Liu Tián Qǔ and Butler Zhou arrived in the outer receiving hall to find Housekeeper Gao and Eunuch Rong sitting down having tea chatting happily with each other. Apparently, they knew each other well from her days of working in the palace. Liu Tián Qǔ bowed before saying, "Sorry for making Eunuch Rong wait. I had no idea Eunuch Rong had arrived."
Eunuch Rong appeared to be a jolly older man of average height. He was slightly overweight and had very clear, bright eyes. "The Emperor Declares that Liu Tián Qǔ disregarded fortune and thought only of his country. Upon realizing that the mountain which he owned possessed a rare ore that could help strengthen the country. Liu Tián Qǔ immediately turned the mountain over to the country and did not use the mountain in exchange for fortune. Due to early warnings issued by Liu Tián Qǔ. Traitors who had sold their country for fortune were revealed. Liu Tián Qǔ has performed a great merit for the country."
"Liu Tián Qǔ is to be reward a Royal Medallion of Mercy, ten horses of the Emperors own stable, a Liu Residence sign written in the Emperors own hand, and 3,000,000 gold. Liu Tián Qǔ is of a noble house. Liu Tián Qǔ will also be granted the right to secure his residence and garrison his army outside of the Imperial City. Wang Fèn Yǒng will assist Liu Tián Qǔ in securing his residence and maintaining his garrison for a period of five years, thus decreed."
"May the Emperor live ten thousand years!" Liu Tián Qǔ said bowing before receiving the decree the Eunuch Rong passed to her. As Liu Tián Qǔ rose, palace servants carried in a residence sign with the characters Liu Residence written in the Emperors own hand.
A palace servant also carried in two boxes and gave them both to Liu Tián Qǔ. The first box was a small flat squared red lacquer box with an exquisite carving of a scholar playing a flute under a tree. The second box was a large plain dark wood stain money box that contained three thousand gold certificates in the equivalence of one thousand gold each certificate.
The money confused Liu Tián Qǔ because she explicated said she was selling the mountain for only three hundred gold.
Eunuch Rong asked for everyone to be dismissed to convey a verbal message that Eunuch Rong was told to carry to Liu Tián Qǔ. After everyone cleared the room. Eunuch Rong handed Liu Tián Qǔ a smaller money box and a document complete the sale of Veiled Mountain.
With a serious expression on his face, Eunuch Rong said in a firm voice, "In the money box I just handed you is the money for the transaction of the mountain in the form of three hundred gold certificates of one thousand gold each. As you requested, only three hundred thousand gold will be given for the mountain no less and no more."
