says Fiona who is playing with one cold coin. "And that will be you."
"I don't know, little sister," says Diana in a weird tone who sounds like a boss rather than a quiet and capable woman. "Last year, you were the one who was my slave."
"This year will be different."
Fiona takes a quick look at me, and then she told her big sister.
"You will see."
Gary immediately left the kitchen, by making me remaining there, in front of that table where are a few demons who are playing cards on being someone slave and taking all of the gold coins. And Fiona smiled and she winked at me.
"I don't like where this is going." I thought to myself.
