Later this day, we got back to the Capital. We drive the carriage back to the area where it should belong and be stored because it doesn't belong to us. It was not a big deal, and as we finished the storing, Fiona came to me, and asks me.
"Are you ready for the second mission of today?"
"What as do you think you have hired me for? To slack off." I say trying to make a joke, which it works because Fiona laughed at it.
"Good joke. And this one tasks it is not like the previous one."
"What do you mean by that?" I ask her.
"We will need a partner for it. And I already called a guy to come here."
"Really? Who is it?" I ask her as I was noticing the man she called for this task is approaching us with his big stick tied on his back from the other side of the palace.
As I looked at the figure coming at us, I was dropping my mouth because I never expected to go on a fight with a friend of mine, Lu. This guy it is from the same group of knights I meet with them a few months ago at the Palace on my first day as a squire for Fiona. All four of us are to this day on good terms, and when we got time we go on training grounds to show our powers or spare in some good fashion fights.
Lu it is a fantastic fighter for his age, and he is also a half-licensed knight that did the three years of training with a knight. Now to become a fully licensed knight, he has to do the Academy, and he will do it, like all four of us. And with a genius and trickster as Lu, going with him on a mission like this, it will be an adventurous experience I never thought I would be able to see it happen.
"Judah!" says Lu as he came closer to me and we both shook our hands. "You are ready for today mission?"
"So, you are the one we are going to…" I say that line, and I look at Fiona. "Yeah, what's the mission?"
"Today's task it is none like what you did." she says to Lu, and she ignores me. "This mission will need strength, will and cooperation. Are you ready?"
"Sure!" says Lu to Fiona.
"What is the Mission?" I say to Fiona, and she looked this time at me.
"A tribe of cannibals has been spotted in Oridea." says Fiona. "That place it lacks fighters and defenders. It is a village where elders and people with brain are living. That place it is not like the Capital, nor Henedorra, or Neo. This is a city where the people need us."
This novel's true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.
"If this fight is so important why we didn't leave earlier?" I ask Fiona.
"Because there is another person who is waiting for us, and that one is using only six rookie soldiers… Seven with him." says Fiona. "And enough chit-chat for now. We will talk on the road, for now, let's take the horses and ride to Oridea."
We are running to the stables to get our horses. The moment we got there, Lu took his white horse named Twisty. Fiona took her horse, while I took mine, Roberto's. Fiona didn't name her horse because she always says horses are an instrument who can be replaceable if something bad will happen to them. We get our weapons put on the horse backpacks attached to our seats, and we march into the road.
We travel via horses outside the Royal Palace, we take a right turn and run with our horses on a straight line, until we reach the entrance and exit of the palace. Fiona and Lu showed their parchments to the guards who are keeping the gate watch, then let us leave the Capital. As we left the Capital, we are travelling at high speed to the Oridea, which is not far from the Dobrat.
Oridea is described as being a city where a few experienced wizards and blacksmith are working on a big building, creating metals, magic items and crystals which are powerful enough to help any warrior in fights. It is also read in a book that a noble family, is living on this city, and that family is known by the name of Utah, a noble family which made this small village become a known village by spending half of their resources to create three blacksmiths specialized in magic. To give some ideas, Dobrat has only two blacksmiths specialized in magic items, those located on the corners of the kingdom, and one of the reasons they are only two there is because of the items quality who always have to be outstanding, their prices are huge, materials are not as cheap as ordinary blacksmith materials and soldiers with no magic cannot use them.
We are on the road for about a few more minutes, we continue to ride our horses on a full speed to Oridea. As our horses are running faster, I looked at Lu, and I ask him.
"Is this your first mission by yourself?"
"Yes." replies Lu to me.
"Are you nervous?"
"No." replies Lu, and he looks on the road. "Hey! How many years do you have until you become half licensed knight."
"About two more years."
"You are going to be the youngest in our group getting the half license." says Lu as he moves his horse closer to us. "And Ron was feeling depressed he will be the youngest. Wait until he will hear this."
"Guys!" says Fiona as she makes her horse, who was running faster than ours, decides to keep our peace. "Judah, can you summon your bird to look on the sky for clues and possible ambushes."
"I don't see no reason." I say to Fiona as I took my wand and say the spell out loud. "Vulture!"
The bird came out from the wand and flies into the sky for a second, then he comes to me, and he asks me like it always does, in the same respected tone since I have learned the spell and formed a contract with it.
"What's the order, sir?"
"Can you check the entire area around us to see if we get ambushes?" I ask the bird.
"I can do that, Master." responds the bird who flying higher in the sky and starts flying into the east.
While my spell bird is searching for any possible danger surrounding us, I and with my friends continue to go straight ahead to the place we have to help our teammates to fight these tribes of cannibals. Fiona continues to take the lead, while we are staying on the back.
