Chapter 22 - Emily, Big Gus and Brothers Flint - Part 1

Today I had my first war battle, and this war scared me, not because I killed some innocent people, in fact, I don't even remember killing anyone because the spell T.N.T. only propels the victims a few meters, but the risk of killing is small. However, if she had killed someone ... Fate cannot bring the person back, and Fiona told me: "What happens in war, stays in war."

Now I am in a camp set up by the Royal Army near a river where male and female knights sway, which seems normal for these two different sexes to bathe in the same place, but some prefer to bathe. bath or wash in different places. I don't know why they have this mentality, but I don't care either because Fiona and I have other things to do. We were both sent by an officer to go hunt some rabbits to make a delicious dinner. Fiona could go alone, but she needed my help for several reasons, one is because I am a squire, and squires have to help the person she works for. The second is because at night many large creatures sneak in that could even kill a man with one blow. Take the third is because the spells you can cast are useful in one night.

While Fiona and I were walking through the woods looking for those rabbits that would be used for dinner, she began to ask me a few questions in a whisper because if she said them out loud, there was a high risk of scaring the little animals. and we would attract large animals.

"How was your first fight?"

"Terrible," I whispered to Fiona still remembering some dead people trying to get up. "How could someone love killing people?"

"I know it is painful, but the Kingdom ordered us to do everything we could to stop the enemy advancing."

"Advancing?" I whispered to Fiona. "What do you mean?"

"You see. The enemy wanted to advance into our Kingdom to take it. If the enemy makes this mission successful, then we are gone, because this kingdom is the opposite of our own. They want wizards and female knights gone, they force people to live in a cramped house and you know what is worse if they will ever succeed to take our Kingdom... They will burn our entire kingdom."

"Burn. Why they would do that?" I whispered to Fiona."

"I heard is some kind of tradition on their part. But right now, we should focus on stopping them. Alright?"

"Alright."

From that day, both of us decided to destroy and kill whoever is in our way. I love my Kingdom and don't really want to see it get destroyed by some evil people who hate wizards. That kingdom must understand that there is no problem with magicians, we certainly do spells, we are different both physically and mentally, we attack from a distance like a scoundrel, we can certainly read spells and books, but in the end, we are all human. Whether we are complete or semi-human or human-animal people.

Fiona and I stop by a birch tree trunk and observe a few meters away from us some rabbits sleeping in a cave. Fiona was ready to prepare her knife to cut those rabbits, but I decided to apply a spell on her that would help her not feel. Fiona didn't realize I had cast a spell on her, but that spell disappeared for a few moments. The magic spell I cast is called "Invisible" and this spell has the property of eliminating every noise that a certain person makes when he takes it out, such as a slow walk. Fiona walked slowly to that rabbit's nest, which didn't even move or feel Fiona approaching them. Now let's hope you don't get upset that I did such a thing. When Fiona approached that nest, she began to cut as fast as she could the five rabbits there. I'm already sorry for those rabbits, but that's the life and fate of animals, a man has to hunt when it comes to hunger because a human is also an animal.

After a few minutes, Fiona and I returned to camp, and my knight hands me the rabbits and tells me to take them to the campfire where a black man works, with tattoos on his face and blindness in his left eye. I take those rabbits, then I start going to the fire, and Fiona goes who knows where now I hope she doesn't want to talk to anyone or I'll get in trouble when she meets me. Only I can see it while it is still invisible. I think about what Fiona could do to me later and I go to deliver these tasty rabbits to the cook who cooked them for a tasty dinner.

I walk for a few moments among the tents where the knights of our army sleep, play with a woman they found on the street, or even in the way of this war, and some who sit in the tent and read some books. I get to that place where that cook is and when I saw him, I was going to run away because he looks like one of those people in the torture chambers where he tries to beat people as hard as he can to get what he wants, pain. But this cook, even if he looks like one of those people, when I gave him those cigars, he smiled at me and thanked me for what I did, then let me go quietly and he will call me when dinner is ready. Looks like you can't judge a book by its cover, because I was talking about books, I already miss reading a good book, so I head to my tent to read one of the books I took with me. But when I was about to go to the tent, a wizard stopped in front of me and asked me.

"Are you one of those wizards of the battlefront who helped Big Gus?"

"Big Gus?" I asked that wizard who is started to look kinda worried at me.

"A giant knight who beat everyone with bare hands and squash everyone?"

"Yeah... I think I know who are you talking about? A giant who beat a few enemies the new carriages arrived?"

"Yes. You see, he sent me to find you and tell you he wanted to talk something with you."

"Okay. Where should I meet him?" I ask that wizard and thought to myself maybe he needs some help to heal or something.

I and that wizard walk through a few tents and arrive in less than five or six minutes at a campfire, and there I notice a giant knight, two knights sharpening their thin swords, and a witch, who is the very girl who taught me that spell of enlightenment that morning when we were about to go to war.

"Hoi! This one Emily! This is the one who helped me!"

That wizard girl, who is called Emily is looking at me, and she asks me.

"Are you the child of Grenda?"

"Grenda?"

"The ugly mother who raised a child on the streets and made of an enchanted apple?"
