Chapter 46 - Mission accomplished

Chapter 46 - Mission accomplished

Group A has finished killing those targets, Group B has killed the wizards, knights, and archers, who were in the middle of the area we have captured, and Group C has successfully destroyed the cave and capturing one valuable target who could help us gain some useful information, which we didn't see because one of their knights is a wizard and transported that target into a world. But, in this fight, we have lost a few fines and good men who did not deserve to die. We were eighteen when we arrived there, and we have lost six of them, among them, the poor knight who saved me was penetrated by an arrow that stops the healing magic spell and slowly kills that person. The same arrow that killed my poor parents. A few warriors from Group C and B who were probably not that strong as the others.

The horse-drawn carriages arrive after us in a few hours, with other knights who will remain here to guard the area we won, I suppose. Three large carts came, carrying about ten or twelve members on the cart, armed to the neck or with just a sword or wand. Among those carts was that vampire, who would train me to control the spell that would help me turn into a vampire. That character gets out of the wagon, glances at me, and then leaves to protect the area from a surprise attack by enemies.

I did not try to greet him or say anything to him because we, who were still alive, had just boarded the horse-drawn chariot, and other knights loaded into another chariot some of the bodies of our knights who had fallen in battle. Emily, I, Fiona, and the rest of the knights, a total of thirteen, took place in one chariot. The second chariot carries the bodies of those fallen knights, including Tyran, which makes me feel sorry that he spared his life to save mine.

When we all got in the cart, the driver of the cart starts to whip the horses, which start to start and transport us back to the place where we will rest for a few days, because these last fights have exhausted us. At least me and Emily, but I don't think that happened to Fiona and the others, because they did not have to use their mana to heal their wounds or another magic spell to help them fight again. Sometimes, I wonder would have happened if I join as an apprentice in blacksmithing or in bakery...

When this cart transports us to the base where our army is located, Camille probably asks us to cheer us up or get rid of this silent atmosphere.

"Is this your first war?"

"Yes." says the guy named Josh who is on my left side.

"No.," says Fiona who is on the right side of Emily. "My first war was three years ago, back when Arcadia was still a thing."

"You fight there, too?" asks Emily feeling curious.

"Yes. Back when I was still a squire."

"Aha. I see," says Emily to Fiona. "How was it?"

"Not great. But this war cannot compare to that one."

"You are right," says Camille to both of those girls. "This one is too simple to just fight for a little land."

"Yeah, and why did you think he added two groups of the army in two different zones?" asks Emily which makes half of us suspicious about this strategy. "Something seems fishy here."

"Yeah..." says Fiona looking at Emily, and then she looks at me: "Good job on the battlefield squire!"

"Thanks." I say to Fiona.

"Squire?" asks one guy who is wearing full armour who is most likely from Group C because in Group B and A there were no one who was wearing full armour. "How old are you?"

Enjoying this book? Seek out the original to ensure the author gets credit.

"Ten years old." I respond to that guy.

"Ten? I do not believe it, man. You literally shot a big boulder from your staff at a big distance and you killed a troll. Great shot, by the way."

"Wow..." says Camille looking at me. "A kid who can use peels complicated. It is really a legendary one?"

"Nah." says Emily. "That spell can be used by anyone. But, with the help of staff, he can make the rock into a boulder, but it requires much mana."

"Yes." I say to Emily. "I still have some mana left after I healed my teammates, but I do not feel any-" right when I was about to say that sentences, my eyes have instantly started to close down and to feel into a big and deserved it sleep.

While I was sleeping, I did not hear how the people around me had been scared by what had happened, but I think one of those people realized that because of this fatigue I had on the battlefield, I deserve it. really a little rest, because I'm just not an adult by nature who can control his sleep as if he were a pet.

While I was sleeping, I no longer had those bizarre dreams with those guys named Hans and Julius, in fact, I had a dream in which I was in a bizarre world, a world so bizarre that I saw people dressed in weirder clothes around than the nobles, people who climbed metal carriages that are not pulled by horses, children who run on the street and do not work in blacksmiths, bakers, butchers or I know where, and buildings larger than those in the Kingdom where I live. In that kind of dream, I was walking around, I was dressed in the clothes I always wear, but people around me looked at me ugly, stunned, and of course, with those looks that made them sorry. And I have no idea why they're sorry, after all, I think I did something.

Just as I was walking through that city, a blonde girl with tails on her brown hair, dressed in a pretty dress, and with a beautiful young face and blue eyes, which reminds me of a child I lived within the Orphanage, comes to me with a kind of floating sphere and is held in a rope. I, noticing that this girl is smaller than me, ask her name, and she answers me with a smile on her velvety face and more beautiful than that of a nobleman.

"My name is Sophie, and I have six-years-old. What is your name, kind stranger."

"Name is Judah Judas, and I have ten-years-old." I respond to that little kid, who is looking funny at me.

"Why are you wearing clothes like that? Are you one of those guys who live under the bridge and came to the street to clean?"

"Who ?"

"My mama told me there are some dangerous people there who clean our streets and are eating children if they ever dare to pass there. They look terrifying and I do not want to stop there or go any step in that ugly place."

"Scary people?... Do they possess magic?"

"I don't know. They are scary, and my mama told me to never go there."

"Well... I am not from there and neither from here..."

"Ohh... You are from another country?"

"Yes... Probably... I don't know... Look, I just wake up here and I do not even know the name of this place."

"You do not know the name of this place? It is Romania, of course. One of the best places in the entire world."

"Romania?" I say quite shocked because there was one single country who is named Romania and that one is the only one I live in, then what is this world. Am I even in a world or is this some kind of teleporting, but after a few seconds, something was shaking the ground around them and in a few seconds everything turned black and I wake up from my sleep?

I get up from the bed where I had slept, take a look around me, and pretend that I am in a tent where the injured human beings are left, or as in my case, those who need maximum rest. Before I got out of bed, someone I didn't expect entered the tent. that person who entered the tent was someone I didn't expect to see here, someone I thought the only place I could ever find her way in the Orphanage I lived in. Yes, that person who entered the tent is Călugărița Maria, also called ... the woman I wanted to have as my wife a few years ago when I was little. But what is the nun Maria looking for here? In a zone like this one?

"Judah..." says the nun Maria smiling at me. "You are finally awake."

"Yes..." I say to nun Maria. "How much time I was asleep?"

"Almost three days."

"Oh... How is everyone from the camp?"

"They are preparing for the next battle, which is going to start in about three days later."

"I understand." I say after I get off the bed and I go to the exit of that tent, which I am followed by nun Maria.

"Are you alright?"

"Yeah... I am fine." I say to the nun Maria after I left the tent and head to mine because I do not want to see her because I'm already ashamed thinking about the time I liked her and I wanted to marry her back in the Orphanage, what will she think of me from now on? But this doesn't matter right now. What matters the more is the fact that I will have a big battle in a few days and I have to prepare for it.
